Harper Wilde is sitting on the beach, minding her own business when a huge, muscular Kindred warrior with black hair and blazing white eyes demands that she accompany him into the future. Harper has no choice--she is dragged against her will into a dystopian nightmare--the world as it might become if something isn't changed.
And that something that needs changing is Harper herself.

As a ten'sora, she is of special interest to the Hive, an insectile race of beings bent on taking over the Earth. By using her, they can conquer both the Mother Ship and the human race. Unless she herself is altered so the Hive cannot make use of her, the grim future Harper finds herself in will become reality.

Shad is a Shadow Twin--a Kindred male destined always to walk alone with very little chance of forming a bond with a female. Yet, he alone is able to make use of the looper--a time travel device which allows him to move back and forth between the past and the future to try and save Harper. Falling in love with her isn't part of the plan but the big Kindred can't help himself. But he knows he must put his feelings aside and do what is necessary to change the past… unless he wants the future to Vanish forever.

Evangeline Anderson is a registered MRI tech who would rather be writing. And yes, she is nerdy enough to have a bumper sticker that says “I’d rather be writing.” Honk if you see her! She is thirty-something and lives in Florida with a husband, a son, and two cats. She had been writing erotic fiction for her own gratification for a number of years before it occurred to her to try and get paid for it. To her delight, she found that it was actually possible to get money for having a dirty mind and she has been writing paranormal and Sci-fi erotica steadily ever since.

Main characters: Shad and Harper
Type of Kindred: Shadow

New book with Shad! Yes, the shadow twin's story as a grown up!
Shad is the third son of Kat, Lock and Deep. His twin brothers are War and Peace.
And we actually have a glimpse of the rest of the children as grown ups.
What a nice surprise!

The Shadow Twin is an extra, so he has no twin of his own.
He is the one cursed to walk alone always.
Poor Shad. He has to save Humans and Kindreds all by himself.

We have met Shad as a kid. Now we will meet a grown up Shad who arrives from the future in order to save Harper who for the time being relaxes by the beach thinking about her life without knowing that the Hive and Sovereign Ysldred X’izith wants to abduct her and breed her and as a result destroy the Earth and the Kindred Mother Ship. The future is horrible and dystopian with many deaths.

Have you seen the movie "Looper" with Bruce Willis or the movie "Groundhog Day" with Bill Murray?
Think of a desperate Shad who goes back to the past again and again trying to alter the future and trying to save Harper. He needs to introduce himself again and again to her, to fall in love again and again and to lose her again and again.

Very interesting story and a very nice introduction to some new stories with the children of our favourite Kindreds.

Alien and human save the world in a time loop!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙❤️💚💜
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘
World building: 🌏🌍🌏🌎
Character development: ☺️🙃😳
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Solo Narration

The heroine: Harper - she recently broke up with her fiancée, who wanted nothing more than to hang around the apartment eating pizza and playing video games with his friends. She had to sign up for the Kindred bride program now that she was single, but hardly anyone got picked to be the bride of one of the aliens who lived in their mothership which orbited the earth so they could help protect its inhabitants.

The Hero: Shad - he is a shadow twin, a Kindred male who was fated to try and save the Kindred and the people of Earth. He was the only one who could control the looper, a time travel device which he used to jump back and forth in time. He has been through hundreds of loops, trying to save Harper each time and the looper was dying. He may only have one more loop left and this time he had to save her. Every other time, he lost her, and he can’t fail this time.

The Story: an alien insect-like species called the hive had taken over the universe. They had nearly died out and disappeared, until they were able to kidnap Harper who is the only female, they found with a special characteristic which allowed her to successfully carry their young, she was called a ten’sora. They used her to incubate hundreds of thousands of their grubs. It is a death sentences for any female except a ten’sora. Shad went back in time and grabbed Harper before the hive could intercept her.

The story was pretty intricate, which you would expect from a story with a time loop and multiple iterations of the loop, with the Hero trying and failing to get it right after hundreds of tries. Though we only see this last try, he mentions previous tries more than a few times. The romance was good, especially given the fact that we know Shad is in love with Harper, but failed to save her so many times before that he is more than hesitant to give in to his feelings again.

