Fall in love with seven sexy and irresistible soldiers who find their courage and heart tested like never before in the battle for love! This multi-author collaborative series of contemporary romance novels is brought to you by bestselling authors Barbara Freethy, Roxanne St. Claire, Christie Ridgway, Lynn Raye Harris, Julia London, Cristin Harber and Samantha Chase. You won't want to miss a single one!

ZANE

Ex-soldier Zane Tucker is perfectly happy with his single life and his adventure watersports business. A gambler by nature, he figures the odds of finding a woman for forever are a lot longer than finding a woman for right now. And as a man of action and not emotion, he believes a woman with lasting romance on the mind would want someone with less hard muscle and more soft sentiment. But then his dog hurtles toward the new county librarian, yanking Zane into her delicate, pretty presence. Will they both scare her away? And why does that worry him so?

Harper Grace has a bucket list of goals to tick off and is determined to live every moment to the fullest by overcoming her usual shyness. No one will call her too timid and too boring ever again. But then a giant of a man and his equally large dog charge into her life and she can’t decide if she wants to take a step back…or step fully into Zane’s strong arms. She's been brave enough to change her life, but does she have enough courage to risk her heart?

Don't miss any of the sexy soldiers!

Zane by Christie Ridgway was a very enjoyable and entertaining read.

The storyline was easy to follow, the writing was well done and the drama was just enough to keep you turning the pages.
Zane and Harper were likable, relatable characters that drew me in and I enjoyed watching them connect, encourage and support each other.
I had no doubt they would have a long and happy life together.

description

Zane is a great addition to the 7 Brides for 7 Soldiers series, each book can be read as a standalone and I highly recommend them all.

How a person views themselves, is not necessarily how others see them. With a touch of humor and an abundance of heart and wisdom, Ms. Ridgway sets about making her presence known in an already mind blowing series. Zane is the jock, always on the lookout for his next adventure. Harper has gotten used to watching from the sidelines, now she's ready to try something different. Less watching, more doing. She's one step away from rethinking her approach when a matchmaking fur ball, takes a little gamble of his own. With an empowering message and an adorable cast of misfits, Christie Ridgway is on her way to stealing the show.

It’s funny, I probably never would have picked up a book from a series like this...7 Brides for 7 Soldiers...except, Christie Ridgway has become one of those authors for me...where I’ll read whatever she writes! She never lets me down either. In fact, when I first started reading this I wasn’t so sure. It seemed like I needed to read the two books before it to know what was going on, because I felt a little lost....and bored. BUT that was only a short time!! As soon as Zane (ex soldier, owns adventure watersports business) met Harper (Librarian), I was a goner...actually as sooner as Harper met Zane and Gunner, his big, lovable pooch...I was a a complete goner!!!

This was such a great story!! And I LOVED the message it sent!! They both were made to feel "Not good enough" by someone they thought they really cared about in their past, and it stuck with them. They always believed that about themselves. They had to finally learn that others didn’t see them the way they saw themselves. They had to learn to see themselves through the eyes of those who loved them. I loved that!!

But the story was SO entertaining!! I found it really light reading, and I needed that. It had angst, but it had so much comedy mixed in that I never felt completely frustrated because I was too busy LAUGHING OUT LOUD!! The scenes between Zane and Gunner were the best!! There was family, friendship, romance, heat and small town gossip. This is such a fun read that I’d definitely recommend it!!! I’m not sure about the rest of the series, as it’s written by other authors. But maybe, at some point, I’ll give it a try. Now that I’m interested in the rest of the soldiers, I might want to see how things turn out for them.

Harper ~
"She was in love with the man who rescued goofy dogs and who empowered shy librarians. She was in love with a man who loved his country and his family and gave them all he had. This honest, honorable man, who she could treat with no less honor and no less honesty." ~Zane by Christie Ridgway

I have heard of Christie through my book blogging ...yet I've not been able to get around 2 reading one of her book... got a chance 2 check out an ARC and give my honest review. sexy cover pulls ya in. Quick and fast paced read, curious bout the other 2 in this series? I just read more on Amazon, these are books from different authors in the collection. Neat idea!! I see that other say u should read the other books before you read this one, but others say it is safe to just read them separately, that is kind of a mixed review?? I recall the & 7 Brides movie ...is that Disney? I am new to Christie Ridgway writing & I will be checking out more from her soon enough. ( ;

Zane is book three in a series called 7 Brides for 7 Soldiers. Each book is written by a different author. I really enjoyed reading this installment of the series. The characters are very likeable, but so different from each other. Despite this, they really complement each other. I particularly enjoyed Zane’s goofy, loveable dog, Gambler (and I’m more of a cat person). This book has the usual hijinks that are so prevalent in Christie Ridgway’s books, which is why I really enjoy her writing. Despite the fact that the next title will not be written by her, I am looking forward to reading it. This is shaping up to be a really enjoyable series.

