“Meera : love more than allowed” is a story about love. This is a story that teaches us to fight for love. A quote in the book says, “Fight for love even when every nerve in your goddamn body says otherwise. Fight for it when all stand against it. Fight for it even when one of you wants out of it because they have suffered long enough. Fight for it when it no longer serves you or grows on you. And most importantly, fight for it even when you know that togetherness is just a reverie now.”

The author has weaved a beautiful story with a lot of emotions. The novel is in the form of a epistolary format, comprising of diary entries. The narrative style is smooth and fluid with a strong paraphrasing and is written in a very neat language. The vocabulary used by the author is remarkable. The story is also quite gripping and by the end of each page, the curiosity of what is going to happen in the next went on increasing. I finished the book in one go and after finishing it, I felt very alone and sad. This is what the story does to you, it makes you helpless.

Meera is a character with whom all the readers will be able to connect themselves. Her journey throughout the story is quite inspiring, her sacrifices, her pain, her relation with her daughter, how she raised her on her own without her father is worthy of attention. Other than Meera, I loved the characters of Shikha and Rohan as well.

One thing I felt that could have been better in this book is, if the author would have explored more about the character of Aditya. I wanted to know more about him. But, I think that the author wanted to focus more on the character of Meera and so she has not explored the character of Aditya.

Overall, this book was a good one time read. I would recommend everyone to give it a read at least once.

Meera- This book is all about Love. I loved reading it and finished it in a go. Firstly, I loved the title and cover of the book. It's attractive and Interesting. It's all about compromises, that one makes in life, it's about first love.
it's the story of Aarna who finds her mother's diary, which is about the life moments she never shared with her. It's an old diary which unfolds her Mother's story. The best and worst moments of Life. The story of Meera.

The start of the story is really good. I loved how it started. One can easily connect with the story well. It has a grip. The narration of the story is also good.  It's like a daughter reading her mother's story. The pace of the story is lil slow and sometimes the story gets philosophical.  The tempo of the story is good, as it has many twists and turns. It's about the pain she went through when she Loved more than allowed. It's an emotional story, conversations and lives of Mother and daughter, a well-narrated story. The Characters that the author made, are attractive and connecting. One will fall in love with Aaditya's Character. How can one forget Meera's Character who had fought all her life for love. Who has struggled all her life. The pain that she had all her life, her teachings to her daughter. It was overall a wonderful read. The narration was also switching from past to present. Meera to Aarna which gave a clear Idea of the story. I also loved the end, the climax of the story was amazing. The way Aarna reacted, portrayed how strong she was like her mother. What happens when one love more than it's allowed.  The language was also easy, simple and interesting.  The author has a good hold on vocabulary. The plot is also smooth to read.

Overall it's a good read with an interesting plot, simple language, interesting vocabulary, smooth narration, strong Characters makes it a wonderful read.

Unlike other stories which has happy ending, this Tale speaks of bonding and sacred relations which lasts till eternity even though togetherness is a myth.
The author has beautifully portrayed about a selfless lovestory of an Indian girl who further chooses family over love .This seems really connecting as the story seems so much real and happening all around. After completion of novel it left me in state to find Meera and her friends were real and they do exist.Such a good depiction of true emotions towards loved ones.Exceptionally penned well.Every love story doesn't have end ,if it did then it's not love.People leave but scars etched by them remains unfaded with time.

Thanks Shipra for such a good literature.Hoping to find more of your contribution in writing.

Book Name (with subtitle): Meera (Love more than allowed)
Author Name: Shipra Sinha Saxena
Format: Kindle
No of Pages: 254
Publisher: Notion Press (1st Ed. 2018)
Blurb: The blurb portion of the book has been written in a compact way while highlighting the substance of the story. As a romance lover, I can bet that, the blurb has the potential to tempt the reader to go through the inner story of the book. So, it is good & well presented I can say.
Cover: The front cover of the book is carrying an ecstatic look & the beautiful color shades combining the eye catching background around the couple, is a treat for the eyes. It goes aptly with the content & theme, so I can say that a really appreciable job done by the cover designer.
Title: The title of the book is good & simple, because it is just a name only but the subtitle enhanced the significance of this title and it will make the reader curious to know about the story in detail, because when the word ‘Love’ comes into the picture then there must be a story to know about. After going through the content of the book, I can say that the title is accurate & appropriate as well.
Language & narration: Language of the book is lucid & simple enough to comprehend and I noticed the uses of some potentially much good words while ornamenting sentences. It caught my attention because I always prefer to look for words that can enhance the gravity of the line. Narrating the scenes one after another & balancing the phases between two different times of past & present are well evident in the narrating style of the author. Especially, the emotions & the scenario are enough clear to make the journey visualize for the reader so that they can just not only read the story but live the journey also. Narrating the events through diary page entries is a clever move from the authoress I must say; because this particular genre demands uninterrupted attention & who could do this better than the diary of a lover?
Plot: The plot of this story is deep & the best part of this plot is that it is being twisted with several sub plots to refrain the story from being monotonous. Not just only the love life of the protagonist, but the friendship bonding too complementing equally in the significance of the book. Author has put in her maximum efforts to keep the flow of the story intact & I can say that she has succeeded as well. A well developed story this one is.
Setting: The story sets in mainly Shimla & Lucknow, but there are some other places that this journey covers from starting to the end; like- Mumbai, Pune, Ahmadabad & Germany.
Characterization: Crystal clear characterization can surely be considered as the most positive point of this book. Portrayal of the characters & putting life into them through deep emotions at right places made the book a pleasant read. Actually, the characters are well enough connecting to the reader and every character (be it the protagonist Meera or Aditya or any other character like Rohan, Priya) has been presented like people next door. Authoress Shipra never tried to put any extra quality into them thus they may look like highly supreme characters or anything; rather just keep them simple and straight made the characters easy to relate & they are well justified to their respective roles till the very end of the book. Especially I would like to mention that the character of Shikha & Rohan caught my attention even more than the male protagonist Aditya. Let’s have a look at the names of the characters mentioned in the book and they are- Aarna, Uday, Meera, Aditya, Mr. R.Subramaniam, Priya, Shikha, Rohan, Amit, Nitin, Advit, Ramneet Guupta, Mr. Dayal.
Theme: Love, Romance, Friendship, Relationship bonding
Story in a nutshell: The story revolves around the life of a passionate soulful lover Meera & people around her surroundings. This story deals in the flashback memories of Meera’s love, life & journey. But the starting of the book is heart aching. Let’s dive in the book- A self dependent working young married Woman Aarna found herself broken & scattered into pieces when she got to know about the unfortunate & sudden demise of her loving mother Meera. Though her mother kept hidden about her deathly disease ‘Colon Cancer’ from her daughter but it was not the only fact about her that Aarna was unaware of. Yes, there was a lot awaiting Aarna to leave her thinking that she hardly knew her mother. Fighting with the void place inside her heart, when Aarna choose to clean her mother’s room & revisit her belongings, she came across an old notebook dated 30 years back, while cleaning the closet. She discovered the fact that the diary or journal belonged to her mother and she wrote it at the age of early 20s. While being curious she started turning the pages of that journal & found the most surprising fact that it contains the love life of her mother Meera. Aarna got to know that, her mother once crossed the path of a young, charming, handsome guy named Aditya, while her stay in Lucknow. Aditya was working in a bank she had fallen head over hills for this guy. Though their initial interaction was enough to realize their feelings for each other, but destiny kept them apart for more than years and finally when they got back in touch with each other, they accepted their feelings and their love life started. They were the picture perfect couple initially in their relationship & together they shared each & every moments of happiness, love & every part of their heart. Though everything was going smoothly, but that’s the irony of life- whenever you start predicting something, life has its own way to surprise you.
Aarna was getting impatient to know about this guy more & more because let alone seeing this man once, she never heard even a word about him from her mother & realized that her mother seldom shared things with her. She wondered what could have happened with these soulful lovers that they have to part their ways…and what she discovered from that diary…well…she was not prepared to face these new facts about her mother….
What happened to them? Why they parted ways…? Or…did they? If not, then why Aditya could not share his life with Meera & Aarna? What was the cause behind the divorce between Aarna’s parents? Was it Aditya? Or anything else will come out of the curtain? What was awaiting the destiny of these soulful lovers? Did they complete their journey by staying away from each other throughout whole life? Did Meera stop loving Aditya or vice versa? Was it possible for them to stay away or destiny decided some tough roads for them? When love becomes your breathing and you start to love more than allowed, then you have to prepare to face the consequences as well…because love…is not easy…it never was..
To get all your answers and to know the rest of the journey, grab this book up & walk along by Meera’s side…
My Verdict: Authoress Shipra Sinha Saxena has penned her heart out through this beautiful, heart touching, emotional saga of love, life & friendship… I completely loved reading each and every phase of their journey & I got myself connected instantly with the story & the way the author made the effort of putting things together & clearly painted the emotions and every shades of the heart, touched me completely. I lived this journey along with the characters and it was pleasant read for me. Author has shown the meaning of unconditional, eternal love & genuine pure bond of friendship at the same time. The love, innocence, passion, desire, humor, friendship, sacrifice, pain, dilemma, heart ache…everything has been portrayed here perfectly. Shika’s care & support for Meera, Rohan’s unrequited love for Meera, Meera’s cravings for Aditya- were heart touching. Author has put front the fact that true love is unconditional & it has nothing to do with the marital tag or anything. It only needs two hearts to complete each other, no matter whatever the situation is.... Sometimes…it all depends on the priority…what to hold on…and what to let go…
I will be looking forward to go through more works from the same authoress.
Drawbacks: Well…drawback in the sense, I have not found that much to make them specific, but yes, one thing I will definitely suggest that, at the initial stage, there were some place where lines or some words of lines got repeated in a while. Repeating words can affect the orientation of the sentences. So, it’d be better trying to avoid this thing & yes, a little checking in proper punctuation marks are also needed. Otherwise, the book is compact & perfect.
Recommendation: I’d definitely love to recommend this heart touching tale of love & friendship to each and every love readers, romance lovers out there. They will cherish this treat for sure. Thank you.
Rating (Overall): 5/5 Stars.

