The Christmas Truce

Rate this book
“Look, it’s us,” Nora said, holding up a Peanuts-themed Christmas card. On the front was the blond pianist Schroeder, the black-haired muckraker Lucy, and Snoopy.

“I’m the fucking dog?” Kingsley asked.

“You’ve humped your fair share of legs.”

After months of fighting a cold war with Søren, Kingsley and Mistress Nora sneak over to Sacred Heart in hopes of declaring a Christmas truce for one night with their infuriating priest. When the offer is accepted, the UnHoly Trinity celebrates the holiday together as only they can.

"The Christmas Truce" is a free novella set in Tiffany Reisz's award-winning Original Sinners universe. This story takes place three Christmases before the first book in the series, "The Siren."

Genre: Erotica
Type: Book 0.9 from The Original Sinners series
POV: Third Person
Rating:

Nora Sutherlin and Kingsley Edge had been estranged from their mutual lover Søren. In spirit of Christmas, they were determined to have a one day truce to enjoy the holiday like they used to.

“I think I belong to him. I think I’m supposed to belong to him.”

This novella covers my favorite era in the Original Sinners timeline - the time before The Siren. It made me feel all nostalgic lol!

It makes sense that Christmas makes us want to forgive each other, if only for a day. For Christmas, you see, is ultimately an act of forgiveness.

I've always wanted all three of them to stay as is. At least here I got to relive the Unholy Trinity at their kinky best :p

Tiffany Reisz gifts her newsletter subscribers a new Original Sinners short story every Christmas and they are always the perfect fix to get fans through another year of homesickness from these well-established characters. The Christmas Truce was Ms. Reisz's 2017 gift and it was lovely. It's themed with the power that Christmas holds to humble hearts, grant forgiveness, and allow people to come together and put estrangement aside if only for a short time. I absolutely loved The Christmas Truce and highly recommend reading it this holiday season or anytime really. It'll make you laugh, cry, and sigh, and make it near impossible not to schedule a series re-read ASAP. I will be revisiting this small but powerful story many times.

Note: The Christmas Truce is set during Christmas, approximately three years before The Siren, when Kingsley and Nora were estranged from Søren...and the title tells you all you need to know. And to Ms. Reisz's erotica fans, don't worry, she put something special in there for you. Remember when I talked about the spirit of Christmas allowing people to come together? Yeah... Merry Christmas ;)

My favorite quote:
"And that's when it happened, that's when Christmas came to her house. It wasn't in the tree and it wasn't in the kitchen and it wasn't on the mantel and it wasn't hanging in strands off the eaves or even knocking at her door. It was in that tiny hart on her card. If she'd blinked she would have missed Christmas."

5 'beautiful' stars

Re-read: 20 Dec 2019 (as part of Winter Tales collection) 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
First read: 31 Dec 2017 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

“I love the way he smells.”
“Frost on pine trees,” Kingsley said.
“Fireplace smoke in the distance.”
“New-fallen snow.”
“The way peppermint hits your nose,” she said, then laughed at herself. “We’re insane.”
“All his fault,” Kingsley said. “We were normal until him.”
“Damn straight we were. Both of us, little angels.”

I'm having such fun re-reading everything Sinners' related. And I'm loving everything, even more, the second time around. I don't remember this novella being so beautiful but reading it this time I just melted. Nora, Kingsley, and Søren are having a truce for Christmas and it's so wonderful to see them not trying to kill each other for a change.

“The only way you could ruin my Christmas is by leaving now,” Søren said, his words tender but his tone steel-tipped. “Burn the tree down, burn the house down, I don’t care. But don’t leave.”

There were, of course, sexy times involved...

“You two are going to kill me,” she said.
“And that,” Søren said, “is why the French call ‘orgasm’ the little death.”
“Fuck the little death,” Kingsley said. “That was almost a big death.”

And funny times...

“You’re eating his cookies?” Kingsley asked. “He didn’t say you could have any.”
“If you’ve sucked a man’s cock, you get to eat his cookies. In perpetuity. That’s the law.” Nora unbuttoned Kingsley’s coat for him and pushed it off his shoulders.
“Is it?” he asked, shrugging out of the coat.
“It is.”
“In that case,” Kingsley said, “give me one.”

And there's also my favorite Søren's sermon.

God gave us His Son in an act of extravagant forgiveness. And we did try to break Him, and it looked like we had succeeded for a few days. Oh, but we didn’t break Him. Because Jesus is love and love, real love, can be dropped and kicked and knocked around, whipped and beaten and nailed to a cross. And yet it lives. True love lives and it lives forever.

On Christmas Eve, Nora is feeling lonely and missing Søren. Though Nora made certain choices, she and Søren have been separated but never far apart. With Kingsley to keep her company, they reminisce and share their Christmas wishes with each other until they decide to attend midnight mass.

“I think I belong to him. I think I’m supposed to belong to him.”

Upon being reuniting with Søren, the longstanding friendship, love and submission is ever present as they agree to a truce for one night. With this union, wishes are granted for these characters with incredibly erotic scenes between this unholy trinity.