My first read from this author. This is book 7 but can easily be read as a standalone.

This was a really fun, easy read. A small town romance with plenty of laughs, great extended family of characters and a H & h who I immediately warmed to. Add in the right amount of heat and a sweet HEA & I will definitely be looking up more books in the series.

I received an ARC of this book

Good book. Zane came home to Eagle Ridge after his Army Ranger career ended in injury. Along with his brother, Adam, he started an adventure watersports business. He enjoys his bachelor life and sticks to women who don't expect commitment. That all comes to an end when his dog, Gambler, crashes into the new librarian, Harper, and knocks her over. Something tells him that his life will never be the same.

Harper moved to Eagle Ridge from San Francisco, determined to change her life. Naturally shy and introverted, she's been called boring once too often. She has a list of goals, and getting distracted by Zane wasn't in the plan.

I enjoyed watching the relationship between Zane and Harper grow. Though the chemistry between them runs hot, both have been burned in the past. As a young soldier, Zane fell for a Southern girl who allowed him to woo her, but when he got serious, she called him too big, too clumsy, and too rough around the edges for any woman. Thanks to her, he feels like the proverbial beast and destined to be alone. He often feels like a bull in a china shop, along with his neurotic dog, who really is. Risking his heart again is not in the cards. Zane also has lingering issues over his mother leaving the family after he outgrew his childhood asthma. Harper, too, has been hurt. Engaged to an attorney for two years, he suddenly broke their engagement when she reserved the church for their wedding. Not only did he claim she was too boring, but he cheated on her for six months with one-night-stands. She's not interested in another relationship.

Complicating matters, Zane's brother Adam and his sister Bailey have both recently found love interests. Though he won't admit it, Zane feels a little out-of-sorts. The townspeople say he's moping because he's still single and keep trying to set him up with various women. In a convoluted series of events, Zane claims that he and Harper are an item, forcing them to spend time together. I loved watching them get to know each other - the big, tough guy with a hidden soft spot and the petite librarian with an unexpected adventurous side. I loved seeing Zane's softer side come out as he showed Harper how wrong her ex was about her. I ached for him and his insecurities as his feelings for Harper grew, but he had trouble believing she would want him. I liked seeing Harper blossom under Zane's attention, discovering she's stronger and braver than she knew. There's a terrific scene when her ex shows up in Eagle Ridge expecting to pick up where he left off, and I loved seeing her disabuse him of that notion, aided and abetted by Zane. I loved their "aha" moments when each one realized the depth of their feelings. Zane's big moment was sweet and emotional, and I loved how it happened.

There was a secondary romance between Zane's father, Sam, owner of the local diner, and the diner's manager, Brenda. I especially enjoyed his reaction to her makeover.

Zane Tucker is a man’s man. Standing at 6’4, he is the strong muscular type. He is all raw power with very little softness inside. He knows what women want…and it is not him at least not in the long term kind of way. Town gossip has it that Zane has been a bit mopey lately. His brother and sister did happen to find their happily ever after, but he was quite content just the way things were. So, maybe he is a little lonely, but not lonely enough that anyone should be taking notice. Zane relished being alone, at least for the most part. he didn’t always have it easy with women. Rejected once before, Zane felt he didn’t deserve to be loved. It doesn’t matter though, he has his dog, Gambler to keep him company and give him affection.

Harper Grace is the town librarian. She is quite shy and looking to reinvent herself in the small town of Eagle Ridge. She is new in town after recently being dumped by her ex-fiance who admitted to cheating on her with other women. According to him, she could not fulfill his needs and well, was boring. Leaving San Francisco for small town life, she wanted to be someone different, to experience new things. While out and about handing out flyers for a library charity event, she was knocked over by Gambler. Gambler wasn’t the only thing she needed to worry about though. It was his owner Zane. He flustered Harper like no man has ever done before.

