He was worked with 1000's of people in the pursuit of excellent health.
A passionate health activist, Daniel believes that many of us are sleeping giants with a potential for greatness that can be unlocked through the attainment of excellent health and the energy and vitality it brings.
I have not only read the book but implemented it in my life. I am living proof that it works to make the changes anyone wants to make in their body by using the science of exercise and nutrition, as well as the philosophies behind healthy compliance.
The coaching from the Bartletts allowed me to reach my goals including weight loss, toning and trimming, and building muscle – all through a personal Blueprint plan that I designed with the guidance in the book based on my own body, lifestyle and goals.
The best part is in the title: For Life. The methods are based on facts, and the blueprint is based on me, so the results are sustainable forever - unlike fad diets and programs that a person can't be reasonably expected to follow indefinitely.
Transform for Life is one of those rare books that lives up to its title. Whether new to the world of health & fitness, returning after previous aborted attempts, or already a fit and healthy person, there is plenty of information in this book that you will find invaluable.
Whereas many other health and fitness books are laden with terminology and unrealistic goals, Transform For Life is written in plain and simple language – without patronising the reader – making it an accessible and enjoyable read. Daniel & Alexandra Bartlett are undoubtedly not only great fitness trainers, but also great authors who truly understand the frustrations of their target audience.
The book is split into three parts, starting with The Science behind keeping yourself fit and healthy, which demystifies the processes behind weight / fat gain and loss; The Art details how to remain compliant and consistent with your dieting and exercising, helping to motivate you in reaching your goals; The Blueprint is a set of resources, including tracking sheets and coaching tables that will help you identify what changes to make to your diet or exercise to reduce fat, gain muscle, or maintain weight.
Without any doubt, Transform For Life is the best health & fitness book I have ever read. It has unknotted the string of conflicting information given by so many other books.
I have been a fan of the Team Body Project workouts and the no nonsense ethos for a couple of months. The three books explains a straightforward approach to adopting a healthy lifestyle that you can use to get results. As someone who has been on and off dieting for decades, I Iike that it gives you tools so that you can create a blueprint for change that fits your lifestyle. No quick fixes, arbitrary rules or vague promises. Just clear and useful information and tips that you can use day by day to make better decisions.
Transform for Life is unlike any other book you'll ever read. This is not a diet book. This is a health book. If you're looking for the latest fads, unsustainable diets, and "quick" fixes to weighloss, this book isn't it. Now if you want long lasting results with a healthy balanced sustainable lifestyle, then you need not look any further! As a long time Team Body Project member. I know the Transform for Life program is the real deal. I've seen it, I live it. As for the book itself, it's very well written, organized and detailed so that no that no information gets misconstrued. You'll get the facts (real honest full truths, not the half truths most of the healthy industry sells)! There is also the touch of humor that makes you feel connected. I highly recommend reading Transform for Life! It's a life changer!
Really well written. I've read a lot of exercise/nutrition plans. This is well designed, thought provoking and humorous all at the same time. I love Daniel's writing style. He's obviously poured his heart and soul into this book, and it's clear he wants you to succeed and be the best you can be. I'm early in the plan so have no progress to report on yet, but as he states in his book, as long as you're disciplined and committed to changing your lifestyle, this plan is as good as any out there. I've been doingTeam Body Project's workouts for years now, and they never disappoint. This is another piece in the puzzle of making an allround fitness lifestyle fun and doable, regardless of fitness level. I can't recommend it highly enough. Let Daniel's enthusiasm rub off on you. You won't be disappointed.
I have read so many weight loss books, they never taught me what I needed to know. This book stands alone, if you read this and join the program I promise you will have a whole new positive perspective on long term health.
For over 20 years I have been reading anything health and fitness related. like data, and I like to educate myself on subjects that interest me. I also wanted the answers. If you had asked me prior to reading this book if I knew the fundamentals of weight-loss and health, I would say sure, I have read at least 25 books on the subject. Transform for Life will take all of the fluffy diet data you have stored in the dark recesses of your brain from all of those previous books, and it will open the windows of your mind and set it all free. Free. You will not need it anymore. Not only will you not need it anymore, you will see exactly why you never used it. This book is not about putting a dress on something unpleasant to make it appeal to the masses. This book strips it down, forces you to look it in the eye and re-evaluate everything you thought you knew. It WILL answer the burning question of "why am I not losing weight?". It really will. There is enough information in this book to change everything about your diet, or just a little. The choice is yours, and the information to support that choice is meticulously laid out for you. I am a proud member of body project and I can tell you that I have seen this work first hand. I have seen not only results, but an inspiring, caring coach who makes it happen. When you crack the spine of this book, you will know immediately that you have opened more than just a book. You have opened something inside of yourself that will allow you to believe in yourself again, because there is no way Daniel will let you fail.
It's not at any library but I found their blog at TEAM BODY PROJECT. Their plan promises that we would: Lose fat and retain muscle mass Get fit and tone our muscles Improve most health markers Reduce chance of disease.
24 pages of suggestions include various ways for fitness; including the fitness test to start of with.
Exercise at least 20 minutes per day Remember a rest day. Their 10 exercise basics are great reminders. There are ways to use boxing to sculpt and tone.
The eating guide: 1. Eat protein Most people don’t eat enough protein, but protein is the building blocks of the human body. Without it we can’t repair or build new muscles.