Genre : Fiction , Tragic Romance

Is it a love story ? One might say so. But in my opinion the book, Meera by Shipra Sinha Sakxena, brings forth a story of sacrifice for love. A girl who is so profoundly in love with a boy gives up her love for her parent's happiness, even though in her heart she knew that she could never fall in love again. It's a sacrifice of a girl who gave up hopes on her husband and raised her child by herself. The one who did not share her deep secrets and dreams with her daughter thinking it might pester her. It's about a girl who loved more than allowed.

When Aarna, who is struggling with her marriage, discovers a diary of her recently deceased mother, Meera. She comes to know a lot more about Meera than she has ever known in her whole life. Aarna comes to know about the aspirations and dreams of her mother. She comes to know about her true love with a guy named Aditya, of whom she hasn't told to anybody except few friends.

The story is quite gripping and leaves you a bit helpless because the chain of events happened thirty years ago and nothing can be done to undo it. But I think that was the intent of the writer. Shipra has done a good job keeping us engaged by revealing a surprise element in every other chapter of the book.

The tone of the writing is very compassionate and at times distressing too. Flow of the story is smooth and one will feel connected with the situation, specially a person born in the 90s. Love affair at that time was a big deal as compared to today not just due to the societal rejection but also due to the connectivity issues ! The character profile of each of the person was well articulated. This novel, Meera by Shipra Sinha Sakxena, was engaging and steady paced. I was able to read it in one sitting as I was drawn into the lives of Aditya and Meera. I specially liked the ending of the novel when Aarna decids to fight for her love like Meera did. It was empowering and a kind of peaceful feeling.

I enjoyed the story, but I feel the author could have spent a little more time on elaborating the jumps in the story like the moment when Aditya and Meera decide to be friends even when Meera gets engaged to Advit, the next conversation that happens is after 6 months. Few instances like these felt like there was a disconnect. And what's with not leaving for Pune to visit her husband. There were few more unanswered questions throughout the book. I feel this issue would have easily resolved if the story was given more time. In haste the novel might not attain the attention that this plot deserved. On a personal front I really don't believe in things like love at first sight or together for eternity. Maybe in some parallel universe I might. But still the novel is great one time read.

