Thriller.

Billion-dollar casino in Macau, dirty money, human trafficking of ten years old girls. Will Slater character has a good heart and he has to finish what he started. In this story he rescued a nine years old, brainwashed and drugged girl. Many unbelievable actions and killings, even pet mountain lions killing people.

Matt Rogers never disappoints his serious fans who read his fiction as soon as possible after release. Will Salter is definitely one of the “good guys” who is fighting against the most vile evil on the planet earth. The author has developed this second character (after Jason King) very well. Rogers describes bursts of adrenaline and sweat leaking pores, but this can also be applied to the reader who is sucked into a metaphorical roller-coaster ride of action. And once started, this book is definitely hard to put down. I agree that this is a good stand-alone action thriller. But I also recommend reading the Jason King stuff first to get a good understanding of the background story. Excellent fight scenes, with the tactical and strategic planning of Will Slater, who succeeds against great numbers, but less conditioned and less disciplined hired thugs. Strong work, Matt Rogers.

I am so lucky to have read the first "Jason King" novel because once I read Matt Rogers there was no way I could pass up any book he wrote. My usual genre is pure mystery so to be hooked on action thrillers was a huge surprise for me. Will Slater is a character from the "Jason King" series and he is as good as the original. I will never post a spoiler but I must say the interaction between Slater and a young girl is priceless. I can picture her sitting there, scared, but still engaging Slater in a conversation about what is going on. I received an ARC in return for a fair and honest review.. I will not pass by any Matt Rogers book because they are always action packed. The only problem I have is I don't have anymore to read.

"Money, Money, Money"

Outside the huge Mountain Lion Casino and Resort in Macau, Will Slater rescues a young girl being snatched off the street by a group of casino security guards. He discovers she has information about the billionaire owner of the casino, Peter Forest, which could bring Peter down. Being previously a paid government assassin, he unravels dark secrets which will bring out the rage buried inside Will Slater. I found this story too involved as to who has all the money. Halfway through I felt I was wasting my time. The story actually bored me and not very many novels do. I quit read it.

Love Will Slater Series

Since meeting Will Slater in the Jason King series, I was so happy to read Will's stories. This one, Lion is as good as the 1st, Wolf!
Couldn't put it down. Ok Matt Rogers, keep Will Slater going on and on, and who knows maybe he'll met Jason again in one of the next novels.

Will Slater is a different kind of good guy. Has a big heart and just will not walk away from trouble until he has solved the problems. Love this author's books. They are always full of action.

Lion: A Will Slater (Book 2)

A note exciting book. I thought the message about sex slavery and young girls is appropriate for the times now. So glad Will saved the children. I would recommend this book to anyone.

Absolutely awesome

Oh wow, Matt Rogers has definitely out done himself with this book. There was so much action and pure rage. This is a dark book and must have took some writing. The ending was perfect, I can't wait to see where he goes with the next book.

Amazing

Matt Rogers certainly did not disappoint with Lion. This was one of those late night page turners that you would give up sleep for with no problem. While I had quite the addiction to Jason King, Will Slater is becoming a close second. Absolutely loved the book.

Enjoyable read

The story moves along at a good pace. The hero is likable and there is enough character development to like or dislike characters. I look forward to the next installment.

I stopped reading early

I enjoy good action mystery, but the should have at least some semblance of reality. This was way beyond that.

The first book of any series written by Matt Rogers starts promisingly, but the follow ups are always weak, full of fluff and mindless action. That was what happened with Jason King series and now with Will Slater as well. Slater is more badass than King and the first book Wolf was far better, but the follow up Lion is a dud. Simply there isn't any story. A hero, a villain, a kid in danger. Hero saves the kid from the clutches of the villain. That's it. That's the story. The entire 350 pages are filled with fluff. I like the breakneck action though which is why I keep coming back to Matt's books.

A MR. Adventure Mystery (WSSB - 2)/Casinos and Triads

MR. has. penned an adventure mystery about ex Special Forces Operative Will Slater, who becomes embroiled in problems between a casino owner and the triad that backs him. WS. stumbled upon a sex trafficking ring when he rescued a young nine year old girl. Then the adventure begins. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS
