Ghost Wolf

Rate this book
Hi, my name is Trevor. I’m a wolf shifter.

I say that like I know what I’m talking about. I don’t. I was simply running off a ton of steam one day when I was around eleven and bam! Okay, not quite that easy or fast but it happened when I was young and stupid. I’m also gay. I say that like I know what I’m talking about with that too. I simply don’t.

I’m grown up now and living in the big city which has me too busy to much care about either one of those things. I get out and run my wolf when I can, trying like hell to stay out of the local pack’s territories. Belonging to a “family” just sounds like too much work, and honestly I don’t have time for such things. Besides, I was told when I was young the color of my wolf was all wrong. Too silver...or something. Metallic. I kinda thought it looked cool in the full moon. “Pack Alpha would kill ya soon as look at ya.” My grandpa used to say. Course he wasn't my real grandpa. Just an old man who lived down the street, but he was a shifter too and I thought he knew it all. He probably knew diddly either, but a guy can’t be too careful. And romance? Way off the radar.

Only now someone has started killing wolves. Started leaving broken bodies lined up in a nice little row next to the high school in my home town and it's got me to thinking. If a shifter is killed in his or her wolf state, do they stay that way? Were these dead wolves like me? The hell of it all is this: being a shifter isn't common knowledge. It bothers me enough that now I want to find out more. See if there's anything I can do. Kind of like a super hero.

Oh yeah. Probably forgot to tell you this too. I can turn invisible.

Yep, Ghost Wolf to the rescue.

Hi, my name is Hurri Cosmo and I am a happy ending junkie. I always have been. You can be pretty rest assured everything I write will have one. I am not big on angst. I believe we get enough of that in real life so when I go to read something, to make the real world go away for awhile, I will most likely not chose something that will make me cry. So I write for those people who, at least occasionally, feel the same way. I’m okay with the fact I will probably never write anything “important” but I guess I will have to see where my imagination takes me. I would love it if you would come along.

DNF 60%

I AM DONE WITH THIS BOOK!! It’s so freaking juvenile I can’t even...

——————————————————————————————————————————
1.5 round up (for that cover)

I don’t even know how to write an eloquent review for this. I mostly wanna spend my time tearing into it about all the thing that went wrong, but that’s mostly not my style. I did DNF this book around the 60%, I was mostly holding out for it to get better. For the writing to get better, for the characters to get better for the overall plot to get better but it never clicked for me. Everything felt contrived, juvenile and not well executed. It was a problematic formula with a problematic and immature MC. His voice from the very beginning ruined my enjoyment of the story.

Trevor shifted into a wolf for the first time at eleven, which both surprised and terrified him. He knew he was something else but he had no one in his life to tell him what he was and why it’s happening. A chance encounter with another wolf proved that there were more like him but apart from the old man telling him crazy things he still had no clue about who he was. When his mentor dies and leaves him a ring- “one ring to rule them all”, I kid, wrong book. He leaves him a ring that makes him invisible with no actual instructions as to what it another ring is really for.

So Trevor has got this power, is a wolf shifter, and proceeds to go into adulthood as complete idiot. I don’t know what was wrong with this kid, but everything he did and said irked me. He was so wishy washy with an amazing ability but fumbled about like a baby animal learning to walk. He meets Ryan (his fated mate) and everything just got worse.

Thing I like: (the sounds of crickets in the night). I love the cover 🤷🏽‍♀️ like I really freaking do!!

Things I didn’t like: Do I got enough page room for this? I didn’t like the story, I didn’t like the writing. I don’t think anything was executed well and it was taking too damn long to get to the point.

The book is too long for no reason and with nothing to carry it, it was hella boring. I wasn’t there for any of it.

Overall, I am very disappointed. I wanted to give a new author a chance and I feel bad that it didn’t work for me. The idea behind it could have made a great story but it didn’t come together well. Ah, such is life you win some you lose some.

SideNote - Every-time I looked up at the title on kindle it said GostWolf (like legit GostWolf) and not Ghost Wolf. I don’t even know…is it one word or two???