Can Zane and Harper find their way too each other and have the happily ever after they both deserve?

ZANE is such a sweet romance. You always know when you pick up a book by Christie Ridgway that you are in for a treat. Zane and Harper were so cute together and you know they were meant for each other right from the beginning. This is very much a character driven book where two emotionally scarred people find their way too each other. ZANE is book 3 of the 7 Brides for 7 Soldiers series and can be read as a standalone. Although, I would suggest reading the prior books as it is such a great series.

I am so enjoying these 7 Brides for 7 Soldiers books. This time we have Zane's story!

Zane Tucker is a confirmed bachelor, a happy one at that! He's fulfilled by his business, his dog, and his family and friends. He sees himself as relatively unemotional, and not a man who would be a good romantic partner. He's a bit of a bull in a china shop, and most women want a man with a little bit of a soft side, right?

Harper Grace is making a fresh start in Eagles Ridge. She's determined to break out of her shy shell and live life to the fullest. When she's literally knocked to the ground by a gentle giant of a dog, is she brave enough to stand back up and accept Zane's place in her life, or will she step back into her shell to protect her heart.

Zane and Harper's story is not an insta-love at all! They both have major walls around their hearts due to past relationships. They need to learn to trust their own judgement and also trust each other. Their slowly developed romance was perfect for these two characters and a joy to watch. Up next is Wyatt and I can't wait! ~ Missy, 4 stars

I was pulled right into this story. The story has love, laughs, and heartbreak.

Before reading this story please read the below books first
Ryder (7 Brides for 7 Soldiers #1) by Barbara Freethy
Adam (7 Brides for 7 Soldiers #2) by Roxanne St. Claire

This is Harper and Zane’s story. Zane is out of the military and working at his adventure watersports business. He does not think with his history he will find a forever woman. He has his work and his dog and is good with that. When his dog runs into the county librarian Harper he wonders if she is going to make him want for more for his life. Harper is shy, but she has a bucket list of goals about her life she wants to change. When a big man and a dog almost run her down she wonders if changes things in her life is for the best. But the more she gets to know the man and the dog the more she falls. Can these two who are so different be good together? Can Zane believe he is enough for Harper?

I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I recommend this book.

I'm so very impressed with this series so far. The different authors really have worked well together for consistency of story line. Three books in and the writing is so fluid, it's difficult to tell they were written by different people.

This is Zane's story. Poor Zane...still single and mopey.....at least according to the town gossips. His sister and brother have meet their HEA. He isn't up for a forever kind of thing, but maybe he could be persuaded? Harper isn't looking for a relationship right now either. But Zane's crazy dog has other ideas. He seems to keep pulling the two of them together.

Family issues aside, Harper and Zane are perfect together. Nice humor and a bit of steam. Great to meet Noah on a more personal level. All the guys together and Ms Woody make for a fun read. Can't wait for the next one.

This was a cute short read of how opposites attract. Zane was bigger than life and Harper was extremely shy and always considered herself to be sort of invisible. They met the funniest way. This book is a good laugh with cute romance. They tried to keep things casual but it was difficult. Zane seemed to have a little bit of anger issue but it was tolerable.

I read this ARC at no cost to the author.

Zane by Christie Ridgway a four-star read that is full of promise. This is the third book in the 7 brides for 7 brother’s series, but each book is stand-alone and written by a different author, but they do have a theme running through the series. This is my first read by this author, but it won’t be my last as she writes people I want in my life, and she writes with a humour that mad everyone leap of the page. The only negative point I found was that it was everyone was so well written but the situation seemed to jump from nothing to everything in too few pages, but I still loved the story as a whole.

I love the MGM movie, 7 Brides for 7 brothers, which was based on The Rape of the Sabine Women, This series has nothing to do with that- no bridal kidnappings.

I adore every book that I have read from Ms Ridgway, so jumped at the chance to read a free copy (ARC) as a member of her Facebook group. I have not read the previous 2 books, but the author gives enough background that this book can be read as a stand alone.

Eagle's Ridge was founded by 4 ex WWI GIs. Following the tradition, most of the youth people enlisted in the armed forces. Meanwhile, two of the original 4 had a falling out and there has been a feud between the 2 families. In the first book, Navy pilot Ryder Westbrook is shot down and returns to build a airport field but needs the help of Bailey Tucker. The second book is about one of Bailey's brother, Adam, a Coast Guard rescue swimmer who has a dream of starting a youth adventure camp in his hometown and enlists his twin's help.

