It was more than just a one-night stand... Chelsea had been there for me when I needed her. Now, she's in trouble and needs help. Luckily, I'm just the man for the job. MI6 and their orders be damned. She's worth going rogue for.
Spy for Hire is a full length romance novel with an HEA and NO CLIFFHANGER. It is part of the For Series, a spin-off of Cat Johnson's Hot SEALs, but you do not need to read any of the books in the other series to enjoy this one.
Note: Chelsea and Tristan first meet in Hot Chick for Hire so you might want to read that first but Spy for Hire can be enjoyed as a standalone.

It all started in first grade when Cat Johnson won the essay contest at Hawthorne Elementary School and got to ride in the Chief of Police's car in the Memorial Day Parade...and the rest, as they say, is history. As an adult, Cat generally tries to stay out of police cars and is thrilled to be writing for a living. She has been published under a different name in the Young Adult genre, but released her first romance in 2006.
Today, she is a NY Times & USA Today best-selling, award-winning author of contemporary romance. A promo ho, she's sponsored real live bull riding cowboys and promoted romance using bologna.
It can be read as a standalone, but I definitely need you to read Hot Chick For Hire first - it was hilarious! And now here's Tristan's story. We first see in the prologue how he met the SEALs surrounding Zane a few years back on a mission. And then we go to present time New York where Tristan is trying to do his british spy work, but he's being called back home by his boss. BUT, at the same time he finds out that Chelsea is missing. Chelsea. The girl he spent one amazing day and night with. The girl that hasn't left his thoughts in months. And now she's missing?
Off to Washington we go to find out what's what!

Well, that was adorable!
The first book was a cute and hilarious story and this one is a bit more suspensy. But just as great. What's not to adore about a hot spy from England! That accent. The suits. Grrrr! Very bondy! And his buddies Brent and Zane are helping - even more eye candy for us!
Poor Chelsea - she went to find out what her former colleague Morgan has gotten herself into at that escort agency. And now she's gotten herself into whatever it is too!
Very exciting and mysterious for the reader and Tristan.
I really loved this book. It was exciting and funny and sweet and verry sexy!☺
Spy For Hire follows on from Hot Chick For Hire, and you will have need to have read that one to get the full story of Tristan and Chelsea.
This installment of the For Hire series is very Bond. James Bond. Mystery, intrigue and sexy as sin suits had me reading this book in one sitting, needing to know what would happen next.
Got a little bit of a few more of the GAPS guys which I absolutely adored, and makes me want to go back and read all their stories all over again.
Exciting, funny, sweet and sexy, Spy For Hire had a bit of everything. Now I am impatiently waiting for what Ms Johnson brings us next.

If you enjoyed Zane Alexander and his SEAL buddies, you can read more about them in the Hot SEALs series, beginning with Night with a SEAL (Jon's story) and Saved by a SEAL (Zane's story) and SEAL the Deal (Zane & Missy's wedding).
Really enjoyed the second part of Tristan and Chelsea story. James Bond eat your heart out. Being British I liked the way Cat used the right expressions for Tristan. I also enjoyed seeing my favourite hero Zane make a welcome appearance. This was a quick, hot read that kept me interested throughout.
This story was a pretty fast (for me) adorably cute read! It was read in the hero's pov which was cool, I haven't read many books where it's just the hero's pov and not both. I enjoyed Zane's character alot, hoping there is a book on his story. I'll have to and look. Overall was a good read!

This is an action packed, fast paced, fun romance. Tristan and Chelsea make quite a pair and their chemistry is hot. There is suspense and romance with plot twists to keep you guessing and drama to keep you reading.
I enjoyed the book, but I thought that everything happened quite fast and I felt like it missed some points, but still I was happy to read about Tristan and Chelsea again.
What's a hot British spy to do when his one night stand (that he can't get out of his mind) is missing? Why, he goes and finds her, that's what!
Tristan has been called back to England, thanks to a new danger alert placed on those who spy for their Queen. But, when Brent Hearst (from Billionaire for Hire) comes to him and asks if he's seen or been in contact with Chelsea, all of Tristan's spy senses kick in. The woman he can't get off his mind is missing, and he's just the man to find her, to protect her, to save her from whatever mess she's gotten herself into. But, can these two possibly make a relationship work when he's about to head home to England AND he's a spy whose work is more dangerous than the average citizen's?
I loved Spy for Hire. Just like Billionaire for Hire, it's sweet and sexy and Tristan is super swoony. I mean come on...he's British with that sexy Brit accent, he's a Bondy dude, and he's super GQ smooth. What more could a hot blooded American woman like Chelsea (and me, the reader!) ask for?!

