My favorite story telling is Beauty and The Beast and when it’s told in an adult’s eye even better. I loved Zach and Jessibella they made a great couple I felt there chemistry. This is my first book by K.B Winters and I must say it won’t be my last. I gladly give Once Upon A Beast 5 Stars.

There are some super dynamics going on here between the main characters, Zach and Jessibelle. Zach is a billionaire businessman who retreated into a dark depression when the death of his father was closely followed by his fiance’s walk-out. He just hasn’t seen any reason to face life for the past several months, so his business has sort of run on “auto-pilot” with the help of his brother and others while he languished alone in his country mansion.
Then Jessibelle enters his world. She’s been sent by her law firm as the sacrificial lamb to get paperwork signed in an attempt to keep his empire from slipping completely away from him. Zach isn’t interested in what she has to say. She’s not interested in slinking back to the office having failed. The battle of the wills begins.
These two light things up from the moment they meet, and that brilliance just gets stronger with each page. Their wit and banter are as much fun as their steamy bedroom sessions. Zach and Jessibelle are a perfect complement to each other’s personality. They’re both incredibly intelligent, driven, and stubborn as mules. The plot is completely engaging, with some great twists along the way. This is simply a great, fun read.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader's copy of this book.
This book didn’t really grab my interest, which made it a difficult read for me. The flow was very choppy (I don’t know if maybe that’s due to having 2 authors or...?). There were some parts that were confusing or didn’t seem right or just didn’t mesh together well. I didn’t really like the characters of Jessi & Zach, & I can’t really say why either. They just didn’t resonate with me. I really didn’t read the “love” between them either, it just felt like lust from the beginning. I also never really got to the point where my mind could just take it in without questioning everything happening as being believable.

This book really touched a chord with me, Depression can turn anyones life upside down. In this story, Zach is the CEO of his business but when his father suddenly dies followed by his fiance leaving him he falls into a deep depression. For months he neglects his business and it begins to flounder. So when his companies lawyers send over Jessibell to try and work out a plan to keep the board from selling off the company, the last thing that he thought would happen as that he would fall for her.
They work together to both get him on his feet mentally and also to find out who in his company is pretty much double crossing him.
Come to find out it is everyone he thought that he could trust. His brother, his ex, the one person that had been with him since the beginning and even Aston, who happened to be Jessibell's ex. I was so pissed off for Zach instead of trying to help him with his tough time they chose that time to try and take everything for him.
They work together to both get him on his feet mentally and also to find out who in his company is pretty much double crossing him.
Come to find out it is everyone he thought that he could trust. His brother, his ex, the one person that had been with him since the beginning and even Aston, who happened to be Jessibell's ex. I was so pissed off for Zach instead of trying to help him with his tough time they chose that time to try and take everything for him.

Zach Rose, the CEO of his company, was not in good form; he had not even gotten out of bed and had ignored everyone. His Dad had died, and now his mansion felt horribly empty. Even his fiancée left him when it became obvious that he was not coming out of this depression. Throwing himself into business had left nothing for his personal life. He had hit rock bottom and refused to come back into the world again, and everything started to slip away.
So what woke him this morning? Now he could hear the pounding on his door. It was obvious that it was not going to stop, so he grabbed his robe and went downstairs. A woman was there, Jessibelle Adams, who said she had an appointment and wanted to talk about asset management of something! He snarled that he didn’t want to talk, then turned and walked away from the door. To his surprise, she followed him into the dark mansion.
To shock her and make her go away, he stepped into his pool room to swim – and dropped his robe to the ground. After staring straight ahead for some time while he swam naked in front of her, Jessi slammed down the papers she carried -- he saw she had finally had enough. She walked to the pool’s edge, and called him an a%$$#@. It was bad enough that her cheating ex treated her so disrespectfully – she should not have to put up with it from this jerk client.
Whatever it was, her words and strength got to him. Zach fell asleep that night easily, and found himself awake, shaving, and planning what suit to wear to work! He felt alive again; he enjoyed the sun and fresh air. He walked into the office, shocking everyone, and met with a surprised Jessi. She gave him her honest assessment, and they went for coffee to continue. Hours later, he asked her to dinner. He was ready to do what he needed to get control back of his company. Feeling a little tipsy from dinner, Jessi agreed to go to a club with him. They ended up at his in-town apartment and spent the night together. Jessi left early in the morning and resolved to never do that again! She had to be professional! He was her client! But pulling away from him was one of the most difficult things she ever did. Could they work together on his case? Could they keep what had happened a secret? She had no idea what she would be facing!
This was a very well written, excellent story that drew the reader in from the very first page. We can feel the terrible pain and loss that Zach is feeling as his world crumbles around him. Meeting the headstrong Jessi pulls him out of his dismal funk. The story line is very well paced, interesting and compelling. When Jessi becomes aware of a scheme to take Zach’s company from him, she is compelled to step in to prevent his losing everything. How will they get this sorted out? This book is sizzling and you will love every page!

