Get contaminated by one of the magicals, and you’re screwed. Scratched by a werewolf? You’re going to be howling come full moon. Bitten by a vampire? No Man’s Land ~ Debra Dunbar Kelly is left for dead, a horribly injured vampire dumped in hostile territory. Her only hope for survival is a kindly werewolf who is more than she seems.
Magic in the Blood ~ Kat Parrish When the shadow of dark magic falls on the small border town where she lives, Aixa Riley—the latest in a long line of “red witches”—summons her own powers to protect those she loves from the forces set in motion by the alliance of a dangerous sorceress and an ambitious drug lord.
C. Gockel got her start writing fanfiction, and she is not ashamed! Much. She received emails, messages and reviews from her fans telling her she should 'do this professionally'. She didn't; because she is a coward and life as a digital designer, copywriter and coder is more dependable. But in the end, her husband's nagging wore her down: "You could be the next '50 Shades of Gray' and I could retire!" Unfortunately, the author isn't much for writing smut. She is sad about this; she'd love for her husband to be able to retire and just work for her so she could nag him.
At the moment, Ms. Gockel is working on the next installment of her Archangel Project series.

There is a thrilling collection of stories in this anthology but I particularly liked Wicked Grove by Alexia Purdy. A town with hidden supernaturals, sibling hunters, corruption, a fae kidnapper, love, danger, deception and exciting twists makes this story stand out. I loved the relationships, strong characters, and the unpredictability of this fast paced story, and I can’t wait to read more in this world.
I thought this was a pretty good box set filled with some pretty great authors. I definitely give it a thumbs up! My favorite books from the set were No Man's Land by Debra Dunbar, Flame and Form by Jenna Elizabeth Johnson, and Elfhame by Anthea Sharp.
No Man's Land While I did enjoy the book, as it added more background to the characters we've seen in the Imp series, I felt it was a bit slow paced. The beginning started out excellently, it was very attention grabbing. Then as Kelly lived among werewolf territory, she had a lot of internal struggles going on. Throughout the book until about a third of the way through, I didn't think she made too much progress. It was enjoyable in certain parts, and while the potential of romance was there, by the end of the book I was a bit disappointed that Kelly and Jaq's romance wasn't fully embraced, it was only hinted at. Overall, I'd recommend reading if you've read the Imp series and know who Kelly the vampire is. I did like the book, just not as much as I've enjoyed others by Debra Dunbar.
Elfhame I really liked the story, the world of Elfhame, and the characters that were brought to life. The only thing I didn't like is that I felt it ended abruptly. It was well written and interesting enough that I ended up reading it all in a few hours. All in all, a pretty good book.
Flame and Form (Draghans of Firiehn) I really enjoyed this book. Loved the characters, and loved the story. The only thing I didn't like was that the story started and ended in Eile, and I really wanted to know more about Faelorehn and what eventually happened in Astorelle!
This collection contains some of my favorite authors, notably Jenna Elizabeth Johnson, Alexia Purdy and Anthea Sharp. I love meeting new authors and so am delighted by the opportunity to sample the works of the others. Wicked Grove - Alexia Purdy Wicked Grove is a well-written and wonderful introduction to the story that pits three siblings, known as The Triplets, against the faerie king Azariah, who needs to take Amy in order to restore his tribe, and their own organization, the Wicked Grove Supernatural Regulatory Agency, which is fraught with corruption. Hearts are broken, uncomfortable truths revealed and life altering decisions made as Amy, Jay and Craig find themselves facing an uncertain future with the only constant being their love for one another and the conviction that they must ally themselves with old enemies in order to set things right again. Strong characters, great writing and editing, and fast paced action makes this book an easy read, and the story is compelling and engaging.
I will update this review as I read more of the stories. I received a complimentary copy.
I really enjoyed this set. Like with a lot of sets there are some books I can't get Into but this set was different and I loved the stories. Hope to read more from these authors.
It is mighty hard to turn down the chance to read about a varied collection of beings written by some of today's top authors. You will want to savor the stories as you find yourself racing to turn pages as you are pulled along by the intense action. Every kitten has claws but even demons can have their good sides. I am still reading but have had a wonderful time so far with those stories I've completed. Have fun!
And descriptive sensuality you won't like most of the stories. I did very much enjoy Wicked Grove by Alexis Purdy, Elfhame by Anthea Sharp. To Kate Danley all I can say is I'm sure Shakespeare is duly honored. You did him proud.
I enjoyed reading this set of books. They all include magic in one way or another, and some are darker than expected. I'd recommend this set to readers looking to discover new magical and fantasy based books.
There were some good stories here and a couple I just couldn't get into. The last one in the set contains some really graphic instances of the main character being raped and that just completely shut down that story for me.

I enjoyed the story line and the book held my interest. I was a little concerned with spelling and grammar errors. This is why I didn’t give it five stars.