This book is about Ex Army ranger, Zane Tucker, injured and returned home to Eagle's Ridge and started an adventure water sports business with his twin brother Adam. When he was young he had Asthma, making him much smaller and weaker than his twin. Eventually, he grew out of it- and kept growing until he surpassed his brother is size. Once he was better, his mother abandoned the family to move to Hollywood and became famous in a long running show, in which she ironically played a mother. Deep down, Zane fells she left because of him not needing her anymore. When he was a young soldier at Ft. Knox in Kentucky, he fell for a Southern belle, who allowed him to woo her, but when he asked her to marry him she told him he was too big, clumsy, loud for any woman to consider him as a husband. He therefore feels like he is a beast and destined to be alone. He won't talk about feelings and feels like a bull in a china shop. He also has a large but timid dog, Gambler, who literally is a bull in any shop.

Shy Harper Grace left San Francisco after her fiance broke their 2 year engagement on the day she booked the chapel. He told her she was boring and he had been cheating on her for the last 6 months with 1-night stands. Now she is trying to reinvent herself as the new county librarian, to be bold. She meets Zane when Gambler literally runs her over. There is instant chemistry, but they are both gun shy. Can they overcome their baggage and lack of trust to see what is right in front of them?

This is another winner from Christie Ridgway. One negative about the series. Adam and Zane are suppose to be twins, who look very much alike, but the models on the covers of the two books look nothing alike. I know stock photos are used, but both models are on so many covers that they should have used the same model for both books. Zane was described as having dark hair, and blue green eyes.

There’s something comforting about a seven book series. For me, I like it because I don’t have to decide what to read next - I just wait for the next one to release and start reading when it’s available. But the issue with this 7 Brides for 7 Soldiers series is that with all the books being written by different authors, I may be wanting to find out about one of the soldiers, and not really care for the writing by that author. Which is the case with Zane.

I’ve never read anything by Christie Ridgway before. I was looking forward to it though, because I always like to find new authors. However, my impression after the first chapter was that she must usually write regency romance or historical romance, because much of her dialogue (or internal thoughts of the characters) is stilted and old fashioned. Mud was “transferred to your clothes” and “Do you need medical assistance?” and “enticed him into a bet” and “Men don’t customarily ask for my phone number” are just some examples of phrases that don’t seem to fit in a novel that’s supposed to take place during current times. I kept thinking “no one talks like that!” But Ms. Ridgway doesn’t write regency or historical romance, so that makes her writing, to me, to seem just...weird.

But I forged on, even though I’m getting kind of tired having the town history - including the Capulet/Montague-esque feud - and all the main characters rehashed every time (and this is only book three of seven) because I want to know about Zane! There also continued to be out-of-place phraseology and words. No book that takes place in modern times should use the word virile. Multiple times. And men, especially ones that are characterized as macho, don’t take notice of a woman’s “fine-pored skin.”

But I kept reading…

Then we get to our first love scene, and our heroine’s lady parts are described as “beautiful petals” - and I’m not sure if I can keep reading this! After rolling my eyes a couple times, I continued. Because I’ve come this far, I’m not going to let some less-than-stellar writing keep me from accomplishing my goal of reading all seven of these 7 Brides for 7 Soldiers books. And now I realize that goal may be all that keeps me reading some of them.

Clearly Christie Ridgway isn’t my cup of tea. For the life of me, I can’t figure out why so many people have rated this book so highly. The story of Zane and Harper wasn’t awful, but it wasn’t particularly compelling, either. It took me a whole week to read this book, and I read a couple others in between starting and finishing Zane. Hopefully I’ll connect better with the next book.

After finishing Adam, I had high hopes for his twin’s book. Unfortunately, Zane didn’t live up to my expectations. I felt like there were a lot of things that were never fully explored, minimal conflict, and the relationship, while it had terrific potential, wasn’t well developed. That being said, it was a fun, light read, and I did enjoy the few hours I spent back in Eagle Ridge.

