Recently discharged from the military, Mikala Flynn is a woman on the edge—guilt-ridden, depressed, battling war wounds and personal demons. The world and the relationships as she knew them no longer exist. Now, the streets of New York, the bottle, and anonymous sex have become her solace.
In the midst of a fire escape bender, Flynn overhears her crazy-like-a-fox grandmother and her art-world cronies planning a daring theft of a valuable historical document. Eventually Flynn crashes the party and agrees to take on the heist herself. Along the way, Flynn runs into, both literally and figuratively, an alluring, mysterious thief who throws multiple wrenches into the works.
Can Flynn pull off the job without falling victim to vodka and lost love…and somehow begin to find herself along the way?
I received an ARC copy of this book from the Publisher via Netgalley and voluntarily leaving my review.

Amazing story of love, sacrifice and misguided noble gestures.
Flynn and Kate meet as high school teenagers. They are each other's first loves.
They come from different backgrounds but have some shared interests - volunteerism, art. Jewish heritage and serving the greater good.
Together they survive the Twin Towers attack, colleges, having different life goals and careers.
Flymn's career advances and takes her to a special ops team. And therein lies their biggest challenge. Long term separation, PTSD, alcoholism.
I really enjoyed this book - the story moves quickly and. Is very descriptive. My only complaint is that Flynn and Kate's story isn't fully resolved. I hope there isca sequel in the works!
This story...starts a bit slow, however there is purpose to it. As each story it needs a little explanation to what happens later. Flynn is amazing person with a lot on her shoulders! I love her character and I wonder if there is book #2 in the making! I cannot imagine the guilt and PTSD she had to deal with! Not to give out much, this story picks up and takes you places!
