When a woman dies from what appears to be a heart attack, 20-year-old Emma Wright suspects foul play. Now she has to convince her sheriff father and the guy she's got a crush on, K-9 search and rescue deputy Colby, of her hunch. Ridgeway Rescue Mysteries offer a delightful escape, making them the ideal choice for those moments when you're waiting for an appointment or simply craving a quick and engaging listen. Don’t miss this charming, fast-paced cozy mystery that will keep you on the edge of your seat, guessing right up until the very last moment!

Set against the backdrop of Valentine's Day, 20-year-old Emma Wright is yearning for her crush, Colby Davidson, to finally see her as more than just the little sister of his close friend. Colby, a dedicated K9 search-and-rescue deputy, has always treated Emma with a protective kindness that she now hopes to transform into something deeper. But first, she has to figure out how to make him take her seriously.

When her veterinarian boss unexpectedly calls upon her to pick up a cat from a location that has suddenly become a crime scene, Emma's day takes a surprising turn. She arrives at the opulent estate of the wealthiest woman in Ridgeway, only to find that her father—the town's sheriff—and Colby are already on the scene. Their initial dismissal of the sudden death of a prominent local software billionaire as simply a tragic heart attack raises Emma’s suspicions.

As she begins to investigate, Emma uncovers intriguing clues that suggest this death may not be as straightforward as it appears. With her instincts telling her that there may be more beneath the surface, Emma becomes determined to discover the truth. Was the software mogul’s demise truly a result of natural causes, or could foul play have been involved? Dive into the mystery alongside Emma as she uncovers secrets that could change everything.

Murder on Valentin's Day was a super fast and fun read! I loved this little book.

The characters are charming. Emma is sweet and delightful and a super sleuth. It takes no time for her nose around and figure out what was going on and that there really was a murder and who actually did it! Literally using her nose her allergies to cats help her figure out who the villain is but almost puts her directly into danger when she finds herself alone in his town home. with the culprit. And realizes no one knows where she is.

Without skipping a beat Emma 'beats it' and calls her dad the sheriff and convinces him she's figured it all out. With warrant in hand he arrives with Colby the officer that Emma has a crush on.

Once all is said and done the murderer is caught and arrested and Emma gets her chance with Colby.

I completely enjoyed this little book. It was short. To the point and just a nice change. It was fun to settle in for a few hours and read this fun story.

Murder on Valentine's Days is book 2 in the Ridgeway Rescue Mysteries. I look forward to catching up with book 1 and with reading more in this series.

If you've read my reviews of Pauline's writing before, you already know how much I enjoy her work. I kind of want to be her when I grow into my writer's shoes!

The Good: Another quick read that was perfect for a slightly chilly afternoon. I read this series out of order but it didn't matter. They all work great as standalones. The characters are engaging and the story keeps moving right along. I swear that Emma is the non-ocd version of Monk with her observation skills!

The Bad: Yep, still got nothing when it comes to this series.

The Summary: Another fantastic piece to this series! I love how you can read each one as a standalone or as part of the ongoing story arc. I honestly cannot recommend these more if you're looking for a cozy mystery to while away an hour or two.

WOW - what a wonderful short and sweet little story. It's long enough to cover the story well and short enough to never get boring!!!

Emma Wright is the main character of this story -- her father is the sheriff -- and she has a crush on Colby - a deputy that works for her father. She is contacted by her veterinarian boss to go by and pick up a cat from Mrs. Van Horn's house. ---- and all that happens in the first couple of chapters. But I don't write spoilers -- so you are gonna have to just read the rest for yourself.

I love the little stories that P. Creeden writes and can't wait for the St Patrick's Day one to be released!!!

Emma is still crushing hard on Colby and is trying to figure out how to make him notice her. Her crush makes her seem every bit of her young 20 years.

She gets called by the local vet to do an emergency pickup of a cat at the wealthy VanHorn residence and ends up involved in another murder investigation.

Naturally, Emma is the one who figures out first that there was a murder and is able to solve the case. The method was an intriguing one. And the culprit was a little more difficult for me to figure out than the previous book in this series.

I liked this one better and think this series will continue to improve as it goes on.

Quick read

Quick, enjoyable read. I like stories with animals in them and this has them. Was hoping the animals were more involved than they were. It was an okay story for me but not great. Not sure if I would read more by this author. Found the story predictable and was able to guess the villain pretty quick, and the clues also. Maybe I have just read to many mysteries. For with kindle unlimited which was glad as not one I would keep. Would say about a 2.5 star rating but I usually round up.

This particular mystery was way too easy to figure out. Every clue was painfully obvious. This writer has a tendency to repeat things, or mention things that were already brought up. (See what I did there?) It's a very odd style. Also, this town should get some new cops, because these fools can't figure anything out. Either that, or hire Emma, because apparently she's the only one that can solve murders. Speaking of Emma, she's supposed to be 20, but she comes across to me as someone twice her age.

Since I purchased this series as a freebie package, and they're short, I will go ahead and read them. I do like the creativeness of the murders.

I highly recommend this as a nice, short cozy mystery!

Emma is allergic to cats and has to go pick one up for the vet. Her dad, the sheriff, and Colby, the K9 officer, are on the scene along with a nephew and niece of the deceased. She apparently died of a heart attack, but did she really?

I'm not usually a short story/novella type of person, but I just love this. It's a nice short cozy mystery.

I read this book quite quickly and semi enjoyed it. I found the main character to be flighty and up observant is so many ways. Even though her dad was a cop and taught her to be Vigilant. Ex: she parks her vehicle but doesn't see her dad's car or his partners car parked almost beside hers. There were some other instances but you get the idea.

All in all, it was a mediocre read and I won't be pursuing any other of this authors books even though I enjoyed all the animals.

Such a wonderful read! Colby has to be one of those adorable guys that steals your heart and you don't want it back; he was so cute. I espcially liked how Emma took charge and was smart enough to realize so many things that women aren't given credit for. Molly stole my heart from the very beginning! I really enjoyed this quick read. It was exactly what I needed!

4.7 stars for this cute, but quick mystery

Really enjoy cozy mysteries with pets playing major roles in solving the crimes. I love both cats and dogs and this story had both. I enjoyed this story and look forward to reading more by its author. Since this is such a quick read, take it along to your next appointment and the wait will fly by.

Short and enjoyable

I am aware that I prefer reading shorter novels and reading books close to the holiday. The author did this. I enjoyed reading this book and recommend it to anyone who wants shorter enjoyable books.

Emma is sweet and smart, she knows there is a murder, and sets out , with help of an allergy to know who. With her dad as the sheriff she calls and tells him. Few scary moments when.no one knew where she was at. Now if she can get a romance going with Colby. Delightful short story.

Short, sweet, clean mystery featuring the daughter of the town’s police detective as an amateur sleuth and her rescued St. Bernard puppy named Molly. It looks like Molly will be trained as a therapy dog in the next book.

She's observant and it's the little things she noticed that quickly solved the mystery.