A beautiful and fantastic book i absolutely loved this one. Trevor and Ryan's story is never boring as alot happens. Twist and turns as plots go and hot romance. I tottally recommend this and could write more in this review but it would be spoilers.  This definitely has its funny moments as Trevor finds himself invisible..
Trevor was 11 years learning about his wolf abilities from his neighbour aka Grandpa. Shifting for the first time he was free but the rules he had to follow scared the beejeasus out of him.
Now grown and attending collage and a part time job Trevor was doing fine. A night out at the Silver Moon club he needed.
Ryan had saved Trevor in situation from the bartender. Tentions were high and Trevor suspected they were shifters.
Trevor has two alphas wanting him, Ryan says there a fated pair while Keith wants him also and challenged Ryan for him.
Alpha Ryan has another missing person from the club and finding innocent wolves killed.
There's so much in this book but highly recommend this.

Spoiler alert:
Note this is an mpreg story.

Once upon a time, there was a ginger who thought shifter books were odd and icky. Then one day, the ginger picked up a shifter book and fell in love with the dynamics and fell head over feet for the fated mate trope. This book, it has fated mates and a whole lot more that made the ginger ridiculously happy.

Okay, now that I am done talking about myself in creepy third person, I LOVED THIS BOOK!

The blurb is amazing and had me wanting to read it immediately. A dude who is a shifter but doesn’t know much about his shifting but shifted at 11 and there are people killing wolves… say what? I had to know it all and opening the book and getting Trevor’s POV has me sucked in immediately.

I liked that we get to know a young 11 year old Trevor Taland and how he handled his first shift, not knowing that he was a shifter and all the questions he had with no one to ask them to. Then he meets the wolf/old man who becomes his “Grandpa” and the stories and warnings he gives Trevor are ominous. But when he loses his Grandpa and gets the gift the old man leaves for him, Trevor gets something almost as amazing as shifting into a wolf, Trevor learns he can become invisible.

We don’t dally in Trevor’s youth but take what we learned and are now with him as an adult, enrolled in college and working as much as he can to pay the bills. He still shifts and gets his run on when he can and a night out with friends to unwind is ordered so Trevor can relax for a few. Too bad there is one hell of a sexy man who catches Trevor’s eye and scent at the club who is also an Alpha of a local pack and needs to have a few words with Trevor about the way he leaves his presence in open spaces.

I adored Ryan so, so, so much. Seeing him simply as a hot dude at the club then getting him confronting Trevor for quite literally peeing all over what’s his was fun but when Ryan realizes that Trevor is his fated mate, I was a goner. I have to say there are certain books and certain shifters that hold the bar for me when it comes to Alphas and how they act. One who is quite frankly at the top is Logan Church from Mary Calmes’ Change of Heart series and let me just say, Ryan Jarfang echoes Logan in many ways. The way he treats his pack, the way he treats his family, the way he even treats the woman he will leave for his fated mate, he is respectful and just in his actions. But the way he treats Trevor from the second he scents and feels that Trevor is his fated mate is what did me in. You see, Ryan isn’t gay nor is his bisexual but labels don’t matter when it comes to mates. The fates have chosen Trevor for Ryan and that’s all he needs to know. Because fated mates want what they want and oh my goodness do they want it badly.

Now while this is fated mates and we get all the goodies that come with that, I loved that Trevor knows basically nothing about being a shifter or shifter politics so he is pretty damn stubborn about what he is going to do with his love life and life in general. He knows that his wolf feels the pull toward Ryan as his mate and that he wants Ryan in every way but Trevor has a few secrets he hasn’t told anyone and Trevor is packless. Yeah, the first shifter book I have read where the wolf doesn’t have a pack and that puts a wrinkle in a few starched places.

The legend of the Ghost Wolves and the Ghost Moon was new to me and I enjoyed how it was told. The author does a wonderful job of giving you the needed information without weighing you down or making it feel like a shifter manual. Each aspect of the story is given in a way that makes you feel part of the story as you are woven into this world where men can change into wolves and live in a society all their own while being ride outside every human’s peripheral vision. Part of a world with mating rituals that involve a chase, submission and public mating. *ahem* Phew, it just got hot in here.

