Brenda K. Davies is the USA Today Bestselling author of the Vampire Awakening Series, Alliance Series, Road to Hell Series, Hell on Earth Series, and historical romantic fiction. She also writes under the pen name, Erica Stevens. When not out with friends and family, she can be found at home with her husband, son, dogs, cat, and horse.
I have read and loved every book in the Vampire Awakenings series and now book in the Alliance series and I absolutely loved each one so what I am about to say is high praise indeed! This is my favourite yet. Every book that I have mentioned above has had passion, adventure, excitement and I couldn't get enough of them, this book has that all in abundance but it has managed to ratchet up the already high intensity and action and the passion. I was on tenterhooks so often that I lost count. I am absolutely loving this series. This book was incredible!
BOUND BY VENGEANCE, Alliance Series Book 2, is now live! Get your copy everywhere ebooks are sold and in paperback! I wrote this series under my other pen name.
Chills....I got chills as I finished the Epilogue!!!
World build: True to book 1. Solid world no veering off the tracks by Davies.
Storyline: Is an amazing build off of book 1. The way Davies is building the suspense of the upcoming Alliance vs Savages is superb! By the end of this book and I mean all the way to the epilogue I was glued to the pages and my heart was racing a smidge. Granted I just downed some sweet and sour chicken but I blame the book not the sodium.
FMC: I wish I could come with a better word to describe Vicky.... which is one of the many reasons I could not make it as an author ..... she is just cool. Definitely a character you would find yourself wanting to hang out with and get to know. Now she has depth do not misunderstand me. She has a wicked backstory but her way of handling it just amplifies her cool factor.
MC: Badass, extremely intelligent, and take or leave it type of leader....Nathan was drool worthy. He has so much on his plate but he never waivers from making the best decisions for the Hunters and for his mate, Vicky. I have not read many books where the MC takes the paths Nathan did from the start. Most would have mangled the relationship with their mate and their people before getting it right. Nathan does none of that. He was a near perfect MC.
Secondary Characters: Are amazing and EVERY book should have well written secondary characters. It take the book to a whole nother level. Again I find more and more I want to see more from!
4.5 - Wasn't Too Sure of the Heroine At First - Stars
I'll start this review by saying I wasn't a big fan of the heroine of this book going into the story. She is the twin sister of the heroine of one of The Awakening series books. I thought she was too flighty, too sexually aggressive (one of my least favorite type of heroines) and just selfish. However, I got past that when reading her book. Yes, she was still some of those things (sexually aggressive) but she had reasons for her behavior. It fit with this book.
It's been a long day and I am super tired, so I'm not going to write a long review. I'll just say that I really ended up loving this book. It was super exciting and so much is happening. This series really kicks it up a notch. Plus unlike The Awakening series, The Alliance series is a continuous story and should be read in order. Each book leads to the next.
The Hunters and the Defenders have joined forces, The Alliance, and are trying to stop Joseph and the rest of the Savages. Joseph has disappeared after the events of the previous book. They know that Joseph is trying to build an army of Savages but they don't know where he is getting the new recruits. When it is discovered where these new Savages come from, it is a nightmare that is just beginning.
The romance is between the head of the Hunters and a vampire. Of course, theirs is a forbidden love but they are fated mates and they fall for each other, though Vicky tries to keep her distance. She knows they can't ever be together.
Anyway, this is quite the rollercoaster ride and I really loved this story and am so ready for the next book. My library didn't buy that one so I may (and probably will) buy it on Kindle.
I highly recommend this series for paranormal lovers. It is really good. You don't have to read The Awakening's series first but I would recommend it.

Okay so out of all the books between The Vampire Awakenings and The Alliance series this one is my absolute favorite. Brian and Abby’s story was my fave so I should have known her twins story would become my new favorite.