Once of my favorite fairy tales to retell, and here it's given a bit of a unique adult twist.
Zach (H) has been a recluse, fighting depression since his father died, abandoned by his fiancee and his brother, and at risk of losing his company altogether. Jessi (h) is his lawyer, sent to try and kick his butt into gear one last time. She's off men at the moment, having just split with a cheating ex, and not in the mood to deal with Zach. The flying sparks might be just what they each need, though. Can she learn to trust again? Will he be able to overcome his grief and reclaim his company before it's too late?
I liked the depression angle. I liked it as a set-up for a Beast character, and I enjoyed seeing him come out and back into the world. I know depression isn't that easy to kick, and it all happened in quite a whirlwind here (the whole "magic relationship" that solves everything). Still, I liked it as an adult, real world Beast set-up, and Jessi made for a good kick to get him starting to sort his life out. Even if that subsequent sorting-out happened way too fast.
Overall, it was just too fast. That's really my biggest complaint. I liked the set-up and the characters and the challenge they faced and their chemistry and all that, but it almost felt like a novella in pacing. Even though it's closer to 300 pages and a full novel length. Just so much happening so fast.
Alternating 1st person POV. No cheating, no OW/OM drama, and no love triangles. You might argue that Jessi's ex is OM drama, but he's really just part of the overall villainy rather than creating OM drama. Steamy and engaging, and an interesting take on a classic favorite. An enjoyable read, for certain, just a bit rushed. HEA and no cliffhanger.
Would I read more by this author? Yes, I've enjoyed a number of her MC romances too, and will probably continue to do so (especially if I keep finding them on Kindle specials!).

But then comes the threats of their life, both their exes returning for a second chance, a misunderstanding and a complaint from shareholders with a hidden deception for Zach from his most trusted person.
The book was smooth and erotic with Zach and Jessibella's budding relationship and their amazing sex and it immediately takes a twist turn and plot turns more serious kept me at edge to know how they get together finally. I loved it and hope the other will do too.

I wanted a quick and easy read while I was waiting around for an appointment, so this book as free in Kindle Unlimited and figured why not. I'll tell you why not: it was horrible.
Ok, I get it. In a short story like this, with "hot and heavy" sex, you shouldn't expect any character development or a completely realistic plot. But I at least expect things to be plausible enough that I am not jerked back to reality when I read something so incongruent that I go "wait, what?"
For example: the main character is fresh out of law school; meaning she is approximately 25 years old. Apparently she made it all the way to her last year in law school before she lost her virginity to a man who then cheated on her. So she has some baggage - baggage that is implied she has never been with anyone else or since. So just how is she is so secure in her sexuality that she ... does what she does? In addition to that, she knows good and well she is not allowed to sleep with a client! The rules of ethics have so many comments on that subject.
I also hated that she pulls away from the male lead, acts like a cold hearted vixen, and then complains that he hasn't come after her or reached out to her. It just seemed so complicated ... and I don't want that in a "quick and easy read"!
There were a few grammatical errors; and I swear at one point a character's name was wrong; this is a peeve of mine and will automatically make me have issues with the book.
Finally, this is NOT a modern retelling of Beauty and the Beast. It's just a rich boy who shut himself away from the world for a bit and the beautiful girl that got him into action again.