This audiobook was told in dual points of view via solo narration. It was narrated by William Martin. William Martin has a great voice and is a very good narrator. Though I am not that fond of his female voice. Also, he has this habit of whispering to indicate when the person is thinking to themselves, which bothers me a bit.

The sample was so good I immediately purchased the ebook. I had read the sample a while ago for some reason, but even though it was so intriguing, I held off on buying the ebook because I wanted to go in the series order.

The beginning of the book is a little confusing with the whole time travel business, but it ends up making sense. I wasn't really sure how the book was going to end, which was good. I like how Evangeline went there and explored the worst thing happening in one of the timelines. The only thing that stopped me from giving 4 stars was the connection between the hero and the heroine. They barely talked before Harper was like "I'm madly in love with him", like how?? I wanted more backstory on Shad's past too. Was he a virgin? That's a basic fact I couldn't even tell with this book.

Now, if you‘re checking out this book in the series you probably know what this is about. Alien Erotica!

But this is now already 20+ books into the series, NOT counting the spin offs. Pretty hefty, huh?

BotK had one very long dry spell somewhere between book 10 and book 16, but since then Evangeline Anderson has redound her interest in the series and we once again get what‘s good about the books.

- always new worldbuilding
- pretty interesting new cultures
- the „Alien saves woman“ theme done in all the ways possible

Now obviously the series is awfully predictable. Everyone knows what‘ll happen! There are no nasty surprises or real threats BUT EA always comes up with something new. This time, an old living fashion item from Book 2 (a Tharp! Yes, I even remembered the name because it was so memorable), which now was slightly more colorful, had more personality and acted as an aggressive actor in the plot. I loved every second of it.

Also the Forger from Book 3 made a bright appearance which was great.

Even more new, there was a dystopian time skip of some twenty years in which the entire mothership and all the characters we loved and hated were obliterated, and Shadow, Kat, Locke and Deep‘s third son, was time traveling to save the day. As far as plot goes, this might actually be one of the most thought out. Hence, five stars.

I have to say, Anderson took me by surprised with this installment. It was very dramatic and entertaining and a bit different from what I am used to find in the Brides of The Kindred. I enjoyed it quite a lot, specially the time travel loop which was nail biting at times. I was left wondering if this was the last we saw about the kids of the kindred but I am glad to see that's not the case. Great read, I really enjoy it.

Wow is all I can say after reading this story!!! I had been anxiously waiting to read Shad story and let me tell you that it was definitely worth the wait. I absolutely loved Shad and Harper. The struggle they both had to endure even though Harper couldn't remember it. I could only imaging the heartache, frustration, and pain that Shad had to go thought every time when he couldn't complete him mission and be with the person he love. My heart broke for him. The same way I loved Harper I also wanted to shake her, I felt like she was being so inconsiderate and selfish. She didn't stop to think about how all this was affecting Shad at all. Even with that been said this was a enjoyable and entertaining read. I'm totally looking forward to reading more books in the Kindred series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review no minority compensation was received the opinions I have expressed are my own.

Wow, this was such a heartwarming book. To begin with I wondered how the dynamics of this could work, what with the time travel etc but I shouldn’t have doubted Evangeline, it was simply amazing.
Harper and Shads story was so great and to be honest has to be up there with one of my favourites. I was so excited about Shadows book anyway, but this way exceeded anything I could of hoped.
The Kindred books just get better and better and just when you think they can’t get any imorove, or amaze again, they do!
I cannot recommend this book enough and highly recommend that the rest of the books in this series are also read, just fab!!
A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements to review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.