First off the chemistry between Nathan And Vicky is so enthralling. Before the book I hadn’t thought about all the complications that would come from their relationship but in reading it o kept wondering how everything would work out. I just knew Vicky was going to lose her mind and Nathan wasn’t going to be able to be with her. I thought maybe this would be the first time where the bond wouldn’t become completed because of the stipulations surrounding their relationship.
And then discover my that not only is Joseph turning the people who lived in the pipes but was also turning hunters. That scene from the book brought chills. I was so immersed freaking about the stronghold in India. And then the one in New Hampshire.
And then Killeen and Simone. We get a story from a savages point right?!?! I mean I’m just freaking buzzing and cannot wait till their story is released. I am so ready for this.
Thank you Brenda K. Davies for this amazing book and wonderful set of series. This has completely rocked my work haha. And I certainly hope one day this can be a series on HBO or Starz or something. I would love to this play out on the screen.
OMG…”Bound by Vengeance” (Book 2 in the Alliance Series) is absolutely AMAZING. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time I was reading. Nathan and Victoria’s story begins when Nathan saves Victoria from a bunch of Savage vampires. He then helps her get revenge on the vampire that held her in captivity. She agrees to help him get revenge on the Savage vampire that killed his father. However, she is reluctant to be near him because she knows Nathan is her mate and that they can never be together. Brenda K. Davies doesn’t disappoint and takes you on a roller coaster ride of emotions, with plot twists that will leave you in disbelief. You will experience humor, suspense, love, passion, drama and so much more. Trust me, when you get to the end of the book, your mouth will drop open in total shock!! Once you are finished, don’t forget to get your Pre-order in for “Bound in Darkness” (Book 3). I DID!! (Also, if you haven’t read “Eternally Bound” (Book 1 in the Series), what the heck are you waiting for. 1-Click now and start reading!!)
Victoria and Nathan, they do say opposites attract don’t they lol but it does make it more difficult to go with that attraction when the worlds they live in seem to be against their union as well, plus there are so many other things happening in their supernatural world it’s a wonder Vicki and Nathan have time for themselves but when the mating begins for a true vampire it’s not something that can be stopped, poor Vicki.
Another brilliant supernatural story from one of my favourite authors
Vampires and hunters have formed an alliance to destroy the savages led by the terrible Joseph. Nathan is the twin of the h of book 1 and the leader of the hunters. After the murder of his father by the savage he's on a mission to hunt and kill his father's murderer. For centuries hunters have believed that all vamps are bad but with the alliance in place a lot of the old ways are changing Vicky is on the hunt for her ex boyfriend, a purebred vampire she was sold by her ex and imprisoned and forcibly fed from by vampires for months. Rescued by her family she's trained for the day she can finally take her ex out. Tracking him to a club she finds herself outnumbered until the hunter she's drawn too steps in and together they kill the savages. With her ex gone and her trauma ever present Vicky decides to help Nathan track down the savages leader and end him once and for all.
******* It's depressing me going from Roman to Nathan 😔, I do not like this guy's inner thoughts at all. Considering he's the leader of ppl who follow archaic and outdated rules when it comes to women in their society it's no surprise that I'm not a fan of Nathan Side note- being without sex for 6 months is considered a drought?? 🙄 Anyways These two are drawn to each other Vicky recognises him as her mate but they've still got centuries of misconceptions to work through as well as prejudice from the elders of Nathan's group and of course the tradition of him being married off
****** Bottom line I've got a ton of quotes that I may add later on but for now I do not like Nathan!!! The Hunters general attitudes to women was disgusting. The male hunters go out into the world and are free to have sex with whomever they please yet the females are kept at the compound as sheltered naive weak virgins with their only purpose in life to be a wife and mother and carry on the hunter race. He had a lot of internal thoughts that made me want to punch him in the face with a brick The h wasn't much better, I struggled with her as well. She was supposed to come across as strong but she was just stubborn and at times stupid to me. She'd been through a seriously traumatic incident but whew I didn't like her much either In terms of the backstory running throughout these books.... it's clear now that Joseph isn't working alone as Hunter strongholds are attacked and hunters turned into savages. With Nathan claiming the h and turning vampire a lot of the hunters left and some were slaughtered. Joseph ends up once again getting away as we move on to the next book I forgot to mention I didn't like how their mating was handled, Vicky should've told him she felt they were mates before they had sex 🙄
Okay , I definitely enjoyed this one more than the previous book. The hunter plot line makes more sense, and it gives intriguing concepts with vampires, especially towards the ending.
