Just forget it! Every single page is about sex, wanting it but not taking Eventine. It has become ridiculous. Yeah, I agree with a lot of the other reviewers that it's confusing but mostly it's all about sex and I need something more than sex when I read.

So, sex talk, panting after each other and feeling each other and talk about how huge his cock is. That's enough.

The F-bomb was used 143 times.

As to the narration: Michael Pauley did a good job at the reading end of it but he couldn't help this.

Amazing

Lisa has done it again. Before I start I advice that you take your time reading this book . There is a lot to process lots going on. Really take your time reading the first few chapter's so you can understand the full depth of this well written book because trust me once you start reading this book the only time you put it down is to go for a toilet break.

Harlan has suffered heart break he has lost his Mate Evie his first and only true love . She was taken away from him too early into their relationship and he has never got over that. He is a broken man he wants his life to end 29 years has passed since his mate Evie had died. Then he see jaguar true mate and he is instantly drawn to her he knows she does not belong to him but he has to help find her has to be near her. The more he spends time with her the more things begin to come clear. I do not want to spoil what happens. Read OTM 7 you will not be disappointed you will find yourself go through different emotions one mintue you are laughing the next you are shouting . This book is a rollocoaster of emotions I have enjoyed reading every mintue of this book now I want more. There are very good surprises in this book I got very excited and extremely happy about one wolf.
Lisa you are an amazing writer please keep writing these amazing OTM books I can't wait for Jaguar story.

This book did not do it for me. I know a lot of reviewers stated that this book felt disjointed and it is too different then the other books. I however did not feel that way. What made this book not the best was the fact Eventine was selfish the entire time. I understand that this is a love story and the goal is to have the two main characters together but that does not mean one of them should sacrifice an innocent for love.

There were moments where I could not believe how Eventine treated Leilani. At first you would think that Eventine is trying to protect Leilani from everything but then you delve deeper and you see that she is only concerned about getting back to HER life and to Harlan. It took her until Chapter 38 in order for her to realize that she is not the one in charge. Her life is over and she needs to let Leilani live. I am not looking forward to reading about Eventine again but I do know that she is going to play a role in Night of the Beast.

I really hope that Eventine plays a little part in the next book and all of the books after. I do not think I can handle her high handedness and her just be abrupt with everyone. I have a feeling that she is going to feel special that she is the only wolfen female alive.

Addicted!!!

KSRT (Kilo Special Response Team or Khain Special Response Team) member Harlan Mundelein, the Knotted Wolf has been fading for some time now. He knew his time to reunite with his beloved Eventine would come soon.

There wasn't a One True Mate for him so why couldn't he stop himself from thinking like something was missing. Especially when there was a woman by the nane of Leilani who made him feel things he'd thought died long ago.

"Or did she!?"

Leilani, a One True Mate who was stuck in an asylum. She could time travel that's where Eventine Mundelein met her. She was there to protect Leilani and bring her to the KSRT.

Harlan and Eventine got a second chance. This was an incredible story even though it was a wee confusing at times. But I couldn't put the book down no matter what.

The Shiften community was growing stronger than Khain expected. Cubs were born (Treena, Track and Kendra) and there were more on the way.

SHIFTER'S PARADOX is the seventh installment in Lisa Ladew's ONE TRUE MATE series. It was filled with wonderful twists and turns. Lisa Ladew had me on the edge of my seat from start 'til finish. 5 stars!

P. S. Looking forward to Jagger's story!

So I heard several people complaining about this book. These people didn't understand and quit reading early on in the chapters. Have you ever read Dragonfly in Amber by Diana Galbadon? Yes, the one in the Outlander series. It goes back and forth from past to present, past to present, and then present to past. OTM7 does the same thing. It challenges you to really think ahead. Where is this leading me? Once you understand this is a bigger picture and not a force fed book like so many shape-shifting romance, then you can't put the book down. It becomes a happy train wreck you can't wait to watch happen. The foundation has been laid now for at least the next 2 books, and I may have no fingernails left waiting for OTM9. I hope you read this Lisa! From one of your Dew Crew, never let anyone tell you how to write your stories!

