Our Next Chapter by Michelle Sullivan is a contemporary romance book. This book is my favorite so far by this author. It is a must read! It took me on an emotional roller coaster ride that just did not quit. I know exactly what I am getting when I open one of this author's books. I don't hesitate to pick up one of her books. Her writing is such that it pulled me in right from the beginning and kept me engaged right until the end. Her attention to details made me feel as if I was right there with the characters. Her characters are both lovable and connectable. They are true to life and I could easily see myself being friends with them. They will take you on a few twists and turns that you will leave you wanting more. This is a romance story about two people growing up together and falling in love with each other. They were soulmates until one day they were separated. Now it is seventeen years later and she has returned home. Is the man she once was so in love with still offering her a future? Is it possible to put the past behind them and forgive to move forward? What will fate have in store for them? Is it possible that to much time has passed and they are better off going their own ways? I loved the characters in this book. Some not so much but for the most part they have sass and attitude. They know what they want and how to get it. They are strong, courageous and I felt compassion for them. They are characters that show so much growth throughout the story. I don't want to say to much more without spoiling it for everyone. I highly recommend this book. It is a story that will warm your soul and pull at your heartstrings all at the same time. Find out if there is a happy ending for this couple.

Our Next Chapter by Michelle Sullivan is a beautiful second chances romance that’s packed full of emotion. Ms. Sullivan weave’s a tale that encompasses heartbreak, betrayal, pain, anger, regrets, confronting the past, confusion, drama, trust, hope, passion, friendship, and love. I always know when reading one of Ms. Sullivan’s novels that my emotions are going to get a battering, and this story was no exception.
Karalyn James and Desmond Madden (Dez) were inseparable as children, there isn’t a childhood memory that doesn’t contain the other. They would often talk about their future, dreaming and planning their lives together- with the expectation that they would eventually marry, have babies and grow old together. Their bond of friendship developed and grew over the years and eventually turned romantic, then blossomed into much more on the night of Karalyn’s Graduation. This was a pivotal moment for them- their love had been sealed for eternity- or so they thought at the time.
Because of situations out of either of their control, Karalyn moves to San Francisco, which breaks both their hearts. The plan was always that Dez would join her there as soon as possible, but fate had other plans. His betrayal cuts deeply, shattering her heart into a million pieces and leaving her alone at a time when she needed him the most.
Karalyn moves on with her life as best she can, but a large part of her is stuck in the past, still grieving the shock and loss. Seventeen years is a long time to be in denial, and a long time to spend avoiding your home town. But, here she is after all these years finally back in the town that holds all her painful memories. She didn’t think she’d ever return but eventually relented for her brother who’s throwing a party. She also thinks it might be a good time to also put the ghosts of her past to rest. But what she doesn’t expect is to have all those old feelings come rushing back the moment she arrives back in town. Having to confront her past again after all this time will test her on many levels. But ultimately, she discovers that she never really moved on at all and her heart had always belonged to Dez. What happens when they come face to face after so long? And what happens when their truths are laid bare? With deceit, betrayal and manipulation in the mix- will the real truth finally come out? Will these revelations unite them once again, or destroy any shred of love they had left?
These characters were amazing- so realistic, relatable and believable. I was rooting for them fairly early on in the story. This story took me on quite the emotional journey, which is something Ms. Sullivan excels at. I felt their pain and heartbreak and couldn’t believe what they’d been through- especially when everything that happened when they broke up is fully revealed- I was shocked and hurt for them. There were definitely a couple of characters that I wanted to hit after finding out what happened!!!
Another wonderful story from Ms. Sullivan. I am looking forward to reading Quinn’s story next in “Our Unexpected Hope”.

Thank you, Ms. Sullivan!

This my first time reading this author and overall I loved this book. This book is a contemporary romance about second chance love, and soul mates finding each other once again. This story is filled with tons of secrets, betrayal, love, and determination. The writing style was nice, it seemed to have a loose flow which worked for this book and made it interesting to see where it would land so to speak. I felt like I really got to know the characters, although the background and setting felt like it took a slight back seat, it was right up my alley. I would recommend this book to my friends and anyone who enjoys romance novels and long lost love.