Recommended to :
I would recommend this book to be read by anybody looking for a quick read or for a tragic love story. The vocab used by Shipra is quite notable. This along with the strong paraphrasing at many places makes it a riveting read.

Meera is a love story of Meera which her daughter gets to know about through her Journal. Its that face of Meera which Aarna (daughter) was not aware of.
Meera has been described remarkably. One can relate to her character. Writer is not building a dreamland and imaginary things, but writing the reality and I loved it. Life is full of fight and you have to stand for yourself.
The novel is in the form of personal journal entry. As you start reading, it start’s building a curiosity. You want to know what s next with every page u finish.
The relationships and chaos of it is beautifully described. The places have been narrated at its best. Language used is simple and vocabulary is commendable.
This book has some wow moments and some moments where you just want to seat with a bucket of ice cream and cry your heart out.
The whole chapter 13 is my favourite. Written v beautifully.
What I loved in this book?
Theme: The point of perception from the different point of view solves most of the misery. (I.e. how Arana’s point of reading journal changes that of mothers to a girl who was in love)
Quotes:-
“Love is not love which alters when it alteration finds.”
“Love is a strange thing. You may not have seen someone in ages, but at the same time, you never stopped loving them.”
“People will seldom believe that a dream can have that kind of an unwavering effect on them, but you won’t know anything about that dream unless you have it one day and then the world around you changes forever.”
“In a moment, it’s crystal clear. That one person is most vital to your very cheerful existence. You didn’t know this, but the real you, inside you, knew it all along.”
“I had never known what it felt like to belong to someone, and now when I did belong to him, I could think of nothing else but him all day long.”
“The moment he would hold me, I might break into pieces would have his name engraved on it.”
“If someone has never experienced love in their life, they are not half as unfortunate as the one who has not known or cherished friendship in his life.”
“It’s strange how love and friendship blossom in the strangest of places and among the most unsuspecting of men.”
“Naming a particular relation doesn’t make it beautiful or ugly. It will always be what it is.”
“Don’t cross oceans for someone who is not willing to jump the puddle for you. “
“I knew life without him would be a mistake.”
Story: As the tag line says Love more than allowed – This book teaches you that. Impressive writing.
Characters: Rohan one of my favourite character “every girl should have a friend like him”, in words of Meera.
What I did not like?
I wanted to read more about Aditiya, his part of story and charcter.
Verdict: I would recommend it to all the romance lovers. No matter what age group they belong can read it definitely. It’s seriously a beautiful book can surely give it a try.

Starting from the cover couple holding hands in autumn season where leaves are falling. It's really beautiful and eye catchy. Title of the novel "Meera" is the name of protagonist of the story and the sub title Love More Than Allowed gives the hint it's about a love story and the reader shall pick the book up just after looking at it once, the blurb as compared to the story gives an apt just of the entire story.

The book is a bag of emotions, love, sacrifice, true friendship, struggles, compromises, first love, promises, betrayal, fear, family bonding, affection, care, understanding, fun, passionate, selfless, eagerness, hope, pain, sweet memories, independent women, and many more.

This is the story about main protagonist Meera. Aarna is struggling with her marriage has no idea that her mom Meera was suffering from cancer until her death. After the death of Meera, when Aarna cleans her room and find's her mother's journal written some thirty three years ago. Aarna comes to know more about real Meera which she was unaware. Meera was in deep love with Aditiya but destiny turns to break them because of inter caste and married with Advit. And later things not worked in married life with Advit they got separated. Shikha and Rohan stands with her in her tough time. This book is a good read with many interesting twists and turns. A mother daughter relationship is so beautifully penned down.

But Why Aditiya and Meera separated?
What happened to Meera's married life with Advit?
Do Aarna will safe her love and give it a second chance?
To know more read the book.

