She thought of being a manga artist since she was little. After graduating high school, she took oil painting classes while working on her family's farm. During that time, she also created dōjinshi manga with her friends and drew yonkoma for a magazine. After eight years she moved to Tōkyō and started out as assistant writer for Hiroyuki Etō.
Her debut as manga artist is in 1999 with STRAY DOG. In 2001 she started working on her famous and award winning series Fullmetal Alchemist, that soon gets a successful anime adaptation.
Other works include Silver Spoon (銀の匙 Silver Spoon, Gin no saji Silver Spoon).

"Les enseignements qui se font sans douleur n'ont pas de réelle valeur."
Et voilà, j'ai fini ! A nouveau, je reste marqué par ce manga. FMA fait partie de ces histoires qui ont grandi avec moi. Chaque relecture est différente, mais un vrai plaisir à chaque fois !
C'est un manga hors norme, sans latence, sans redite, sans fillers inutiles. On ne sent pas passer les vingt-sept tomes et c'est déjà la fin.
Les personnages et l'histoire sont profonds et chaque niveau de lecteurs y trouvera une approche différente.
J'aime beaucoup l'humour potache et sans prétention qui donne une âme à l'ensemble, en donnant plus de texture aux personnages.
Lors de cette lecture-ci, je me suis senti beaucoup plus proche de Hohenheim. Il faut dire qu'il est père de deux garçons comme moi, donc l'association est assez simple à faire. Jusqu'à présent, je n'avais jamais ressenti quoi que ce soit de positif à son propos mais ma pensée est plus nuancée maintenant.
L'histoire tient toutes ses promesses et plus encore. C'est un voyage qui vaut le coup d'être vécu. Il restera avec vous, même après que vos souvenirs se soient estompés.