I finally got Vicki's book, and I wasn't disappointed. She is so feisty, and her dialogues were cracking me up. I wish she had more family interactions. However, this focuses mostly on the hunters. I'm not sure I want to continue reading this same concept.
One thing I realize that made me so happy was the fact that the f m c was the one that changed the m m c into a vampire. I don't think i've read it in any of the books so far.
⭐️⭐️⭐️🌶🌶🌶 Nathan the sister of cadence is a vampire hunter but is mated to Victoria who is a purebred vampire who was kidnapped and fed from my other vampires aka the Savages. The entire story felt very forced since they were faded mate. The spice was okay it started to get a little steamy and seemed to just give up.
Not bad. Not great. Just enough quality to keep you reading/listening while you get your chores done.
Listened to the Audible Audiobook. I am only leaving a review here, not on Audible, as I refuse to type out two reviews when Amazon owns both companies and refuses to link Audible to Goodreads.
Ohh, this one definitely raised the stakes plot-wise. I’m giving this one only 4 stars simply due to personal tastes as I didn’t like Vicky’s character as much as Kadence for example. Don’t get me wrong, she was still entertaining and she and Nathan were PERFECT together, it’s just she doesn’t fit in to MY tastes. I can definitely see and understand her being much to others tastes though. And this book definitely deserves its higher rating on Goodreads. Whew! This series and the tension keeps getting more interesting… Mwahaha, onto Killean’s story!!
I have thoroughly enjoyed the preceding series and this one illustrating the tumultuous changes ahead of the Alliance as the vampires and hunters band together to fight for survival and revenge against the savages. You want nothing more than to see Joseph and Drake to get their asses handed to them.
While reading I couldn’t figure out what could possibly be the horrible thing coming at them. Well in this volume it was worse than I suspected and leads to some drastic changes for all involved. For their survival the threat leaves only one logical solution!! Will they come to the same conclusion that I have or perish due to old prejudice and fear? Will the Alliance hold and make them stronger together than they ever were apart? In the end will Nathan be able to hold his people together to fight the coming battles??
Well keep reading and you will see!!!!!!
Looking forward to the third book to find out if Killiean can be saved?? Is he truly gone savage?? My bet is no!!

So much happened in this one!! I can’t even explain or I’ll be spoiling this for someone. But OMG! I love how Nathan is with Vicky. They are perfect for each other.