Language of the book is lucid and written in a simple way to comprehend for any kind of reader. Words flow smoothly and emotions find expression thus making the book a veritable treat.  Narration of the novel is simple and really nice. The pace is perfect fast and smooth. The author has portrayed each and every character with utmost significance of their own and every one of them has done justice to their respective roles throughout the story. The every scene and all character are well crafted that you can actually get images of them in your mind. With every turning page the curiosity to read further keeps on increasing.

"Love is not love which alters when it alternation finds."

"Love is a strange thing. You may not have seen someone in ages, but at the same time, you never stopped loving them."

I would like to recommend this book to all readers to know more about pure love.

First off, I express my heartfelt gratitude towards the author Shipra Sinha Sakxena for giving me the opportunity to review such a wonderful story of love.

By the face value, Meera : Love More Than Allowed is a story of two star-crossed lovers and how they struggle to keep their bond of love away from disintegration. However, I inferred that the story has a lot more to convey than just love.

The story is a first-person narrative, from the point of view of the titular character, the lead female protagonist Meera. The book is structured mostly into an epistolary novel consisting of diary entries; and this is what is most astonishing about the book — keeping in mind that the character Meera is jotting down her day-to-day experiences as well as her thoughts and feelings, the author has written the diary entries as realistically as possible. Another striking feature of the book, which makes it quite unique, is the way it handles the idea of subjectivity. Each page of the book brims with the deepest thoughts and emotions of Meera, a skill that requires brilliance and undivided attention. If I were to put this poetically, I’d remark, “Meera : Love More Than Allowed is like a beehive, overflowing with sweet honey.” It is exactly in this manner than the emotions of the lead female protagonist is beautifully expressed. There are numerous quotations that are truly unforgettable.
Besides the fact that the few initial stages of the plot were predictable to some extent, the author was successful in anchoring the reader’s attention till the end of the book.

After I finished reading the book, I realised that Meera : Love More Than Allowed is indeed an inspiration to all kinds of people This marvellous book stands testimony to the fact that there in always hope, and it is up to us to fight for what we love, whether it is our beloved, our family, or our career. A story of love-friendship-family-hope which is mostly retrospective, the message conveyed is universal and beyond time itself.

This is one of very few books that I shall carry in my heart forever.

Blurb: Have you ever loved someone so much and had a break up because he/she does not belong to your caste or because your family is more important to you than your love and so you have choosen career over love.
If you had such kinda love story in your past I'm sure you can relate to the story of Meera- love more than allowed.

Title: The title is apt to the story. And it describes the main protogonist of the book. The tag line love more than allowed describes about the deeper and darker secrets of Meera.

Cover: The cover is beautifully picturised
It has the scenary of Monsoon season with a girl and boy holding their hands which depicts that they are enjoying the essence of love.

Story: Aarna the daughter of Meera finds a dairy of her dead mother where she mentioned everything about her past life.
Meera the main protogonist of the book loved Aditya. They loved each other so much and decided to live together for rest of the life. Things were going pretty well untill Meera's mother came to know about her love and bursted her words that Meera is not allowed to marry him because he is not of their caste. And here comes a turn, soon Meera and Aditya realised them selves that they can't make their parents agree to their marraige. So Aditya had choosen career over love and married to a another girl, where as Meera had married to a guy named Uday to satisfy their parents and make them happy.
What happened to Meera after her marraige?
Was Meera happy with Uday??
What happened to Meera after her break up? Grab your copy to know about the story in detail.
Narration and characters: Shipra sinha sakxena the author of the story had narrated Meera to her best. The story is full of emotions, love , sacrifice , true friendship and ofcourse family bonding.
The well potrayal of characters in story makes you guess the next scene and keeps you in line without confusion

Language : Author used the simple and lucid language with less grammatical errors which every one can understand easily
I recommend this book to everyone..worth a penny book.

Most of all she knew how it felt to forget and let go of someone you love. Like unlearning something you have learned by heart – it’s impossible”
The bestest I could sum up the whole story was by writing the above lines from the very same book.

Every heart holds some untold stories, some are worth sharing while other are just confined to the heart itself. In this book also Meera the main protagonist hides some of the secrets of her love life from her only daughter Aarna, but destiny unfolds these secrets in front of her , when her mother leaves this world because of her cancer. She finds her mother’s journal which carries secrets that were buried inside her mother’s heart.

