You know how you sometimes get to read a random book, outside of your usual focus, and then end up with something totally unexpected?
OK, that was pretty much expected. But the first book in Fantasy Swapped Online series, with the similar name - Fantasy Swap Online - was one such wild card.
I expected LitRPG and got Boobs and Hotness with it as a side dish. Don't get me wrong, it was fully enjoyable! Just not what I expected.
So, considering how the series starter managed to pique my interest it was only natural for me to continue with the Pleasure Bound. One does not just keep sitting after the cliffhanger, a next episode is required.
The sequel is a marvel when it comes to expectations. However surprising the introductory book may be, this one delivers exactly what you want. There's everything in there.
Our hero is still stuck playing the female character Lacey while his avatar, Kromgorn the Barbarian, remains inaccessible. His friends are still captured and he needs to rescue them.
It does sound like a crappy situation but I'm willing to bet he's having a better time than this guy:
The awesome halfling rogue Erlix makes a repeat appearance. His dialogue is really something special and a flurry of old and new jokes will surely crack you up more than just a few times ;-)
As our evil Lich Lord continues his schemes, our brave duo needs to mess up his plans. It is all but a straight-forward plan, as expected. With a detour or two... Or five. Of which I cannot speak as the review is still rated "Everyone" ;-)
I liked Courtesan class spells. Some were very, very interesting and I couldn't wait to see them in... khm... action ;-)
All in all, around 4 stars. It's not the best book ever but does provide a lot of fun. Hehe, fun ;-) JJ's voice, although sometimes flat, fits pretty well and is a good match to the story.
The ending cliffhanger felt a bit cruel, though.
But I had the next book already lined up and was ready! A-ha! More tits'n'ass! I mean, fantasy LitRPG!

Fantasy Swap Online got me intrigued what will happen next , so I jumped into the sequel immediately. While I expected that it will get better with time, this series seems to get a bit... pale? stale? all-the-same?
Oh, if you are in it for the sex, then definitely the stakes are up with more different kinds of creatures and numbers of participants, but the plot didn't advance.
Right now I am only reading it for Erlix's jokes.
Warning - cliffhanger at the end.

Endlessly fascinating topic of getting into the other gender's stockings... err, shoes.
This series is probably 3 stars for me because I really, really don't like the lit rpg element the way it's executed here, which is pages of gaming stats, something I don't study in-depth even while I'm, in fact, playing rpg's. But I realize there might be readers who read exactly because of this, so I don't want to give wrong impression. Outside of stats pages, it's quality read and I had great fun.

“Pleasure Bound” continues the tale of Lacey the Courtesan. Lacey, aka Kromgorn the Barbarian who is trapped in the female character Lacey due to a server hack orchestrated by the dastardly Lich-Lord, Beardemin. The story chronicles Lacey’s rise in power to help her trapped friends, along with her sexual escapades. The progression of Lacey’s Courtesan-Mesmer class is quite amazing. Considering my history of gaming and online MMORPG experience I found myself recollecting my old online game days, while quite immersed in the story. I also must admit I haven’t laughed so much in quite some time. The banter and many of the situations with the halfling Erlix were just too funny. Obviously, I enjoyed this second volume of the series, and I look forward to the third. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

They are still in the game and all his friends have been taken and he needs to rescue them. He is a woman in this game and he is unsure what he will need to do. Can he do what he needs to do to save his friends? He may need to do things he never expected to do. See if he can save them

Author knows how to spin a story together, albeit one with occasionally loose weaves.
Smooth continuation into the beast part of the story, author knows how to make RPG elements interesting and includes interesting bits of plot.
Short story, didn’t really feel like the characters did much at all by the end of the story.

Entertaining, but a bit crass #2...... 3 stars
In an Virtual Reality MMORPG Kromgorn a macho-man Barbarian player gets stuck in the game as the 'joke character' Lacey. A courtesan character with the sole purpose of interacting with the in-game 'Pleasure System'. Now Kromgorn as Lacey must Level-Up/ Sex hi/her way up in the game and defeat the evil Lich-Lord who hacked the game or he/She wil be stuck in the game forever.
In essence this is much the same as the first novel. The plots fit seamlessly and are much thesame in both tone and structure.... Lots of sex, game-lit and off-color humour.
If you liked the first novel, chances are you wil like this one two.