When the girl from an earlier mission goes missing, our spy finds he has more issues to resolve than just a missing person.
This book is part of a larger series by the author and a lot of the backstory for the various characters is presented in more detailed in other books. However, none of it is critical to this story, more like hints that make you want to read the other books. I had no problem jumping into this book and did not feel I was missing important facts from earlier stories.
The story itself was solid, well plotted and included real, grounded characters who pull the reader into the story. It contains a good mix of intrigue with realistic spy craft and romance with some hot and sexy scenes included as well. But neither element dominates the book, providing a nice blend of genres for the reader's pleasure.
If I have any criticism of the book, it would be that the bad guys were not bad enough. Without getting into spoilers, let me just say that our hero's actions don't elicit the response I would expect from the enemy.
Regardless of this minor issue, I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to going back through some of the earlier works. If you like your romance with a dash of intrigue (or your intrigue with a dash of romance), this book will be right up your alley. Highly recommended.

We met Tristan and Chelsea in the Billionaire for Hire where he helped Brent and Alex. In this book we get a glimpse of him in the past where he was a British operative. Now he works in the US on classified missions. Tristan is commanded to return home but finds out from Brent that Chelsea is missing. Chelsea and Tristan have worked together in the past as well as spent some time under the sheets together so her missing is a weak spot for Tristan to want to disregard direct orders to return home.
Chelsea is the receptionist for Zane Alexander. She's also a model and actress. She believes something is wrong with her friend Morgan and takes it upon herself to follow the breadcrumbs.
Will Tristan find Chelsea and will she want to be found? Will Tristan confess his feelings for Chelsea before it's too late?

This book is about an MI6 agent from London named Tristan who had a one night stand with an American named Chelsea six months before and then disappeared back to London. Then he returned to the United States and found out Chelsea was missing, and that a friend of Chelsea's was also missing. He uses all his skills and resources to find Chelsea amidst some great sex scenes and a wild description of a sex orgy! I thought it was interesting that the author wrote from Tristan's point of view rather than in 3rd person or from a female point of view. And I guess Tristan's biggest decision is whether he will stay with Chelsea if he finds her or if he'll return to his job in London. I highly recommend this book!

While it is true you don't have to read the novella "Hot chick for hire" before reading this book, I recommend you do. I found I appreciated this book more because of it. That being said, be prepared for some .. ahem... interesting search results if you Google the phrase "Hot chick for hire" ☺ I like that the characters aren't perfect (I wanted to swat Tristan upside the head once or twice, but in the affectionate "you're an idiot" sort of way, not the irritated "you're a jerk" way). The ending was a bit of a letdown-- the HEA was a little predictable (which, to be honest wasn't the letdown, given that HEA is standard in this genre!) and the resolution of what the characters were investigating seemed like an afterthought. Overall, though, I enjoyed this book.

Spy for Hire is a full length romance novel, part of the For Hire Series, a loose spin-off of Cat Johnson's Hot SEALs series with appearances by favorite characters. Forget MI6, all Tristan cares about is Chelsea who is Zane's [yes THAT Zane from the previous book] right hand 'man' has gone missing and Tristan and all the others are desperate to find her safe and sound. But this is when Tristan realises just how deep his feelings for her truly are! Sizzling chemistry between the two of them and it is great to reconnect with characters from previous books by Cat Johnson that are so well written, and just keep making me come back for more. I'm really looking forward to the next book in the series. I received a free copy of in this page turning book that you won't want to put down this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED
I loved this book. The story follows on from “Billionaire fir Hire”, but could be read as a stand-alone book. The author had me hooked from beginning to end. The story was well written and was full of twists and turns that kept me fully involved until conclusion of the story. The characters were very likeable, had a previous history and were loyal to their friends and each other. I was happy to read that they overcame obstacles placed in their way to enable them to find their happy ever after. I’d happily recommend this book.