The One True Mate series is great. Characters are fleshed out with each one having his own voice. Most of the books in the series can be read as a standalone. Not this one. Harlan's story needs for you to know Harlan from the other books. I didn't pay really pay attention to Harlan in the first 6 books. He was just there.. My bad. This book deviates a bit from the regular plot outline because Harlan had his Mate and lost her. Here we discover the past relationship. While it was hard to read until I got my "Harlan" legs. It was well worth slowing down to be able to follow Harlan's thoughts. I got lost a few times, but as a huge fan of the author's I persevered and am hugely glad I did. This one is much more a thinking story. with the jumps between the present and the past.. Not for everyone, but well worth the time. I am looking forward to Jagger's story next.. It should be an awesome ride.

Amazing Story

This was a great addition to this series. There have been reviews that describe the book as confusing and difficult to follow. I didn’t find that to be the case at all. This is a PNR romance, you have to let go and read with an open mind. If something doesn’t make perfect sense to you, but doesn’t effect your ability to understand the overall story line, then just let it go and move on in the story. I found this to be a great story with some interesting writing styles. You are in the characters mind and the author managed to capture a true sense of someone’s “stream of consciousness”. Bravo for that! That the author was able to immerse herself in that character so completely she could write in that style in such an authentic manner is nothing but brilliant

Mind blowing read

I’ve read all of Lisa Ldew’s books ad this one is written very different for a very different character. Before this book, Harlan was a secondary character in my opinion that we really didn’t know much about. He was part of the KSRT team, part of the pack and different because he had found his mate and she died on the same day they mated many years ago. He was understandably sad in all the previous books of this series. Then I read this book and a whole new facet of the OTM world opened up as I read ...

If you read to savor or soak up the story, you will pick up knowledge about this amazing world Lisa has created. The story moves/‘jumps’ time periods during the first half of the book which can feel a little disjointed, but it has a purpose... consider those chapters vignettes that ad up to more than the sum of the individual chapters. You learn about important pirates of a beautiful story.

Harlan’s backstory is powerful. He is a fully fleshed out character who was hiding in plain sight in the previous 6 books, but oh boy is he a kick ass alpha male. You learn his mate Evie was badass, powerful and a huge piece in this OTM journey.

As Lisa has said this is the middle Book in the series and so much information gets shared in this book. When you start to read it, realize you out going on a fast paced, rollercoaster-like journey that will expand your knowledge of the entire series. This is NOT a cookie cutter shallow read that the names of the hero and heroine have been changed for a fun and simple read. This is a juicy, and savory meal of a book that is just amazing. Your brain will be thinking for days afterwards about what you learned and new questions that were uncovered.

Enjoy it ..slowly...remember this is a relationship not a quick hook-up to be quickly moved on from and forgotten.

Intense, suspenseful and interesting. This book is full of feelings and emotions, these characters have all been through hell in one way or another maybe not quite literally but with what's happened to them and their lives. This isn't written in the same way as the other books in this series and there is some back and forth from present to past as we learn what happened on the day all the females died. I personally felt this added another layer to all the pain the loss had caused all the main characters, finding out what happened to Evie and how she found Lailaini. I cried with these guys at the conclusion of this story, but I also cried for Jagger and his perception of what was happening. I loved the lightness brought by all the babies though the start is tense with the long labour and birth of one. All the interaction and support they all give each other and the friendships they are all building and cementing together is fantastic. I can tell from reading how hard this story was to write and to get it right for the readers, I think it comes through in spades. I feel of all the series so far and they are all fantastic but this one is definitely the best so far, the emotions are deep and very real and I felt them all while reading. Worth so much more than 5 stars I would happily give it a 100.

