Magnetic Pulse is an action-packed heart-pounding romantic thrill-ride.
It wasn’t a chance encounter or love at first sight that brought Bo Stratton and Austin McKenzie together, but fear, desperation, and need. That trio of emotions kept them close. Close enough for Bo to realize that Austin makes her heart race . . . her blood boil . . . and her body pulse. Unfortunately, she can’t stand him. As a matter of fact, she would like to be as far away from him as possible. There was just one small problem . . . calamity has forced them together.
Maybe there wasn't just one problem - her dislike for Austin McKenzie could only be rivaled by her attraction.
Magnetic Pulse is book 1 in the Hot Voltage Series. Follow the events that lead Bo and Austin on an unbelievable journey as society begins to unravel and they fall in love. For mature audiences only.

This story is unlike anything I've read! Is it an action adventure with romantic elements or is it a romance set in a high octane adventure? That's all subjective, but one thing for certain: your heart will race, and you will find yourself on Amazon adding disaster preparedness shit to your cart! Oh, that's just me? Okay...
We are living in scary times, people, and although fictional, this story demonstrates just how close we are to worldwide disaster, and I want a man like Austin around when the shit hits the fan. I'm not worried about zombies but political and ecological disasters, man! Austin is a soldier in every sense of the word: loyal, honorable, protective... The only reason I didn't give this story 5 stars? Bo is ANNOYING AF!
LaShawn Vasser has really hit it out of the ballpark with her lastest novel, Magnetic Pulse! This book was very fast paced and is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat! The fact that the events can become a reality given the times we live in made it even better! Let's not forget about the Alpha male Austin! Whew- he definitely was a force to be reckoned with and I can see why Bo was so drawn to him! Loved every character! This book will definitely not disappoint and sure bet to keep your attention! Loving this series all ready. This is certainly going to be one of my favorites! Congratulations!
I generally like this author, as the female character are generally strong. I couldn’t finish this book, as I was getting so aggravated by how annoying the female lead was: acts without thinking, bitchy and rude for no reason, irrational, reckless, etc. There was nothing logical or rational about her behavior, especially in a life or death, and chaotic situation. And she is supposed to be a doctor? Urgh brainless!
Magnetic Pulse is book 1 in the fantastic adventure of Austin, an ex military man and Bo a young doctor.
What would you do if one day you woke up and everything about your way of life had changed? This was Austin and Bo’s reality -their new normal. Let’s just say their first meeting were rocky at best. They didn’t get off to a great start. Everything around them were different and they along with Bo’s brother Bryce had to find a way to preserved their sanity and protect themselves and their families. Austin was a no nonsense stick to the rules kinda guy and Bo was stubborn and hardheaded and at times reckless so things were always heated between them.
Theirs is an action-packed fight for survival story. I guarantee you, you won’t want to put this book down. I can’t wait to see what happens next. Thank you LaShawn for your great storytelling abilities and this wonderful story.
Once again, Ms Vasser has gone for the home run!!! I keep running out of superlatives to describe this author’s work. Just when I think I have her style worked out, she flips the script for the better.
Austin and Bo’s story had my heart thumping right out of my chest from start to finish. The story is set in what is quite frankly unchartered territory within the context of this genre. Austin and Bo’s love story is pitted against the most unusual and treacherous, apocalyptic times, making navigating the path to true love an even harder one to negotiate than is usually the case.
The undeniable sparks between our lovebirds had me praying for the survival of their fledgling romance as well as their safety. A dual plotline that I’ve never encountered before in this genre, making for a rather unconventional but exciting romance story that’ll have your heart thumping until the very last page. A simply delicious read. Roll on Book 2, I can only hope Ms Vasser doesn’t keep us waiting for too long!!!
Well I'm a little upset....I settled down reading the story of Austin and Bo and it was getting really good when BAM I didn't realize that we were at that part were the book ended and it had me all kinds of missed up because I needed to know what happened to Austin and in the words of my grandson "what happened". No, for real I was so drawn into this story of Austin and Bo that I didn't want it to end even though I knew there was going to be more because it says it's book 1 and LaShawn Vasser told us it would be a 3 part story. LaShawn all I have to say is you need to finish the second book before I become stalkerish...I need to know what happened to Austin. This was a very entertaining story, of course there were parts that I wanted to hurt Bo and tell her to wake the heck up and act like you are a grown woman and not a child. But other than that LaShawn you make want to become a prepper! Thank for a very entertaining, intriguing story and I can't wait until the next installment.
Right now my emotions are all over the place. I feel like i need a GIF for everything I’m feeling!! I can’t form a thought at the moment cause I’m shell shocked!! And that excerpt didn’t help my emotions at all (Major side eye)!!
Talk about magnetic pulse, it’s more like I need to be hooked up to an EKG machine!! From start to end, this story has you on the edge of your seat. Literally nail biting at the turn of every page!! It’s like The Walking Dead but without the zombies. Bo is hardheaded and don’t listen to well, and when it comes to Austin, she’s annoying. Being married to a military man, I know when to shut up and take orders especially when the world is falling apart all around. Austin I’m with you no matter what!!
