This book caught me by surprise. I knew it would be candid, informative and full of the encouragement and advice I've come to know and love in this series of books. What I wasn't expecting was how emotional a reading experience it was. Jasinda shares her personal struggles and wins in a way that touched my heart and reminded me I'm not alone. She's an inspiring story of physical transformation on behalf of her health, but in this book, I found out her greatest transformations were emotional and spiritual.
Yes, this book cuts through fasting myths and explains exactly how to do it in a way that is manageable for your life. Fasting is NOT one size fits all, I learned in this book. And it's not just about not eating. This book can change the minds and hearts of anyone struggling with feeling overextended, frustrated or chained to anything, be it food, alcohol, social media or something else. Don't make the mistake of thinking you already know what's in this book - it's worth every penny and the guidance and encouragement will stay with you.

This book really blew my mind. If it would've come from ANYONE else besides Jasinda, I would've closed it at like page 5 and returned it, lol! Just like I said after I read the first book in this series, You Can Do It: Health, wellness, and healthy living for those who have tried everything else, forget everything you think you know about fasting!!

Fasting is something I have always, ALWAYS been told is unhealthy, that it's starving yourself, that if you do it, you're anorexic...etc. I also struggled with hypoglycemia during my mid-teens to the point that I lost consciousness once, before we knew what it was. So, since then, I've always had three meals a day with at least one snack in between, even when I wasn't necessarily hungry, because it was something I thought I "had" to do, otherwise my metabolism would shut down, my sugar would drop, and my body would go into "starvation mode" and hold on to all my weight.

But knowing that this was Jasinda, I held on, quieted my doubts, and kept reading. I've read and followed all three of her You Can Do It books as they came out. Since May of 2016, I've lost 55 pounds, and her plan has been at the core of my weight-loss success the whole time.

The more I read, the more her words really started resonating and making a lot of sense. And this book is about more than just fasting, it's also about doing things that are good for your mind, body, AND soul. About securing a stronger, happier self. And just like in each of the other installments, she includes some more delicious recipes, which I always look forward to these books for.

Even though I loved it and I have already started experimenting with some intermittent fasting, there are a couple of reasons why I cannot give it five stars. I do believe these were really "me" reasons, though. I am hugely detail oriented. Like, I need to know ALL the details about something before I feel ready to try it. I'm not someone who can just take someone else's word for it. Little things that I need to know in order to embark on this journey are not included in the book. For example, how much salt to suck on while fasting, which is REALLY important. This is not mentioned in the book. You have to listen to their first podcast to get this particular piece of information. I like having all of my needed info in one place.

Also, Jasinda has said time and again that it isn't her style to include all the science-y details behind everything in these books and I get it. A lot of people might get bored with these details (again with the details, lol!) and/or do not feel that they need them, but that was not me. I needed them. I needed to be fully convinced to do this in order to disprove all of that incorrect information I've had in my head for almost four decades. The book does not go into a ton of detail about the science behind fasting, what it does to your insulin levels and glycogen stores, how and why it gets your body to fuel itself on your stored fats, etc. Also, the massive history behind fasting. It touches on these things briefly. Luckily, one of Jasinda's recommended reads in the book, The Complete Guide to Fasting: Heal Your Body Through Intermittent, Alternate-Day, and Extended Fasting, which I highly recommend, had alllll the science-y details I needed. It also had an audio version, so I listened to it during my work commute all last week while I read Jasinda's book at night. Now I feel that I am 100% informed and prepared to proceed with fasting with confidence and knowledge about what I'm doing. However, I had to buy two books in order to get to where I needed to be.

Finally, I wish she had more success stories about other people who have tried and had luck with her fasting plan. This is included in The Complete Guide to Fasting: Heal Your Body Through Intermittent, Alternate-Day, and Extended Fasting, so I got it there. But again, I needed to be convinced. There were three brief overviews of people, besides Jasinda, who had experienced luck with fasting, but again, this was like a page and a half of detail, and to me, it wasn't enough.

I will say, I really recommend checking out all of the recommended readings in all of her books. They are some great resources. I've purchased and read most of them and they have only strengthened me on this important journey.

I tried two brief intermittent fasts last week and did well with them. Today, I am attempting my first 24-hour fast...eeekk!! I only have about 25 pounds left to go until I reach my original goal weight, set by my doctor, and am confident that fasting is going to help me reach this goal for the first time in my life. :) And I know I am doing something healthy for my body.

Thank you, Jasinda, for continuing to share your journey and successes with us!

I have read Big Girls Do It Running and You Can Do It: Health, wellness, and healthy living for those who have tried everything else.

The eating plan is a solid plan that makes sense and although I have fallen off of the wagon I still have made small decisions in the kitchen that have been permanent, so slow and steady is winning the race. Speaking of races. I completed a 5k. I didn't win or even come close, but I did it, so that was a massive win for me proving that yes this plan works.

I love, appreciate, and admire Jasindas journey, but I just don't know if I can not eat anything for a week. I totally agree with her that sugar and carbs are slowly killing us, but my husband would kill me if I was hangry for a week. Now social media fasting - Hell YES I do that from time to time and it is amazing to be "unplugged".

I still love and recommend all of these books to anyone and everyone looking to make a healthy change! Just because I am too chicken to fast, don't stop yourself from reading it. What doesn't work for me may work for you.

Let’s continue this Journey!

This is the third installment of You Can Do It. With the previous books we have learned how to understand a better lifestyle. We were shown ways to improve our health and learn how to make better choices in our day to day lives.