Meera fell in love with Aditya in the very first sight and same was the case with Aditya, but then destiny plays its card and both fall into the hands of circumstances and had to marry different people. But wait, this is not the end…. After being apart from each other, there’s still that spark in their heart for each other and as love knows no boundaries, they again start keeping in touch with one other and finally the destiny separates them apart by death only. There are times when we have no control over situations, and one of such situation is “love”, love happens at very unexpected of the moment and leaves when we are least prepared for it. This story very well defines the helpless condition of people who are in love but can’t be together because of certain compulsions. I just loved reading this book and completed in just 4 hours straight. The writing style is the thing which has made the book much more readable, the characters so well fall into their place, narration and language was just worth complimenting. The book cover and book title just fits with the story. Overall a really good read. Would like to recommend to all those who want to read something on true love, friendship and sacrifice.

I would happily give it a 5 🌟 rating

I really love this book. Best story I've ever read. It perfectly matches with my personal life.

When I started to read, I was in the position of Aarna. Aarna is a daughter of Meera and she is married to Uday. But due to some personal problems, Aarna was lived with her mother(meera). One day meera died because of having cancer.
Meera is a girl who loves to be an independent woman but hates to be alone. But Her situtation makes her to lead a life alone. While she was to be worked in a job, she stayed in hotel. No one is there for her to make her happy or to console her while she faces tough times. At that time, "Adithya" entered in her life. She is so happy to met him. They fall in love with each other. But again thier situtation makes them to separated.

After some struggles, they get married with different persons. Adithya married to another girl and Meera married another boy. After some years, Aarna was born to meera. But Aarna was brought up with her mother and she is not live with her father.

What happened to 'Adithya'? why they didn't marry? Why Aarna was not living with her father?? Was meera lived her life happily??

To find Answer for these questions, you have to just read "MEERA".

In my point, This is just An excellent book. I just fall in love with the girl, "Meera". Every girl may faced these struggles in her life like meera faced.

So you can easily involved with this book and you can understood the pain of her too.

I've rated this for 5/5. Because I know, this book and it's author Shipra deserves this.

As I would like to think of the book, Meera by Shipra Sinha Saxena delivers an account of forfeit for adoration.

It is an account of a little girl far off from her mom like every one of us sometimes can be. This book has a decent story perused with numerous fascinating turns. It ends up unsurprisingly in some cases. The composing style is great. It’s for sure a decent book for light perusing, though that might not be the case for everyone. The perspectives in it have been communicated in an exceptionally clear manner which makes it a treat.

What genuinely charmed me was how it was told. I adored how it began. One can without much of a stretch interface with the story well. It has a grasp. The portrayal of the story is additionally great. It resembles a little girl perusing her mom’s story. The pace of the story is moderate and once in a while, the story gets philosophical. The rhythm of the story is also great. It’s about the torment that little girl experienced when she Loved more than she was permitted.

Meera can certainly be one of those books that will influence you to sit and ponder, about every one of the decisions that you have made, about the guarantees that weren’t kept, and about the adoration that was not intended to be. I must warn that it can be a wet ride on your eyes for some people too, so brace yourself while you read.

The story begins when Aarna after the heartbreaking death of her mother visits her home in order to clean it .In that process she finds out a journal that belonged to her mother. As she starts reading it she realizes that her mother was a person she never knew. Her whole life her mother talked very less about her life,it was always her speaking to her mother. She reads further and penetrates into the life of young Meera. Unlike many people Meera finds the love of her life at a very young age.She falls in love with Aditya,a man who made her feel like a princess. Aditya comforts her life and makes her a better person. But life was never fair to Meera. Their love had to pass many tests that destiny was to throw upon them.As Aarna reads the journal she explores her mother's life, her difficulties, her fight for love, her friendships and everything that she didn't know. Eventually as she closes the journal she understands the essence of true love and decides to give her love another chance.