Expect a miracle

Writer Lisa Ladew goes out on a limb in OTM7: Shifter's Paradox. She eschews the larger series plot of the fight against Khain, and the simmering questions of who on earth he has corrupted to betray the shiften. Instead, through the eyes and the memories of Harlan Mundelein, 53 year old wolfen and member of the KSRT, we relive the beautifully tragic story of his lost mate, Evie, who died on their mating day with the other female shiften at the hands of the demon Khain, 30 years past. He's still a solid soldier, loyal and effective in the fight against the demon, but 30 years of unrelenting grief and a life without hope has take its toll on his heart and his mind. The author switches us from present to past and back, as Harlan and the other shifter sort through the fragmented hints and obscure clues to the strange reappearance of Leilani, a time-traveling One True Mate that seems to be Harlan's, but isn't. Evie still exists, a bodiless spirit watch over the shifter from Rhein's Meadow - sort of an afterlife way station - and likewise must puzzle through events and prophecies to reach a stunning conclusion: there may be a way for her to help from beyond death! All the familiar series characters reprise their roles in this wonderfully well-developed paranormal world, but this is all about Harlan, and a love too great to let go. Grab the box of tissues, because there's hopelessness, heartbreak, miracles large and small, and a stunningly poignant and beautiful ending to this perfectly character-driven paranormal romance.

One True Mate 7: Shifter's Paradox by Lisa Ladew is a pivotal turning point in this series. This author made a bold decision to up her game and the end result is fantastic. While sticking with the One True Mate theme, she negates the predictability of the previous books. Even though this is book #7 in the series, I believe it could be read on it's own without any confusion between previous characters or plots. The author does a nice job of integrating backstory and characters so that the reader isn't lost or inundated with too much information. The book doesn't end with a cliff hanger but you definitely know an epic battle is yet to come. Harlan and Evie just booted out Bruin and Willow for my favorite characters. I can't wait to see what's in store for Jagger!

Ladew has a great, creative and crazy mind. Shifter's Paradox is a busy story that makes you think while reading. Harlan's story answers questions about the past and opens up a whole world of possibilities. It's one of those books that if you read it quickly, you're going to have to go back and read it again. This is no hardship, I do it with all books that I find worth my time. It's like watching a show, you pick up new things each time. I normally am not a fan of books that bounce back into the past, but this has a purpose. If you don't go, you don't learn the full story of why they're where they are. While it may take you to the past, it brings you forward and things click into place. That being said, I wanted more towards the end. More interaction between Evie and family. I wanted her to be able to hug her dad. I felt that the last chapter just ended too abruptly. Perhaps it's the impatience of wanting things now and not wanting to wait till OTM8 before Evie finally speaks to the rest of her family and friends. Therefore I struggle between 4 and 5 stars because while I know Evie got her family back I wanted to read it.

If you are looking for a book to give you a range of emotions, crying, laughing, frustration this is the book. Any author that can give the reader such a range of emotions and suck you so far into her mind and the world she creates is an excellent writer. Therefore even for the frustration of the last paragraph and wanting more, I guess that is what OTM8 is for, I give Ladew 5 stars. I want to be a part of the OTM world and isn't that what reading a book is all about?

Love really does conquer all

This story continues one of the most thorough, extensive and comprehensive paranormal worlds existing today. Although this book can be read as a stand alone, you aren't doing yourself justice if you don't read all six of the previous novels in this series. This story of Harlan and Evie"s ultimate second chance romance is bittersweet, mesmerizing and totally absorbing. Harlan is the true soldier/ police officer. Confident, loyal, strong and moral the loss of his fated mate 29 years ago has weighed heavy on him, but he has maintained his service to all in the world, and some out of it. Evie died in the terrible loss of shifter females, but she still exists in the Garden of Rhen, watching what transpires back in the world she left. But she does more than watch and with the help of time traveler, Leilani, who is a fated mate trapped in her own nightmare, they still make a difference in the fight against the demon Khain. The integration of present time narrative with the history of Harlan and Evie's love story provides a depth to their love and insight into the horrendous time of loss. This series continues to have rich, complete characters who make this alternate world glorious in its many varied aspects. The foretelling of more stories to come makes this book only that much more interesting and amazing. Harlan and Evie, a love story for the ages, literally.

PERFECTION !!!!

