CW: eating disorders

I’ve tried to read other Christian books about eating disorder recovery that have been given to me by well-meaning family & friends, but they have all fallen flat & sometimes done more harm than good. This book is the opposite. The author beautifully weaves in a grace-filled theology of recovery. There are some instances of fatphobia & a few descriptors of the ed that I found a little too triggering as someone in early recovery. But overall, this book is incredible & I would recommend it to anyone fighting their own battle of any kind, & especially to folks in recovery from eating disorders &/or body image issues.

Great concepts.. But as one who doesn't battle a food challenge, it was hard to apply the questions directly. CR changes lives.. Giving grace to others, and to ourselves, is a hard lesson.

This is a wonderful book. I am going to re-read it now and highlight like I usually do. It is one of those books that will become a go-to for working through issues and journaling my progress as I put into practice those things that helped the author in her recovery. I highly recommend it to anyone who struggles with any type of addictive issue...food, alcohol, drugs, codependency or anything else.