>Book review – Vanished
>I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 21st in the Brides of the Kindred series and ends in an HEA. Harper is a human, but apparently one that can successfully breed with the Hive, unbeknownst to her. Shadow is the shadow twin to Lock, Deep and Kat. In this story, he is an adult male with the ability to time travel the same loop in order to save Harper, defeat the Hive and save his family. Shadow’s story is so sad. A shadow twin can never form a mate bond for some reason. He travels the time loop multiple times, each time falling deeper and deeper in love with Harper. The time loop resets each time he or Harper dies, so he has to endure losing Harper over and over again. Harper has no knowledge of these previous efforts.
>The present time period that Shad is trying to change involves the grown children of the original Kindred. The author can now write Kindred stories with the original Kindred and the grown children in the future. This particular story is extremely erotic, even as Shad tries to fight his feelings for Harper, knowing how heartbreaking it is to lose her.
>This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving this story 5 stars. I loved the idea of saving the past and creating a new future. Shad’s HEA is so well deserved, as is any upcoming HEA for War and Peace.

This book was the best Kindred book I've read to date. I really do need to start from the first book and read all the other kindred stories but of the ones that I have read so far, I enjoyed this one the most. The direction this book went in was absolutely new and riveting. The time travelling aspect opened up a whole new avenue for adventuring and Evangeline delivered. There were times I felt as if Harper, the main female lead, shouldn't be so oblivious and other times she acted instead of reacted. Shad was my absolute favorite. He did seem to lacking some awareness since he promised to protect Harper but she constantly almost always ended up in some sort of accident. My favorite thing about this book was that even though it contained the most repeated elements Evangline keeps in her books, the adventure made all the difference in my perception of the characters. In the previous books I felt that only the names changed and the adventure stayed the same but in this book, I enjoyed it from start to finish, feeling as if I was on a brand new adventure.

Wow, I was not expecting time travel. Really liked it as a plot point, and the author did very well in working it into the Kindred series. Full marks! The main couple are great too, Shadow gets his perfect mate and Harper is pretty cool. Really sad that the Royal cape died though. It ended up being awesome and badass.

A downside is that we do not see an early steamy chapter dedicated to the previous couple, in this case Thorn and Nehsa, but I get that with time travel it wouldv'e ruined the flow to jump back to the present for just that.

Was sure a time skip would be involved, but thanks to this introduced mechanic we now get two timelines for future releases, the future one to be called Children of the Kindred alongside the current Brides and Tales. Works so well, and gives us the best of both worlds without actually needing a time skip to close off the present/past. Very cleverly done. Can't wait to get future Kara's story (Slyvan & Sophia's daughter). Finally we have a female Kindred story coming soon. Not sure if Targetted counts; doesn't for me anyway.

We finally get see the end of the Hive too, or most of them at least. One worker bug survives, along with the Hive/Kindred hybrid he's created as a contingency, in fetus form, who will grow to have all of the dead Sovereign's memories. I'm guessing he'll grow at a normal rate and end up being the first antagonist for the Children series. Only concession I have about it is that it sounds almost identical to when Two cloned himself, so a bit of rehashing of the same plot point. Then again this is a long series and is still going strong.

The epilogue was okay, looks to be another BDSM trip back to Yonnie Six. Ugh, really not a fan of those. From the sounds of things some earth woman will find the lost E'lo stone, and switch places with a sadistic Yonnite Mistress that she's an identical match to (think doppelganger), who's currently got a Volt Kindred Slave. Yes, that's right - another Elemental Kindred has arrived as I predicted in a previous review. Maybe next we'll get Ice type Cryo Kindred soon! The Volt's tragic backstory sounds very similar to the Collective of the Dark Kindred so I'm wondering if there will be any relation. Now that the Hive is gone it leaves a Villain vacuum, potentially a rogue AI i'm thinking. Again, sounds similar to the Collective, but in that case it was really Two that was in charge and directing the machines.

Evangeline Anderson- Vanished: Brides of the Kindred 21 (The Brides of the Kindred) (Volume 21j

Evangeline Anderson’s roller coaster through time story begins a new additional direction for the Kindred series that will feature the children from all our favorite Kindred Bride books as adults. Taking place in the future, It’s a bit abstract but it works amazingly well.