2. Healthy fats. 3. Healthy carbs. 4. Load up with vegetables. 5. Drink enough water -1 to 3 litres daily 6. Eat slowly. Put down your cutlery during a meal. 7 Track your calories for weight loss- quantity is important. 8. You can break the rues from time to time. Following the rules 70% of the time is fine. 9. A healthy environment encourages healthy eating. Clear out your cupboards- Replace with healthy attractive snacks. 10. Food is only food. No food is only good or only bad Food is not the solution to or the cause of our problems. Food is to be enjoyed and helps us live a healthy, happy life.
There is no one-size-fits-all diet gimmick in this book, and that's the true blessing of it. The Bartletts walk you through the science of fitness and nutrition, the psychology of how we interact with food, and using that knowledge to chart a custom course through your individual fitness journey. It answered every question I had about why certain things I'd been doing on my own worked, why the things that weren't working didn't work or had stopped, and if I should freak out yet. The answer to that last one is always "no", by the way; among other things, Daniel and Alex are wizards at talking you away from bad impulses.
At this writing, a downloadable version of Transform For Life comes with the free tier of Team Body Project membership, and as a carrot to get you through the door it goes well above and beyond expectations. The information in the book is solid enough that it doesn't require signing up for the TBP program--that is, what they're telling you works with any exercise program and there isn't a built-in upsell to "unlock" it--but they obviously work very well together.
Truly a health book, not a diet book. It's not always an "easy" read as some of the concepts take some time (at least for me) to get your head around. I love, love, love that there is a "blueprint" and there's also quick starts if you don't want to dig too deep. Having done Body Project workouts for a few years, I was very excited for Daniel and Alex to share more knowledge and boy did they ever. There are no quick fixes for long-term health and life is ever-changing. This book, along with daily movement will get you there if you make the decision that health is your goal. I'm a work in progress but I have never stuck with a health process as long as I have Body Project and they include physical, mental and emotional. Truly outstanding work product here and something I refer to constantly.
After spending years overweight, I made the decision this year to tackle my health during lockdown. After losing 10 of 30kgs I decided that I didn't want chicken wings and needed to incorporate exercise and build muscle.
I started cruising the workouts on YouTube and found these guys. Their approach really speaks to me, so joined up. Both have a way of motivating people and changing the way we view our bodies. they push me to my limits without me wanting to give up
I received these books as part of my membership and I wish I had of read them at the start. I now understand a lot of the small things that need to be changed like the macronutrients and how to work the exercise into my daily routine.
I recommend this book for anyone who is even thinking about starting a health journey, you will not regret it
Transform For Life is a book that empowers its readers. It's a fact-based, science-based read, no fluff, no hype, no fads, it's bare bones, basic stuff, the kind of stuff that gets long-term, sustainable results. This book is a breath of fresh air, its "real," and there are no miracle products being pushed onto the reader. There's also no judgement whatsoever. You're provided with clear, concise information...scientific information, and you're given a variety of options and programs from which to choose (based on the results you want to achieve), along with sound, sustainable nutritional advice. If the reader chooses to comply with the behaviors suggested in this book, success is ensured. It will be a go-to resource for years to come!
Whether you want to lose weight, get fit, or both Transform for Life is an excellent book. The Science gives you the facts about your body and calories and exercise. It is very straightforward and understandable (with a bit of humor too). The Art of Change (my favorite) is a must read. It imparts knowledge to help you make changes in the real world where everyday life seldom goes as planned. And the Blueprint gives you the resources to make these changes based on you - your body, your lifestyle, your life.
I freakin love this book. Its a pretty no fuss manual for transformation... It does what it says on the tin... But that's the point. This is designed to be a no fuss manual!
The best part of this book is that the learning is so straight forward, and completely applicable. Since reading it I've gained a much better understanding of how to make the changes to my body that I want, and I'm sticking with it.
You need this in your life... unless you just want to read something that reinforces whatever you want to hear... If that's you, you'll hate this book ;)
The Bartletts and Team Body Project - the best thing that has happened to me in years! Their book has been eye-opening for a slightly older gal; in one month I have really "transformed..." This is not a diet, but a shift to what I can do!
I love this book. So true and so well written. English is not my native language but this book is so easy to understand. I am following the program and believe me...I am transforming already.
A clear concise, no BS manual, to guide you on the path to health and fitness. No false promises, no fad diet plans, just a summary of well researched information about how to create your own blueprint for transforming YOUR body and YOUR life.
Knowledge is power, and I think this book completely embodies that. The book walks you through how exactly your body works, and then helps you develop a personalized plan that can help you reach your goals, whether that is weight loss, muscle toning, etc. They turned something very complicated into information I can use amd apply to my life, I think this will change lives! Simply Brilliant!
If you want a book that promises miracle weight loss secrets and ways of getting fit whilst sitting on the sofa, this book is not for you!! If you want a book that tells you the truth and gives you the tools to lose weight, to get fit and to live a healthy life then this book is most definitely for you! There's no B.S. in here, just facts and information that will help you reach any target you want. It is very well written and you know from the start the author knows exactly what he's talking about! I would highly recommend it to anyone!
This is not a quick-fix book.... but it is the simple unblemished truth of how to eat healthy, exercise, and get your body into shape. Written for real people, normal people, young and old. And it helps you not only with the "what to do", but also with the "getting yourself to really do it. Plus a touch of humor to lighten it up. The book is written well and clearly. This book takes the guesswork out of weightloss and leads you on a clear, SENSIBLE path to healthy living and self acceptance. Highly recommended.
