Innocence is fragile. I learned from an early age that monsters are real. They don’t lurk beneath the bed, instead, they hide in plain sight. I spent two years in hell. Then I ran. I escaped the monster to find two princes. They eased my pain, healed my wounds, and stole my heart. Although, monsters never die quite that easy. No. Mine returned to haunt me the moment I felt safe. And that’s when the fairytale ended. Can I save what little of myself I have left? Or will the monster take that too?
This is a dark ménage romance which has scenes that may upset some readers. Includes MMF and MFM scene. Due to scenes of an adult nature, this book is for 18+ ONLY.

Wow! Wow! Wow! Dani Rene’ definitely did not disappoint with Fragile Innocence! This is a dark ménage romance that is not for the faint of heart, but Dani writes it so beautifully that my heart attached, and I could not tear myself away. I can not wait to read more of what’s to come from her!
When I saw the gorgeous cover and then the blurb of Fragile Innocence, I knew I had to read it... now, it's difficult to put my thoughts together, because I have two different impressions between the first 55% and the last 45% of the story.
Ella is running from her past. Successful at her job, she freshly loved to London. There, she meets her new boss, Bennett and Carter, her boss best friends, and her new client.
Between the three of them, the chemistry is immediate, the lust at first sight. Caught in their web, she has no other choice than succumbing to the advances of these two hot alphas. Caring, protective, attentive, they soon discover that behind that tough woman hide vulnerability and secrets.
If I had to only rate the first part of this story, I think I would give 2 stars. There wasn't much development, the vibe I got was more that of erotica than dark romance. The author used sentences that felt very cliché, the kind I have read a lot already. Way too much in fact. The sex scenes were hot, but nothing surprising of daring.
And then started the second part, revealing another writing style, more suspenseful, paced, with action, emotions and what I had been lacking from the beginning, a true connection. As the secrets unravel, the darkness predominates, gritty, edgy, delivering the promises of the Dark Ménage Romance. Too bad it happened a little too late in the story.
I VOLUNTARILY REVIEWED AN ARC COPY OF THIS BOOK. THANK YOU!!!
Here we have another case of insta-lust-love... And characters who think about sex 98% of the time...
Não me convenceu nadinha!
I’m speechless. I sat and read half of this last night and as soon as I could this morning I finished reading it.
Ella’s running from her past. She needs to so run to keep herself safe. Moving to London she hopes for a fresh start and I can’t help but giggle at knowing what’s ahead for her (mostly good). Carter and Bennett have been friends since school. They are very very close. When Ella catches Carters eye and then Bennett’s they know they have to have her. But is she too broken and has she really escaped from the past.
This storyline is brilliant. It’s in no way predictable and parts had me gasping. The sexy scenes are oh so hot.
If you like dark ménage reads then I highly recommend you read this one. It’s oh so good.
I was given an advanced readers copy of this book and have decided to leave a voluntary review. First I have to say this book was one of the best menage books I have ever read. It's that good, it's that dark and it's that hot! From the very start I wanted Carter with Ella there connection was so strong and the pull as well. I also loved the friendship between Carter and Bennett it's strong and unbreakable. Ella was broken yes. When you go through certain trumas you not the same some can even break you Ella is strong though that's what I loved about her the most.
Ella's past was bizarre and dreadful. She is on the run from her monster and hopes he will never find her. She meets Carter and Bennett and feels that maybe, just maybe, she can find happiness. Fragile Innocence was memorable story about devastation, redemption, and hope.
Two hot, super sexy, mega rich guys and one strong beautiful woman who remains resilient despite the very worst of abuse in her younger life... I was completely absorbed by this book..
I make no apologies when I say that I love books with menage relationships...why stick with one when two, or even more, can be so much more fun.... The main characters take turns to provide their perspective and the fact that both men are clearly enamored with the heroine right from the start makes the story and the developing relationship so much more engaging...
The story has some very dark moments...the heroine suffered at the hands of an abuser when she was young, and she is forced to constantly look over her shoulder for fear of her past catching up with her present...the author skillfully creates enough threat and suspense to keep the reader on edge, but at the same time there are some funny and ‘steamy’ moments that provide light relief....
The book is filled with fascinating and dysfunctional characters..some are evil personified but mostly they are broken and damaged souls who have suffered at the hands of those who should love and protect them the most....