Zane is book THREE of the 7 Brides for 7 Soldiers series. Each book is a stand-alone and focuses on a different couple. I love the world building in this series, especially since each book is written by a different author, so I would highly suggest reading all of the books in order, but it isn’t strictly necessary. I have been quite impressed by how seamlessly each book flows into the next. It’s impressive.

While I do wish there was more build-up between Zane and Harper, more emotionality built into their relationship, I do think they had great chemistry when they were together. They just could have used a little more on page interaction to sell their connection. A lot of their time spent together as a couple, especially in those pivotal days before they realized how they felt about one another was off page, so it was hard to gauge how deeply they felt for one another.

Zane had plenty of chances for some heavy conflict, there were a few times I was sure a situation was heading for a blow-up, but nothing ever happened. Even the climax of the book felt lackluster to me. I know plenty of readers prefer a story where it’s mostly smooth sailing, but I need a good catalyst to keep me interested in a story. There were a couple of situations that had been built up for all three books in the series that ultimately fizzled out when finally addressed in Zane.

Zane is the first book I’ve read by Christie Ridgway, so I am unsure if this book is typical of her work, if it is I doubt I’ll be revisiting her books. The entire book felt rushed, almost as if it were a filler to get to the next book in the series and hastily wrap up a couple of storylines that had been built up in the previous two novels. I don’t have a word count for any of the three novels, but Zane felt like it was significantly shorter than its predecessors; this lent to the rushed feeling of the story. I think, had the book been even another 20 pages or so longer I would have felt a lot more resolution about several of the things I was disappointed in.

What happens when an author throws a shy, but trying to be brave, librarian and confirmed hot guy bachelor together? SPARKS! Zane Tucker is having fun running his business and being free, that is until the rest of his family seems to be falling in love. Now he appears to the talk of the town with his sulking and it only makes him more irritated. That is until his lovable, but fear filled, lab named Gambler, knocks down a woman that suddenly catches his interest in a way that no one has before. But Harper Grace is not what anyone would consider a good time girl that Zane normally goes for. She appears to be a good girl.

And that is exactly what Harper wants to stop being thought of. She had a relationship that was boring and predictable, except for her ex’s philandering ways. She wants passion and excitement, but she needs to learn to get over her shyness before she can get it. Maybe Zane can help her with that, if she thought he was interested in her in a real way instead of a way that will try to get the town off his back. Maybe being a pretend girlfriend can turn into something more, if only she can be brave enough to finally take that first step when it is offered.

I could say that ZANE was like so many other stories of the hot guy bad boy and the shy and sweet librarian, but it so wasn’t! I really fell in love with Zane and Harper. Christie Ridgway created a wonderful story that included laughter, uncertainty, vulnerability, and love. I went through all the emotions while reading and became intrigued with the other characters that popped up in the story. The whole story was wonderful, and the writing completely pulled in from the first chapter until the last. So much, I was sorry to see the story end and wanted more. I believe that I now have a new author to add to by auto buy list.

"I don't think now's the time to talk about that last kiss. I think we have to go directly to talking about the next one."

I am so hooked on this series!! The men of Eagle's Ridge are truly amazing!! Strong, heroes, alpha, and tender all at the same time.

Zane Tucker is the last Tucker sibling not all wrapped up in a relationship. He's fine with that. He's a perpetual bachelor, only looking for a temporary fun time. He's happy just hanging out with his dog, Gambler, and making juvenile bets with his friends. Until she comes to town to run the library. She's the complete opposite of every other woman he's ever been with, and the complete opposite of him. So, why can't he stay away? Can he make a bet with his heart that he can win and keep her at arms length? Or, will his emotions win out over his stubbornness? What Zane fails to realize, is that either way, he wins.

Harper Grace has moved her jilted heart from San Francisco to Eagle's Ridge for a do-over. She needs to break out of the stuffy socialite persona everyone made her out to be, and one to which she willingly conformed, and become her own woman. She never expected Zane Tucker. He makes her want to break out of her shell, try new things, become everything everyone said she wasn't. But, he's a puzzle to her. Sweet and tender one moment and stand-offish the next. A pure gentleman at dinner, and throwing punches in the parking lot an hour later. An amazing lover one night, and then scarce for days. He screams heartbreak but she can't help but want to risk it. Can she convince him they're worth the chance? Can she make him want to take the gamble?

I absolutely love this town. I wish it were real, because it sure feels real in this series!! There are 7 books total in this series and I can't wait to finish them all!!