I love second chance romances! There's just something about them that I find sweet, hopeful and of course, dramatic. Usually they end up being a good read, this was no exception. The chemistry, the love between Dez and Karalyn is undeniable. You can feel how much they care about each other, the author does a fantastic way writing their pain and anguish. The secrets between them, the lies and the betrayals they face from each other, themselves and the people in their lives led to a gripping, dramatic and romantic story that was hard to put down for me. The flashbacks in the story added tension that gave the book that realistic feeling. I didn't seen some of the twists coming and I enjoyed figuring out why Dez was the way he was, and the troubles he had went through. Two different POV was a great choice for this kind of story.

Our Next Chapter by Michelle Sullivan 5 stars

This is my first book by Michelle Sullivan, but it won't be my last! Her writing made me feel like I was in the story. She has a very descriptive and emotional style of writing. I felt like I knew the characters as well as I know my best friend. The emotions that the characters portray is very raw and true to life. This book is a contemporary romance about second chance love. This story is packed with secrets, betrayal, love, and determination. Anyone that has loved and lost, became a parent, or wants a second chance at love will relate to this story. It has everything a good romance novel should have, plus more. This novel had me yearning for more after the story was over. It is one of those stories that you don't know whether to hate or route for the relationship. Karalyn and Dez had a love they had to fight for from the beginning. There were so many outside forces causing problems from the start. They were pulled in every direction but together. What do you do when family and love don't meet eye to eye? Dez would do anything to keep Karalyn safe. Karalyn would do anything to keep the love of her life part of her life. Sometimes life isn't fair, but you have to do what is best for everyone involved. Family always does what they think is best for you, but they tend to not see the bigger picture. Sometimes family will overlook the love between two people and think they know what is best for the ones involved. Family can be narrow minded and shallow. Their story is one I won't soon forget. This book was a page turner that took me on an emotional journey and I couldn't put it down! Every twist and turn kept me yearning for more. Karalyn and Dez are two characters that will stay with me long after I finish the book. I recommend this book to anyone who likes to be emotionally involved in the lives of the characters. This story is well written and thoroughly thought out. I enjoyed learning all about the ins and outs of the lives of Karalyn and Dez from seventeen years ago through today.

This is the first book I have read from this author and she blew me away. I love second chance romance but this book exceeded all of my expectations. These two characters drew me in right from the start. I could not put this book down. It only took me a little over a day to devour this beautiful love story.

Karalyn and Dez grew up together as kids. They were inseparable. Karalyn and Dez ending up falling in love with each other when they were just in high school. They thought they were meant to be. When Karalyn has to move away after graduation they end up breaking up . She leaves her hometown broken hearted and with a deep secret that she can't tell no one . Seventeen years go by and Karalyn returns to her hometown to celebrate her brother’s birthday. She is so nervous that she is going to see Dez that she almost doesn’t go. Karalyn goes to the party and is having a good time until she sees him walk in. She has so much to tell him but she flips out on him. Little does she know that everything is not what it appears. Karalyn hates that she still is in love with Dez after all that she has been through. She finally tells Dez the secret she has been holding on for seventeen years. This changes both of their lives for good. Will Karalyn get over the past and find a new chapter in her life or is it too painful to forgive?

I absolutely loved this book. The storyline has it all romance, heartbreak, betrayal, and forgiveness. You will fall in love with these characters right from the beginning. Karalyn is a very strong independent woman. She has a beautiful heart but she can also bring the sass if needed. Dez is very handsome and hard working. He absolutely loves Karalyn with his whole heart and would do anything to make her smile. The way he treats Karalyn will make you swoon. These two characters have some steamy scenes that will make your temperature rise. I loved that these two characters stayed strong even when things got really hard. These two characters will hold a place in your heart. I can’t wait to see what this talented author will write for us next.