Lisa Ladew does it again.... I loved Harlin and Evie's story, you will not be disappointed with all the wonderful characters back together and getting caught up with all new babies and how they are doing, it's definitely an emotional rollercoaster ride, but you will not want to get off. I laughed and cried and I don't want to get spoil it for anyone but there is also some wonderful surprises too !! You can tell Lisa Ladew out a TON of time, thought, and love into this book. I think it's favorite book in this series thus far. I want to give Lisa Ladew a huge "THANK YOU" this book was fantastic and your so talented !! Now get busy girl !! I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE NEXT BOOK !!! (:

Harlan finally reunites with his mate

The first third of the book is really confusing with the time travel. Leilani and Evie sharing a body going back and forth on who is in charge which time made it hard to follow. When i started the second third of the book seeing how Evie and Harlan met I was fine from then on. It stayed in the past for a third of the book then returned to the present. Eventhough there was still a little traveling going on from Rhen's Meadow back to Trevor's house, I could keep track of what was happening.
I gave it four stars because I liked the overall book, but the first part needed a little bit less movement or overlapping scenes or something. I realize that we needed to know about the time travel because of Leilani and Jagger's book, but maybe less would have been more.
We had a couple of revelations toward the end that has me looking forward to the next book.

Shifter's Paradox....OMG

This book is an emotional rollercoaster ride of immense perfection. Lisa Ladew has given us a story that answers and asks many tough questions. This story flies to the heights of heaven and the depth of hell from page to page. From 29 years in the past to modern day you feel the pain of the loss of all the women to the joy of the one true mates to bring all that's right back to the world. Harlan's mind has been though 29 years without his mate Evie, he was so young when it happened that he know nothing different. Ladew has shown us the eternal torment each male has felt by gifting us with Harlan's story. This has got to be my favorite out if the seven books in this series. Harlan and Evie rule!!!!

Absolutely Amazing!!!!!!!!

Lisa Ladew has surpassed herself and all expectations with this book. If you haven't read it run get it now read slowly sunk it in and grab some tissues. There is depth, laughter, heart and soul in this story. If you've read the other 6 a lot of things make more sense and clarity after reading this story. But I must say the most heart wrenching scene I've ever read in my entire life in here. Don't want to give to much away, but I've never cried so hard in my life reading a book. I got so bad I couldn't see and had to stop. Thank you Lisa for the greatest love story I've ever had the pleasure to read. I will cherish this one forever, we all wish for a love so strong. Love you Lisa Ladew and all ITS.

Absolutely brilliant, once again Lisa has outdone herself with Harlan’s story! I was told to take my time when reading this one as it was slightly different to the other otm. So I did, and I am so glad I listened to that advice, I took my time I fell in love with Harlan and eventine, their love story is completely different to other otm, but it is a love story.

I enjoy stories that challenge my imagination and make me concentrate and this definitely does that, from start to finish I was coming up with my own theories of how it would end but never once did I come up with this! And the added extra of something little yet significant happening just made me smile!

Now to patiently wait for one true mate 8

Intriguing

Harlan lost his mate 29 years ago when all the female shifters suddenly died. He can’t forget her and sometimes it feels like she is still talking to her. Leilani is in an institution and she thinks she is really crazy because she goes places in her mind that feels so real. Evie didn’t go to the Haven when she died but ended up in Rhen’s meadow. She is drawn to Leilani. She needs to get her out of the institution. This is a fantastic story about true mates, a fated true mate and how they will do anything to get to the ones they are meant to be with. 2nd chances should never be taken lightly.

Lisa Ladew - Author Extraordinaire OTM7 Harlan's Story

Harlan' life. This book is different from Lisa's previous writings in the amazing One True Mate series. She has developed characters that have now evolved with complex lives. This book is a fork in the road. It has grown, with the help of her fabulous assistants (hats off to Anette and her other amazing friends) and her online Dew Crew. It is a stepping off point for the remaining books in this series.

Reading this unique journey, with a writing style that mirrors the thoughts of Harlan's emotional experiences, is a new form of connecting with Lisa's paranormal readers. It is an amazingly transformative story that will have you ugly crying tears, laughing out loud, and trying to remember to breathe.