Shad is a shadow twin, the offspring of Kat, Deep and Lock from “Sought” the third and one of my favorite books of the series. Kat gives birth to twins, War and Peace, but is surprised to also have a third baby, a shadow twin.
Destined to be alone without a twin he doesn’t have an easy path in life and may not be able to ever form a permanent bond with a female.
He has been given gifts though and as a child has a special relationship with the goddess. The goddess communicates with Shad giving him insights into the future.
He is also able to work with the Time Warden, who creates a time loop for Shad. He must try to change the future in order to save earth and the Kindred Mother ship from a full takeover by the Hive.
Time looping takes Shad into the future where adult Shad must save Harper Wilde from being kidnapped by the Hive and used to breed the evil Soverign’s army. Harper is a Tensora, a female able to be bred over and over by the Head of the Hive, horrid insectile race.

Harper is smart, brave, likable heroine who realizes very quickly the importance of her mission with Shad and rises to the challenge. What can’t be denied is the attraction and impossible heart wrenching love that grows between the two.

The authors highly creative imagination goes into overdrive in this book taking readers on adventures on several new worlds, strange cities with even stranger inhabitants, customs, foods, clothing, sexual encounters, etc. This time jumping, dangerous, heart racing ,suspenseful, emotional story is guaranteed to leave readers breathless. As always it is also filled with the author’s special blend of love ,sensuous romance/erotica (and of course some kinky stuff).
Love getting our first glimpse of the grown up children of our favorite Kindred books.

Vanished Bride of the Kindred 21

Evangeline Anderson

Finally we are getting to hear more about the early Brides and their Kindred Families. Shad and Harper, long lost loves? This book puts a real twist on Time Travel Romance. Shadow, Shadow twin son of Kat, Deep and Lock is destined to be Special soul. Shad always thought he would never be able to bond, being the Shadow twin of Twin Kindred brothers, War and Peace. Harper just wanted a family, but she was not interested in being Brood Mother to Millions! She just wanted to settle down with a one guy.

How they meet, when they meet and why they meet is the essence of this book. Like most other Kindred Bride tales, what you see is not always as its seems. The Hive has found a way to wipe out the Kindred and exert global control over the Universe. But there’s one small catch, they need Harper to make the plan successful. Enter Shad. He is the only one who would be able to stop this. If he only can get to Harper before the Hive does. This begins a tale of intrigues, suspense, romance and oh yeah time travel. Being honest, you will get much more if have read the previous tales, as each builds upon the next and so on. But I hope I’ve got your interest piqued!

I was given and ARC but the Review is all mine and freely given!

I have been waiting for this book since Shadow was born (Sought - his parents' book - is still my favorite in the series) . Every single glimpse we have had of him has shown that he was going to go through hell and he did - time and time again. Shad has suffered an incredible losses and the Goddess has given him a way to change the past and save everyone. Looping through time and resetting every time something goes wrong in his attempt to foil the Hive's plans for Harper and the Earth but time is running out and he just knows that this is his last chance.

This supersonic romp through the cosmos to prevent Shad's past and Harper's future does nothing but bring these two characters closer. With new obstacles and new allies?, it is a great addition to the Kindred series and opens up the new Kindred series set in the future with all the children from the couples in the main series - Daniel (Olivia and Baird's son), Aziz/Ziza (Lauren and Xairn's daughter), War and Peace (Kat, Lock, and Deep's twins and Shad's brothers), and Kara and Kaleb (Sophia and Sylvan's twins).

There is one giant plot hole but it is easily overlooked during the enjoyment of the book. So grab it, devour it, and sit back and wait for the next book in the series.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

This book was a very emotional book. I actually shed a few teas. If you are like me you were looking forward to Shad’s story. So it was great to see this story come out.

My heart truly broke for Shad. I can not imagine to know as a small child that you were destine to try to save “the pretty woman”, the woman he will fall in love with. Then to fail each and every time you save her. This had to really take a tole on him to go through this over and over again.

I found this story very interesting. I love how she she did the time travel and the routes she took. This story is very interesting.

I love Harper and thought she was perfect for Shad. She was very special and the hive wanted her. Her future looks real dim unless Shad can change it. Harper was this sweet compassionate person. I did love her feistiness and loved seeing her play side coming out.

Harper really goes through a lot in this story but I love how Shad is there to help her along the way.