Zach was once a genius businessman absorbed in his work. He made billions and everyone looked up to him. Then in a short time he lost his father unexpectedly and his fiancee left him. Zach fell into depression and buried himself in his mansion and started to ignore his business. After a few months, his coworkers and stock holders started getting nervous and wanted provisions made to the business could carry on without him. They sent Jessibelle to his house with proposals how to restructure. When Zach sees Jessibelle for the first time, he starts to feel interest again. Her spirited reactions to his rudeness makes him want to get to know her.
Jessibelle went to see Zach for business. She didn't expect to be attracted to him and even his unbelievable rudeness wasn't enough to totally turn her off. When Zach shows up in the office the next day, Jessibelle doesn't know what to think. Zach seems to want her for more than her business skills. Zach and Jessibelle have a hard road in front of then to convince everyone that Zach is back in business. Sometimes sending Beauty to the Beast is a big wake-up call.
This is a good twist on Beauty and the Beast. I really enjoy reading how Zach got over his depression and started his life again. I voluntarily received a copy of this story and this is my honest review.

Zach slipped into a depression after his father died and his girlfriend left him. Jessibelle is the lawyer assigned to help him keep control of his company. Jessibelle never expected to see her client naked but he was trying to get rid of her and dropped naked into his pool. No one is more surprised then Jessibelle when Zach walks into work the next day ready to discuss his case. Things escalate pretty quick between them after the meeting and they end up having sex. Jessibelle worries about her job and takes off before Zach is awake however he isn't about to let her get away. Everything was going well until Jessibelle sees that her ex is opposing council at first she stumbles but quickly gains her feet and wins the first battle. What Jessibelle didn't expect when she started digging further into Zach's case is to find evidence of a betrayal that no one could've seen coming. Will Zach claim Jessibelle for his own? Can Zach maintain control of his company?
This was an amazing story I couldn't stop turning pages to see what was going to happen. There's a surprise twist. The chemistry between Zach and Jessibelle is explosive. If you haven't grab this book then you should its a must read.

3.5 stars. Zach is on a temporary leave from being ceo of his company after the death of his father. He is depressed & hiding from the world when he meets Jessibelle. Jessibelle is working for her stepfather’s law firm & is sent to Zach’s house to discuss asset management. When they first meet he is rude to her & ignores her expecting her to just give up on him & leave like all his friends & ex have done. She doesn’t back down & let’s him know what she thinks of him. This interests Zach since most people don’t act that way towards him. He started off as somewhat of a jerk, but becomes kinder & more caring later. I liked his character. Jessibelle, not so much. I took off half a star cause I got tired of her hot & cold attitude toward Zach. I get that she was hurt in her previous relationship when her ex cheated on her, but she didn’t have to be sending mixed signals. Despite her ice queen attitude, she did try to do what was best for Zach business wise. Overall, it was a good story. I just didn’t care for the heroine & because of that I couldn’t connect with the main characters in general. I couldn’t see why Zach was so hung up on her.

Zach has lost everything - his father, his friends, and soon his company, everything. Until Jessibelle walks into his life and brings a little (a lot) of light. She's a lawyer out to help him manage his assets while his company decides what to do with the company he's let go while he's been wallowing in his depression. I like how Jessi fights for Zach, and how much he needs her. So often in romances these days, the man is all alpha all the time, with no visible weaknesses in his armor. But here, Zach is very vulnerable and Jessi supports him while she helps him get his life together.
Once Upon a Beast has KB's signature sexy style, along with an emotional component that's really appreciated. Kudos to KB and Evie for this sexy, sweet modern day fairytale romance.

Zach is a very rich man who has just lost his father and his fiance and is now dealing with depression. He has been in hiding for a few months and is on the cusp of losing his business. Jessibelle is an attorney who works for her creepy step-father and is in charge of Zach's case to help keep him in control of his businesses. When they first meet he doesn't leave a first good impression. He's cranky, doesn't want to talk to her, decides to drop his robe and jump in his pool naked while Jessibelle is standing right there. He thinks this will change her mind, he's completely wrong. She's the first woman who has ever challenged him like this, can he trust her to help him. This is a well written book, the characters were developed very well and the storyline will keep your interest throughout the book. There's some sexiness as well. What more can you ask for... This should be on your TBR or maybe you should one-click today.