oh my God I love this book series and I looked and there's a ton of books in it thank God it's been a little slow going I've had to return a few to audible because they just I couldn't get into them but anyway this is kind of like the Forbidden romance story again as we've seen many times so Vicky is a vampire and Nathan is the leader of the hunters and I was a little apprehensive about Nathan how this is going to work out because he seems to have issues with vampires even though he has agreed to the alliance with the hunters and the vampires coming together to fight the Savages Joseph is Lake is like the biggest enemy that's very difficult and you find just how difficult Joseph really is to kill it kind of reminds me of dragos in the midnight breed series so anyway but anyway what I think is really cute is there is a um Sanctuary for children who are homeless living on the streets whatsoever you want to call it but I think that's really great that the vampires created the safe place for these children and all that really just melted my heart but yeah Vicky is super independent which I love that about her but sometimes she's a little bit Reckless and she has like this Theory I'm not going to say what it is but to me you know if you're going to get hurt you're going to get hurt I don't think there's really any way to prevent getting hurt your heart broken but she has this theory that seems some minutes see she thinks it'll minimize the heartache but I I don't really think that's true but um she has a super Kick-Ass fighter though I think that's super cool having a woman character like that in a book is great but in the book there's this biggest mystery about Nathan whether he's going to become a vampire and how that's going to work out being the leader of hunters who Hunters are not typically into vampires the thing is is to be fully mated with a Vampire you have to become a vampire and then you have to claim each other and that's how you become Mates and the longer that you put that off the more kind of mad or crazy you can get and you can actually um and the hunters are all about this ceremony engagement ceremony just kind of like the hunters are very very old fashioned I would almost say like medieval like they just have this medieval thing going on um yeah it's kind of like I mean to me it kind of reminds me of a cult like how women are born to be bred as you know like like I'm breeding purposes but you will definitely have to see what happens in the book I'm not going to say but it's very interesting what happens I was kind of surprised let's just say that but the other thing is is there's a particular Hunter who finds out about Nathan and Vicky and let's just say is very very angry about it and tries to attack Vicky so that's kind of interesting too how that all plays a part in this um but then long behold so towards the end of the book we start to get a little sneak preview of the next book which is Killian which okay this is really strange I didn't even expect this would be happening but Killian is just like um I can't picture him being a mate with anybody he's so angry and volatile like he just seems like he's going to explode like every second about everything and he just hates everything and everybody so and it's funny because his mate is a hunter to end the saying goes sometimes Fate has a sense of humor but anyway Ronan towards the end says something about killing and I was kind of confused so we'll see what happens in the next book and I'm really excited to listen to it I was able to get it already and thankfully it's not one credit on Audible yay but yeah I love Nathan and Vicky I think they're super cute

2nd time reading the Awakened and Alliance series, Nathan grows on me more and more each time. And I love Brian so happy he is back for this one even a little bit.
Original review: I liked this book way more than I thought I would. Based on the character choices, I wasn't as excited to read it as I was for Ronan/Kadence, however, I'm glad I did. Nathan I liked from book 1 but I'm glad we got to learn so much more about him and I love him now. Vicky, has never been one of my favorites, even from the Awakened series I couldn't stand her much... however, I did really like how this book put her in a different light, you find out why she always acted the way she did and you see her really vulnerable and her growth in overcoming some of her past struggles. She still isn't one of my favorite characters but I like her a lot more after this book. This book was also very action packed as I'm assuming many in this series will be as they are fighting larger battles rather than just small things within single books, then ending of this one was a page turner for sure. Still holding out hope that one of these future books will be about Declan finding his mate!!!
So from the first book in the original series, Awakened, the following books are the offspring of Liam & Sera. This second Alliance book stars Vicky one of the twin Byrne girls and her craving drive for vengeance against ex-boyfriend Duke who sold her to be a vampire happy meal. Trauma tragedy and emotional scars greet Vicky on her quest. She just didn't expect help from Hunter of all Hunters leader, Nathan Holter. Nathan is on his own mission to take out the Savage vampire, Joseph who killed his father. Roller coaster ride of events push these two apart and together. However we are segue into the next story of Ronan's best friend, Killean. We got a glimpse of Killean and Nathan's former fiancee Simone. Killean informing us they are mates. The intrigue of what Killean plans and the cliffhanger left at story end by the King of the Vampires, Ronan will make the next book intense.

Five stars as usual. :) I loved the first book and I don't know if this one was as good or better because I love all of her books. Vicky and Nathan were amazing and the circumstances that they found themselves in were not easy to navigate. The plot and the plot twists were carefully crafted and the foreshadowing was great! I love how complex the characters can be and Vicky and Nathan had me devouring the book in under 3 hours. Vicky is not all that she seems and is a badass that has her sweet moments. Nathan has a lot on his plate, but is doing the best he can. He is a great leader who has compassion and honor to balance his warrior nature. Loved everything in this book and while I keep telling myself to slow down so I am not so anxious for the next one, great authors and books are hard to wait on. Eagerly awaiting book 3 and cannot wait to find out what plot twists will be next.
