The super sweet giant and the funny crazy lady!
This book had a little bit of everything. It had sexiness, sweetness, suspense, fun, family drama, grief. And it was adorable and light to read. It was relaxing and didnt get overwhelmed.
This is a standalone, that is also a part of the Cake Love series, starring Aria and Alex. We've seen Aria before, as she is Morgana's best friend (Rules of Payne) and a new great friend of Evaleen (The Attraction File).
In this book, we could see more of other secondary characters, as Tiffany, Jagger and Grace, and it was great to see them grow in the plot, they are great. As I already know (and it's part of the series), the next book, The Spy Ring, is about Tiffany and Jagger (loved it!). I would also love to see a book for Grace!
But now, my whole love goes for Aria and Alex. They seem like opposite, but they have a lot in common. Both coming from crazy messed up family, familiar with tragedy and learning how to break free from sick strings.
They bloomed, and it was wonderful to watch.
One think that I really loved was Alex peculiarity. I can't say a lot without spoilering, but there is something about this hero, a fact from him, that was totally new to me on a book, and it was so adorable.
"'You are more beautiful than air.'
'Air? You can't see air, Alex.'
'No, but I can feel it. It feeds me. Without it I couldn't live.'"
He was loving, caring, so dang cute. And as he fought for his freedom, Aria, being more experienced in life and lived more, was there to help push him to the right way.
She's seen and lived some horrific things herself, so the same way she extended her hand to Alex, he was always there to help her keep stood up.
"'You get everything, Aria. I want to give you the breath from my mouth, the strengh from my fingers, and the heart of my soul. Tight now, the only way I know how to do that is to give you what I have never given anyone.'
'Anything you give me, Alex, will be better than what I have ever had. It already has been.'"
They were both wary (resonably) for so many things, but they still found a way to give wings to their feelings. They gave love, freedom, trust, a shoulder to lean on. They gave forever on their crazy journey!
"Your heart is too precious for some wild fling. I want more. I want the wild ridethat never ends."

“Firm and long, just how I like it,” I said as I pushed it past my lips. “Mmm. It’s sweet too. Uh, it’s dripping. Better lick that up.” My tongue flicked at the tip to draw the sweet cream into my mouth.
I sucked on the cannoli as I stared at Alex. He wouldn’t look at me. For the past fifteen minutes, we had been eating in his huge dining room. Me on one end of a massive, rectangular, dark wooden table and him at the other.
Alex had his head down, staring at his food as he ate. I pulled the pastry out of my mouth and placed it back on the white china dessert plate.
“I’m sorry, Alex. There, are you happy? That’s the third time I had to apologize for misjudging you.”
He lifted his head. “Here’s an idea, Aria, why don’t you stop judging people? Maybe, and I get this may be a novel concept for you, but maybe take the time to get to know them.”
I clenched my jaw, pissed at him. Here I was trying to make amends and he had to rub my nose in it.
“Some of us don’t have the luxury of getting to know men. Some of us have to do what we can to protect the people we love before we get to know strangers,” I said and immediately wish I hadn’t.
Alex raised his head even farther, sitting at his full height. I surprised him. I didn’t mean to, but he seemed to know how to push my buttons.
I wish he had accepted my apology and moved on, or just kicked me out. Anything but the curious eyes of a recluse.
“Why would getting to know someone be a luxury? You appear to have friends, Aria. Tiffany and those two women from a few weeks ago, Morgana and Evaleen. You must have taken the time to get to know them?”
I took a bite of the cannoli. No point in pretending to give it a blow job anymore to get Alex’s attention. I got it, and now I wish he would stare at his food again.
“That’s different,” I said after I swallowed the dessert.
“How is that different? Are they robots? Do they not count as people?”
Taking the napkin, I wiped my mouth before leaning back against the chair.
“What about you, Alex? Or should I call you Mr. Recluse?”
Alex pushed back his chair and walked over. I tried not to stare at his very worn and very fitted sweat pants but the closer he got, the more I focused on what I shouldn’t.
My eyes became level with his as he sat in the seat next to me. “I wasn’t talking about me. I was asking about you.”
“If you get to ask about me, then I should get to ask about you.” I raised my eyebrow.
The corner of his lip ticked up and he nodded. “On one condition.”
“You have to take your clothes off,” I said.
“What? No.”
“I have to take my clothes off?”
“No. That’s not what . . . uh, not unless . . .. I mean no,” he said as his Adam’s apple bobbed up and down his neck.
“We both have to take off—”
“Aria, there will be no nakedness.” Alex waved his hands at me.
“Fine, but this sounds kind of boring to me.” I rolled my eyes.
“You were the one to suggest the questions to begin with.”
I shrugged. “I figured you would turn it into a drinking game that required us to remove a piece of clothing for every question answered, or a non-drinking game that required us to remove a piece of clothing for every question.”
“You sure do like to get naked.” He laughed and it was the sexiest thing in the world.