Oh boy. I feel the rambling tingling through my fingers so I am going to attempt to not let it run wild. I loved that this book has a lot going on, it gives you a lot packed in with the romance and yet it wasn’t too much. I will admit that while the blurb does talk about the killing of the wolves etc. the mystery is not the focus of this book, Ryan and Trevor are and that makes a huge difference to me. We still get the mystery of it all and it wasn’t what I expected. We still get secrets, truths and a bit more at the end that had me literally howling with laughter and surprise because they came out of nowhere but were perfect. We have mating and biting - No knotting *pouts* - declaration of MINE and the all-encompassing lust that only fated mates can bring so this book is a winner any way you look at it.

Ghost wolf started off like a dirty little secret. Trevor is gay, a shifter and clueless. He is basically a walking train wreck. His story is told with dark humour and a string of unfortunate events. He was adopted at birth and doesn't know where he came from. He meets an older wolf who shows him some of the shifter world, but also warns him that being a lone wolf is dangerous. Trevor's wolf is beautiful and unique.

Being gay in a small town isn't easy and Trevor is still a virgin when he goes to study in the city. In the city, he finds wolves not to be what he expected. Ryan is the leader of the pack and Trevor's fated mate. Unfortunately, it's more complicated than that and he has some loose ends to tie up. Keith, another shifter is also interested in some sexy time and Trevor finds himself in high demand.

Shifters are a hated community in some humans eyes and someone is killing them off. Trevor fancies himself a hero but he has to find the problem first.

Ghost Wolf has some really good ideas and the writing style did have me laughing at times. It's a little crude and the main character is a loser. He's the type of person who stumbles through life.

There is an added fantasy fiction to this story which I really liked. Paranormal mystery at its best. I'm teasing I know but I don't want to give anything away.

I was a little unsure how this was going to go in the stars ratings for me but then the last 10% of the book happened. I didn't like it and it was just too far. It was supposed to be light-hearted humour, but I wish it wasn't there.

3 stars out of 5. This book started out really well, but there were a few bumps in the road that wasn't for me. I loved the synopsis and book cover. The writing style is what you would expect from reading the book description.

This book is for an adult audience and the sexy senses were just that. Trevor is learning who he is and has some sexy male/male fantasies. He gets his happily ever after and a place to call home.

I would definitely recommend this book for a light-hearted dark humour read. It's a male/male romance and the shifter element is good. I enjoyed this book and it's worth taking a look at.

I had a love/hate relationship with this book.

I enjoyed this book primarily because it made me laugh.

Trevor was a unique character. He was stubborn, tragically impulsive , thoughtlessly brave and effortlessly funny. All throughout the book I wavered between wanting to shake him for acting without thinking and wanting to hug him because he really needed someone in his corner.

I think Ryan was okay as a character. He seemed too perfect though. His over possessiveness didn’t count as a fault in my books because I think it came prepackaged with the Alpha wolf thing.

I also liked the secondary characters and felt they added something “more” to the story. Special mentions go to Keith and Amanda (or “A-man-duh” / “A-scam-da” as Trevor would say) who both turned out not so bad.

Pertaining to the story proper, I felt it was a bit predictable at times . The “thing” that happened to Trevor in the last chapter was... interesting.

I must say I wasn’t as weirded out at I would have thought. It’s good it was sprung up on me that way though. I think that’s a what made it more of an intrigue and less of a “thing”.

Would I read anything else by Hurri Cosmo if I got another chance? Definitely. I enjoyed this so why not?!

4.5 stars- Sad to see so many low ratings on this great story. Apparently they didn't get it or it was just not for them. For me Trevor was a wonderful character, sort of bumbling his way through life. He only knows he's a wolf shifter because of an elderly man in his neighborhood he refers to as Grandpa has told him as much. When the man dies, Trevor discovers Grandpa has left him a box with two rings, one of which can make him invisible. Then Trevor meets Ryan, a wolf shifter alpha and romance blooms.

Together Ryan and Trevor face many challenges including capture, a jealous spurned woman and a surprise pregnancy. Just loved how these two dealt with every challenge one by one as a team. Great read.