This is a charming, small town romance about two people who fall in love even though they are completely opposite from each other. Zane and Harper are both vulnerable and insecure and don’t think they are lovable. This couldn’t be further from the truth, they just haven’t met the right person yet. I enjoyed this story and not only the two main characters, but all the secondary characters as well. The whole town of Eagle Ridge is watching Zane and Harper as they become friends and a relationship slowly blossoms between them. It is funny how everyone in town feels the need to comment, give advice and meddle. I enjoyed this sweet story with its endearing characters and fun plot.

Harper is the new town librarian. She is tired of being quiet, reserved and afraid to try anything new. She decides to make some changes in her life and one of them is moving to Eagle Ridge.

Zane is big, gruff and rough around the edges and he runs a wilderness adventure company. Zane assumes Harper could never be in interested in him and Harper assumes a man like Zane would give her a second look, but they are both pleasantly surprised. Harper doesn’t see Zane as loud and big and gruff and he doesn’t see her as mousy and boring. They bring out the best in each other. It is fun seeing these two spend time together and as they get to know each other, they feel more confident. They are good for each other and help each other through their issues. I thoroughly enjoyed this endearing story.

Thanks to the author for providing a copy of this book via L. Woods PR. The opinions expressed are my own.

Zane Tucker is happy with his life just the way it is despite everyone around him thinking else wise. He's happy for his siblings, but he doesn't see a reason to rock the boat. But when his pup knocks over the new town librarian, Zane starts to wonder if maybe his life is missing something after all.

Harper Grace was in need of a change when she landed in Eagle Ridge. The last thing she was looking for was starting a new relationship, but she can't deny the attraction she feels for Zane.

The reason Harper's last relationship ended still ring in her head, can she put those voices to bed and embrace the chance for something special with Zane? Can Zane finally admit that he wants a future a with Harper? Or will they both find reasons to walk away from each other before they even get started?

Zane is sexy, fun, heartwarming story about two people that help each other get over their past, embrace their present, and believe in a future they never knew they wanted.

The way Zane and Harper first connect is priceless... gotta love that Gambler. Each push each other out of their comfort zones while support each other every step of the way. It's easy to fall for this couple and wish them all the best.

I enjoyed this fun, engaging story with it's witty dialogue, charming setting, and compelling storyline.

I would recommend Zane us you love stories about two unlikely people coming together and finding a love that changes their life for the better.

Zane can be read as a standalone or as part of this sensational series.

I loved reading Zane by Christie Ridgway, the third book in the 7 Brides for 7 Soldiers series. Zane Tucker was the sickly twin until he outgrew his asthma and became as strong as Adam; unfortunately, that was the same time his mother left them for the bright lights of Hollywood. After a shoulder injury forces his departure from the Army, he returns home to Eagle’s Ridge to open a water-sports business. Zane believes that his large size makes him uncoordinated, like a bull in the china shop, not unlike his undisciplined dog. When his dog, Gamble, knocks down Harper Grace, Eagle’s Ridge’s new librarian, Zane finds himself a new friend. Harper came to Eagle’s Ridge for a new start, a way to change from being the quiet, introvert who was too boring for her ex-fiancé. Harper compares Zane and herself as a leopard and dust bunny, not a good fit. Zane, Mr. Causal Relationship, decides to prove her wrong and that just maybe, a leopard can change its spots. There is also a secondary love story between Zane’s dad and the manager of his diner within this story.

Ms. Ridgway is a wonderful story teller, making me feel as if I was right there and making me want to spend time in Eagle’s Ridge. Her books draw me in, making me forget the world around me. I highly recommend this book to other readers and am looking forward to the next entry in this series.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Zane by Christie Ridgway is book #3 in the “7 Brides for 7 Soldiers” series. I have not read books 1 & 2 of this series (by different authors), but will be ordering them for my Kindle. In this book, Zane Tucker is former military and is the owner of an adventure watersports business with his twin, Adam (book #2). He was sick as a child with asthma, but has outgrown this and now feels that he is too “rough around the edges” for a woman to commit to a relationship with him (there is a back story to this). He meets the heroine of our story, Harper Grace, when his dog knocks her over. Harper is the new town librarian and moved to Eagle’s Ridge after her fiancé broke up with her. Shy Harper is determined to be more outgoing, adventurous and no longer “boring”. As with every book that Ms. Ridgway writes, the story is seamless, with characters that grab your attention and make you want to keep turning the pages. Although I have not read the first two books, Ms. Ridgway gives you hints of these two stories and their characters, but just enough that you are eager to get your hands on those books too! Ms. Ridgway is one of my favorite authors and when I read her books, I know that I am guaranteed a great story, witty dialog, and great believable characters. I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to give an honest review. (by paytonpuppy).