This book is really hot and steamy and trust me when I say you will enjoy each and every part.

What a wonderful lead in to the Kindred Children's stories. We've already learned about Shad's gift of talking to the Goddess, and how he's able to know things that seem unlikely, but seeing all that he goes through for his family and Harper makes things even more real for him. Shad, the Shadow twin from Deep Lock and Kat's triplets, has been through hell fighting over and over again trying to save Harper and his species. The Hive took Harper and bred her and eventually defeated the Kindred and took over Earth. Shad is trying to change the past, but is desperate not to grow more attached at the same time. I love how protective he is of Harper, but I feel so bad for both of them knowing what's in store for them both.

I cannot wait to see what happens next with both the Kindred and the Kindred Children. The lead in for the next books are making me anxious already and I cannot wait to see how things work out for them. A little worried about the future though, things look a little hairy for the future!

**Received ARC from Booksprout for a fair and honest review**
Vanished is the 21st book in the Brides of the Kindred series. This book can be read as a standalone- the author gives you more than enough information that you don't feel lost. Since I've read all the other books, I feel like you would miss out since there are returning characters that you don't know. Just my personal opinion.
I was so excited when I saw that this was going to be Shad's story, since he's the shadow twin and him, war and peace are still rather young, this was very much a surprise, but a welcome one! This book does not disappoint! I really enjoyed Shad, though Harper was annoying, self-centered/selfish at times, but overall it didn't really detract from the book. Be forewarned, this book is a rollercoaster, and there are a few surprising plot twists that I rather enjoyed! The authors imagination and creativity in these books really appeals to me and keeps me coming back for more! I can't wait for the next book in the series!! Hope this helps! Happy Reading!!!

Being stuck in a time loop had to have been a nightmare. Really glad future Shad didn't have any mental problems from the 100s of times he tried to save Harper. I'm also glad this is the start of the kids series! Unofficially the start anyway. I think I'll like that she is gonna keep doing both timelines and just hope it's not confusing continuity wise. Also like the novellas of other kindred stories, although the 8ft tall kindred race is gonna be a pass for me. I'm annoyed at my guy friends that are 6ft tall! What am I gonna do with 8ft of gorgeous man, climb him like a tree every single time? Even when I'm 60?! The mental joints won't let me lol.

Enjoyed the read but side note for Evangeline's future POC, go full minority with darker skin features cuz everyone brown isn't light brown. Maybe even do more guys with non-white skin tones. Oooo do a gay Kindred romance!! I want it so bad now that it's in my head. Two alpha males, maybe fighting their attraction or who have outside challenges to face!!!.

A mesmerizing book of to-and-fro time travel set to save Earth and the Kindred from the horrendous Hive and its attempts to conquer the known universe. Be warned, the beginning will set your nerves and imagination on edge. It also tells the story of saving lives and the undying love of Shad (a Kindred Shadow Twin) for Harper Wilde who had the misfortune of being marked at birth as a "ten'sora"; the essential breeder needed by the Hive to continue their devastating march to total domination. It has always been believed that to mess with the past will result in terrible future consequences but, be that as it may, Shad and Harper travel together to unburden Earth and the Kindred of the Hive threat. Theirs is a story of danger, adventure, and ultimately a forever love. Not a story to be missed. Another success by Ms. Anderson. I received an ARC through Brooksprout for my honest review.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. I also bought the book because I love this series, and I was not disappointed by this one. I love that Ms Anderson is taking us into the Kindred children's lives. Every single one of us Kindred fans has been curious about what would become of the children, and I can't imagine a better place for her to start than with Shadow, the only shadow twin born so far, child of Kat, Deep and Lock. It was filled with all of the steamy sexy that always gets her books revved up, but the story was so intense and heart wrenching and kept me guessing from the first page. There were moments that brought tears to my eyes, and a spin so wicked, I didn't know how it was going to work out. Somehow, this author always takes us there and back and leaves us breathless. Can't wait to see what she has in store for us next!