The first 40% was awesome. I really liked it. Trevor was a funny guy. And then the rest of it... umm, not so much. In the beginning, I was thinking this could be 5 stars and then it goes down the hill to 3 stars. What the hell happened??? There's just too much info dump in not so interesting way. I feel tired all of sudden. And there is an unanswered question about the second ring. There's no information about it. So I'm a little bit disappointed. But there's no doubt about the sex. They're HOT. Burning the sheets. Great chemistry. No doubt about it. Ms. Hurri Cosmo would always be my guilty pleasure. I really hope we could get Keith's story next if Ms. Cosmo decided to write a sequel.

‘Ghost Wolf’ is a very original and unusual take on shifter lore that is presented with lots of humor due to the main character’s unique point of view. The worldbuilding is excellent, but the full extent of its rules is only revealed very gradually as the narrative follows Trevor, a young wolf shifter who grows up without a pack. I learned what was going on at the same time as Trevor did, and found his journey of discovery of what it means to be a wolf shifter in this world fascinating. The mix of suspense and humor, presented in Trevor’s mostly immature voice, worked well for me and the tone of this novel is exactly as described in the blurb. I loved all the surprises, the combination of various well-known elements of paranormal fiction, and the complicated plot that twists and turns more than once held my attention.

Started off with a bang. It reminded me of a cross between Mary Calmes and SJ Himes.

However, but by 66% I was struggling to finish. So much potential but I felt the MC relationship was on a repetitive loop.

There's a good book somewhere in Ghost Wolf. Unfortunately, it's hidden by a huge pile of unnecessary exposition, aimless side-plot, and a lack of character development. While Cosmo's writing style flows well, the book would be vastly improved with some stringent editing and some pointers on re-thinking some of the plot points.

I am a sucker for the lowly-protagonist-finds-themselves-the-key-to-Big-Problem plotline. This is one way to tell the story of the Hero's Journey, and when done well it can be utterly engrossing. The problem here is that Trevor starts as a shy and impulsive social misfit who makes poor decisions and by the end of the book he's...a shy and impulsive social misfit who makes poor decisions. What have we accomplished here? What is acceptable at the beginning of the book becomes increasingly annoying as little character growth occurs.

The side-characters are, alas, rather flimsy. Trevor's Fated Mate (a term which is thrown around to exhaustion) Ryan is rich, strong, and dotes on Trevor. We don't really get too much more insight into his character than that. The one character who does have an arc, going from potential antagonist to ally to friend, appears to change course at the drop of a hat (or a single revelation).

Then there's the exposition dump. We learn a lot about werewolf pack dynamics, rules, ranks, and how the packs relate to each other. There's nothing wrong with this, but 1. Don't give all of the information at once in pages after pages, and 2. Ask whether each bit of information is relevant to the plot. Unfortunately, at least 50% of the information given is not, and can actually be quite distracting (like why are werewolf ranks Greek letters, until they're not?).

Then there's the plot. The blurb suggests the wolf murders are central to the plot, but in reality, they are peripheral. The how and why of them is given very early on, so there's not much mystery there. Plot points need to be made, but do so efficiently. I don't need to know what bus a character took and what transfers needed to be made to do so. This can all be dispatched with a single sentence. There is also an entire subplot about misdeeds at Trevor's workplace that has zero impact on the overall plot and could be cut completely.

Finally, while spell checking is a great thing, it completely misses homophones. There were many incorrect homophones in the text, which was distracting. On the bright side, the book cover design is quite nice, a welcome diversion from the usual style of the genre.

I'm afraid I cannot recommend Ghost Wolf in its present form. Perhaps if it is re-edited and revised at a later date it may be worth reading, though.

Ghost Wolf is your average shifter book: not badly written nor very captivating.
It could easily have a 100 pages less. Also, it's a real shame only the last part of the story is about Trevor's pregnancy. This feels a bit rushed.

Summary:
Trevor's life changed in a blink of an eye at eleven when he changed into a wolf. He had no idea what was happening until a neighbor, who he called Grandpa, taught him what he needed to know. That knowledge gave kept him safe and alive, that is until he moved to the city and everything changed. Now Trevor wasn't your usual wolf, he called himself a Ghost Wolf because with the help of a special ring from Grandpa he could disappear. Grandpa told him that his wolf color was all wrong and it could get him killed of he encountered an alpha. Between school bullies and magic rings Trevor had his hands full making him put aside the mysterious rings for a time, but magic can never be forgotten for too long.

