VOLUME ONE OF PURPOSE. Unlike her two best friends, Kuya is not too great at anything, nor too bad. From focusing on her studies, to working at her Dad’s mechanical shop, and cheering on her friends’ aspirations, her routine had always kept her content. However, what happens when Kuya faces an activity in class that questioned her life’s purpose? Along with struggling to find an answer, how does Kuya react when she is blamed for ripping away her best friend’s purpose? Begin to follow this 17-year-old high school girl as she learns more about her family, friends, and herself!
This book is excellent for teens, as it is about three best friends and their lives. Their high school teacher want them to write what their “Purpose” in life is. At that age, I don’t think I could of do it, I had no idea. Today would be different. I feel this book would be a good learning experience on that note. If I remember correctly, being a teenage girl and part of a threesome of best friends, and yes I was a part of one, there are always bound to be one of the three made at another for some reason. But if your best friend stood in front of you to protect you from getting hurt and she got hurt instead, you would feel awful about it and apologize over and over again. Now if your friend being hurt caused her to miss out on a life changing opportunity because of being hurt, wouldn’t she blame you and want nothing to do with you? It happens all the time and as it happened in this story, it was like being back in high school all over again. Zafeer Alam also leaves you hanging at a very good part and you just want the next book. It doesn’t matter if your not in high school any more, because you do remember those days and how these girls felt. How you supposed a friends talent, cheered on your best friend in sports and the first time a boy asked you your name. Yes, this book just about covers all ages from the 9th grade up to my age, a 57 Grandma and beyond. I really enjoyed reading this book and look forward to more to come.
