Lin Feng travelled through worlds and even obtained an overpowered system, but he still faces a pressure as huge as a mountain.
System's main quest: Lin Feng is to create a school; establish history’s number 1 sect and Lin Feng himself to become the number 1 founder.
To become history’s number 1 founder, Lin Feng started to work hard.
“Your name is Shi Tianhao? Natural born sovereign roots but it was stolen by your cousin? Now being raised in a little village your father placed you in? Come come come, follow your master and we’ll let those people know that justice that is owed must be returned!”
“Your name is Xiao Yan? A genius of the past but a loser now? Even your fiance came over to humiliate you by asking for a divorce? Come come come, follow your master and we’ll let that brat know the meaning of: don’t bully a youngster just because he’s poor!”
“Your name is Zhu Yi? The son of a marquis but you’re being suppressed by your father? Your mother was a saint but she was assassinated? Come come come, follow your master and we’ll let your dad know the meaning how problems can be solved with your fists...no, with reasoning!"
The book is one of the first true sect-building xianxia stories I have read, which makes for an interesting premise when combined with the mc surrounding himself with main characters. However, the novel is unreadable because of how much filler content there is and how the relevant and interesting information is hidden in the filler, forcing you to read closely and be bored or skim and be lost and so be bored. Regrettable, since the premise was cool.
Writing: I seem to remember that there were yucky unedited or mtl-ed parts of the translation for a while. In addition, the entire translation was not of a very high standard.
Characters: 1/5 They started out interesting, but as the story dragged on people devolved into helping the mc blindly or plotting against him. The mc isn't interesting as a person either.
World: 1/5 sub-par, even for xianxia. The world is full of what seems like a bajillion sects that are constantly referenced and discussed, but I really don't care about it. The world is full of fluff, in other words. Adding bland sects doesn't make the world expansive. Also, in the writing there is no sense of geography other than the mc's mountain being close or far to certain countries and sects. The author tries, but it makes me feel inexplicably dead inside.
Story: 2/5 okay The filler kills it. Filler both in unnecessary descriptions of fights and conversations as well as meaningless story elements which really don't impact the mc. It doesn't help that most of the achievements in the story are due to luck. No matter what "blessed by heaven" or "high fortune values" excuse that is written in, the story is fundamentally unsatisfying.
I greatly regret spending so much time reading this. I would tell me of a couple weeks ago to quit this book in a heartbeat.
The translation is very good. Far better than any I read. Different words are used and situations are well described so that the reader gets the picture. Sorry is well connected and keeps you interested.
OP MC, good Background world with a lot of action... Who's not gonna like it? Also with good proportional humor.. Let's hope it's keep interesting all to the end coz sometimes , it's good at the beginning but become trash at the end...
Been following it for quite a while, and I don’t regret it. The period of time where it wasn’t being translated was saddening for me as a result, so I was happy to see it back, and to see the quality of both the translation and the story improve. Thank you author and translator <3
Have been following the story a while, i would to recommend this novel to people who want something different other than just mindless killing and looting
It started out exciting with a few unique scenarios and settings. Then, it got boring. The teen/pre-teen characters had attitude issues making them very interesting. I like the smart mouth protagonist who embarrasses the nobles and beats stronger opponents with innovative moves and cheats leaving them to constantly be cautious, always wondering about his true power. I made it past the 900th chapter and could not go on because of the monotony. I dropped it and picked it up again after a week, but, could not find too much beyond repetitive fighting for the sake of building chapter length. It lost all appeal by chapter 947. I don’t regret starting it. I regret sticking to it for so many chapters hoping it would get better.
Very nice story that keeps you on the edge. MC is shameless which I like and lots of funny situations in the novel are the result of that shamelessness. On the other hand his recipes are mostly direct, honest and ***** guys. I wonder if that will change?