After moving away for college stranger things begin to happen. In Trevor's hometown wolves are being killed and left out in front of his school making him wonder what was going on. Between school and his detested job at Kinsalla Trevor has his hands full trying to make ends meet until the day he met his office mates a club. Trevor saw the most gorgeous man, Ryan, ever, that is until he realized he was with a woman. Their attraction was mutual, but love in never easy leaving the two to struggle with their growing feels towards each while fending off the Wolf council, Ryan's ex who is determined to get her man back, trying to find missing pack members, and Trevor's difficulties dealing with pack rules after living the life of a lone wolf.

This book was an incredible journey as Trevor entered a world he never expected finding the love and acceptance he never had if he is willing to take a chance. This was a fast paced intricate story that took on a life of its won with characters who quickly took control as the book unfolded. Many authors would have broken this into more than one story, but I loved that it continued giving the reader closure while possibly opening the possibility that their stories were not yet over.

This particular book was several things for me: it’s long, entertaining, and a bit YA—at least in the beginning—it’s mysterious, tedious, and quirky. The story has mystery, a touch of magic, and is a good example of fantasy fiction. It has a dark humor and a HEA. I know, confusing… right?! Thing is, when it was all said and done, I did enjoy it, at least parts of it, but the story kind of has its fits and starts and when it runs over on a topic, it really runs over on the topic. But when it ended, and I looked back in hindsight, I understood what the author was trying to accomplish, and, overall, it is an enjoyable storyline. And don’t think that this is a YA novel because of the above comment. It is not, at all.

Hurri Cosmo has a simplified writing style. It is conversational and done through the eyes of our main character, Trevor. At the beginning of the book, the story has a cadence that reminded me a great deal of young adult literature. As the story progresses, you almost have to look past that cadence—or just get used to it so that it doesn’t detract from the overall story. Trevor likes to make observations and comments on all his and other characters’ actions in his head; it is like having a built-in commentator in the storyline. Trevor is one of these characters that stumble through life. Things just happen to him again and again and again.

Ghost Wolf is the tale of a self-deprecating (to the point of being painful) young man named, Trevor, and the Alpha of the Jarfang pack (who, for someone who runs multiple businesses, is rather naïve). It’s a coming-of-age, coming-into-his-own story about a boy who learns at eleven years old that he can turn into a wolf. Trevor has always been on his own. Adopted at an early age he only has his mom, who he isn’t particularly close to, and an elderly neighbor he calls Grandpa. Circumstances happen beyond his control when Trevor moves away to go to college, and suddenly Trevor finds himself in the middle of a pack of wolves and he struggles to know how to act, what to do, and who to trust. Grandpa was a bitter old wolf who filled Trevor’s head with a lot stories, and Trevor really doesn’t want to find out if some of them are true or not; they are too horrifying.

The alpha of the pack, Ryan, knows Trevor is his fated mate the first time he sees him; he just doesn’t understand how Trevor can keep running away from him or continue to push him away. Ryan is a young Alpha, and as such he doesn’t have the commanding presence of someone older. His pack loves him, and he is working towards the inclusion of all forms of wolves into his pack. I kept wishing Ryan would ‘grow into his character.’ I pretty much thought that given ten years, he could be a great character and Alpha male. And honestly, Ryan is just what Trevor needs. He does ground Trevor somewhat, which is what Trevor needed.

Of course, with a touch of magic and a lot of happenstance, our HEA is actualized but it takes a while to get there; this is a very long book. There were parts of this storyline I thought… why? And there were parts of this storyline that I thought… oooo that’s good! Sorry for the mixed review, it’s just I have mixed feelings about the book. Overall, I would say that I would recommend it, just with a caveat. Like I said, when it was all said and done, I did enjoy most of it and it’s got a good premise and storyline. I actually liked that it wasn’t your “regular” shifter book. The secondary characters were interesting and annoying all in good measure. If you’re looking for a shifter book with a touch of magic, then this fits the bill. If you are looking for a shifter book with alpha males and submissive omegas, then keep looking because this book could not be farther away from that.

