Full disclosure: Karen is a good friend, and my copy of "Gradual Clearing: Weather Reports from the Heart" is dog-eared and highlighted, because I have learned that Karen can find a nugget of learning-truth in almost any ordinary object or occurrence.
The writing is exquisitely beautiful, because these are, of neccessity, short essays--so each word counts. It's a perfect book for reading at night, when you're likely to get sleepy. Not only are there perfect stopping places, every page or so, but you get to fall asleep while considering Karen's gentle wisdom.
Do yourself a favor and order a copy.