Our Next Chapter by Michelle Sullivan was a fantastic read about hating the one person who makes the most sense to you, and finding a way to come back from that. Following the story of Karalyn and Dez, who were elementary school sweethearts yet the secrets that Karalyn takes with her to college were enough to break them apart. When she returns home 16 years later, she didn't expect to find Dez, or find that her feelings were still strong for him, but can they get pasted the past or will her secrets be the end to their new beginning? Dez has been in love with Karalyn as long as he can remember, picturing the life they were going to build in the same small town that they grew up in. But when Karalyn moved away after graduation and doesn't talk to him, his heart is broken thinking that he was the only one in this relationship. Finding her home again after all these years, his love is still strong, but he can tell she is hiding something from him. When the secrets are out, can he still love the girl he knew or will the woman she became be too far different for him to love? Sullivan is a favorite author of mine, her writing is something that I look for by other authors but her uniqueness keeps me coming back for more. Her characters were incredibly detailed and real, the storyline takes you on an emotional rollercoaster, and the surprise twists that come always make me love her stories a little more. If you are looking to fall down the rabbit hole with a new author, one that is sure to keep you glued to your readers and flipping pages fast enough to create a breeze than this is the author for you. She is a rising star for sure!

Our Next Chapter
By Michelle Sullivan
5 stars

This is the fourth book that I have read by this author and the fourth time that I have given her book 5 stars. Michelle Sullivan is an outstanding author whose books are an absolute pleasure to read. Her characters are so deep and well thought out that I cannot help but fall in love with them straight away. She takes sensitive topics and writes about them so beautifully and with respect and compassion. Her writing style is one that has you completely captivated and invested in what is going on and I know that when I start reading one of her books I will not be able to put it down until I have finished.
Our Next Chapter was a truly beautifully written story; I definitely went on an emotional rollercoaster with this one. Karalyn and Dez – they truly were in love with each other and I could tell that as soon as I started to read about them. They definitely had some ups and downs in their relationship but even after seventeen years separated there was still that spark there – but would they be able to reignite it? There were some good twists and turns in the storyline that certainly made me want to keep turning those pages.
Our Next Chapter is a beautifully written story that I highly recommend!

Our Next Chapter- Michelle Sullivan

4-star review

“If he couldn’t find it in his heart to love me back then, I don’t want to allow him to try and love me now.”

Our Next Chapter by Michelle Sullivan is a great romance read! It’s full of heartbreaking moments but also some sweet and funny moments that had me feeling very emotional. This happily ever after had me hooked from the very start. I loved that this story was told in both main characters POV’s as it made it so much easier to connect with and understand them. There’s a lot of detail and I loved how real this story felt, it was as if I was right there with these characters, which is more than I could ask for when reading a new book.

I connected with Karalyn from the start as she was relatable, vulnerable, caring and so protective. She’s a woman who has endured lots of heartache in life, thankfully though her luck turns around and she finally gets her prince. Unlike with Karalyn, it took me a little while to warm up to Dez, however, it didn’t take too long for him to win me over as the truth was unveiled. These characters are extremely loveable!!

I can’t wait to read more about Quinn in her very own story and I would recommend this book to anyone looking for their next romance read!

Our Next Chapter by Michelle Sullivan is the story of Karalyn and Dez, two young people that thought that they would be together forever, how wrong they were. After 17 years away Karalyn is finally coming home. There she finds Dez waiting, for her. After so long apart he wants to try and make what they had as kids work again. To have a real future together the way they had once dreamed about having. Is it too late for second chances? Can young love be rekindled into something even stronger from the embers of the past? Will Karalyn let her heart guide her or walk away again? All of these questions and more are asked and answered in this tightly written romance.
I absolutely loved this book. The characters were so vividly written that I felt each and every heartbreaking moment; every joy filled moment, every laugh and tear as if I was right there with them. The plot was amazing well written and kept me turning pages at a near frantic pace to discover what happened next. I definitely have to give this fantastic novel a five star rating and am looking forward to reading more of the books written by this amazing author.

