The quest of the Seven Swords has put terrible power in the hands of madmen. The Necromancer of Trojas wields the Sword of Death, and with it he has summoned a vast host of the undead. Unless Ridmark Arban can stop him, the undead horde will conquer all the realm of Owyllain. But the city of Trojas holds other secrets. And one of those secrets might kill Ridmark and destroy Owyllain...
Standing over six feet tall, USA Today bestselling author Jonathan Moeller has the piercing blue eyes of a Conan of Cimmeria, the bronze-colored hair of a Visigothic warrior-king, and the stern visage of a captain of men, none of which are useful in his career as a computer repairman, alas.
He has written the DEMONSOULED series of sword-and-sorcery novels, and continues to write THE GHOSTS sequence about assassin and spy Caina Amalas, the COMPUTER BEGINNER'S GUIDE series of computer books, and numerous other works. His books have sold over one million copies worldwide.
Another exceptional book by Moeller with some valuable lessons of both good and bad and of love found and love lost. Even friends can be gone in a blink of an eye. Hence its the cruel world for which we live in whether its true to life or in books. And Moeller shows how true that really is in this 4th book of the series. But will it make them stronger as a unit or break the apart all together? Only time will tell.
This series keeps upping the stakes, and I'm not sure I am okay with that! The action picked up from the very first page, thrusting back into the story at a fair clip. The plot didn't slow down from there, introducing new characters, and delivering some sharp shocks along the ride. The climax turned up sooner than expected, and while I will admit I was yelling at the main characters to realise something, it led to an explosive finale. The resolution made me both smile and grimace, and I can't wait to continue with this series.
This follows the short (35 pages) story Calliande’s Tale which does not have to be read to enjoy this book. This book is not stop action and adventure with large battles, lots of magic, great and interesting characters. This series covers almost all of the bases (just missing dragons😀). This is followed by the short story Ridmark’s Tale.
I thought this book was good. It was a little annoying how Morigna would give a vague warning to the characters, but they wouldn’t understand it, and she couldn’t elaborate because they were not at the right spot in time. Okay, that’s fine. But then the characters wouldn’t remember the dream or the warning afterwards, so what was the point? I assume that it was more for the benefit of the reader, but still... One thing that I enjoy about Jonathan Moeller’s books is how he puts an antagonist within an antagonist within an antagonist. It keeps the reader on their toes. And it’s always the enemy that you can’t see that you need to be worried about...
I've said this before but I am amazed at how Mr. Moeller writes as many novels as quickly as he does. I would never be able to keep the characters and/or plots straight. As always, I very much enjoyed the further adventures of Ridmark and Calliande. I only wish that I had come across them after the series was finished as I dislike waiting for the next installment. Even so, there are plenty of hints that they have not yet encountered the main adversary so there should be plenty of excitement ahead.
Dear Jonathan, you never disappoint with your stories. This is a great and wonderful story with excellent characters and imaginative plot lines interwoven into a fantastic series. I highly recommend reading this series to anyone interested in reading a great story but be sure to start with the first book in the series. Thanks for the entertainment. Once begun I could not put the book down. I am really looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
...A bit bloated, at least the first half, which would have benefited from a good edit and cut-down. However, the last half is a decent crescendo that amps things up rather nicely now and for continuation of the tale. I'm excited to jump into the next book but I sure hope the repetitive bloat has been dealt with.
Love all this authors books. Such talent! This series draws all your emotion's to the mix and never fails to disappoint. Escapism, while on the edge of your seat. Make sure you read frost born first.
Whew this book was loaded with incredible battles unlike almost any I have read. Rid ark Aruban & Calliende continue to win one fight after another suffering great losses along the way. This book had some incredible MAGIC! No one at this point in times needs to hear a review of the story line. Eventually we will get to the Frostborn, the ultimate& maybe the end of this struggle. Or could it be the new god arriving? Can’t wait to get to the next book in this truly incredible series!
I have been following the story of Ridmark Arban since Frostborn: the First Quest, and I have yet to be disappointed. I was very happy to see that his story did not end at the conclusion of Frostborn, and I will continue to follow him.
This book was a fun read and had errors throughout. I would have given it a 3.5. The story almost seemed rushed at times but, the plot and characters where well done. The story progresses with each book and I look forward to the next book.
I absolutely love these stories they are full of mystery and plenty of action. This one has shed more light on Tamlin's wife's last words and also what truly happened to his mother. Cannot wait for the next installment. Well done Jonathan for another great read.
Great follow up on the previous four novels. Tornado and his companions take on more shadowy enemies. Can't seem to put these books down read four books in four days that's how engrossed you will get