I literally don’t want to say too much, cause I hate spoiling it for others.
What a great premise, particularly in these trying times! It's scary as check to think about that what ifs but....what if?
What if you fell in love through someone's words? What if people treated you like a kid? What if you had to do something so opposite of who you are? What if you had to become a survivalist? What if....
Bo worked my nerves, she really did but that means the author got it right. This author writes her characters in a way that shows growth, either through trials & tribulations or time. I saw a smidgen of spine towards the end, so I'm hopeful.
Now Austin....he can get it; anywhere, anytime!!
This is book 1 so I'm anxiously awaiting book 2 cause....Sookie Sookie, sh*t got real!!
What would you do if the world changed around you forever? Inside the pages of this book is story that could happen sometime in the near future. Austin and Bryan were soldiers. However, Bryan and his company that included three friends finds they were smart in planning somethings they did/ Austin has come to love Bryan like a brother. Austin also has fallen for another of Bryan's relatives - Bo his sister. Bo meets Austin and has an extreme reaction to this sexy Alpha. Their journey leads them into violence, racism, survival and mystery. Yes, there is a cliffhanger, but this book is a page turner from start to finish with heat infused along the way.. Can't wait to get the 2nd installment..
What started off as a good book with a great style of writing quickly turned into a rushed product with a few problems. Firstly the female lead was horrendous, and annoying. The first book should have been focused on getting to the cabin and settling in, instead the romance was rushed "electric jolt" and all that nonsense. Secondly the addition of random characters and threats at only 50% in was a mistake, that should have been the ending. As I said I would have liked the first book to be all about the chaos and the relocation. Bo was annoying beyond words and self righteous, couldn't relate and really disliked her. The main idea of the book was brilliant, the writing was good. The story just lacked great execution and storytelling.

Everyone was too quick to forgive Bo for getting Bryce shot. F all of that! Quit playing childish games with Austin, stay calm and stay safe. For someone who graduated medical school, she should know that her emotions have to be under control. She was rude, illogical, childish and most importantly, selfish. Her selfish ways got her brother shot. She’s too busy trying to be the hero.
I hope she’s not as annoying in the 2nd book as she is in the first.
I was a bit scared about the direction the story might be heading with Bo. I really didn't want to read another story where the girl was going to get on my last nerves seemingly about whether or not she was going to let the guy in her heart or have SOME type of relationship. It wasn't bad Bo still needs a little growing up in some ways but Ms LaShawn has me caught again.
Logan had better kick rocks with open toed shoes! Whatever feelings he's harboring, he better let go of them a..mutha..f-n..s.a.p.! That there is Austin's boo 100%. This book was sooooooooooo darn good. Wait..was that enough o's in so...never mind, you all get it. The cliffhanger and a tad bit of a chapter in the next installment has me sweating in anticipation baby!
Great plot, but grammatical errors that should have been caught before publication. Great characters, but Bo hit a nerve with her immaturity. Loved Austin, but he and Bo's love didn't seen real and intense. One minute she hates him and the next she goes to his room and you know what happens. The ending.....REALLY! Over all it was good...but not excellent!
Very good story. It drew me in from the first page. Apocalyptic romance with hunky ex-military men and a family trying to survive in the new reality. Strong female heroine. Interesting read BUT it leaves you hanging. You need to read book 2 to find out what happened to the hero.
What can I say I do not like Bo character, she was so annoying I wanted to stop reading the other characters are fine I was expecting more action from the two main guys. Overall good read . We need more alpha males and strong women and less whinging.
This author always writes about empowered and women being empowered by their situation and this book is no exception. I love how the author describes the subtle changes to accept the new reality bestowed on her and her family. Can’t wait for book 2 !
If you like Fast pace, non stop action and the beginning of a love story, this is your book. I know that it is a trilogy , but I was still unprepared for this book 1 to end. I hope that books 2 and 3 are released soon. I'm anxious to read Austin and Bo's story as well as the fate of America.
On more than one occasion did my heart stop and landed in my throat. This story is so exciting and full of explosive action. I love it. Can't wait for part 2.
What more can you ask for in a book? From the first page to the last page you become engrossed in its many twists and turns. The main characters,Austin and Bo, are well developed and engaging; even if Bo makes you want to strangle her, it's REAL. Well researched, timely and don't forget a HOT hero and great love story on the horizon. Buy this book!!!
Another great read. What a brilliant concept for this series, it is two in one. The idea of such a close knit group of guys all loving the same girl under the challenging conditions. If you have not read yet , you are missing a real treat. This author does not disappoint, worth every penny, once you start you will not be able to put this book down until you have finished it.
I really hate weak heroine 's. And this one was enough to make me stop reading this book. You can't be tough and strong at the same time, about almost the same thing. She was very annoying. So after reading the excerpt for the next book, I have to ask myself. Is this going to be a orgy? Everybody in love with her and she doing all the "brothers" before she decided which one she wants??????
My first read from this Author and what a Raad it was.