The threesome are perfectly matched and the love between them all feels real, but as their walls come down, their worlds collide and a fairytale ending is in the balance...a bittersweet, dark and stormy 5 star romance....
Dani Rene writes some really interesting stories with some dark themes, a lot of hot sex, and strong romances. Fragile Innocence is no different. To top it off, it's a menage story with MMF and MFM in it. In other words, Fragile Innocence has a little bit of something for everyone.
Ella has run away and is hiding. She figures as long as she can stay two steps ahead of the monster in her past, she's going to be OK. She's changed her eye color, she's changed her hair color, and she never stays in one place very long. Now, she's moved thousands of miles away, and she figures her monster can never find her now.
Bennet and Carter are best friends. Carter sees Ella at the airport and has to have her. He tracks her down and finds out that she's working for Bennet. Together, the two of them make plans for her. They've shared women before and they know that together, they should have no problem getting Ella in bed and in between them. The problem is that it's never that easy.
Dani Rene really is a genius. She writes stories that keep you guessing and keep you hot under the collar at the same time. Her heroes and heroines may be broken and fragile at any one point, but they are still strong and manage to get through everything that happens. That has to be a really hard line to walk, but Dani manages it every time. I know that I can count on her for a good story and I always look forward to reading what comes next.
"I used to love the dark, when everything is calm and quiet, but now it brings my nightmares." When the reader gets further along in the pages we see just how torturous the night becomes for Ella... The is definitely an more intense novel, than anything I've read previous by this author. I'm surprised but how easy this grabs the readers attention even though at times it's so dark the reader wants to look away. My heart broke over and over again for Ella. She can take a beating that's for sure. Carter and Bennett have their work cut out for them with this girl but it's like an instant connection makes them stronger. Be prepared to have your heart broken over and over.
"I received the ARC in exchange for a honest review.
I’m just gonna say WOW! This literally took my breath away. It was a short, quick read but I was holding my breath all the way through. I was completely taken by Ella’s story and Carter and Bennett are two great heroes. When I found out there’s more to come in December, I was shouting for joy. I honestly can’t wait to read more of Ella’s journey with Carter and Bennett! "
Dark and intense is a good way to describe this book. Tho you have some classic Dani in here, this one is a lot different to me. One, we get a menage!!! This is kinda a first for Dani! And oh how I love Ella, Carter and Bennett! Ella comes from a dark past, very very very dark!!! And Carter and Bennett come from a place where they always get what they want. I love that Dani pushed boundaries with this one. It's dark. It's intense. And it's REALLY good. Dani's writing always has a way of making me love things that I probably shouldn't. And that's one of the things I love about Dani's books. Her intense scenes. Her dirty words. Yeah I can't wait to see what she does next!!
I received an ARC of this novel from the author and I voluntarily reviewed it. Thank you Dani René!
This book was a hot tamale. So incredibly sexy; raw and carnal. René’s writing is simply so vivid and colourful. She paints a detailed picture for her readers. She sets the scene perfectly, positions her characters, like a true artist.
Underneath all that sexiness, is a dark and heart wrenching story. One that after three read throughs, still breaks my heart; still makes my stomach drop. Ella is a complex female lead, whom I love. She is unbelievably strong, yet is inherently human and has some sudden lapses in strength, when her world comes tumbling down. I believe that when she is at her most vulnerable, is when René’s writing prevails, and when Ella truly comes to life.
One thing that ruffles my feathers slightly, is how fast all three people fall for each other; It’s almost instantaneous and I’m not a fan of insta-love. I also feel like the intense parts at the end should have been more drawn out. The resolution came too fast to my liking.
I never know how I’ll feel about a ménage book, but with René’s skillful writing, I knew I would be in good hands. The love between the three characters radiates off the page. The best quote to summarize the book is : “Three heart. Three bodies. One soul.” A cohesive story, packed with emotion. A winning combination.
Fragile Innocence is not for the fragile hearted, but past the darkness sits a beautiful story.
This is my first Dani René book and I knew from the description that this story was going to be dark. But this story is so much more.
It's dark, emotional, disturbing, sad, hopeful, and finally loving. So much goes on with these three characters and they are all flawed, but that is why you fall in love them. And why they fall in love with each other.
This story is so real that it takes your breath away. And it is true. Every person that goes through a tragedy like this and comes out at the end is STRONG.
This is a must-read book. #oneclick! I voluntarily read an advance reader copy for my honest review.
