This book is full of interesting information for the young reader. It introduces the alphabet from a science or space perspective. It has vivid photo like pictures, glossary and pull out poster for the young reader.

Lesson: This book can be used for various learning experiences in the classroom. The teacher can set up alphabet to cover over a period of time (a letter a day or letter of the week). This can also connect to a science lesson involving the planets or different aspects of the universe.

This book really dives in to what students will learn about space in elementary school. I like this book, because it comes with a poster that you can hang up and a cd-rom. A cool thing to do is to read a letter everyday when studying space in science. You can also have students pick something they like from the book and research more information about it for a project. This could easily be science/social studies related.
