VIKRAM Vikram had dedicated his entire life to controlling his Suytovian rage to become a bodyguard. Then he gets Cassie as his charge. Heat burns between them, putting everything he’s worked for at risk. But how can he let her go when her life is on the line? He has to protect her.
CASSIE Cassie has barely been off the ship five minutes when her mentor has been shot dead and there's a gun pointed in her face. In at the deep end as lead speaker at her first conference and with a time bomb of information in her pocket, the last thing Cassie needs is a distraction. But Vikram is more than a distraction. She falls deeper in love with him every second they spend together and when the time comes to make a choice, she's not sure her career is more important than staying by his side forever.
Vikram is a full length romance novel with no cheating, no cliffhangers, and a happy ever after!
Vikram supposedly has all the requisite elements for a good SF romance, but somehow the pieces just didn't come together for me. Cassie the heroine was too obsessive - about her job, about her mentor's assassination, about her standing at the conference, yada, yada... Vikram the duty-focused body guard didn't have much personality at all, and the barbarian part of him remained pretty much unexplored. Their relationship never caught fire, and I found myself disinterested. The political intrigue got lost in the minutiae of conference scheduling and rescheduling, and it never really made much impact on the story anyway. The danger and the action all happened at the very beginning and the very end, and mostly seemed like an afterthought. I worked my way through the book, waiting for excitement, romance, SOMETHING... The book is dull, flat, all-about-a-business-trip, and boring.
I received a copy as a gift and I am voluntarily submitting this review. This book is a first in a series, Barbarian bodyguard's, from Isadora Hart. She's a new author, I am going to have to keep an eye on. The story is well told with a lot of chemistry between the main characters, Cassie and Vikram. Cassie works for the Universal Rights Foundation at a conference. Cassie is strong and self-sufficient but when her mentor is murdered Vikram is hired to protect her. Despite their differences they fall for each other and things starts to heat up. This is a great read with plenty of twists and turns, intriguing with a lot of sexy scenes but also suspense and action.
Fun and exciting! Being body guarded (is that even a word) by an Alien with lots of attitude and looks, I mean what could go wrong?? Cassie intends to expose the atrocities committed by the Intergalactic Union but after the death of her mentor and the attempt on her life she is placed in the care of Vikram Pallan of Suytov Planet Security. And this folks is where the fun begins, their attraction is smoking, their interaction snarky and their relationship taboo..... I mean how great is that!! This book will keep you glued to your seat with oooh's, aahh's and sigh's a plenty! I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
Title: Vikram Series: Barbarian Bodyguard Book #1 Release Date: #AlreadyReleased Author: Isadora Hart Reviewer: Ingrid Stephanie Jordan Serial: Standalone, No Cliffhanger Genre: #SciFi #Aliens 🛑#3.5Stars🌟⭐🌟🌟 •••••••••••••• This is the first time I've read this author so I'm new to her writings. I was halfway through this book and it seems a little slow for me. YET we did just encountered some sex. Now the action is through out this story. I have to say it's good book. ⚡Cassandra Maxwell aka:Cassie works for the Universal Rights Foundation that is against the Intergalactic Union that has allowed unspeakable acts of torture and they go unpunished. Cassie was with her mentor, Archie going to a conference which Archie had something that would blow this conference wide open revealing the cruelty and torture. They were going to win they hoped, only bloodshed came to them first. ⚡Vikram Pallan is an Alien from the Suytov Planet Security. He has trained for years and worked. Key rule do not get close emotional wise or ever touch the client. Viral was dedicated to his job never would he have a problem. His new job was to protect Cassandra Maxwell from an assassin, piece of cake. WRONG! A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.