I loved this book. Yes, it was long. But all of it made sense. None of it seemed worthless to the storyline. I think some people are just used to these shorter, almost "novellas" that are flooding the M/M market and just could not draw out their attention span in order to finish a really good, long, novel.
That having been said, I do love the shorter books as well. It's just that I was very pleasantly suprised when I saw the length of Ghost Wolf. And it did not disappoint me at all. Not even a little bit.
Trevor does not know how to handle his first shift at 11 years old, nor does he really understand anything about himself, even with the little bit of assistance from "Grandpa" an old man who Trevor runs across on one of his runs in the woods. Trevor. in wolf form, literally runs into an older wolf and is shocked to see the elderly wolf chowing down on a fresh kill. Trevor freaks out, heading home, shifting back into his human form and basically hiding in his room after the encounter, confused and unsure.
Grandpa tracks him down and introduces himself to Trevor's adoptive mother, Julie, as a neighbor coming to say hello. But Grandpa wants to know about Trevor's unique silvery fur color, saying he has never seen the like it before. Thus begins a unique and endearing friendship between the two shifters.
Eventually, Grandpa passes away, and circumstances lead Trevor to coming into possession of a box left to him by Grandpa that holds 2 rings, both extremely unusual, almost seeming to be alive. One of the rings "adjusts" itself to Trevors finger and when he finds himself in a dangerous bullying situation that fills him with terrible fear, the ring activates something in him and Trevor accidentally realizes that he can turn invisible, or "ghost", as he calls it. He eventually learns to use his "super hero" at will, but always knowing deep down that he is definitely not super hero material. In reality, Trevors knows himself to be a small, skinny, awkward young man who doesn't seem to fit anywhere.
Throughout the next several years, Trevor moves from his hometown, goes to college and gets a part time job that is not covering the rent or his other bills. But one night, he decides to meet with his work buddies at a club and runs across a blonde-haired hulk of a man who will change his life forever.
Trevor and Ryan's meeting opens up virginal Trevor's life to true sexual desire for the first time, where he first hears the term "Fated Mates". This meeting brings along for the ride more changes than Trevor (or Ryan, an Alpha to his own pack) knows what to do with, or how to handle. These include excitement, fear, danger, love, new friends and new foes as Ryan introduces him to a world of more shifters than Trevor ever realized could or did exist, as well as Ghost Wolves, Elders and The Council, just to mention a few, all while Trevor is being blessed with new ones he will call "family" at the same time.
This book was very easy to read, though it took patience to get to the end without rushing through it. But I am so glad I took the time to read every word because I simply fell in love with the two main characters as well as all of the supporting ones. Yes, even the "baddies"...I loved them, too, for making the story so much better.

Oh wow, talk about a book that just captures your attention and when you think it is about to come to an end something else happens and has your captured all over again. This is definitely one of those books that is action packed. It has elements of danger to it. There is mystery. And most of al there is love. Hurri Cosmo definitely has a book that is going to blow its readers away. I know I was.

Trevor has no idea what is happening to him that faithful day when he was still just a boy and shifts into a wolf for the first time. All he did know is that he felt free and he enjoyed it. But he also knew he could not say anything to anyone, especially his mom. By accident he found out that his neighbor, which he ended up honking of as his grandfather, was also a shifter so he was able to teach Trevor some things about shifters, packs, and some of the ways that lone shifters are treated.

When Trevor's grandfather passed away he left a very special gift for Trevor. At the time when Trevor opened the gift for the first time he did not understand the significance of the rings that he was left. What he did know is one of the rings scared him whereas the other felt as if it was made for him. The significance behind he ring did not reveal itself until Trevor found himself in danger from a bully from school and from that moment on Trevor knew that there was definitely something special about the ring and the less anyone knew about it the better.

Skip ahead years later and Trevor is in college and working part time to pay his bills. This is when something amazing happens for him, he meets his fated mate. Ryan is blown away about finally meeting his fated mate and the fact that they met when they did is definitely fate sinceRyan was about to mate with someone else. Ryan have given up hope on meeting the one that the fates had made for him but when he meets Trevor he knows that nothing will stop him from being with him.

