The Global Finance Crisis Just Became Personal. When Andrea Whitman starts auditing the books of Castle Home Loans, she finds herself between its founder and the four hundred million dollars he expects to make when the Castle is listed on the stock exchange. Andrea discovers the Castle is about to explode - taking home owners, investors and employees with it - but no one will listen to her. Kyle and his ex wife will stop at nothing to get what they want - and Andrea must choose between keeping her career, her man and her home or telling the truth. With the help of Vincent, the data guru, she just might have a chance. But can she trust him and can she trust herself around him?
Andrea and Simon are partners in Validation Services, a company which audits, valuates and investigates the books for different companies....and they have been asked to audit Castle Home Loans for the float which is coming up soon, brought about by the divorce of Kyle and Alannah, the founders of Castle.
Andrea and Simon have been together just over a year, both in the company partnership and as a couple, but as things move through the audit, Andrea finds herself with deep suspicions of Castle, and where and how they get their money. The Mum and Dad investors who have bought into Castle seem to be at risk here, and Andrea needs to dig deeper, much deeper.
But Simon seems to have eyes only for Alannah, and keeps telling Andrea to just sign the audit off, and move on with life. Kyle is expecting to make millions when Castle Home Loans is listed with the stock exchange, and it seems that Andrea is the only one that can see the potential disaster waiting to happen in the wings, taking the employees of Castle, home owners and investors with it!
She enlists the help of Vincent, who seems to know a lot about the data behind the scenes, and keeps pushing to bring Kyle and Alannah down. But she risks losing everything, her career, her home, her love life (such as it is!) in her efforts to stop Kyle hurting the people who trust him.
Even her best friend, Lulu and her husband Malcolm, have turned against her...who can she trust? Is Vincent on her side, or does he work for Kyle? She feels so dispirited, so tired, so ‘over it’, but she must get the truth out there!
I was a little put off and disappointed by the grammatical errors throughout the story, but feel a good editor would fix the problem.
