This anthology is an assortment of short stories, all of which are based on the theme: mind games. It brings together a variety of genres including, fantasy, contemporary fiction, horror, and romance. Because it crosses genres, there's something for everyone: ghosts, dragons, WWII pilots, fears, family, conspiracy, and yes, even a vampire.
While some of the stories were more subtle in nature, others surprised me. I don't think you'll soon forget the Red Mah, for example, who comes to kill you if you tell one fib. I know I can't. (I'm shuddering even as I think of him.)
Because each story is short, it makes for a quick and easy read. In terms of content, there are a couple of stories which have stronger themes (war, and horror such as Amahl, and The Most Honest Man that Ever Lived), so I wouldn't recommend it for a young audience. But a teenage audience and above would be suitable.
(This same review was posted to Amazon under my personal account.) Good, solid anthology. With an anthology or collection of short stories, you have the option to read the short stories that interest you; I just went ahead and read all of them. Most are interesting, some present pretty fun concepts, and two of them I rather didn't like. It does what an anthology is for: to give you a sampling of multiple authors so you can know whose books to look up.