The author has done a great job with the book. The title, cover and everything about the book is neat and pretty impressive.I think the author was very expressive throughout the book. The book had a nice thread,a good pace and also ended well.I really do love the printing quality.I recommend this book to everyone who wants to read a love story that is pure yet with a familial touch.

Cover: 4.5/5
Title: 5/5
Blurb: 4.5/5
Presentation: 4.5/5
Plot: 4.5/5

Final Rating: 4.5/5

The novel has a beautiful cover..Its very romantic picture of a Boy holding a Girl's hand..There is a tree on left side of the cover..and this cover reminds me of the Bollywood Movie "Mohabbatein".

The Title of the Novel is on the main character Meera's story. This Novel is about her life and people around her.

The novel is written beautifully weaving a lot of emotions like affection, care, friendship, love, and understanding.

The story begins with Aarna, who is the daughter of Meera. The story made me emotional. There were incidents where I felt the heaviness on my heart and I was crying.

The novel is about an diary of her mother which Aarna discovers, in which everything was mentioned.

All the characters were written so beautifully and lively which you can relate with. The narration and the language used in story made the plot interesting.

All in all, I am impressed by the author's ability to make everything fall in place and create a masterpiece. It was an amazing novel.
Thank you for your review.

Meera - love more than allowed

Cover is beautiful & has been well designed.

Title is catchy, apt & goes with the book in hand.

Theme talks about emotions, sentiments, feelings, love, sacrifice, friendship, struggles, love, promise, betrayal, fear, family bonding, affection, attachment, care, understanding, fun, passionate, selfless, eagerness, hope, pain, memories & many other aspects which have been woven selflessly!

I won't talk about the book, neither will I disclose or discuss anything from the story. All I would say is its a love story with lots of painful twists. The ephemeral created in the reader's heart which reading this book is truly heartbreakingly painful.
A powerful portrayal of emotions, written poignantly which covers the effervescence of all succulent emotions.
The epiphany which dwells in the reader's mind is worth commendable!

Language is simple, good & easy to understand. I wish it could have been better. Narration is okay. A good book to read!

It happens extremely rarely that you come across a book, which portrays the turmoil in the human mind in such simplicity and raw form. Meera, definitely is one of those books that will make you sit and wonder, about all the choices that you have made, about the promises that weren’t kept, and about the love that was not meant to be. We are transformed into a story that took place in the life of a young woman, seen through the eyes of her daughter, from the pages of thirty year old diary and we see the hardships, the confusion, the overload of feelings that she goes through and we embark on a journey that she took, the fights she fought, the pain she went through, for her love was more than allowed.

Meera
What I liked in the book
>Best line from book "there is no greater joy in the world than confessing you love to that someone".
>It is a love story although 90's when love and friendship used to be difficult things; but here definition of love was defined differently. A daughter aarna reads the story of her mother. She realises how her mother had her life. Her love and what did she sacrifices etc.
>The best message from the book is if your children are happy with your past you are the best parents.

What I didn't like.
> Author would have done more work on story for the perfect peace. Narration was slightly dimm
> Sometimes at someplace story was predictable.
Over all a good read.
Title and cover are synchronizing with story.

A wonderful novel. Aarna who finds out a journey of her mother after her, death finds out a lot more about her mother. That is when she understood that she have never
Known her mother her entire life.

It was always about Aarna that Meera had ever talked. Aarna felt bad that she never intended in knowing more about her mother or what have happened in her mothers past. She finds out about a few people she had no idea that were a huge part of her mother's. She discovers about her mother's lost love and how she sacrificed everything for Aarna.

The best book I've read in a while from an Indian author.❤️

CRY TILL THE END

Well i flew threw the book within a night ! And i remember being at page nine when i started sobbing and then i never stopped .The book certainly hita at a very personal spot. How less uh knoe ur family.. how less uh spend time with them . The message of being in love and fighting for it was strong . Though i would certainly prefer the relation of daughter and mom and how lovely it was displayed in the book. Also somewhere the book sounded very repeatitive like i had to say ^ya i knoe tat part ^ plz tell me something new . Though i loved the plot and it was far more the most crying book i read in a while 💕 Writting was better as for a debut novel!

