I purchased this book at the book launch event and the founder of the organization is a friend (but I did buy the book). My copy is one of the first 200 copies printed.
It is a very useful and inspiring work - not a book you read cover to cover (though I have), but one that you can reference and then follow the many links and references to learn more about innovative and creative projects as well as regulations and government efforts around the world. The entries are all written by different people and do suffer from varying levels of detail and metrics - so comparing one program described to another, even in the same broad section is challenging. But as a work of inspiration as well as reference that over time (at least the digital and online versions) will get better it is invaluable.
The work is intentionally licensed to be shareable - in the broadest form is has 11 chapters covering Housing, Mobility, Food, Work, Energy, Land, Waste, Water, Technology, Finance, and finally Governance (though each of the earlier chapters also has a section devoted to government efforts in the area. In each section projects, organizations, or government efforts related to broad chapter topic and looked at from the framework of how people are building sharing institutions and infrastructure are described in detail usually with reference links for sources as well as further information.