Our Next Chapter by Michelle Sullivan is a contemporary romance novel. This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I am absolutely hooked! I read it in one sitting.

Karalyn has spent 17 years hating the man she once loved. She is going back to her hometown for the first time in as many years to visit her brother. She’s not sure she’s ready but she’s going. She doesn’t however expect to see the boy she once loved.

Dez is still very much in love with Karalyn. He has been in love with her his whole life. He made a decision 17 years ago that he thought was for the best but when he sees Karalyn again, he finds out nothing is as it seemed back then.

Dez is desperate to get Karalyn to listen to him so he can explain but neither one expect the conversation to go the way it does. Is it possible for Karalyn to put the past behind her and move on? Or is there too much water under the bridge?

This book took some unexpected turns but it hooks you from the beginning and you find yourself needing to know what happens next. There is so much emotion in this book it’s hard not to relate and feel what the characters were feeling.

This book is a must read for me!

Our Next Chapter by Michelle Sullivan
4 out of 5 stars
I finished this book in one sitting. That statement right there should lend a lot of credit to this author and her writing as I rarely marathon books. I have a serious weak spot for second chance romance novels and this one hit me in the feels. Karalyn and Dez are two characters who you can easily love and their story is one that is easy to pine for. While this is a romance novel, it is not, a sappy romance novel. This is a story of second chances, heartbreak, growth and in many aspects, adaptability, as our two characters are learning to love themselves, each other again, and how to love each other as their new selves. I know that may sound confusing, but I promise, once you read this book, it will make sense. This is a new author to me and I am very impressed with the writing style. The passage of time did not make me feel as if I was waiting an eternity for something to happen and I appreciate when an author does not drag out a story just to make for pages in a book. Highly recommended.

Our Next Chapter by Michelle Sullivan is a heart-warming tale of true love. Karalyn and Dez were best friends since elementary school but in their teens that friendship developed into a deep love that his parents didn’t approve of. Parted by her mom’s job relocation, Karalyn and Dez have a painful break up with far reaching consequences, so 17 years later when she finds herself back in town and falls back into his arms, can she really forgive him?
This book was full of emotion and hope. It was a happy story that true love wins out despite the obstacles. The characters were well written and the action moved along at a good pace. The love scenes were full of the passion that Karalyn and Dez had been denied for so long. The added element of Quinn made the book far more emotive for me. Karalyn was trying hard to be selfless and think of everyone else while denying her own happiness and this is a trait many of us have as women and as mothers.
I cried, I laughed, I gasped. A great read - everything i look for in a book.

3.5 Stars-

I stumbled upon this book on Amazon and downloaded the sample as Michelle Sullivan is a new author to me. I really enjoyed the sample and ended up downloading the novel. I am glad that I did. Overall, this was a pretty good book. It tells the story of Karalyn and Dez. They became friends when they were young, and fell in love as they got older. Toward the end of high school, Karalynn ends up moving away, and they promise to keep in touch. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. Seventeen years later, they ran into each other, and still felt that connection.

I liked the main characters. I felt that they were a little immature, and did not handle things well. The most mature one was Quinn- Karalyn and Dez's sixteen year old daughter. All of the characters had extreme emotions, which came across harshly. Overall, I really enjoyed the plot, but felt that much of the story was rushed. There was a lot of telling the story, but not feeling it.

The book was well-written; there were very few errors in grammar and/or spelling. The plot was good. With some more experience, I think Michelle Sullivan shows a lot of promise and I will be watching out for more.

Our Next Chapter by Michelle Sullivan is a well written contemporary romance novel. That had me hooked from the first word all the way to the last. It was so good, I read it in one sitting. Her characters were well developed and easy to understand and connect with. Her writing flowed with ease and you turning the pages to see what was going to happen with the characters.