This is the second in the Alliance series and I am hooked and wait with anticipation for the next instalment. The story of Vicky and Nathan is passionate and exciting throughout, after reading the awakening series and the events that introduce you to Vicky, I always wondered if Vicky's story would be told, she has a confidence and resilience to her that you can't help fall in love with. Nathan the leader of the hunters with an aura of power but pure devotion to his people and making the alliance with Ronan a success, couldn't be a better match for Vicky. Though they are the complete opposites in one sense its clear from the start they need each other. The story itself has plenty of twists and turns to keep you in suspense, but shows you there is something big on the horizon for all these beloved characters. This is a great book and highly recommend it! x
I think this may be my favorite book in the Vampire Awakenings and Alliance books. It was a page turner. Once Nathan and Vicky started working together to find Joseph the story just took off and was packed with action, suspense, drama and love. The Savages were crazy! I think I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough and had to stop myself from skipping pages to find out what happened, when Nathan was talking to all the Stronghold leaders and some went black. From then on, the book had me at the edge of my seat. (Side Note: I was hoping Simone would fall for a vampire and when we got the insight to her run in with Killian I was ecstatic!!!!! Cannot wait till that book comes out this year. It’s going to be intense I think.) Nathan was fantastic!! I loved him and Vicky together. They are both great characters and had a fantastic journey and story.
Vicky is hunting Duke, on her own.. He leads her into a trap, but she is rescued by Nathan.. She had tried to avoid him because she knows he is her mate, but circumstances throw them closer together and they both feel the pull.. Duke is killed and Nathan decides Vicky is the one for him.. Nathan has ended the arranged marriages and he lets Hunters leave, who do not wish to part of the Alliance.. Nathan and Kadance share a vision... she always complains they flash by too fast, but when she is touching Nathan everything slows.. they see the Hunters who left being attacked by Joseph.. Roland gives them a way of finding where they are.. They fight with Joseph but an explosion means he escaped.. many disappear. I really like Vicky as a character and how she has developed I am revisiting the next instalment!

I am really enjoying this series so far! The whole relationship between Nathan and Vicky is another one of those "fated" things where if they stay around each other very long, something is bound to happen. The question is what. That may seem simple to answer, but not in this book. Nathan is now leader of all the hunters and Vicky is a purebred vampire. They could not be more opposite in that way, but they also have some things in common. The more you get into the book, the more you wonder whether they're going to seal the deal, or whether Vicky will eventually go off the rails crazy. And to be honest, it seems like Nathan is headed that way too. The end was pretty crazy and I look forward to reading about Killean. Something tells me that one is going to be rather dark.
I have submitted this review after listening to the audiobook of this title within the series set box. (Audible Membership) The head of the Hunters, Nathan never imagined that he would be attracted to a beast that his forefathers had hunted for generations. However, with the new knowledge of there being two different types of vampires. The good kind, trying to reduce their impact on everything, and safe guard innocents where possible. The other, the putrid smelling type that reduced their abilities with each life they took, but were h3ll bent on destroying anyone and everything. So with this knowledge, there could be an alliance between vampires and Hunters, to combine to destroy the savages, the feral vampires.
I was so excited when my pre-order landed on my Kindle. I started it right away and had a hard time doing anything else until I had finished the last page. Vicky is different than any of Brenda's other heroines. She's cocky, spunky, and much more worldly than what we're used to seeing in the VA series women, but she still possesses the heart and soul we all love. Nathan is everything we love about Brenda's heros. Brave, strong, protective, confident, and sexy. I recommend this book to anyone who loves a good supernatural action/romance, but I do recommend reading the Vampire Awakening series and Eternally Bound first.