4.75 Stars. I certainly am enjoying this lively Series. This book is a continuation of “Hot Chick for Hire”. Chelsea has gotten herself knee deep in trouble when she decides to play amateur Spy. Luckily for her, she has her very own James Bond. Her hot British one-night stand comes back into her life just in time to her rescue. Who is going to rescue him from falling in love with a Jersey Girl? Brent and Zane’s bantering provides extra entertainment and a sex party exposures a slice of life totally foreign to me. Not sure I will ever look at a cat’s tail without thinking of this book. The author hits her mark, with another delicious sexy romantic comedy.
Can a one night stand turn into forever? Tristan is an agent for MI6, Chelsea works at the Guardian Angel Protection Services. They have a history, and possibly a future if Tristan can just figure out what happened to her. Chelsea is searching for a friend who has gone missing after taking a job with an escort service. The only way to figure this out, is to go undercover at the escort service to try and find Morgan. Tristan will stop and nothing, including disobeying orders from headquarters to find her. Why didn’t she ask Zane for help? Why didn’t she try to find Tristan to help? This was a fun story, with a steamy side! Check this book out today!
Tristan hadn't been in contact with Chelsea since he took her to an Embassy party as his fake fiance six months ago. Now he is casually told that she might be missing and he immediately goes to find her. Chelsea has put herself in danger trying to find her friend who is working for an escort company but is not allowed contact with anyone. Will he find Chelsea before anything happens to her? Will they find her friend and will she be ok? When he is told to report back to London and will be reassigned to somewhere else, what will he do about his feelings for Chelsea?
Absolutely love this series and this the third book is just as good as the previous two
Tristan is a suited spy who works with his best friend Zane The scenes where the SEALS with Zane act on his intelligence was extremely descriptive. Now Chelsea who works with Zane has gone missing and Tristan is going to have to admit his feeling for her as he endeavours to save her life. He will do what ever it takes to track her down even if he has to go rogue.

What a great story. It is so well written that it kept me on the edge the whole time. I just had to know what came next. Very captivating because of the writing style and the use of words. Characters are so well described that you almost feel you know them and you are there with them in the story. A lot of twists, emotions, passion, drama, danger, chemistry, attraction, love and lust mixed with humour, disappointment, suspense, surprises and attraction makes it worth the read. This is a must read if you like romances with a twist.
Anoth great standalone second in a new series with friends from old series. It is a fast paced, very sexy, super fun, captivating and entertaining spy story. Tristan comes back from England to find the women he cant get off his mind and Zane's receptionist has gone missing. I loved following Tristan's POV as he potects her and helps her out of the mess she has gotten into. They have been together before. Can they make it to a HEA between the dangerous spy stuff and his residence in England?

Cat Johnson's Spy for Hire was a very cute easy to read romance/adventure story. While I know that Chelsea and Tristan had their first meet in the Girl for Hire short story, I hadn't read it and felt the author gave enough background information to make this book work as a standalone. I enjoyed all the characters and their banter. It was a fun read on s rainy afternoon. I received an advance reader copy from Booksprout.
Tristan and Chelsea are perfect for each other. When she goes missing it makes Tristan think and he starts to realize she means more to him than he thought. This book will have you on the edge of your seat while flipping the pages of your Kindle to get to the end. I definitely couldn't put it down. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series.

A nice suspense lite. This was mostly about the romance with a bit of suspense. A couple of almost tense moments that were entertaining. Otherwise, this was all about Tristan coming to terms with falling in love. Poor guy. He actually fell quite gracefully with only a bit of a struggle. He was rather sweet, really. Loved how he resolved things.
A well written, exceedingly good read with lots of 007-ish drama. I loved the interaction between the characters and I especially liked how the author wove the steamy scenes with the characters into the storyline. It could have been lots of steamy scenes or lots of 007 dramatic scenes, but the author blended both aspects together and created a great book. I do wish book 2 and 3 had been put together to create one book as they are each rather short, but still a good read.
It starts from a bit past the last story! Chelsea's friend Morgan had told her about this great job,and now a week later has gone unresponsive, no calls,no texts !now two weeks later Chelsea has done the same, except, she has a British spy and part of seal team 6 wanting to know why and where!! Several tight run ins later people are found and a shady company is compromised, as it needed to be!nobody needs that perfect of a job anyway!!
I had been really looking forward to Tristan and Chelsea's story. After reading Chick for Hire in the Sirens of Sass Anthology, and although I did enjoy Spy for Hire. There just wasn't enough action or adventure in it to completely grab me. But, the story was fast paced and I really liked the characters and the romance, and there was certainly plenty of heat throughout.
Well how can a spy like James Bond romance not be a sexy fun read and so worth it. I absolutely love the characters. Chelsea is way to trusting for me and her roommate is the same their door is left unlocked. Great romance with steamy hotness

Action packed, fun and very steamy, Tristan and Chelsea's story. Intensely suspenseful. This book offers plenty of twists, emotions, drama and romance to keep you engaged and entertained. A great read! This is my honest, voluntary review.
I really enjoyed this one. I think it's got a very "James Bondish" feel to it. The characters are all strong, there isn't anything wimpy about them. Chelsea is waaaaaaaay too trusting for me, and she's got a dumb@ss roommate who leaves the door unlocked on the apartment that just slays me.