Wow! Ella's story is heartbreaking. NO ONE should ever have to endure what she did. Carter and Bennett are two men who just sleep with women, they couldn't possibly fall in love. Ella is so broken, she hasn't let anyone in, she can't. This is by far my favorite book of 2018. I laughed, cried and got frustrated. And I didn't want it to end. I'm so lucky I had a chance to read this story. It's one I would definitely recommend. Thank you
I’m as shaken up as a snow globe could be reading this story. Fair warning that this is a dark read filled with delicious MFM and even some MMF delights that were off the charts smoking. Ella has been given a horrific past that she fights through daily with the memories that will never leave. When she comes the interest of best friends Carter and Bennett truths are revealed and we’re taken through a dark emotional past filled with a sexually charged present intertwined. Throughout this book I’ve gone from turned on to tears and nail biting moments, I couldn’t read fast enough to see what was going to happen. There are moments where I want to call dibs on Carter then I switch to Bennett I just can’t make up my mind and in the end I think I’ll just have them both. Phenomenal edge of your seat story that is a must read! This is my unbiased and voluntary review.
I was lucky enough to read a rough draft of Fragile Innocence way before it was called that and way before it went through all the changes. It was great then, but now Dani took it and polished it into something even greater! She spun these words into something dark torturous, but desirable
This story of hers has stuck with me since way back then & for a book to do that it months later is perfection. In the story we meet 3 characters Ella, Carter & Bennett. Ella background is sad, horrendous and heartbreaking she’s on the run from her past and never looking back at the monsters who haunt her! Carter & Bennett best friends till the end there isn’t anything or anyone they won’t share, That is until Ella walks into their life. The secrets, The lies, The sex OMG!!! *Did you think I’d tell you what happens GET THE BOOK!!!
What I will say is just when you think you know where Dani is going with the storyline BAM!!! She goes in the total opposite direction *typical Dani always pulling a fast one such a TEASE!
I was given an ARC in exchange of an honest review.
**Contains some hwat MFM and MMF action, so if you are not into it, this book might not be for you (but will still highly recommend this book to the reading adventurers out there)
Move over Disney's one Prince Wonder, because Carter and Bennet proves that two Princes are better than one.
Dani weaves a tale of Ella, a girl broken and betrayed by her past and running from monsters hunting her. This story is incredibly haunting at its core, and will break your heart and make it bleed for this sweet girl and all she endures. With Carter and Bennet, Ella is finally able shine and be the incredible woman she is. The love between these three truly shines through the pages. And in her true Dani fashion, she has written a book that is packed with intrigue, mystery and disturbing darkness of human nature, along with some incredibly steamy scenes that even after the story ends will continue to stay with you.
One of my favorite genres is menage, and this book didn’t disappoint! It’s the story of Ella, a beautiful, guarded woman with a very dark past. She doesn’t believe in relationships until Carter and Bennett come along. They are best friends with a lot in common. When they meet Ella, they are entranced. Can they change her ways? There are many twists and turns in this book and it keeps you guessing throughout. This author has a way of making you feel as if you personally know these characters with how descriptive she is. Do they all end up together? You will need to read this book in order to find out! Totally loved this book!
Did I like this book? No I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! Ella the beautiful beautiful girl broke my heart. She didn’t deserve the monster that was bestowed upon her. But she’s done good for herself, put the monster in the back of her mind instead of front and center and as studied and found her way in a career she loves and is excellent at. Carter and Bennett are princes who are alpha dominant and protective. A lot of females would swoon for one of them. I being one of them! Carter with his gorgeous blue eyes and Bennett with beautiful green ones omg! Having just one would be a a dream come true. But having both, yep that is fantasy come to life! I loved that Ella started feeling safe in her new environment and with the two princes. But once again her fragile glued together life is about to be upheavaled and broken into bits and pieces when the monster wants center stage. Fragile Innocence isn’t just a ménage story. Oh no it’s so much more. It has layers to it that the author slowly starts to peel away as the reader gets farther and farther into this intriguing very captivating gripping plot. It’s explosive scorching hotness. But it’s also heartbreaking and gut wrenching. As in true style to this brilliant author there is a hair raising heart stopping twist I GUARANTEE you won’t see coming that had me biting my nails and and wondering what this development will lead to. This story is dark and painful. But it’s also “a light at the end of the tunnel” when real love enters and fills the darkness with rays of sunshine. I’m an avid reader. There’s very few books that have stayed and lingered with me and had me coming back and thinking about the story and characters. Fragile Innocence is now among those books. This one embodies good and evil, darkness and light and mixes it so well. It also has characters that I wanted to hug and others I wouldn’t mind seeing burned at the stake. Ms. René is the epitome of what I love and appreciate in authors. Her writing is impeccable and her stories are an adventure. Everything is done brilliantly it’s like I’m watching a movie in my mind not reading a book.