“Mais…it is Christmas. You want me at your threesome? Ask nicely. Gift-wrap it a little for me.”

Divided into two parts with the first being more reflective, the storyline comes full circle incorporating longstanding emotions and physical cravings. Getting more of Nora, Søren and Kingsley, especially in these written scenes, is a feast for the senses and a wish come true. I highly recommend The Christmas Truce!

The Christmas Truce is a short story set about three years before The Siren at a point when Nora and Kingsley are fighting with Soren and have pretty much cut him out of their lives. They both still love him though and Christmas gives them the perfect excuse to call a one night truce between them. As a huge fan of the Original Sinners series I love that Tiffany Reisz still gives fans little snapshots of her character's lives in her free short stories every Christmas.

This one was brilliant, I love these three together and there are some really heartfelt and emotional scenes between them. Of course this being an Original Sinners story means it's also incredibly hot and it just wouldn't be the same if the three of them hadn't ended up in Soren's bed! This may be a quick read but it packs a punch and it left me contemplating a reread of the series.

I love it already!

Yup! I didn't even have to read it to know I would love it. Kingsley is in it — of course I would love it.

In these last days I've read quite a few Original Sinners stories, it almost feels like good old times. And old times is when The Christmas Truce takes place, though the Sinners would probably call them complicated old times.

It was a time when Kingsley and Nora weren't on the best of terms with Søren, to put it mildly. Given what Søren meant to them, and what they meant to Søren, their strained relationship had a way of making them all miserable. That Christmas during their estrangement Kingsley was feeling rather blue, and with Juliette away, his mind started remembering what it shouldn't, so he went to his Mistress Nora who wasn't in a much better mood. Over wrapping presents and drinking wine, conversation inevitably turned to Søren. Nora told Kingsley about another Christmas she and Søren weren't speaking to each other, and Kingsley shed some light on that time, but also on the current one. As a result Kingsley and Nora found themselves at church listening to Søren's Christmas homily.

Afterwards, in Søren's home they ate his cookies, and when he came home, they made a truce. It was a lovely night, when they put their differences aside and had orgasms instead of another argument. Kingsley and Nora managed to make sure the other got for Christmas what they wished for from Søren, and the author finally got to put snowballing into one of her stories.

The Christmas Truce is a sweet story about a night in the lives of three main Sinners. It tugged at the heartstrings, but Kingsley's presence made it fun, and he even managed to make me laugh. June and The Chateau can't come fast enough.

It's Christmas in July for me and my favorite trio ♥ ♥ ♥

Nora walked to Soren, placed her hands on his chest, and rose on her tiptoes to kiss him.

"Just when I think I have you all figured out," she said after the kiss, "you agree to a threesome on Crhistmas. or a twosome if Kingsley dies."

"I won't die," Kingsley said.

PERFECT!
I LOVE those little Søren, King & Nora Christmas Novellas. I wouldn't mind getting a novella or even a whole book about them every month for the rest of eternity!

This little story was a back-in-time thingy. A few years before the first book. And it was just as amazing as everything else. Adorable, funny, erotic, sad, moving.

I want to quote so many amazing & hilarious lines, but I think they're not safe for goodreads 😜

Bof! In the first part of the book, Nora and King complain about the fact that they haven't seen Søren in a long time. The middle part is Søren's Christmas homily and the last part is a sex scene (threesome).

I don't find complaints very interesting, particularly since Nora didn't even remember why Søren and she stopped talking or seeing each other... And I don't like long sex scenes either. There is a bit (very small bit) of SM: one stroke with a cane!

In fact, the only interesting part was Søren's homily, and I'm not a believer. ;)

But since this short story is free, I can't complain too much. So I give it 3 stars anyway.

“As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee…”

Short story that is set around Christmas where the three are fighting a cold war but not preventing Kingsley & Nora from immensely missing Søren.
Reminiscing about their lover, they decide to head to church for Christmas Eve midnight mass and surprise Søren in his home. When he arrives things lead to a heated direction worthy of the unholy trinity.

“You’ve never required an engraved invitation to come to bed with us before.”
“C’est vrai. Mais…it is Christmas. You want me at your threesome? Ask nicely. Gift-wrap it a little for me. Decorate it.”
Søren plucked an ornament off the tree and hung it on Kingsley’s shirt collar, pressing the silver hook into his skin.
“Son of a bitch!” Kingsley said, pulling the ornament—a tiny snowflake with a nasty hook—off his shirt. He touched his collarbone and a smear of blood remained on his fingers. “Why did you do that?”

The three spend the most satisfying truce he fucking loved it, Søren controlling his every move, his every breath, his cock, his orgasms, his come.

I love reading about the three of them being together. This story had some intense emotional moments between them. And being an Original Sinners story means it's also smoking hot with the three of them in Soren's bed!

“It’s too bad it isn’t Christmas every day. Then nobody would have to go back to fighting stupid wars.”

*happy sigh* I never get tired of revisiting this world and getting new stories. It never fails to put a smile on my face. alongside the great (and always fucking CONSENSUAL) kink.