Karalyn and Dez were best friends. After being apart for over seventeen years, Karalyn goes home for a visit and finds Dez still there, waiting for her. She truly wanted not to like him anymore, but that seemed to be almost impossible. This must be true love. You could easily understand how the characters felt about each other. Second chances is what Our Next Chapter is about. We all deserve second chances. Will Karalyn give Dez that second chance? Our Next Chapter by Michelle Sullivan is an emotional roller coaster ride, but well worth it.

This book brought me to tears more than once! Michelle Sullivan's description of the characters and their reactions to the events in the book was absolutely brilliant. I loved the development of Karalyn and Dez's characters, I felt that they became so complex by the end of the novel and this meant that it was easy to support them as characters. I liked the mystery of what had happened on Dez's side of the story and how this was revealed was really well done. I also loved the change in perspective between Karalyn and Dez as this also helped to develop and understand their characters further. I enjoyed some of the realistic reactions of the secondary characters, for example Karalyn's brother, as it made the narrative seem more real and relatable. Overall, I thought that the writing, the development of the characters, the building of mystery and the use of realism through the secondary characters was absolutely brilliant and I would definitely recommend this book!

Our Next Chapter by Michelle Sullivan

Four Stars

The story was short with a lot of emotion packed into it. Dez and Karalyn become best friends at a young age and that friendship develops into something beautiful. But all things good seem to come to an end or do they? Karalyn was seriously hurt by Dez and his parents and it was understandable why she acted the way she did. But I also feel that she didn’t go about things the right way. His parents didn’t like her so I don’t see why she did what she did. Dez was so naive with the way he let his parents control him. Although he was a minor I some what understand. The drama was crazy the reunion even crazier. I felt so sad for the years lost between them and the moments that were missed. The author rushed the story and it felt like the important moments were too perfect. Like everything went right when in reality it shouldn’t have been. Quinn was definitely not a normal 16 year old. I did love the plot and how it all worked out.

Book Review: Our Next Chapter
Author: Michelle Sullivan
FIVE STARS
Michelle Sullivan is the author of Our Next Chapter. A second chances, young adult to adult romance.
In this story we meet Dez and Karalyn who have been best friends since childhood. Having grown up together, they did everything together. Karalyn was a year ahead of Dez in school but that didn't stop them from being together. Once they were in high school they started developing romantic feelings for each other and never wanted to be apart.
Due to a job change, Karalyn's family moved and while apart, Dez's family pushed his hand at breaking up with her.
Time passes and they are in the same place at the same time and they have to face each other again.
Has too much time passed? Have they been able to forgive each other? What will happen when secrets are revealed?
Really good book. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this. This was my first book from Michelle Sullivan and I hope not the last.

Our Next Chapter by Michelle Sullivan is a brilliant story of best friends and second chances. This is the first book I have read by this author but I am so glad that I have found her work.

The book is cantered around two best friend. They go through school together and start to fall in love with each other. Fast forward seventeen years and they no longer even speak, have gone their separate ways.
And yet when they meet again they both have to discover if the feelings they have had are still there or if they have been lost forever.

This was a really good, well written book. The author draws you into the story of the characters and sweeps you up along their journey. I wanted to know what would happen next. A brilliant start to this author, I will be looking forward to her next piece of work.

Our Next Chapter is a great story about a couple getting a second chance by Michelle Sullivan. Karalyn's story touched me in a few ways, the biggest is being a young single mother. After her heart is broken by the love of her life she goes on to live her life in San Francisco. She goes back to the town she grows up in to see her brother and her life will forever be changed, again.

Desmond has thought about Karalyn every day since the last time they spoke with one another and he has regretted that day since. He runs into Karalyn by chance and how no idea how different his life is going to be now that they have run into one another again.

There are so many things I want to discuss but they would be considered spoilers. I will say that there are several moments where you are gasping, laughing and crying. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more books by Ms. Sullivan.

Our Next Chapter by Michelle Sullivan

Our Next Chapter is a 5 Star contemporary romance about getting a second chance at a first love. I really enjoyed this book, reading it in one afternoon. The characters were well developed and the storyline was enjoyable. I found myself empathizing with the characters and feeling frustrated and mad for them. I was also bursting with happiness and love when things started to look like they were heading for a happily ever after.