Or will it? There is danger just around the corner and if they do not watch it one or both may not survive it long enough to make their mating official. Can Ryan and Trevor overcome all the obstacles standing in their way or will fate step in and stop their mating from happening after all.

This is such an incredible read. I could not put it down. I really hope that Hurri will write another book about these people. Because I would really love to read a book about Keith. He was such a huge part of his book and I would really loved to read a book where he gets his story as well. This was a truly incredible read.

Trevor is a young wolf shifter who learned on his powers on his own–with the help of a neighbor he called Grandpa. Grandpa was a shifter too, and held some knowledge and more secrets that he shared with Trevor through his will.

We start with him as a youngish boy–and follow him up to a new town as he works on his college plan. When there, he meets more shifters; some of whom find him very much attractive. One of these is Ryan Jarfang and another is Keith Karlack–both alphas of neighboring shifter clans. Ryan had been betrothed to a female shifter, but breaks that off when he senses Trevor is his Fated Mate. Trevor hasn’t owned up to Ryan about his special power, being able to disappear, that he’s able to use in moments of danger.

This is an interesting read, but I definitely struggled with it. Trevor had troubles assimilating in his new world, but he just keeps running from them. Ryan has to track him down again and again, as he rebels. Their rapid courtship sparks conflict between the packs. Trevor did get on my nerves, and I really felt like the book started too soon. We could have picked up with him being in college, not in middle school, and I probably would have liked the story more. It otherwise seemed to drag, and then jumped forward with coincidences that felt a bit disingenuous.

For the shifter story, there was some interesting pack dynamics, and the fated-ness of Trevor and Ryan coming together wasn’t the interesting part. The way they were able to call on higher powers–connecting the real with the super-paranormal in ways that I hadn’t read before. I liked that part. Unfortunately, it felt too long to get there. Expect some different dynamics and a side of mpreg, too.

I received a copy of Ghost Wolf by Hurri Cosmo via IndiGo Marketing & Design in exchange for an honest review.

Trevor grows up without a pack and without anyone to teach him to be a wolf. He learns that he's a wolf all on his own at an early age. He also learns that he can turn invisible, or ghost. He's mostly alone growing up except for is mom until he meets his fated mate and then his life gets really interesting. About that time someone starts killing wolves too. He meets his fated mate, Ryan. Ryan is an alpha who runs a local pack. He's already set to mate a woman, which causes a lot of trouble for them when he calls things off since she's from a rival pack. And someone is after Trevor and something he has. It's all Ryan can do to keep his fated mate safe and alive long enough to have the mating ceremony. They are constantly being chased and hiding and having to deal with the issues being created by the father of the "jilted mate". There is so much drama and action that the story is never dull or boring. It's easy to follow though and it kept my attention. I felt the pace was comfortable. It's a longer story but I didn't feel that way. I thought the fact that Trevor could become invisible was a nice twist to the traditional alpha-omega-shifter story. It gave the book a unique feel to help stand out. I enjoyed it and would recommend it.

received a copy of Ghost Wolf by Hurri Cosmo via IndiGo Marketing & Design in exchange for an honest review. I am always impressed when an author creates a new twist on werewolves, which Cosmo has done here. Werewolves are not out in this world, so being able to disappear is a real advantage (one of the new twists). Unfortunately for Trevor the first time he discovers he can turn invisible he also was found out to be a shifter. He’s trying to get on with life, working at a call center while going to college, when he comes to the attention of Ryan, the alpha of one of the local packs. What I liked about Trevor was he tried so hard to be his own person, always standing on his own two (or four) feet. Ryan initially comes across as a typical alpha, but turns out to be more evolved than that, which makes for an interesting dynamic between them. It was intriguing to watch them solve the mystery of the dead wolves and try to bring shifter society into the twenty-first century. I loved that this was not the typical alpha/omega mpreg story, but Trevor managed to become pregnant even though that should have been impossible (another twist). Since there is a minor plot line left unresolved, I hope for more adventures of Trevor and Ryan!

