Kamaurri Elizabeth Hadley is eighteen years old, and if you looked up ‘over privileged’ in the dictionary, her face would be the picture plastered next to it. Able to get anything she can dream of, Kamaurri is not only extremely spoiled, but she’s sheltered. Not for long though. After meeting Nikko, who promises to show her nothing but love and affection, she falls head over heels. Fast, too. When Kamaurri makes a last minute, drastic decision that could alter the course of the life she thought she wanted, she realizes her Nikko isn’t who he portrayed himself to be. Unfortunately, by then, she’s moved all the way across the country just to be with him. With her parents cutting her off, Kamaurri has no choice but to shake back and learn the language of the streets, which she never had to know before. When she meets Zorion “Zolo” Richmond, Kamaurri is already broken, bitter, and broke. But she quickly realizes Zolo is able, and willing, to work through all three of those issues. But, no hood love can be expected without complications. Kamaurri and Zolo’s love is no different, and when they’re faced with obstacles, they’ll have to test their relationship to the maximum of its limits. Come take an adventure with Kamaurri, Zolo, Nikko, and Deijah in this standalone, “I Take Refuge in My Thug.”
Man this book was good! Having so many different twist and putting this person with this person was something else! I’m glad maurri got to go to Chicago wish it wouldn’t of been nikko though! If she had t of never went she wouldn’t of found out the truth of who her parents was and that she was stolen. Plus finding zorian and making him step up to protect and honor her in only a way a man should do his woman. When he first meet her it was something about her to him and I’m glad he stepped in when she needed someone! Now his brothers wasn’t to bad either! I felt bad when Zav found out that the baby he thought was his wasnt. And then dejiah thinking it’s okae and he stilllbloving her could get them over that. But what type of mom was she to want to lie and not save her son. But the best kept secret was when they found out that their sister had a child and went and got her! That couldn’t replace their sister but it was a big help in helping them heal! Now she is being raised by a family that loves her! And the ending was perfect! They have both been through so much and they where able to calm each other down! Zorian stepped up and not only was about to become a Daddy again but this to a husband! It’s no stopping the Richmond’s! And plus they are about to have Baby Zay! Great ending
This was a very good book! Kam went through some things and soon learned the truth about her life. I felt so bad for her. She always knew she was adopted but never knew anything else besides where she was born. I couldn’t stand Nikko and knew something was up with him once they were both in Chicago. He didn’t seem right and his ugly side definitely came to light. His truths also came out and left Kam shocked in many ways. Who would have thought her dealing with him would open up plenty secrets. I loved the Richmond brothers. Zay was such a clown at times but when it was time to be serious he could. Zolo was everything. He was a good dude and when he met Kam he made sure to look out for her. I felt bad for Zavior because he fell for a woman that turned out to be all about games. She was full of lies. She played a game that Zav ended up playing right along with her. Too bad things had to end so badly. I loved how things ended. Kam deserved be happy and she met that one man that could truly make her happy!
Where do I begin? At first. I was afraid to continue this book. It started off so sad and I didn’t want to see it go a certain route. I put the book down after the first chapter but the. I was intrigued as well. This book is definitely a page turner and will not disappoint! Myah you have done it again! Keep that pen going! Thank you. Now I’m sad because it’s over. Lol
This was my first by the author but it won’t be the last! There was so much drama and suspense in this story that I often found myself having to take a breather! Those brothers were close knitted and Mauri grew so much as a character. That Nikko was a true piece of work and karma wasted no time with him. I personally enjoyed how everything came full circle. It was unexpected and definitely fast paced!
I loved this book and was sooooo happy to be a part of being able to read it in its early stages. Was still able to be surprised as she continued to add more twists and turns to it! Loved it. Now I’m about to go get the rest of her books I haven’t read..... wait I’m on the Bookies Challenge....🤔 I’ll get it done! Keep writing Myriah!
There was so many twists and turns in this book i almost got whiplash. I didn't expect some of the story to play out as it did, but it was still a decent read. Kam held her own after having to grow up faster than she expected and adapt to being in a different environment.
This book was so good with its plots and twists I loved every minute of it I was so worried for Kam and Zo I’m so happy they was blessed in the end congrats on the book and continue to do an amazing job 😘
I'm glad that Kamaurri was able to find love. Who knew that moving to Chicago would open Pandora's box. I didn't expect that from Nikko at all what a twist.
Myah came through with this one. So much drama. I'm happy Nikko died. Deijah should have did a DNA test to avoid dying. We still don't know if Maurri had herpes smh.
This book was so good..It had so many twist in it.. The drama and all had me bit wanting to put it down. Kam went through some stuff. That Nikko was a mess. I'm glad that after all her asnd Zorian went through they still ended up being together. And she got to find her family.. And gain the Richmond family also.. You will not be disappointed with this book.
