Nightcap is a cute little recipe book for cocktails that would be good throughout the year. The drinks include familiar favorites such as Brandy Alexander along with novel cocktails from bartenders around the country. Kara Newman includes a handy list at the back of the book for sourcing those hard-to-find ingredients. There are some interesting simple syrup recipes to incorporate in drinks. A couple of these feature tea infused in the simple syrup as it's being made. Newman provides an ambitious recipe for Nocino, a bittersweet walnut liqueur made with green walnuts. This book would make a good gift for an enthusiast.

Truly excellent -- there were several cocktails I'm absolutely itching to try. I really appreciate how Newman slimmed down the instructions, so that most of the cocktails were essentially "dump all ingredients into the glass. Stir. Drink." That's my kind of efficiency of drink to mouth.

Another great book by Kara Newman. Really love the nightcap concept, a cocktail category I like a lot. Features some nice drinks, just too bad I didn’t have all the ingredients to make most of the drinks though.

Good. The recipes have a broad selection of ingredients. Lots of Amari and wines.
Gave a good idea of what a Nightcap is and what occasions call for one, and what style fits the occasion.

A very nice selection of "nightcap" drinks, arranged by purpose/intent. There is a fun section at the end on how to make a few liqueurs that can give your drinks a more personal touch.