Oh, how I’ve been dying to get my hands on FRAGILE INNOCENCE by Dani René! It’s so different than her previous works, yet it is so distinctly her it’s uncanny. And her books bring the heat! This one here is pure raw carnality. Wowza! And, seriously, you can never go wrong with some hot M/M action – yum!
But sexiness aside, this story is dark, intense and emotionally challenging. I cannot even begin to describe how uncomfortable certain very explicit, extreme detailed scenes made me. It’s not for the faint of heart – and, please, if you have triggers of any kind, but especially those that contain abuse, please do not read this book. It’s painful. Soul-crunching. Evil. There’s no way to sugarcoat it. In this case, Ms. René’s vivid writing is as much a blessing as it is a curse.
Ella’s past is nothing but pain. To finally leave everything behind, she moves to London, where she meets this mysterious stranger, right at the airport. Life like she knew it will never be the same again as she slowly begins to learn that she is not as broken as she thought…
The dynamic between Ella, Carter and Bennett was nothing if not explosive. It radiates off the pages, from the get-go and just gets stronger with every additional sentence. And Carter and Bennett? Best friends, deliciously strong alpha men with their own chemistry to boot. Did I say yum already??
Why not all five stars though? The love for all three of them was much too instantaneous for me, especially broken and burned Ella falling and trusting these two so insanely quickly. In general, I would have liked a bit more information on Carter and Bennett’s backgrounds respectively – and even their history together. Everything felt rather rushed to me, and I have some questions still swirling in my mind even after I finished reading. Oh, and I’m greedy, but I would have loved some more man on man action, cough cough.
Apart from all that, this is one solid incredibly sexy story packed with suspense that is sooo worth the read! I’m looking forward to Ms. René’s next book!!
One thing that is synonymous with a Dani Rene read is HEAT. When I pick up a story by Dani I know that I am going to get absorbed into a story line without hope of ever being able to put it down and that I will likely blush a time or two.
Fragile Innocence did not disappoint one bit!
Pulled right in to the story of Ella, I got sucked in when the mysterious stranger appeared and from there it was all over. Nothing else was getting done. Then Bennett was added to this mix.
The dynamic between Ella, Carter and Bennett flowed pretty easily. As soon as Ella was able to get over the whole ménage situation you were really able to see the development of their feelings and relationship.
This was actually the first time I have ever read a ménage where there is interaction between the two male characters. In my head it's not my favorite scenario...and that is because I am a selfish girl...I want it to be all about the woman in the stories I read. What I was expecting and the reality of what happened between Carter and Bennett really wasn't too bad for a MMF ménage virgin.
So I really did love this story...then why did I only give it 4 stars? The ending for me felt rushed. That is really it. I personally wanted a little more details in the ending portion and it just seemed like it just needed to be wrapped up. I don't know. It was the end that fizzled it for me.
This author still gets all my one-clicks because I have always loved her work and I don't foresee that changing any time soon.
I gave Fragile Innocence 4 stars Review by Corrie H for Lamplight Review and Promotion **I received an ARC for an honest review.
This author always delivers hot Alpha Males and Strong Willed ladies and this time was no different. Well maybe a tiny bit different because not only does Ella have a hot Alpha this lucky lady scores herself TWO.
This amazing story touched me from start to finish. Told by the 3 main characters, Ella, Carter and Bennett we find out they all have their own crosses to bare. Ella has a tortured past she's constantly running from. Carter was a wild young rebel who didn't want to be a new model of his father and Bennett isn't proud of the things he's done or what he came from. Each of them will bury themselves in your heart and stay there. And pretty quickly the guys to exactly that to Ella.
She never thought she could be loved or desired, she was broken, but when she finds herself with a new job on the other side of the world Ella finds out differently. Carter has his sights set on Ella from first glance and won't stop til she's his. Well that is until his best friend Bennett sets eyes on her.