I have learned so much from Jasinda Wilder’s books and You Can Do It: Fasting is a way to bring all that you have learned and add fasting to your routine.

I recommend reading all three books because YOU Can Do It. I have been following these books for a while now and I have lost 54 pounds and have kept them off for TWO years now. Everybody has hard time from time to time, and with the knowledge of what it feels like to feel good you are more likely to pick up something you won’t be beating yourself up later on. I had a rough year 2017, but I am proud to say that I kept up with my lifestyle and have looked forward to incorporating Fasting into my lifestyle.

How to put into words how great this books is. If you have been on your own You Can Do It Journey so far with Jasinda you are going to LOVE this. The insight and Aha moments I had while reading. Being Healthy is so much more than the food that is on your plate and what you fuel your body with. Mind health, environment health, everything plays a role to you living your fullest life. Reading this I felt as if Jasinda was sitting at my kitchen table with a coffee and we were having a honest heartfelt discussion. I laughed out loud, had moments tears came to my eyes, and felt like I was given a big hug. Must Read, continue your journey. If you haven't started yet, get started!

This program has changed my life!

I've spent most of my adult life as an overweight woman. I have tried every diet, pill, wrap, and fad you can think of. When I read Jasinda's first You Can Do It book, I thought there was no way this would work. I started the eight week challenge in May of 2016, and haven't looked back. For the first time since middle school, I am at a healthy weight. I have energy, I sleep well, I eat fantastic food that fuels my body, and I look good in clothes! This is not a diet. It is a way of life that will allow you to become the best version of yourself!

You Can Do It: Fasting: Easy fat-burning techniques for optimum health, weight loss, and wellness by Jasinda Wilder is the third book in this series. The previous books are: You Can Do It and You Can Do It: Strength.
You Can Do It: Fasting is a real life experience and is an eye-opener. You Can Do It: Fasting is a guide to a lasting healthy and wholesome life.
The book is not only a lifestyle or diet book, it´s more, much more.
I started reading and was hooked from the first page. I was deeply impressed and intrigued and wanted to start immediatedly with this journey. And I did. I started a 24 hour fasting and it went great !! Yes, I´m only 3 days in, but I got such a pep and enegry by doing something right for my body and soul.
Come on the Wlider Way, you won´t regret it. I recommend to read the books in order and wish I could give more than 5 stars.

Having been part of the #wilderway since May 2016, I always look forward to a new book by Jasinda and what new and exciting journey she will take me on this time and this book was no different. As someone who has lost and kept off 30lbs for almost 2 years, I am a firm believer in this lifestyle and will gobble up any knowledge or tips that Jasinda would like to impart on me. My favourite part of all the You Can Do It books is the honesty and even what might be TMI that she and her family are willing to share with us on their journey to better health. Looking forward to starting the new 8 week challenge soon and seeing my health improve even more. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Just the kick in the butt I needed. Jasinda continues to educate herself and the reader with You Can Do It: Fasting. Pouring in her personal experience allowed me to have a better understanding of the program and the huge jump into fasting. I will continue to use this book and the prior two as tools for my continued weight loss journey.

This is the third book in the series and I would recommend reading the first two before diving into this one. At first I was like I could never do this. But once I started reading I was thinking damn I really could get into this. You just have to prepare yourself and eat correctly before you begin to fast. Jasinda is truly and inspiration and someone who is going to give it to you straight. She has been on quite the journey and she lets you know what works for her. Like she said let your body tell you what you need. If you need to eat stop fasting and eat. I love the recipes and I can't wait to try some of them out. I am getting ready to travel and I am going to try it out. I actually fasted for 12 hours today and I didn't even mean to. God knows if this hangry girl can fast so can you. Now I just need a cookbook and some more audiobooks from you and I will be a happy camper. Thank you Jasinda & Jack for another inspirational book.

Worth every penny. If I could hug Jasinda Wilder right now I totally would. It’s all thanks to her and her series of books in the you can do it series that many other people including myself have learned and have become much healthier people in our day to day lives. Jasinda Wilder has always been an inspiration to me and has been there for all of us during this journey . This third book about fasting is definitely an eye opener and another learning experience. Although fasting may not be for everyone, it’s definitely something that I will be giving an honest go at it . When a person thinks of fasting , they think I can’t do it because I will starve , but honestly it’s not just about fasting from food . There was so much informative info in this book that I really enjoyed and had a very hard time putting it down . If Jasinda Can Do It, so can you . So if you have not already picked up this book, You Can Do it Fasting , or if you have not read her first two in the series , you need to stop what you are doing and get them and start reading to get on with your health journey too. It really does work trust me , just take it one day at a time , one meal at a time and you can do it too ..

You Can Do It: Health, wellness, and weight loss for those who have tried everything else by Jasinda Wilder
Book summarizes the authors life to date and the obstacles she's had to overcome and has found a good solution for her life.
There are listings of healthier snacks than what you find in the stores. Lots of tried and true results that should work for you also.
Not too keen on the running part as my doctor told me that walking is better-easier on your knees and feet.
Photos are included. Has 8 week guide and meal plans and grocery lists.

Much of this book is the personal story of the author and her family. The diet tips are useful, but not necessarily anything new. Exercise might be great, but all the advice to run is not helpful to someone who is disabled. If you want to see behind the scenes in the life of a best-selling author and her family and will find good, but well-known, diet and exercise tips helpful, this book is for you.