Lisa is an amazing tour guide for the continuation of her shiften world, and gives you everything you pay for PLUS her heart. Read her OTM books from 1 to 6 before tackling this beautiful piece of art, and enjoy the experience of being involved in a world like no other. Thank you, Lisa!

Disjointed

This one was pretty bad. It seems the majority was written in a very disjointed way. We had lots of jumping around in time points of view that were very hard to follow. Everyone acted strange and like their thoughts weren't flowing. It was really weird. Heck, it even followed until the end when they came together and had sex. Strange disjointed unconnected thoughts and actions. I think the author got in a groove in writing in that weird stuttering way and couldn't pull herself out of it. Made it hard to actually finish the book. Plus if one held time and anchored time, that didn't actually happen. If those two would have made the trip back, then the prophesy would have made sense. At this point, it doesn't. Harlan following h e r around because of her smell and his attraction sounds like a mate recognition, but then later he ignores her and claims that he doesn't recognize her as his mate
I thought the white lady might have done something, but if she did, it wasn't followed up on. Just kind of dropped. Bad thing is, I love d both Harlan and Evie characters. It was just the story and the way it was written that fell flat. I put it down several times and started and finished 2 other books while trying to get through this one. Not a good sign. It's a really bad book to causes to do that and if it had been the first in the series, I wouldn't have gone further. Probably not even finished the book. Hope she gets last this style of writing. MAybe take a break.

Smoking or nah when this was wrote?????

I loved Lisa's writing style for books 1-6, but 7 was out there... WAYYYY out there. Someone wrote it seemed like they were on a psychedelic acid trip while reading 7. Yeah, that works for me for Harlan's story. It could've been so good b/c Lisa is a great writer. Ummm...not this time. I initially gave 1 star b/c the MC's went off on tangents for pages and pages with just their thoughts, but its hard sharing you stories with a critical world so 4 stars it is. Lisa explains in the end why the story skips all over the place and how she wrote this one different from the others. By then, I was a lot disappointed in the book by then b/c I had to skip a third of it to stay absorbed in the story. When I could figure out what I might have missed while skipping instead of reading, I knew what the problem was; too much info and narration in the pages. Pages and pages of the MC's inner thoughts. BUT it ends beautifully-just skip the middle to about 85% then keep reading. She did manage to get me intrigued with Jaggar. He didn't get anywhere near as many pages as the babies did. Really would love to read his story. She promises it will read the same as 1-6.

Such a waste of time.

I made it through books 1-6 and trust me, it was hard but I hate to give up on a series. However, this book simply pushed me over the edge. I made it to 22% and was so confused and bored out of my mind. I skipped to the back to read the authors notes and that really made me angry. She obviously knew this book was going to confuse the hell out of people.
Based on what I have read perhaps this author is ADHD. Her thoughts are all the place and I'm surprised she even has a following. I'm so angry that I've invested my time in this series & author. The only thing that could have possibly made it worse is having paid full price for the books rather than Kindle Unlimited.

I really loved Evie and Harlan story...💙💖💙😘 I hope the author doesn't mind me using a highlight from her book...ENJOY THE READ!!!💖💙💖😘