Ghost Wolf by author Hurri Cosmo is a story I could not stop reading. I loved the originality and the characters in this book. I would even love for this to be a series so I could read more about this world in the future.
There is an in-depth insight into the bad guy. I liked that too. Sometimes we only get what they do and not why I liked knowing the bad guy more.
Trevor is a wolf, he is a special wolf. He can turn invisible. He has had no one to help me shift or learn to that is. But he did have a guidance in a lone wolf he referred to as grandpa.
He is a strong boy who makes a strong man. I liked seeing his complete journey and getting his take on the world around him.
Ryan is a wolf he is an alpha of a pack. He doesn’t really understand at first that Trevor has no clue about fated mates or packs or anything. Once he does he is protective, kind, and the perfect mate.
I loved the humor in this book. It is quirky and fun. The characters are memorable and likable as well. Overall a real must-read for a paranormal MM lover like myself.

I had previously read a few books by this author and I enjoyed all of them; so once I read the synopsis I figured I’d enjoy this one as well. This book is told from Trevor’s POV and we start out when he’s 11 years old and grow with him til he’s an adult. He’s always kept aspects of his personal life quiet – he’s a gay shifter and he can turn invisible? I think we can understand why he wasn’t sure he wanted that to be public knowledge.

This story was filled with humor and discovery. I loved the way Trevor’s and Ryan’s characters interact throughout the book; it was entertaining to watch their relationship journey start out and see where it got them by the end. To see them grow together was fun for the reader. I don’t want to spoil anything – but I will say if you are a fan of M/M shifter romances then you will enjoy this book for sure!

I was given this ARC by Indigo in exchange for an honest review.

Wow, this book was a great read. Much fluffier than I normally read but I could not put it down.
Well written, great story line, some interesting twists and one bitch of a drama queen to top it all off.

Trevor, Ryan and Keith were oh so hot. Sweet and just drool worthy, these characters really had unique features yet they seemed bound together somehow from the start.

5 stars for me would have been Ryan taking more of an Alpha stand when Trevor went against his wishes. That aside, the only reason I did not give it 5 stars was because I knew from the start how Ryan's mom would react to Ryan's big secret and I wish hadn't.

Amanada, well what can I say, spoiled rotten drama queen all the way. She stuck a wrench in everything she could and did a damn good job of it too.

I would highly recommend this book.

I really liked this book to a new to me author. From the very beginning you see that Ryan is devoted to Trevor and is willing to wait as long as Trevor needed him to before they mated. Amanda was a total bitch but I could see her point of view, sort of. But what I didn't understand is that she knew that if a fated mate situation happened then their upcoming mating would be null and void. Maybe it was her father that was pushing her. She did finally redeem herself in the end. I love the whole ghost wolf society. I wish this would turn into a series so we got to see the babies grow up and to see if they are able to ghost with the use of the rings.

"Amanda asked me the same thing. I never thought about it. I've never done it with a man. Never wanted to."

Oh, look. Another one of those books. Author, if your main character has never been at all interested in a homosexual relationship, maybe he doesn't belong in an MM romance book? Just a thought.

Loved this new variation on the Shifter theme. I think it would be great if a few books continued this story arc. Updating us on this couple and writing about a new couple/couples. I don’t understand some of the negative reviews. I would recommend it.

A Scattered Thoughts and Rogue Words Review An Alisa Review:

Rating: 4.25 stars out of 5

I was so excited to see a new story from Hurri Cosmo and it was as great as I anticipated. Trevor has been keeping so many secrets since he discovered he was a wolf shifter and his grandpa’s words keep him cautious. Ryan quickly throws his world into a tailspin but not in a completely bad way.

Trevor never actually learned much about being a shifter or a part of shifter society. He is quickly thrown into the politics of it. Ryan is devoted to Trevor from the beginning and is willing to wait as long as Trevor needed him to.

We saw the story from Trevor’s point of view. It was easy to see his confusion and fear when he first really met Ryan and how to navigate their relationship. I loved the mpreg that was thrown into the story and it’s one of my favorite themes.

The cover art by E Keith is wonderful and I think it’s perfect for this story.

Ohmygod, I thought I will die before I finish this book - nerves and all like this, you know... I cannot express my feelings. All I can say - that this book is deadly hot, thrilling, making you tremble with worry, and astonishing.
(Though an author could warn that this is mpreg. I don't mind, just would be good to be warned.)
And I hope we will see one more book - about Keith.
