Join Thea Stilton and the Thea Sisters on an adventure packed with fantasy and friendship!
The Thea Sisters are just about to head off on their separate family vacations when they receive a call from Will Mystery. Once again, there is trouble in one of the imaginary kingdoms! A crack has been discovered in one of the maps in the Hall of Roses. The girls head to the Crystal Kingdom to help uncover the mystery. There, they find that a dragon has been wreaking havoc all over the land. He has been turning all of their precious gems into stone and leaving a path of destruction whereever he goes. The sisters figure out why and help break the spell.
“You see, there is more to the story....” the fairy said.
*REREAD at 2020*
Remarked is overrated.
Sorry to “The Land of the Flowers” though. But I think this latest release deserves honourable mention among the Special Edition collection so far.
It has a surprising twist behind the Crystal Kingdom catastrophe. Will Mystery and the Thea Sisters were trying to help fix and wow, it takes a lot of decision and logic thinking.
Really, really boring, probably because it's way below my reading level. But still.
I only came for inevitable ball scene at the end of these special editions. I love seeing the dress designs and the actual hall for whatever wedding or celebration of "I was under a spell, but the Thea Sisters did a bunch of near impossible tasks with ease because they had the power of FRIENDSHIP, and saved me with the crystal gem!". Because as boring as these books tend to be, the art is always, always phenomenal. I found myself saying "wow!" and gasping aloud a couple of times. That never changes and that's a constant I love about it.
But before I get gushy about the art, I just want to say I'll need more than two hands to count the number of times they used the word "mysterious". C'mon. A thesaurus exists for a reason.
I haven't read this series in a while and I wanted to go back to my childhood and sort of find out what I really liked about all of these books. Reading it now, I felt like it was not as exciting as I remember it being, but that probably is because I'm older now and what I like has changed. If I were to rate this for someone younger than I am, it'd be 4 stars because when I read this during my childhood, I really liked the small challenges and the adventures they go on and the friends they make along the way.
The positives: cool colourful illustrations and some words with colourful and bold fonts. The story is somewhat enjoyable for kids, though it is a bit windy and longish. The negatives: the ending was a bit boring with all of the clothing and jewellery descriptions. Lots of characters to remember and different parts of crystal lands.
This book, in my opinion, is better than any of the other special editions, mostly because of a big twist thrown in. The one drawback: the drawing. This book has more characters than ever that would feel right at home in a manga. Usually that's not a bad thing, but this time it just struck me the wrong way.
My 7-year-old loves these Thea Stilton books, along with the Geronimo Stilton ones, so I picked one up with intention of stealing ideas for a tabletop gaming adventure (No Thank You, Evil!). The typography is mildly hallucinatory--a handful of words on every page are BOLDED, or are an array of Crayola colors, or are squiggly when it would make sense for a word to squiggle. And there are maps and lots of cartoony illustrations. Also: nothing but plot. This one was essentially paced like an 8-bit adventure game: first go here to find your way to the Crystal Kingdom entrance; now go talk to the next character who can direct you to the hidden pathway; now visit this cave before proceeding on to the Crystal Palace for your next mission... I actually took notes as I ready and generated about 30 different steps for an adventure. The result was hours of gaming time, so mission accomplished, I assume.
Question #1: Who was my favorite character and why?
My favorite character was Goldfire the dragon, because he is strong and cool looking.I also liked him because he was rescued in the book. He was strong because he was big and had golden armor. Every time the fairies shot an arrow at him, it would just bounce right off his golden armor.
Question #2: What surprised me?
What surprised me was that Goldfire was under a mysterious evil spell. He was really a knight and his name was really Diamond. The spell got broken in the circle of intense light.
Question #3: Would I change the ending?
No I would not change the ending because the book had such a happy ending that the book would not be as great. When the spell was broken all the rocks turned back into crystals and they sparkled so much. It was the most beautiful thing they had ever seen.
Thea Stilton was what got me into reading in the first place. I have 16 Thea Stilton books. And i loved them all. I still love them, but i don't enjoy them as much as i used to. Because as i grow older, my interest in Young Adult Fantasy grows too. And i've been reading books by Leigh Bardugo or Victoria Aveyard. I think Thea Stilton will forever be my childhood favorite book. I love Paulina and Will, they're perfect for each other <3 (also i've read more than 16 books but i only have 16 of them in physical copies, the others i read in a library) (I apologize if there were misspellings or incorrect grammar, English isn't my first language and I am still learning something new everyday, so please tolerate me if there were mistakes)
It had mysteries about the crystal land and the queens septer broke then she fell asleep and a dragon (diamond the prince) fell into a curse and diamond was stuck in a amber crystal and the princess his love was stuck in the other half of the crystal and the dragon looked for it everywhere and Will and the Thea sisters helped the dragon find the princess and then found her and then the dragon was gone and diamond is back and the princess so loved one’s are back together then they went back to the castle and the queen was awake and alive.

This book is probably my favourite so far of this series it much different than the past books the fairies ask for help in the seven roses unit which is exciting and much better. This book is based on saving crystals who doesn’t love crystals they are so beautiful and mesmerising I would recommend this to young readers. Warmly Book nerd
This book is about helping the Crystal fairy,s beat the dragon.
And the Thea sisters are going through some different Crystal palaces. In the kingdom's the queen that is in a deep sleep. The dragon is actually a big that was curst by a which.
Sister of Geronimo, which is probably the same group of ghosties who write this fluff and this one is long, long, long three times longer than the others and nine times longer than it should be. Bah!
It is an amazing book! It has adventure, excitement, and fun. I loved it and I think that many others will too! I had lots of interesting facts that your child can learn from.