had found a way to bring Evie- Harlan sat straight up in the bed in the strange, still house. Evie. She wasn’t next to him but a female form had stirred the sheets next to him. She’d been there. He hadn’t been dreaming, wasn’t moonstruck. He was… happy. He stood and pulled on clothes he found in a dresser then went to find his mate in the dark of the cabin. She was on the porch in the earliest morning light, standing there in men’s clothes four or five times too big for her, the shirt tied under her breasts, the pants rolled at the waist and the cuffs looking adorable and so very real. He stepped outside and came up behind her, clasping her in his arms. She’d scented him, and pressed back into him as soon as he came close. “How long did I sleep for?” he asked. “A couple hours.” “You sleep?” She stared out at the forest, lifting her chin, closing her eyes slightly, tilting her head to best catch the forest breeze on her face. “Look at all the green,” she said. “I may never sleep again.” Harlan hugged her close for a long time, appreciating the breeze and the forest and all the green in ways he hadn’t for too long. When he finally spoke, the subject was heavy, but his heart was mostly light. “I need to get back to Leilani,” he said. He and Evie had never been ones to avoid talking about the hard subjects. “She’s my responsibility until Jaggar comes back.” Evie didn’t say a word, only nodded, and Harlan sensed there was so much she wanted to say, but she wouldn’t, not until she had it all worked out and categorized in her own mind, not until she was certain of her own stances and decisions regarding the matter. In the forest on the other side of their tiny subdivision, a black wolf moved stealthily along a forest path with purpose, heading west. “Where’s Trent going?” Harlan asked, wondering why the male was up and out so early. “To find Jaggar.” Shit. “Alone?” “Troy won’t go, he won’t shift back into a wolf, and Trent won’t take anyone else with him. He says the rest of you are too soft for the trip he’s about to make and he won’t wait any longer.” Harlan wished his friend well, glad someone was doing something. “Who have you been talking to?” he asked, knowing full well that Evie might know what she knew without talking to anyone, but she held up a hand to her head. “Wade.” Harlan nodded. Good deal. Official intel, and he hadn’t even had to leave this little love nest. He pulled his mate down the steps of the cabin, toward the forest, resolving to run with her one more time before he made love to her one more time before they went to the main house. But for that moment, he simply held her hand as they slipped under the canopy of trees, walking on light feet. “You ever considered going vegan?” he asked, happy to have someone to talk to again about the little things. The idiotic things. “I’ve been thinking about it. Eat more veggies, you know? Carrots, especially.” Evie laughed at him, softly, as was her way, holding his hand, their arms swinging as they did something that had been denied them for so long. Walked together. Talked together. Held hands and shared the moment together. “Harlan you’re a meat eater. What will you live on, air?” Harlan smiled up into the forest and squeezed his mate’s hand, not answering. She knew. He wouldn’t live on air. He would live on love.

Another unique shifter / time traveler addition to the OTM World

I do NOT consider these as stand-alone reads, as there are reoccurring characters, overlapping / consecutive timelines and overarching themes. I highly recommend this series be read in order for maximum reader satisfaction and to prevent.

⛔️ If you have not read the previous stories, the following may contain spoilers.

Contains subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some including adult language, a couple of steamy intimate scenes and violence such as references to, or scenes with kidnapping / abduction, murder, death, good vs evil, betrayal, assault, torture, etc.

The world building in this story can be confusing and there are a few scenes that need to be revised for clarity. This includes the relationship between Leilani and Evie. Are they twins? Doppelgängers? Just females that met at some time? As you can see, I still have questions around them. That being said, it is one of the most unique PNRs I have ever read. It involves time traveling, one soul inhabiting the others body, and different realms (Rhea’s meadow sounds wonderful BTW).

It is easy to see why this story was selected as the midpoint story. There are lots of threads leading forward, including the set up for Leilani and Jaggar for OTM8. I don’t know what all it will contain, but with two people having the ability to travel I am sure it will be wild. This is one of the reasons I am glad that I found this series and that it has been turned into a Kindle World (other authors can write stories using the same concept, characters, locations, etc.).

Here is a high level overview of how the story begins:

Harlan is a wolven that gets things done and considers himself a foot soldier. He lost his mate 29 years ago right after their mating ceremony. In the ultimate irony he mated on the day that all of the females died. Everline, aka Evie, was the adopted daughter of Burton the police chief. He went crazy after she died and so he stays out at his farm for the most part and others come over and spend time with him.

Every year Burton makes a cake to mark the occasion of their loss, and most years hardly anyone shows up. Harlan dreads it, but shows up for Burton. He has finally got to the point that it no longer feels like his chest is being ripped apart over losing Evie, but he expects to never have another mate or feel whole again. In truth, he is ready to join her in the Haven and for everything to be over.