This book is a good example of why you don’t give up on an author just because you didn’t like the first two books in a series. If we deserve a second chance shouldn’t an author get the same?
Aria Dixon just wants to thank someone. Alexander “Alex” Hawthorne got an interesting dressing down. These two characters show that you can be total opposites but still find a way to like each other. Alex is a man who has not been able to live like he wants to and Aria came into his life at the perfect time.
One interesting scene was watching Alex dig himself into a hole and it gets better when watching him try to get himself out. But then you get that light bulb moment and you start to feel sorry for him. This was what I was hoping for in Rules of Payne. But what’s good for you is that if you haven’t read it yet, you can come right here because this is most definitely a standalone. This was a story that grabbed my attention and if I had to put it down I looked forward to the time when I could pick it up again.
Just don’t expect a lot of steam. It’s more of a slow burn – nothing wrong with that. But our author has given us some complex characters here and it’s interesting to watch as the layers peel away so that we can see what’s underneath. I wanted to get to know them and what makes them tick. We also get a character that’s very easy to hate. But you have to like her too because she helps to move the scenes along. It’s a quirky story too because you just never know what these two are going to do or say. I was more than satisfied when I got to the end.

This was definitely a wild ride that made me dizzy and confused quite a lot,,, but in a good way. This book had me guessing different outcomes all the way through even right up until the end I was still second guessing what was going to happen. The plot was brilliantly written and I really didn't know which character to trust !
Aria Dixon was a talented artist who had just made it by selling her art to a crazy , recluse called Alexander Hawthorne. Being the strong character that Aria was she wanted to meet the mysterious Alexander Hawthorne for herself, little did she know that this meeting was going to end up spinning her life around !!
Alexander Hawthorne's life was ran by his mother, he couldn't do anything without her input, she knew everything and there was no escaping this! She was a woman of power and he knew she wasn't one to mess with especially as he doesn't know who is there to help or hinder him. Meeting Aria gives him a new lease of life but who can he trust and can he stand up to his mother for the love of his life.
This book is absolutely full to the brim of everything you can want in a book. Deceit, lies, truths, danger and so much corruption all along with a love story thrown into the mix. I wasn't aware this was book 3 of the series so it can read as a stand alone. I was gripped and I'm sure you will be too !

I loved book one and two and had high expectations to this one. And I was not disappointed..
Meet Aria Dixon, she´s a talented artist, a free spirit. Her art speaks to your soul.
And then is there Alexander Hawthorne. He´s a wealthy recluse who lives under the thumb of his overbearing mother. A mother who´s hell bent to controlling every aspect of his live.
And then the unthinkable happens, Alexander falls in love with a painting - without knowledge who´s the artist. Now he´s determined to escape his mother´s clutches.
Both have this crazy insta chemistry, they " get " each other. But psycho mom has her own plans.
Alexander and Aria are good people with good intentions who got a wrench thrown their way. Only true love can give a beautiful and well deserved HEA.
Just like the other books in thes eries, One Wild Ride is a well written story with great characters and a unique story. I greatly enjoyed this book and give wonderful 4,5 stars.

Can I just say I love, love, One Wild Ride. The book lives up to it's title and will take you on a ride. Just as previous books in the Cake Love series you'll be laughing you booty off with the ladies of SWIM meets antics. But not only do you get the laughs you also get the what the heck is this lady for real. Aria is a free spirit who meets recluse Alexander. You can't help but hope for the best with these two. Sparks fly and holy moly you can't help but feel the sexual tension between these them. When you add in the twist of controlling mommy dearest and what follows once the story unravels you are in for a heck of a wild ride. One Wild Ride is amazing and filled with secrets, twists and a recluse billionaire finally seeing the light when he meets his one. Aria and Alexander you just wait because you will love them so much. This Cake Love series just keeps getting better and better and I need Tiffany's story now. Elizabeth Lynx does a fabulous job of romcom with a twist.

One Wild Ride was a good story and Elizabeth Lynx did a great job writing it.
A. "Alex" Hawthorne has been attracted to Aria for three years and Aria is instantly attracted to him as soon as she sees him. I liked how all of Aria's girlfriends are there for her.
I thought the beginning of the book was scary but humorous at the same time. I adored the reason that Alex doesn't pursue his attraction towards Aria, it was very sweet and loving. He ends up hiring her to paint a mural in his bedroom. I didn't like his mom because she kept trying to come in the middle of them. Even Bradly his security guard/cousin tries coming between them. There are some interesting characters in the story, that's for sure.
This is the third book of The Cake Love Series that I have read and although I did enjoy it, I felt it was just lacking some focus on the storyline. However, I look forward to reading more.

One Wild Ride by Elizabeth Lynx certainly lived up to its title. This was one heck of a ride that Aria and Alexander took us on. This is the third full length standalone in the Cake Love series of books and just like Rules of Payne and The Attraction File, it will have you spontaneously snort laughing at some of the antics these two get up to.
Aria is a free-spirited, loving girl and Alexander is… not. He’s shy and reclusive, but even so, the sparks flew the instant they met. The sexual tension and chemistry just burned right through my kindle.

