Ryker is poised to become Prime Alpha of the Staunton Valley Pack, taking over from his father. But Ryker’s sexuality concerned his pack. Because he preferred mating with men his pack questioned whether he could take a female mate and perpetuate his line. Ryker thought this was ridiculous and didn’t feel the need to procreate just to satisfy some old tradition. After an argument with his father about this issue he takes off to clear his head and finds himself at a shifter bar where he finds something, or rather someone, a rare male Omega. Instinct takes over and Ryker is forced into action to save the Omega from the Alpha who plans to sell him. But the last thing he wants to do is take advantage of a young man looking to gain his footing in the world.
Raised in foster care, Toby aged out and found himself on the streets, unprepared for the real world. He was, however, about to enter a program that would house and feed him while he learned a trade. A gang of werewolf shifters dashed this hope when they kidnapped him from the streets. Their Alpha planned on selling him to the highest bidder. The cruel Alpha didn’t hesitate to tell him why. Toby was a rare Omega wolf and coming into heat he was an irresistible draw to any Alpha wolf. Moreover, Toby would want to mate with an Alpha regardless of the consequences. He dreads his future until a young Alpha comes into the bar who literally steals him from his fate.
Can Toby and Ryker outrun the abusive Alpha while navigating the tricky territory of Toby’s heat. And can they do so without altering both lives inexorably?
I might have enjoyed the book more if the author had used an editor. There were soooo many missing/wrong/repeated words for such a short book. The story telling was a little disjointed but, overall, it was okay.
I was a little confused and frustrated with Ryker and some of his actions in the story until they were explained in the end. Toby’s personality was kind of all over the place, meek one minute and defiant the next. The ‘climax’ (the council) was not as major as I expected and everything concluded fairly quickly and easily.
I’ll probably check out the next book since I apparently already own the series.
***** POV… third person
Standalone or series… book 1 in series CAN be read as a standalone
I liked it a lot. Story was nice and the characters were very lovely. I didnt like the spelling errors but it was a nice read. Sexy levels where nice kept me longing for the moment for the two. I loved the story till mostly the end. It felt rushed I didnt get to know there baby we dont get to see toby through pregnancy we dont get to see them later in life with there family even a few more chapters would have been nice. I felt the council meeting was kinda too soon. I would read more from them in future. And I really wish to see maybe more of these characters in the future? Hopefully one day.

Good story line, likable characters, plenty of action and spice. Fun weekend book. I think that with a bit of editing I would rate this one even higher. I'll be looking for more from this author. My copy came with five more stories: Valor's Peak, Fated Shifter Mates, Fated to a Dragon, Taken by the Next Alpha. Yipee! Adult read
This is a sweet lite, fun little trilogy. If you walk into it knowing that it’s short flawed but a fine little diversion it will scratch an itch. All three books can be read in one day but they are fun they are enjoyable and they are shifters which is really what I was in the mood for. I wasn’t in the mood for a baby but then when am I ever so Whoop Dee Doo.
The story is poorly constructed, replete with random grammatical errors, missing or incorrect words, and shallow plot. It’s a start, but could really benefit from the services of a good editor. Character development is minimal, and the pacing is irregular. It does end on a positive note.
The storyline was good, but it could have been better. The whole story seemed a bit rushed, too short, or just not enough substance. There were also A LOT of mistakes. It needs an editor, and if there was one, then they didn't do a good job. So, this is good if you're just looking for a quick read to pass the time.
To be honest this is a failed 5 stars. Great story line, loved the banter, dialogue. Characters were real. But the lack of editing was quite disconcerting. It's like no effort was made whatsoever. Will definitely read again.
This was a pretty fun story, but the writing was not up to the standard that most novels of this type usually have. Overall decent but I would not read again.
I really enjoyed reading this series of stories! Although I am a heterosexual 52 year old woman, I have been always open minded and supportive of the gay community. These stories were highly romantic and enjoyable to read! I loved all the characters! Some of the stories I wished could have gone farther into the characters lives! Great storytelling Mr. Briggs! Would love to read more!
Quick and decisive....just like the minds of Ryker and Tobie. A little adventure, a little intrigue, and an intense meeting of mates. I enjoyed this story.
Dirty gay paranormal "romance". Not well written, not well narrated (definitely needs practice), but this book is just fun and funny to read. Only two and a half hours long, cheap. Story moves too quickly and doesn't really make sense. Just really bad writing. And the males get pregnant?? Bizarre. Apparently there is a whole sub-genre of books surrounding the idea of the Omega werewolf. I'm sure there are better examples of this idea out in the world.
Multiple short stories, i don't like boods like this. There's no depht to the story and everything is so rushed. I'm very dissapointed specially when books like this trick you believing is one full story. Managed past half the 2nd story but dnf'd too rushed, lack of substance. No stars!