I loved the book. The best part about the book is the journaling content which has clearly described the hidden stories of Meera and catched the attention of the reader. The story is of the Aarna whose marriage is in the doldrum and death of her mother gets her hands on her mother's diary which was written 30-32 years ago. The whole diary is beautifully carved with many memories; love, fun, passionate, selfless, eagerness, hurt, pain, difficult and many. And the whole diary story has clearly picturise the tag of the book, "Love was never easy and if it was, it wasn't love."

The book is named after the female protagonist's dead mother, "Meera". There could have been a better title, but this one suits the story too.

The cover displays a picture of the autumn season where leaves are falling. It also shows a couple holding hands. It perfectly depicts that their might be a love story between the covers.

The sudden death of Aarna's mother shakes her to such an extent that she looses the zeal to save her breaking marriage. She is completely heartbroken when she finds her dead mother's diary which had been written around 33 years ago. The diary mentions how she had met someone whom she fell in love with at first sight. What Aarna reads thereafter is entirely a fairly tale. The story in the diary mentions a young girl, around 20 years old who is head over heels in love with the man of her dreams. The love story has passion ans selflessness in it.

Does the budding love story ever get to see the bright sunshine of the day or is it crust by the demonic reality called life? Is love always enough? Does togetherness alone define love or is separation a part of it too?

See how Aarna faces the truth about her mother the mystery man.

The book has been written very well. It makes the book a very simple and flawless for a reader.

The narration was gripping and fluent.

It is a story of a daughter distant from her mother like all of us generally are. That is somewhat because our mothers want to protect us from the pain they themselves have suffered someday.
Aarna too was a girl who knew nothing about her mother, Meera. The story starts with the death of Meera and Aarna finding her mothers old journal. Upon reading it, she finds out about the challenges faced by Meera in her youth. How she had moved to Shimla for a job, how she was assaulted by her boss, how she was lonely but got through the worst of times with the help of her friends and one person who she loved more than life itself. She had met that person randomly at a bank in Lucknow, her hometown. It's funny how sometimes strangers, due the course of time, can mean so much to us. Aarna gets to know about how Meeras heart belonged to that stranger, Aditya. She was heartbroken when she found out that Meeras' stubborn parents, for momentary happiness destroyed and spoilt Meera s life. They had forced Meera to not marry the love of her life, Aditya, instead, marry Advit. They went on telling Meera how Aditya was wrong for her. Alas, was Advit a perfect husband? Not at all. He was not even an average husband. He abandoned Meera after marriage in Lucknow and went on to live alone in Pune. He bought a house in Pune and paid it off through Meeras salary. He was regardless of Meeras pregnancy and forced her to work all through her pregnancy. Alone. He always had excuses each time Meera asked Advit to let her and their daughter move in with him. When Meera had had enough of Advits non-sense, she fought with her husband saying that their four-year-old daughter needed her father. Advit paid no heed and instead divorced Meera. Leaving Meera alone with Aarna. Advit had married her just to use her. Both financially and physically. They had spent no time together at all. And whose fault for we that? Meera's parents. They hadn't realized what their pressure and decisions had cost Meera. She often spent her days alone and nights lonely, crying.
However, love finds a way. Meera and Aditya loved each other dearly and spoke to each other on major life events.
Aarna got know about the end of Aditya and Meera s live story through Meeras old friends-Shikha and Rohan. Aarna heaved a sigh of relief when she found out that Meera nursed Aditya on his deathbed. She was glad that they had spent at least their parting days together, if not their whole life.

This book is a good read with many interesting twist s and turns. It becomes predictable sometimes. It teaches us a lot through Meeras journals. It becomes philosophical at times, which I feel was put as Meera, at the back of her mind, knew that someday someone (probably her daughter) would read her diary. Her thoughts and philosophical teachings which were written would be a way of how a secretive mother passes her teachings to her daughter even after she's dead.

I wanted to read an emotional read. And this one was absolutely perfect for me. I just loved every bit of it. A mother-daughter relationship is something so special and writing about it is not so easy. I am in love with the story of this book. I cried, and that's why I loved the most. I read e-book, now I want to have a paperback of it. Great book. Just loved it