I enjoyed this much more than the previous two books in this series. Lynx has covered all her bases here with complex characters, good plot developments, and romance that keeps you hooked. I will say it's not necessarily super wild as the romance really builds throughout. But there are some good moments in here that make you think and will have you stick to the end!

This deserves 7 stars- I couldn't stop laughing, gasping, and fanning myself as I read this book. Who would have guessed breaking into someone's building would lead to so serious laughs and hotness? Aria and Alexander meet under less than ideal circumstances and not only do sparks fly but secrets, twists and turns are plentiful. Thank you for allowing me to read this and write about it.

Elizabeth Lynx never disappoints and this story was amazing. Trust me this book lives up to the title... One Wild Ride, cause it takes you for a wild ride and I loved every second of it. This is part of the cake love series but can be read as a standalone...

This story has potential, but NONE was used.....the story was chopy, confusing & so unbelievable I kept rolling my eyes.

Aria and her friends sneak into the basement of the Art Collector and recluse Alexander Hawthorne. Two men found them and then Aria told them why they were there. Aria wanted to meet him Mr. Hawthorne for buying her paintings. Aria was talking to Alexander but he started to fumble and somewhat insulted her. Alexander was standing behind Aria talking about a Picasso and he was so close that he wanted to just lean over and bite her. At that moment the door opens and her friends walk in spoiling the moment. Alexander wanted her for the last three years since he saw her at the gallery. Alex comes to see Aria when she was at the restaurant with her friends. Alex asked Aria to leave with her and runaway but, his mother shows up and tells Alex that Aria is already married. Alex and Aria were sneaking around but somehow his mother would find us. We found out that my apartment was bugged and so was his even down to his bedroom. The two of them were at her parents house when Alex’s mother come in to talk to Alex. Aria hears part of the conversation that he would be going to Las Vegas. Aria could not believe that he was going to marry Alexa. Her friends had other plans. Aria goes to find Alex before his intended wedding she gets the note supposedly that Alex wrote to her about him wanting to marry Alexa. Alex was in Las Vegas in a room and the next thing that happens because almost like a tragic comedy. They both were kidnapped and then found themselves in different rooms.
Alex’s mother told her what would happen and that Alex will be marrying Alexa no matter what happens. Aria couldn't believe what was happening so she went with the flow and even decided to join his mothers team. Alex hears what’s going on and that Aria said she didn't want to marry him. Major twists, and some humor makes this a great read.

Aria Dixon is a free spirted artist who painting speak from her soul. She lives being with men but only one night then shes gone. When she sneaks into an apartment for some info she discovers that whoever lives here knows her very well. Alexander Hawthorne is a recluse under his mother thumb she kerps him locked up inside a guided cage. But when he see Aria art he has to have it as it speaks to him. He wants the artist and finally wants to break free. This is definitely a slow burn but this book is complex and funny with suspense and screts. A fabulous read with quite the mommy dearest!

Oh boy Aria I knew Aria was a bit quirky and wild but boy does she know how to choose a guy to fall for, Alexander Hawthorne is a mysterious billionaire who is nothing like what she expected. Even though they like each other like really really like each other Alex's mother tries to interfere in every way she can no matter how insane it is. We see her slowly lose her control over Alex but the pressure on Aria not only because of how Alex's mother is but with the lengths she will go to could be too much!

Although there were some aspects in this book that left me giggling. Throughout my whole read I had to put the book down and take breaks. Another great addition to a series I love. Smart, sexy with twists and turns I never saw coming. Alexander “hypno eyes” is a fantastic character. Not what I was expecting, but a great balance to Aria. I don’t know how Elizabeth Lynx gives such a deep subject for her characters back stories, but there’s always a realness to their baggage. It isn’t all sex and fluff. But, the sex, is always HOT! Alexander is magnificent and the two are smoking. Aria’s story, wholly banana chips, that was a doozy! I fell in love with her quirkiness in Rules if Payne, and love her more after this wild ride, brilliant title and doesn’t skimp on the craziness! I’m buying my nails for Tiffany’s story!

Learned more about the villains than the heros.
Hard to follow storyline. Lots of characters, probably from previous books. Lots of subplots and unnecessary secretiveity.
I couldn't find a reason to like or care about any of the characters.

It was pretty boring and I didn't like main characters here. Alex is like 26 or 28, but he's still afraid of his mother and can't do anything without her approval, and I mean anything. The only thing he's allowed to do is buy art and nothing else. And, from the beginning, Aria makes some crazy assumptions about him, which made no sense to me.

This is a tamer story than I expected, not so much a "wild" ride. However, the differences in dialogue between the two protagonists were so subtle, at times it was hard to tell the man apart from the woman.
The first childhood flashback, I think, didn't nail down the complexity of the child's mind, but such complexity was captured in the second childhood flashback.

Aria is an artist and Alexander is a business man that is controlled by his MOTHER!! When Alexander falls for the art by Aria he needs to find her. These two have some hot sparks but there’s always a situation that can cause some problems. It is a wild ride for sure and won’t let you down.

It sure was a wild ride. I started the book thinking it was a hot chemistry romance and it ended up taking so many turns in suspense and thriller as well. Such a ride!
