In the small town of Marshall Glen, Sofia retreats from life following the death of her husband. Six-year-old Kady lives in foster care and hasn’t spoken since a house fire stole her family. After she saves Kady’s dog from drowning, Sofia attempts to stay locked away, but learns—even though she’s given up, her heart wants—to try again.
When Kady runs away from her foster home, Sofia meets the cop in charge of the search, Brandon—her first love. Sparks fly even as she struggles with her conscience. Is she being unfair to her husband’s memory?
When random acts of vandalism turn to attempted kidnapping, Brandon helps keep Kady safe. As the danger deepens, how far will Sofia go to save a child?
The story starts out with a pitiful Sofia feeling very sorry for herself because she lived through a car accident that her husband died. I know that's sad, but it was 2 years ago, anyway while wallowing on the dock, she she a dog run by straight into the water and that starts her on a journey to living again. This is a story of love, loss, greed, and so many other elements. It is so much more than a romance. It's beautifully written with reconnection of finding that first love, of ring yourself again. There action and even intrigue in this one.. The plot was well executed. A great group of characters. A beautiful end that brought tears to my eyes.
I was captivated from the moment I started reading. Sophia’s story intrigued me and my emotions kept my eyes glued to the pages. I firmly believe that things happen for a reason but it seemed that no matter what, Sophia couldn’t get a break especially when the adoption started. Kady, Brandon, and Sawyer waltzed into Sophia’s life giving her the boost she needed after her husband’s demise. And it all began with the moment Phoebe got away from Kady and jumped into the water where Sophia sat contemplating life. Things take a nasty turn when Kady is stalked. If it wouldn’t have been for Phoebe and Zander, the family would have been in even more danger. Such a great read from this Author.
Whisper of an Angel (A Marshall Glen Story Book 1) is a very sweet, emotion laden read. This second chance at love is a very pleasurable and charming book. It is a perfect book for fans looking for reads that offer high emotional content. I'm posting an honest review after reading an advance copy of this book.

Sofia has lost almost everything. She is lost, wallowing in grief and despair until a dog brings a little girl into her life, and everything changes. This heartwarming tale has lots of interesting characters, lots of twists and surprises, and at times had me on the edge of my seat. It isn’t the kind of story I would have necessarily chosen to read, but it was a pleasure: the story was heartwarming at a time when I really needed to be uplifted, but had enough tension and drama to appeal to my brain. I kept thinking, “now what the ‘heck’ will they do to get out of this?” I found the ending satisfying.
First this book to be the authors first debut novel. She did an awesome job with this heart warming novel. Sofia/Lady both are trying to overcome grief nand come to terms losing a loved one. With the help of comfort dogs. They both make some progress. When several things start happening Brandon enters the picture. This book had several twist and turns. This is a must read about finding ones self and second chances all wrapped in one.
What an introduction to a new author this is. This story is well written and flows seamlessly, and the plot has danger, threats, kidnap, emotion, and is a heart-warming read. I was hooked and intrigued throughout, and I look forward to reading more of this authors’ work. I recommend this author for all lovers of second chance romance.

Sophia's journey through her grief toward happiness was inspiring. She never backs down and never gives up. No matter how many times she gets hurt or how many obstacles she faces. Her growing relationships with Kady and Brandon teach her to open up and know that her husband would be happy for her. I laughed and cried through the whole thing. I thought it was fantastic!
I enjoyed this book. It is not usually my genre, but I was very impressed with the writers ability to suck you into the story. I'm not a dog person, not a hater just not an owner and I think I want a puppy now. Nice little story.
I loved reading this book. An amazing rescue of a little girl and her Best friend a dog name Phoebe . A true fairy tale that makes me dream of what would be wonderful to be a part of. Rescuing a precious child and the sweet canines that were in need. I love it. 💞💞💜
Great story line and awesome characters...there's alot going on but I don't feel like it made me feel the strong emotions a story like this should make me feel..

I waffled reading this one. At first, it seemed to be a long climb into happiness, with joy and fulfillment piling onto the main. I didnt want to read some saccarine wishfulfillment. But there was a growing shadow as well, as threats emerges to shatter the newfound happiness. This balance was key, and lead to a powerful climax. The ending, wow, hard to keep a dry eye.
After losing her husband, Sofia has given up on life and happiness. Her concerned sister Frannie encourages Sofia to break away from melancholy, but it takes the intervention of a pack of rescue dogs, an orphaned little girl with a harrowing past, and an old love to pull her into a full and fulfilling life.
Filled with action, Whisper of an Angel delivers heartache, recovery, understanding, and redemption. Resourceful, passionate Sofia protects those she loves with the ferocity of a momma bear. Her old high school beaux, Brandon, helps her along a difficult legal nightmare and reintroduces her to love. Sofia's family supports her as she struggles to embrace life again. But ultimately love wins the day.
I'm not even sure where to start with this book. You would never know this was Jaiyn's first novel. It will take you on a rollercoaster of emotions from beginning to end! She definitely did a fantastic job building the characters and story line. You can't help but fall in love with them. If you cry easy, you might want to have tissue handy! Great book and I highly recommend it!
