The story doesn't work the best if you aren't familiar with the SyFy channel show. At that point, it's just two random factions fighting one another as no one is introduced even though this is a prequel to the show. Still, it wasn't bad and the art was very good.

The TV show was faithful to the comics and vise versa. Having the comic creator and actors be involved in both makes every installment feel truly like you're in Purgatory. I did not expect the battles to go how they did and leave a few pivotal questions unanswered, but Doc is always the friend you want fighting by your side. Hopefully, I find answers in other issues. Either way, Wynonna Earp stands up there with Buffy for me, never standing down whether she has backup and her power or not.

Good story. I did like the anachronistic Mayan. A last stand scenario.

I'm a huge fan of the TV show and that's why I've read this. This is the kind of comic book that you'll only enjoy if you love the show. The plot moves a little bit too slow for my taste and I only got really interested in the last issue, but it leads to a cliffhanger and to more questions than answers the book has provided. But I like exploring some interesting characters that don't show up on the TV version and that would work great there. In the end, easy reading, funny at some points and a good way to wait for season 3. Also, of course, a must if you've always been curious about the key that Wynonna wears around her neck

I think that this one so far is my favorite out of all three, mainly because it sticks more to the story line of the TV show, but with a healthy mix of characters introduced by the other GN's. I kind of hope that they bring her remaining biker buddy into the TV show actually, as i would not mind at all some lycanthropy - as the show has started to expand on other supernatural aspects other than her curse demons. Also I really want to know more of this "heir" business and Mary another crazy chick with a gun!

As much as I loved this set of comic, I have to say it was a little hard to follow. And that is coming from someone who has seen every episode of Wynonna Earp at least 5 times. Without taking in my concern for readers who are not Earp superfans, I would have given it five stars.

With that said, the illustrations are IMPECCABLE. Hernandez does a fantastic job. Each panel is it’s own work of perfection. The art is stylized, but still so technically impeccable, which is something I have noticed some current comic book artists tend to struggle doing.

Beau Smith and Tim Rozon did a great job creating a story with characters we know and love, along with new, equally well rounded characters. It’s so fun that the dialogue of many of the well-known characters is written so well, and so in character, that without even thinking about it, I heard the character’s voices from the show say the lines.

Okay this was a fun read because we got to get a lot more background on Wynonna and how things were for her before she came back.

Obviously there are some things that are way different from the show. BUT it's still great. Especially if you think of it like an alternate timeline or something. LOVED IT.

Excellent prequel to the TV series. Wynonna, Doc and her Black Badge friends head to "The Bloody Porch" to defend previous members of her outlaw gang who are under siege. Plenty of action, amazing art and crisp dialogue make this worth the read. Highly recommended.

Though it's called season zero and does delve into Wynonna's past, I was grateful that the bulk of the story occurs in present day moving the comic's story arc further ahead.

I appreciated all the call outs to writers on the TV show peppered in the military weaponry names.

I just didn't like it 🤷🏻‍♀️
I liked the series alot more. Maybe I'm just behind with everything because there was alot of new characters that I didn't even care about.

This gets better with every volume! We got some new, just as badass characters, some awesome villains that I keep confusing with each other, some more bad decisions, more ancient people, because apparently everyone is a thousand years old and everyone is just cool with it?? MORE FIGHTING/ASSKICKING, Wynonna casually making bad decisions against her better judgement, love triangles that no one is addressing, a pissed-off Dolls and even MORE SASS!

I think my only complaint with this one is that it finished too quickly.
The main factor that will always touch me the most is the familial bond the characters have with each other. They don't have to be actual family like Wynonna and Waverly are, and I love that. Loved that we got to see some of Wynonna's history here as well.

Wynonna gets to go home & someone from her past shows up with some bothersome information. Wynonna's old family & new family come together for a bloody battle. Lots of action & some great little notes here & there about the tv show & some pop culture references. Awesome read.
