About the author

Over her two-decade-long career, Simcha has written for Pokémon, Disney, Nick Jr. and Nickelodeon. It all began when she was a student at New York University, Simcha landed an internship at the post-production house that dubbed the first seasons of the Pokémon television show. What started as a summer job in college has turned into a lifelong passion for Pikachu and writing for children. Simcha has authored dozens of Pokémon Books from short stories for beginning readers to detailed encyclopedias for dedicated anime fans. In her free time, Simcha loves to read with her husband and daughter, both of whom look just like Squirtle.

My kids love Pokemon, so finding this was an instant hit to add to their collection. While it's a fairly simple formatted book, and is largely informational rather than story based, there are a lot of a words in it. Enough that my daughter will complain it is too hard at the same time as begging to read more. The tie in with the Pokemon world and how popular that is lately, makes this an easy draw for the kids to keep their attention, so we can keep pushing them to work on those reading skills as they really do want to read the book. Deceptive for the subject and format that it would be more challenging to some kids.

Like the title says, it's 'All About Pikachu'! The book is about Pikachu, his relationships with Ash and other Pokemons, his power/attacks, how helpful he has been throughout the journey, the people and Pokemons he met, etc.

There are cute pictures, awesome facts and loads of information regarding Pikachu.

It's a concise book on Pikachu and a Pokemon or a Pikachu lover would definitely enjoy it.