Zane sees himself one way and only one way. He was a very sick child whom didn't get his height and strength until he was close to an adult. He feels he is always a bull in a China shop since he always seems to be knocking something over, or he feels he scares women and small children.
But of course others do not see him that way, such as Harper Grace.

Harper moves to Eagle Ridge to run the library and to also move on from her life that was in San Francisco. Her ex fiance and to also get out of her so called boring shell. Harper finds her way in Eagle Ridge and maybe comes out of her shell.

A fur ball of a dog in a way plays match maker in this story, since Gambler pretty much knocks Harper off of her feet and Zane is there to pick up the pieces to say.

These two both think they just have a sexual attraction, but it is so much more. Zane doesn't think he is a family man or can be a husband or father. Harper sees herself as meek, quiet, and boring. However each other see each other differently and show them how they are truly seen.

Loved this story and getting too see some of the new characters and some of the old. It was great to see the family dynamics and how we perceive ourselves is not always how others see us.

Reviewed on Behalf of http://bookaddict.live,
This is a series of interconnecting Books all centred on Eagle’s Rock, a town founded by four world war two veterans. Zane grandfather Sam being one of them. Zane is depressed because his siblings have all found there soulmates, and he doesn’t think he fit to be around a decent woman. Zane is 6foot 4inches and is clumsy always knocking thinks over. So at the beginning Zane was trying to convince himself that he is ready to be the unmarried uncle.
Zane also rescued a big beast of a dog called Gambler, who panic’s when he hears certain noises. When Gambler rushes off and knocks down the new Librarian Harper Grace.
Boom and clatter seem to be Zane and Gambler’s signature entrance. I really enjoyed this book, Harper and Zane were perfect together. The other characters had lots going on. This had me chuckling at times, with meant lots of funny looks coming my way.
There is a lot happening around the main couple, so a great mix of character interaction. Harper and Zane were great together making this an entertaining read. I am sorry I keep talking about Zane, but he is so sweet and hunky I wanted him for me. I'm sorry Harper, but his is mine.

This is the first book I have read by this author and I am very impressed. Zane is dreamy, but so hot and sexy! He's ex-military and living the single life. His siblings have their soul mate and his small town is determined to find him a woman. I loved seeing this town worry so much about him being alone, even when he didn't.

Until quirky librarian Harper comes into his life, he thought he was happy with the life he was living. But all it takes is one run-in with her and his life is forever changed. She's everything he doesn't realize he is missing. The more he is around her, the more he wants to get to know her. Poor Harper didn't know what this beast of a man could want with her. She has a failed relationship and considers herself to be a plain Jane. She knows this sexy man could never love her.

But Zane can see beyond the surface and begins to like what he's seeing and feeling. He realizes he wants the happiness for himself that his family has. Zane is one man you cannot help but to adore. I love how much of a family man he is. That is one of his best qualities and their family is so sweet! Harper is just what he needs to make him open his heart and they are just perfect for each other! Now I want to read more of this series!

Zane, the third book in the 7 Brides for 7 Soldiers series by Christie Ridgeway, is a delightful story.

I loved the small-town setting and the closeness of the town residents. The story had a bit of humor, thanks to Zane's dog, Gambler, but I knew right off the bat that Zane was a keeper. Though a bit of a goof at times because he wasn't really taken seriously, there wasn't a single thing about him I didn't enjoy. His heart was right where it needed to be.

Harper was a bonus to the story for me, and I really liked the bit of angst between her and Zane. The two were destined to be together, and the author did a great job with placing obstacles in their way, as a test to their relationship.

If you're looking for a quick, sweet romantic story with two genuine characters, then this is definitely one you'll want to check out. The author's writing style is to the point and flows very smoothly. I think the cover is a little misleading and doesn't really fit the jest of what this story is about, but I'm glad I gave it a chance. There's lot of heart and promise and the town is one you'll be glad you stopped by to visit.