This book was wonderful! I'm absolutely thrilled to see a book about the grown children of the Kindred we know and love. This book starts with Harper sitting on a beach reviewing her life. The next thing she knows there is a huge Kindred running towards her to save her from a life guard that won't leave her alone. Then he is claiming to be from the future and she must come with him or the worst will happen. Shad must convince her to come with him and do everything he can to change the course of human and Kindred history as he knows it. For he has seen the Hive conquer Earth and the outcome is devastating. We can only hope that this is the time where fate is changed. Will our characters fall in love across time and find a way to be together? Enjoy! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this story. I have long been a fan of Ms. Anderson’s Kindred stories. The last few have not resonated all that well with me. In some of them, there is too much hesitation between the characters and the tension and action has been somewhat unsatisfying; although I still liked them, they weren’t;t automatically on my re-read list. I just read Vanished and I LOVED it. It had everything that I love in a Kindred book - a big growly and protective warrior, a sassy and strong woman, great action and tension and lots of steamy “sexy times”. The elements of connecting timelines and dystopian worlds made for a wonderful read and I am happy to recommend this story wholeheartedly.

A wonderful time traveling good time! Shadow is the first born of Kat, Lock, and Deep. He's a Shadow twin, speculated to never be able to properly bond with a woman as his mate. And now he's entrusted with the future of not only the Kindred but of earth. Harper is a woman on the verge of change, contemplating what to do with the future ahead of her. Little did she know it would come crashing in on her life with high stakes and a handsome Kindred. Harper and Shadow have a journey ahead of them to fix the future, and keep earth out of the clutches of the Hive. But in order to do that, Shadow must take her to get her DNA altered in order to change the main reason the Hive are after her. And after numerous attempts, this is his last chance to make things right. This read makes for a sexy good adventure, with a stubborn hero and a feisty heroine.

I was hoping that Shad would get his own story, and holy crap did he! I absolutely loved Shad as a child and felt so sorry for him, as an adult I fell in love with him and shed tears! Shad goes through so much, he knows from a young age that he will have to save this woman and it really is such an emotional journey. Harper was just as great, she was perfect for Shad. At some points in the story I wanted to slap her for being so selfish but she had Shad there to help her through. This was was an awesome read, I don't know how Evangeline Anderson keeps doing it! This series is just as good as it was at the beginning. Can't wait for the next book.

Perfect as usual. This was a really good one. This author is spoiling me,she consistently writes books representing all nationalities. And she does this well.Usually whenever a white author writes a black woman character they have them go all sista girl on you😂But this author writes blk female characters that are just like me and other women I know. Also how the heck does she know about blk hair care?!You never read that stuff in books! Most books have blk women hopping in the shower and washing hair and that's it.We as blk women know it doesn't work quite like that.lol.In her book evangeline acknowledged that her character used special products on her hair.Yup...I'm ruined for good now😂

Wow! Shadow grown. What a man, he became, so sad what he had to live through over and over again just to get his happily ever after. The sorrow and death. Her 30ish and him about 25... yet they work. I did notice, in their little adventure, the scenes had a combination of experiences that were done in previous books. Funny thou about Kat sons all preferred the darker shaded women. So happy for War and Peace being with Lauren's daughter. Thanks for giving more scenes with Baird Deep and Locke. Loved little Shadow, he is soo adorable. I just wished they showed Harper meeting his family again.

I can not wait to read all the Kindred children grown up storylines.

This was quite a different Kindred tale set in the future, well a possible future as the past needs correcting. I hate those Hive critters and was glad of their outcome....or was I? All is never as it seems.
Shad must go back to the past to save this woman who would become a breeding Queen. Time and time again he has failed and this is the last possible chance. I was hooked from the beginning and couldn't put this story down. As the book drew to a close I thought no way and then wow didn't see that coming. I highly recommend this story.

I couldnt put this down, it was so intense from the first chapter to the last.

To see Shadow all grown up is amazing.

I love how he felt about Harper.

The way he has to protect her constantly shows how much of a warrior he is.

Broke my heart when she was captured and him going to his family even though hes not supposed to because of the time rules.

Young Shadow is so cute!!!

ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT.

CANT WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE
