There's a little of me to write.

Like most of the authors, I'd found solace in writing because at one point in time I did not have anyone to confide in.

From then, I've been inclined to writing. The best thing I like about writing is that in the process of describing an event to readers I've become more observant of my surroundings and people.

I work as a marketing manager in Jindal Steel and Power Limited.

First of all I want to thank author for giving opportunity to review the book. I am really obliged. The book is about four individuals Elene, Ramesh, Vidhya and Mithila. The story revolves around life these four people, their struggles, dreams, circumstances and how they overcome and follow their passion. So book title Made of stardust totally justify that. Nice and easy writing. Easy to read and understand. On few pages I found typing mistakes but that is negligible. Story touches our day today life. We can connect ourselves through that but I felt the more correlation between these four characters can be done, so with the plot and twists. Overall nice read for beginners who want to read light!!

To know this read Made of Stardust – A Pursuit of Love, Liberty and Life.
My thoughts: The characters are realistic, they have their own flaws and have made mistakes at some point in their life and they are even trying to rectify their mistakes and learn from them and one can easily relate to them. The language is simple and easy to comprehend. The plot is also good. The book is a light read and one can complete it in one sitting. The cover is also nice. The book would have been great but it still needs editing there were many errors in the book. But, overall it is a good read.

My Rating: 4/5

Arun Kumar's MADE OF STARDUSST A PURSUIT OF LOVE , LIBERTY, AND LIFE a novella talks about the lives of four individuals Eleena, Ramesh, Mithhulia and Anuj s .

Elene ,an engineering graduate has settled in well- paying job. She is so fond of her grandmother she visits her village at the week end and spends time with her. Her parents want her to get married .

Ramesh meets Vidya from Delhi and thy are in love. After his graduation he gets a placement with an IT company. His parents are looking for a girl suitable for him .

Mithila a chief consultant in the steel industry aged 35 and she meets Radhika a 23 year old intern . They visit a plant situated n a remote town of North-East India. to develop strategies to solve their problem.

Anuj works in the CSR wing of an FMGG company m Mumbai.. He goes to Auroville , a small township in Union Territory Pondicherry to study about meditation namely Vipassana. He is in love with Alia .

The book deals with their the happiness as well as pain , their fate and relationship with their parents. Their anxious moments in their respective profession are widely discussed.

The beauty of the tale is that the author has chosen the MCs all educated highly placed professionals in the urban backdrop very much contemporary and at the verge of getting married. At this vulnerable stage they take to many a good activities in spending their time..

I am happy to read about the fondness of Elene towards her grandmother Anne
Mithila childhood days could melt our heart.. Her desire to adopt a girl child is a good idea.

The great solace in reading this book is that despite the fact it talks about the youth touching the good aspects of life. Like social service , attending meditation classes for relieving stress. . The story is neat and soul centric many times conveying several messages.

The tittle and sub tittle are good. Cover design by Hammad is nice.

I like the author Arun’s definition of love

One is in love when she is ready to prioritize her partner’s needs over hers.

What i feel is that there is no depth in this social drama and the plot is thin and events are predictable The language is poetic, some times mundane. .Editing needs improvement.

The book is a light read for romance fans.

Title and cover: The cover of the book although looked aesthetic but I couldn't relate it much to what has held within the book the beautiful stories and everything else within it.The title though is appropriate because somewhere or the other each individual was having their own pursuits and hade different effects of Stardust.

Summary of the story: The book revolves around four people who do not cross each other's sphere in any manner of nature or work or any other thing. These people have different stories and different ambience of work and not to forget have an entire set of problems and aspirations for themselves. What makes their stories intertwined is one incident that occurs to all of them. 26/11 attack that took at various places in Mumbai in India and had an enormous impact on different lives and families that day, whether they lost someone or not everyone was affected by this attack and had a significant setback in their experience. The individual stories are beautiful and tell various phases of human nature as well responsibilities. All over the story is really great.

Review of the book: Personally I loved various lines in the book and have highlighted them to make the caption of my multiple pictures because a few lines are just beautiful. I love how the stories show a person's nature by how they have grown up. How they have related there pasts with there present actions because somewhere or the other that's true, we might have ignored a few things in our childhood, but they do affect us and mould us the way we have become and treat people in our present. After a long time, this story has made me attach to my roots, it might not be an entirely new story, but it's worth a read and makes one wonder the wrong path they have chosen in the past or actually think about themselves. The words in this book are just beautiful, and so are each and every character of the book as they are positive, right and help the other one that belongs with them to outshine.

"NOT ONLY DO WE LIVE AMONG THE STARS, THE STARS LIVE WITHIN US"
The Story is about 4 individual who are not connected but faced a very famous terrorist attack that happened in Mumbai on 26/11/08.
Ramesh, a responsible son of a typical lower-middle-class family, grows up well aware of his family’s struggle to make a living. An ordinary person like any other finds his passion with the help of his college friend Vidya, falling for her in the process, where further he had to choose between his career and his love. To tell his parent's about Vidya, he thinks that he will inform them when they visit him in Mumbai.
Elene, a fashion designer and nature lover. She was her parent's beloved child and her grandmother's companion as well, when she losses her great friend, her grandmother, she had to continue her journey alone where she was unable to decide whether get married or live her life a little more, she used to always proceed thinking if her grandmother would have been in this situation what she must have done, and after talking to her mother, she said she had to go to a meeting in Taj hotel, Mumbai.
Anuj, an employee of a Corporate Social Responsibility division of a famous FMCG company, unable to come to terms with reality, Saying goodbye to his beloved alia, undertakes an intense meditation program named Vipassana in Pondicherry. As he goes to flash back of his past, he always feels guilty for his actions, thinking as if he would have done something that time then this day wouldn't had come to his life.
Mithila, a reputed lady in steel industry, where young employees sometimes fear for her blunt and egoist nature. Admiring Mithila’s success, a young intern Radhika joins her for a project in a steel plant willing to learn from her. As Mithila sees her younger self in Radhika, she opens up like never before, she discovers that her life is not so perfect as she had thought. Conquered by pride, she refuses to do what is necessary to make her life better.
But when they come face to face with terror and fear, each and everyone had handled that situations according their will, but was that enough to save their life? Did they overcome their fear? Or did they survive that attack? Well, i would suggest you to read this book.
There were some editing mistakes like some words were joined but being a debut author, it was a tremendous job to write such a book, a very different way of writing and that i loved it.
Last two chapters were too small and fast, i think it should have been a little long as previous chapters. But overall i love it.

One can say for sure - Arunkumar has written a perfect book. Expertly researched and thought-provoking, yet a perfectly paced, page-turner love story - thriller in its own right. Just the right number of characters, all complex, imperfect, and beautifully drawn. Many times I had to remind myself that this book is fiction, and must be taken as such, which I consider a tribute to Mumbai Terror attack victims.

This brilliant book is not a difficult read. It’s surprisingly slow-moving and low on action. Which is true until the very end? Nothing happens and nothing happens and then everything happens. The story moves very slowly, and things really only start to happen in the final act, yet I was never bored by this book.
Made of Stardust isn’t a suspense novel or a spy thriller or a crime caper. It's a character drama filled with Love, emotions, affections, with a bunch of interesting young, well portrayed characters. These youngsters are having their own mind sets and problems and how they choose their career paths is well narrated in this book.
Ramesh : A middle class youngster, his parents struggles to manage his higher studies. At one stage Ramesh even decides to sacrifice his love for their parents. Thru Ramesh life Arunkumar give us a clear picture about the youngster who takes responsibilities about their parents and their happiness.
The other characters Anuj, Mithila and Elene all are in their Mid-twenties giving us a point to think about life.
The story takes a U turn in the final stages and these youngsters’ takes responsibilities and with confidence and maturity acts courageously and saves few innocents’ people’s lives.
For me the story remains totally absorbing, totally gripping, and despite all the questions i raised about the pacing, this one is a nice read.

We are all nothing but tiny specks of stardust, a figment of imagination. A part of the greater good. Leaves & branches of the same everlasting immortal tree.
Our pains, our
endless sufferings,
our lives, our deaths
mean nothing in front
of the vast expanse
that lie in front of us. It's nothing in comparison to the vast immortal universe that surrounds us.
It is as 'Carl Sagal' once said, "Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark. Our lives are insignificant & meaningless in contrast to the cosmic realm that we dwell in."
It is as 'Sidney Sheldon' once said, "The stars shine down & watch us live our little lives & weep for us."

Coming to the review, this book is a good motivational read. Can be read during weekends. It describes a lot of things related to our everyday lives & can be finished in a day. Though at certain places I felt the book & the short stories were kind of monotonous. The book comprises of the story of 4 people who struggle with their own individual lives & wish to do something about it.
Language is simple, easy to read. Narration is good.
What irked me at times were the typesetting errors that can be found everywhere across the book. The book needs a proper editing & proofreading, the lack of which makes it irritating to finish. Nonetheless, it's a good one time read.
Recommended to the ones who wish to read a motivational book.

Made of Startdust by Arun Kumar is a tale of four people that run parallelly but are connected with each other with a tragedy that happened on 26/11 in Mumbai. These four lives are in no manner related to each other. It’s the tragedy that stays as the common thread in their lives.
The author has done a very good job in handling all the four individual story and not loosing the control over the plot. The idea of the book is very nice and realistic.
The characters are realistic and one can easily relate with them. They are also developed well.
The narration is lucid and the language is simple & easy to comprehend. The book is a captivating read that contains several subtle messages for the readers. I liked the one liners used by the author in the description.
The book is a light and fast read. It’s uncomplicated yet powerful. As a debutante, the author has done a great job in penning the book. Though the book has its share of faults and shortcomings, but I am sure the Arun Kumar will come up with even better books in future.
The cover is nice and soothing. However, it does not succeed in conveying the theme of the book. I loved the title of the book which is apt considering the plot.
Overall, Made of Stardust is a light and enjoyable read, just fit for the weekend. I recommend it to everyone who are looking for reading books with positive messages. I rate the book a 3.5 stars and a half star for the efforts put by the author.

There are times when it takes an event to trigger us to confront our inner demons, which we sometimes don’t even know exist. In this book, a similar thing happens with the four main characters of the book – Elene, Ramesh, Mithila and Anuj. The event that helps them break free from the bondage of their inner demons is the attack of 26/11. The story of all these characters proceeds in a parallel manner, and the only common ground between them are these attacks and a quandary that they are all facing, with respect to their lives. As the blurb of the book also explains:-

Elene loses her grandmother, Anne, and undergoes a transformation in her personal life – which leads to her defying the societal views and standing for what she truly believes in. Ramesh, a responsible son from a conservative middle-class family, discovers his passion with the help of his college friend Vidya falling for her in the process. While he attains some stability with his job, he has to eventually compromise with his love situation as well. Mithila, a reputed stalwart in the steel industry whom young women look up to, discovers her life is not as perfect as she thought. But her pride refuses to bring amendments to her life. Anuj, a young employee who is unable to cope with reality, attends a 10-day meditation program. As he revisits his childhood through the program, his complex life unravels and presents to himself. Shaken with guilt, he heads on a journey to repent for what he had not done when his actions were needed the most.

The best thing about this book has been how the writer has done justice to each and every character in the book. This is especially commendable, since the stories run in parallel and also common grounds. Additionally, since the language used is lucid and easy-flowing, the reader remains captivated for most part of the story, making it quick and easy to pace through this 188-paged book.

The cover of this book has a very subtle allusion to what the story stands for – a person’s liberation from despair, pride, guilt and fear (which the protagonists of this story face). It appears to be simple, but is deceptively so. The only minor plaint that I have is that the end was a bit rushed. Maybe the author did not wish to make the story sound monotonous, due to which the end of the story was slightly hasty, but all in all, the story was done justice to. For a debut novel, Arun Kumar has done a great job.

My review would be incomplete if I don’t applaud the author for choosing a quote of Carl Sagan to start his narration with, which goes as:

“The nitrogen in our DNA, the calcium in our teeth, the iron in our blood, the carbon in our apple pies were made in the interiors of collapsing stars. We are made of starstuff.” (Carl Sagan, Cosmos)