Either you love this series or you don't (which is fine). I'm firmly in the former and this was yet another great holiday short to add to the enjoyment of this cast of characters.

Since the Original Sinners series ended.. I just live for these little annual glimpses of Nora, Soren , King et al. Sheer joy.
Although I pretty much lap up anything Tiffany writes.. nothing hits me like these particular characters and wee stories help keep it all alive for me.. until she finally caved and gives us another quartet 😬
The annual Christmas missive.. always the day after Sorens midwinter birthday, are always a pleasure and this one is no exception . Better even as it features my three favourite characters.
Christmas came early :)

Freebie from the author. The blurb describing the book says it all:
After months of fighting a cold war with Søren, Kingsley and Mistress Nora sneak over to Sacred Heart in the hopes of declaring a Christmas Truce for one night with their infuriating priest. When the offer of a truce is accepted, the UnHoly Trinity celebrates the holiday together as only they can.
If you are familiar with Soren, Kingsley, and Nora, they are all true to character.

4.5 stars. Really loved seeing more of the playful camaraderie between Kingsley and Nora since this takes place a few years before The Siren when Nora is Mistress Nora. And of course Søren is present, too, so when all three are in the same room, there is never a dull moment with the heat and chemistry, along with dialogue, confessions and humor.

For those of us who just can’t get enough of the Unholy Trinity: Soren, Kingsley, and Nora. This is set before The Siren, when both Nora and Kingsley are estranged from Soren.

I love how the author twines small threads together and interweaves stories. It is magical. The flashback story Nora tells King, brought back in Soren’s Midnight Mass homily, then tied off in the truce between the three. Beautiful. Stunning.

I love how the bond between the three is so strong, even when they are ‘broken up’. You can clearly see how much they all care for each other. The messages about forgiveness, love, and understanding are fitting for the Christmas theme.

I love how complicated Soren and Kingsley’s relationship is. Whereas Nora and Soren’s relationship is actually fairly simple and pretty easy to identify, as are their problems, his relationship with Kingsley is very complicated and their problems aren’t as easy to identify. We see that in the private discussions between the two here. It’s not as simple for them to just gloss over what currently stands between them, like Nora and Soren can. I adore these little pieces we see of their struggle to each other. It is much more interesting to me.

And holy crap, is the smut hot here. How Ms. Reisz can write such graphic detail that is so beautiful and hot astounds me. The history between these characters just leaps off the page in every scene, whether it is in dialogue or the physicality of their carnal relations. Whatever it is, it is MAGIC and it makes the chemistry SO HOT.

My favorite quote:

“My name is all the warning you should need,” Soren said.

I mean, damn. That says it all.

And….we get to hear one of Soren’s homilies, for once. BEAUTIFUL!!

And finally….

Nora’s present to King…..***chef’s kiss***….PERFECT!!!!!

It wouldn’t be Christmas without a visit from our favorite Sinners!!
The Christmas season is upon us and Kingsley and Nora are sharing time together while Juliette is out of town. The two reminisce about times in their lives. Leaving them longing for the one person that they are without at the present time…… Soren. Plans are made to head to the church to hear Soren give his message of faith, hope, and love for the holiday season. Leaving Nora and Kingsley feeling a bit nostalgic.
As the situation always seems to be with our favorite Sinners, Christmas is best spent relishing in the comfort of one another’s arms….or in this case BED!! All is forgiving if only for one night. A celebration to warm the heart of Sinners both near and far. Nora, Kingsley, and Soren know that at least for one night…their deepest desires will always relish in celebrating the season.
Oh…..be still my heart. I never get enough of the snippets into our Sinners lives. Nora, Kingsley, and Soren celebrate a Christmas worthy of any Sinner. A Trinity that knows what makes the other relish in pleasure. This Christmas tale is worthy of any Sinner’s adoration and Christmas ‘cheer’. I simply cannot get enough when this triad comes together…by any means possible.
Reisz has outdone herself paying homage to our favorite trio! This is definitely a Sinners Christmas to remember!!

I haven't read anything by Tiffany in a while, so to jump back into this little Christmas story with Nora, Kingsley and Søren was like riding a bike. You never forget it. I miss this world.

This story begins with Nora and Kinsley in her new home wrapping gifts. They are obviously talking about Søren and decide to make a bet and go see in at Christmas Mass. Both of them haven't seen or spoken to him in over three months. They decided to ignore whatever fight they were going through and see him at Mass. Nora told Kingsley a story about how when she was younger and in love with her priest, she got him a Stag - Hart. It was a little toy and she gave it to him and it meant so much to Søren but Eleanor didn't even know. Kingsley and Søren made up with each other. Kingsley didn't know if Søren even wanted him there intruding with him and Nora. Søren wanted him there more than anything. They both went upstairs and found Nora in bed wearing nothing but candy cane striped stockings.

I'll let you read to find out the rest. I love the little stories that Tiffany comes up with from Nora and Søren's past. I don't know how she does it. I feel like I can see them right in front of my face when I read these books, like it's a memory that I am re watching. She is so good. I love Søren. That's all. Haha.