Evie didn’t travel to the Haven when she died and she is not sure why. Instead she went to Rhea’s meadow and she has been able to watch over everything that has occurred with her loved ones. A few times she was able to help them after she found Leilani, such as stopping Bruin before he arrived at his cabin and was blown up along with it. Her goal now is to prevent Khain from winning until she moves on, as she has travelled to the future and seen the world when that was true … so do not want to go there again.

Then everything goes sideways when Evie finds a way to inhibit Leilani again and they arrive at the cabin where the dragengel is being birthed. Jaggar and Harlan both are there. Jaggar reacts strongly to Leilani and Harlan reacts to Evie … nothing confusing or dangerous here … right?! There is a reason Jaggar is called The Beast!

More than just emotional!
This book was exquisite. Finally found a book that took brain power to read and understand in the romance genre. It's not a usual read in that genre. Yowza though, if you take your time (no pun intended) to figure out what is actually going on with the paradox's of this time centred book, you will be blown away at the intricacies that Lisa must have fretted over for a huge amount of time.

I have always loved to read and got a book called "A Wrinkle in Time" for my 8th birthday, it was very much so over my head that I read that book about twice a year for 5 or so years before I could understand even half. (fitting that the movie comes out on my birthday) I loved that book, and later read the "Incarnations of Immortality" series by Piers Anthony and it also had a book in that centres around time, and I loved that one as well since I had some understanding of the concept in advance. If you find this book confusing try one of those or others like it before this one.

Once you can fairly easily follow along with the time bouncing around, you'll find this book will move you and stimulate you to no end. I loved the series before this, and now it's possibly the best romance series I've ever read. If you like to use your mind as well as feelings while reading this is it!!! I'm very sad for those of you who gave up or couldn't get it, it really is a fantastic read. The characters love so deeply and will do anything to help not only their mates but their brothers and sisters as well. Oh and the wee ones are adorable.

Do it, read it, spend the brain power to "get it" and fall in love just like I did!

Biggest cluster$<%$ of the series

Almost stopped reading...this book is all over the place but Harlan is all over the place and I just can't bring myself to like his character. I've read each other book cover to cover and NEED to keep up with all characters but a quarter in really didn't think I could do it. First
series ever this has happened to me and I typically read 5 books a week. I hate to leave bad review... ever, but this was just SO FRUSTRATING!! And the end was just too much! Too much happening WAY TOO FAST! Things that definitely needed more explanation, more time given to just digest! Talk about overload. Even though this is part of a series there's just too much left hanging I'm so confused, overwhelmed definitely frustrated just wtf just happened??!! To the author I really hope you read your reviews I'm not bashing you I really do enjoy this series but this book was a hot hot mess. If you need more time to put together the story, need to make the book or series longer I'm all for that, with 2 books out left to go I'm really hoping it's only this book that will leave me twisted up. Will see if I can stomach the start of next one, really hate to give up on a series I've grown to enjoy and characters I've invested in. Please keep writing but write it RIGHT I know you have the full story in there it's just this was too much too fast too rushed

One True Mate 7

It's an HEA but it's still heartbreaking. Thirty years apart. So painful.

The MMC is actually really interesting. He has a sort of ADHD frantic mind and there are some great lines about his experience,

“Oh my fuck inner self, thoughts, teeny electrical impulses I hear as inner monologue, shut the fuck up, shut the fuck up, shut the fuck up! Before I go insane!”

And this,

“He’d always been one to talk to himself, talk to Nowl, have inside jokes with himself, but it had never been quite so… relentless before. His brain was cracking.”

How two people could keep their sanity after so many years of pain and weirdness and fractured reality, I don't even know. As the MMC thinks to himself,

“This was it. The love, this was all he was good for. The everything. His entire life was good for nothing but to show his Evie how much he loved her”

And then she gets taken away from him for so long. So painful. Many tears.

On a different note, an example of the higher bar that MMCs in romance novels operate at,

“Boys only cared about their nut, so that’s what they talked about, for about three words and then they were done. Men cared about their female’s orgasm, so that’s what they talked about.”

How to talk dirty like a grown man 101. The MFC is a lucky lady for the next 30 plus years….