This book has a little of everything. It has romance, passion, love, adoration, and all that comes with “family.” The good and the well-meaning jerk parents. I look forward to reading what’s to come next with this family. I adore stories with second chances and rekindling of the crazy sparks of past loves. I’d definitely recommend this to someone who is looking to experience all the ups and downs and roller coaster rides that come along with normal complicated everyday life.

Our Next Chapter by Michelle Sullivan is a beautiful but sad contemporary romance  story about second chances. Michelle’s writes a story that make you feel like you are a  part of it. Emotions are real and raw because of those that deemed they knew better  with secrets and lies, betrayal and hurt, threats and malice, loss and love, fears and  uncertainty.     Once I started this book I was unable to put it down until I had finished. My heart aches  for what our characters went through and it hits home for what those of us who were  young mothers and our own struggles. This story will take you on an emotional  journey and is a definite page turner. The story is well thought out and beautifully  written. These characters definitely hold a place in my heart. A job well done Michelle.

Our Next Chapter is a contemporary romance written by Michelle Sullivan. This is my favorite book of Ms Sullivan’s so far. This book was beautifully written and the emotional roller coaster had me reaching for my tissue box more than once. I love the way the characters are true to life and pull you right into the story. This book flowed from beginning to end and I couldn’t put it down until I got to the last page. Karalyn and Dez were best friends since grade school which turned into love, but first love’s don’t always last. They have miscommunication when Karalyn leaves for college and they are torn apart. What will happen when Karalyn comes back after sixteen years away? You really need to get this book and find out. You definitely won’t be disappointed. I highly recommend this book to anyone who love a good romance.

Our Next Chapter by Michelle Sullivan
4 stars

This was my first book by this author, and while I loved the storyline of an older child being involved, I found it wasn't gripping like I wanted, to me it was predictable but I still really enjoyed it.
For 17 years they hated each other. For 17 years, he had no idea. Until she returned home and he's promising the future, again.
Can these two overcome what was done to them years ago and let go of the guilt? Can they write a new chapter in their love?
I loved the characters, and would love to see a book about Cam, the older brother, and the best friend too!

Our Next Chapter follows a couple who were lovers in high school as they rediscover it 17 years later. The couple always felt they were soul mates but the odds were against them. I enjoyed following Dez and Karalyn as they began anew. The two stayed strong through very difficult times before finding each other again. I do feel the story could have had more detail with the setting. I also felt that it skipped around a lot and could have had more supporting events. I did enjoy the general outline and the characters though. There were occasional sex scenes so if you are uncomfortable with that you may pass on this novel.

Our Next Chapter by Michelle Sullivan. I have read other books by this author and I loved them, I just happened to fall even more in love with this author while reading this book!!

This was a book that was best friends and second chance love all wrapped into one amazing read. After being gone for 17 years, Karalyn returns home and finds Dez waiting for her. She tried to hate him but just couldn’t forget him. True love…. does it ever truly die? Will they be able to pick up where they left off or are some relationships meant to stay in the past?

I absolutely fell in love with this story and couple. I can not wait to read more books by this amazing author!!

Our Next chapter by Michelle Sullivan is a contemporary romance. This book is geared around the second chance, friends to lovers genres. I loved this story and it’s characters. We see the story of Karalyn and Dez. Once childhood friends turned lovers now don’t speak and haven’t seen each other in what seems like forever. The story sucks you in and doesn’t let go. All the twists and turns will have you spellbound. This is my first book by this author but won’t be my last. Her writing had a way of leaving you panting for more. Once I picked up the story I couldn’t put it down. I give this book a 5 star rating.

This was my first book from this author. It was an emotional rollercoaster. First love and heartbreak. Disappointments. The emotions felt very real and came through clearly on each page. A few times it felt as though emotional resolution came about a little too quickly. But it wasn’t unrealistic and didn’t detract from the storyline. Overall it was an enjoyable book and I look forward to reading more from this author.
