Both of these pint-size porkers boast some serious stats, so in a head-to-head (er, snout-to-snout?) smackdown, whose corner are you in? Piglets vs. Pugs: Who will win?
These cute critters bring their A-game to this closely matched competition. Sure, they're both adorable, but as much as they have in common, they are distinct in their own ways. Get in on the fun as they battle it out in 23 kooky and quirky categories, including Biggest Smarty-Pants, Best Dressed, Biggest Foodie, and more. It's up to you to follow the action and decide who's the ultimate winner! One thing we know for sure: You'll be a pig and pug expert by the end of this epic (and squeal-worthy) showdown!
This book is so much fun! Piglets Vs. Pugs? And the judge is the reader? How will we ever decide? Even though we made it to the end of the book, I'm not sure we did! You can even log in to NatGeo for kids and vote on line (which we, of course, did). We had so much fun reading this one. I need to see if NatGeo has more in the same format.
Which is better, piglets or pugs? Readers get all the facts comparing these two so they can make an informed decision and then get online and vote for their favorite.
I absolutely loved the first book in this series that had penguins facing off against puffins, so I had to see if this was just as good. There's tons of info on both pigs and pugs and loads and loads of cute photos of both critters. Kids who like nonfiction or pets or competitions should enjoy this read.
DNF page 20. Yeah, it's only 64 pages long, but life is too damn short.
Man, National Geographic has really gone downhill. This was crap. More effort was put into anthropomorphic cartoons than into presenting actual facts about pigs and Pugs.
The final straw for me was seeing a photo of piglet racing. The piglets are usually abused, taken from their mothers well before they should be weaned, then when they outgrow the cute phase, sold to slaughter ... or just slaughtered by the owner.
The resources listed are out of date, since (for example) the Humane Society of the United States has changed its name. The American Kennel Club's website varies considerably in reliability of it's content, since some of the articles were written by content farms.
A super-cute and fun book, everything you could ever want to know about both/either piglets or pugs! Obviously, I think pugs won this so-called battle. (As for the loser, that would be the author, for using all those puns. Sigh.)