Great take on someone who adored his father and had worked himself to take the greatness of a company he was given to new heights. Who would have thought when Zach's father died he would have sunk into such a depression he would basically become non-existent at the company. Once it was clear he would be staying away for a while the board decided to try and relieve him of his duties. This brings in Jessibelle, the lawyer who was sent to work with him on keeping as much of the company as he could. Jessibelle has her own personal demons with an a$$ for an ex. She is just the right person Zach needs to pull him out of his own mind. She is sassy and stands up to him. This is a great book that will show how evil some family can be along with ones who you have entrusted to run your company when you are not able to. A 4.5 star read for me, with lots of heat, a wealthy hero who's reeling from loss of his beloved father and betrayal in business, and a feisty lawyer/heroine. Zach has a lot of angst and some rage issues but, underneath it all, I found him appealing. So did Jessi, and she has difficulty keeping her professional persona intact when Zach is near. Though lack of communication created some hitches in their romantic relationship and their pursuit of his legal case, they are red hot 🔥🔥🔥🔥 together. Not a lot of development of any of the secondary characters, but that did not detract from my enjoyment of the story. Well-written and good pace that kept be hooked from beginning to end. :-)

Absolutely fantastic book, I love sexy fairytales and this one is another great version. Zachary is a CEO of his own business, Jessibelle is a lawyer. Jessi goes to Zach’s mansion to discuss business but she finds him in his pool swimming naked and isn’t impressed. Jessi discovers that someone is trying to take over Zach’s business but Jessi needs to find out who it is before it’s too late. This is a better version of Beauty and the Beast with plenty of scorching hot sex scenes. There’s great chemistry between Jessi and Zach and a great twist in the storyline. Fantastic read and I recommend you give this book a read you won’t regret it. This book deserves more than 5 stars.

I loved this story. Once I began reading “Once Upon a Beast” I couldn't stop. This book is well-written with well-developed characters. Zach a handsome billionaire is in a deep depression after his father's death and losing his fiance. His business is about to fail when Jessi enters his life. She is a lawyer and has been sent in an attempt to reorganize Zach's company while he recuperates. Betrayed by so many people, Zach and Jessi work together to save his company. “Once Upon a Beast” is a roller-coaster ride of betrayal, hope, desperation, fear, secrets and steamy romance. I strongly suggest giving this book a try. It is definitely worthwhile.

A modern day version of Beauty and the Beast will grab your attention right at the beginning and keep you page turning. Wow, what a great book and a roller coaster of emotions. Zach became reclusive and depressed after the loss of his father and his fiance walking out on him. In the process he ignored his business and trouble is brewing. His law firm sends Jessie to the rescue. He is arrogant but she is strong and determined. Their attraction is strong and she brings him back to life in many ways. But to keep things interesting both their ex's appear wanting them back. No spoiler here, but this is a great romance with an HEA. I read an advance copy and voluntarily chose to write a review.

Jessibelle has to find a way to help Zach retain his company before the board of directors can take control seat from him but will she be able to?
There are a lot of twist and turns in this book that keeps you guessing. This story will definitely keep your interest. You won't be disappointed by this book.

Zach a billionaire that’s depressed and almost lose his company thanks to employees, shareholders, and his little brother. It’s been months and everyone can’t get Zach out of his funk or depression. Then Jessibelle comes crashing into his life and doesn’t take any shit from him. Who knew that a visit from Jessibelle would wake Zach up and realize everything he is about to lose? The sparks fly between Zach and Jessi. They know that nothing should happen since she is his attorney fighting for him to keep control of his company that his father built from ground up. Two broken souls that has been hurt by their exes and not sure if they can trust or move on with their life. You will not be disappointed in this read.

The sex was hit as hell and that helped make up for my dislike of Jessibelle. Yes Zachary more more more! I loved Zachary. He was in a bad place with the death of his father and the woman he loved leaving him all at the same time. He deserved to hide away from the world. Jessi comes in his life and stirs him to come out of his self imposed jail but she didn’t so right by him. She constantly gave him mixed signals. Sexing him down and and soon as the act was over she was ignoring him and acting like an icy bitch. When Alana came back in the picture icy Jessi had the nerve to cry. I don’t like Jessi. She was always up and down in the book with her feelings. She behaved like a teenager than a grown woman. Zachary deserved better than her.

Their attraction is instant, but she is hesitant to trust. Will Zach be able to break down Jessibelle's walls? Will Jessibelle be able to discover who is out to get Zach?
This was one steamy read! The heat between the two characters was great. I loved the fact that while these two were set on each other, they still had doubts. Will admit to wanting to smack both up the heads when they were thinking about their exes, but who hasn't had second thought atleast once in their life. Good read!