This scorching tale of 3 lost souls becoming one, with some dark and winding twists will have you turning the pages so fast to find out what happens next your kindle may catch fire and if that doesn't do it then the blazing hot MFM and MMF scenes certainly will.
Ella was young when her Father died and a year later her Mother remarried Charles. She didn’t mind because he seemed to make her Mother happy and he was nice to her. Everything changed when Ella turned 16 and suddenly she was thrust into her worst nightmare. For two years Charles did unspeakable things to Ella and her Mother who was supposed to protect her was usually passed out drunk. When she turned 18 she ran away and spent two years on the run so Charles couldn’t find her. She’s now 24 years old and she’s finally settling in London which is on the other side of the world from where she grew up. She’s about to start a job at Ainsworth International, a real estate empire owned and operated by Bennett Ainsworth. Carter Hamilton is in the process of taking over the family company from his Father, they own a chain of boutique hotels. Bennett Ainsworth started Ainsworth International on his own because he didn’t want anything from his Father. Carter and Bennett have known each other since they were teenagers and they’ve often shared women in the past. Ella sees Carter across the airport and she’s surprised by her reaction to him because usually men don’t entice her sexually. Carter had his driver follow Ella’s taxi and was happy when she was dropped off at a building owned by Bennett so he could easily find out who she was. Ella is again surprised when she meets her new boss Bennett and again finds herself attracted to a man. Carter is looking to buy property to build his new hotel and Bennett sets it up so that Ella is the one showing him. Ella is confused by her attraction to not one but two gorgeous men who both want her. Can these two beautiful men heal Ella’s broken soul ?
3.6 Burning Hearts I enjoyed the premises of this story The plotline is well developed and engaging - The romance and suspense blended smoothly though there where areas I truly wished for more with regards to the characters and back scenes- but that is me.. I am greedy that way I savored the relationship between Ella and Carter and Bennett- their relationship was delicate and sensually built- I do wish there was a bit more detail with regards to Carter and Bennett (you have to read it I am not telling) Overall it was a very intense and emotional story The characters were detailed and progressive - I especially enjoyed Carter There were some pieces of the puzzle that were missing and left me with too many questions, and certain scenes felt rushed which is why I dropped a star I read a complimentary copy
Well. I wanted something dark to read and I got it. I liked the way it was written. I often found myself stoping to think "that was nicely said", or "I love the way it's phrased". It term of storytelling and the writing style it was great. But I straggled to believe in what I was reading. In my opinion, the book should've been longer in order to fully unravel the characters and to form that depth of trust between them. I've spent the whole time scrambling to try and keep up with the pacing and what was going on. The whole story happened in the span of a week or something (minus the epilogue and such) and that's not nearly enough time for me to believe in their connection.
So, great idea for the story, loved the writing, but did not believe the feelings.
So I really wanted to like this but I just couldn't. I know I'm in the minority, but there was a lot of tell not show and I genuinely did not care about any of the characters. The connections felt artificial and I really just didn't buy into it at all.
*minor spoilers ahead*
They went from 'I like to have sex with women and I really want to have sex with this particular women' to 'I'm in love and she is the one' in literally like 2 days, they had not spent more than a few hours together and suddenly the h is healed and ready to take 2 guys at once, when she hasn't had sex in years and was scared to because it brought on all these horrible memories. Just really fake, they could have known each other for longer than a weekend. She is definitely the kind of h where instalove does not seem likely, I can do instalove but it has to be done right you know, only certain types of people can sell it to me, but they had no connection at all and then it was love. And it really didn't give off very dark vibes, there was some disturbing scenes but for the most part the story itself wasn't really that dark. I'm majorly disappointed and DNF at 62%, so because I generally only rate stories I finish I'm refraining from giving this the one star I want to. I also know I am in the minority and this might really appeal to a decent amount of people.
This may be a dark book but is does pack some MFM and MMF :). At the beginning you see how Ella has had to deal with a horrible past leaving her with awful memories. And you just want to help her and tell her everything will turn out great for her. Then you get to know the best friends Carter and Bennett. Those 2 hot alpha males are romantic, sexy, strong and very protective. It was hard to pick your favourite so I'm afraid I'll have to just have both ;). I loved this book, and couldn't wait to see how it ended. This story never disappointed and was full of sadness, sex, nail biting and love. An awesome read and you should definately give it ago!!
