Mail Ordered Bride

Rate this book
In the wilds of Alaska single women are few and far between. An online site to find the perfect bride seems ridiculous, but Stone is willing to give it a try.
As he looks at Carly’s pictures and reads her words, he’s convinced she’s the one.
He spends his nights imagining what it will be like to finally touch her, to sink inside and hear her cry out his name.
When she finally gets there she’ll be lucky if he doesn’t tie her to his bed.
Too bad the woman getting off the plane is not the one he agreed to marry.

I do enjoy a mail order bride story! This ended up working for me. If you enjoy a rough around the edges alpha and a sweet heroine, then you just might like this story.

-no cheating
-no ow/om drama whatsoever
-no violence of any nature
-virgin heroine and a hero who's sexual past isnt harped on (thank you very much)
-just ok epilogue that was 5 years out

Once upon a time, there was a woman impersonating her coworker and using her photos to chat with this Alaskan guy in an online dating site. Then, the guy and the woman struck a deal to meet and that he wants her to be his mail order bride.

Guess who's the heroine here? If you guessed the catfishing woman, then you're wrong. It's the innocent coworker.

So that's different.

Anyhow, I forgot how crazy possessive Jordan Marie's heroes are, so I'm an pleasantly surprised. I would love it though if it was 200 pages longer. You could squeeze so much slow burn outta this.

His Mail Order Bride de Jordan Marie

Argumento:

Stone has a great life and a beautiful home in the wilderness of Alaska. The only thing missing from his life is a woman to share it with. He wants someone he can come home to and build a family with, these are the things that would make his life complete. Stone knew the type of woman that he wanted, she would be a tall, because Stone is 6 feet 7! She would have blue eyes and blonde hair. When his co-workers suggested he join Single Alaskan Men, Stone took the plunge and found the perfect woman for him, Carly. She may not be exactly what he was looking for, but she was perfect for him and he couldn’t wait to start a new life with her.

Carly has been corresponding with Stone for months through letters, emails and texts. She arrives to start her new life, but she has secrets. Secrets she needs to confess to make everything right. Carly isn’t exactly who Stone thinks she is. Will her confessions ruin their relationship before it even gets started? Could they both start over and get to know one another? You are going to have to read this sweet and sexy romance to find out!

This was a quick read, but it had content that felt complete. I fell in love with Stone right along with Carly. He is the complete package, handsome, alpha, and sweet! Carly was sweet and has little life experience, but I felt she was perfect for Stone. I applaud her for taking such a huge step in moving to Alaska to start a new life!

Mail Ordered Bride is a great story full of heat, passion, and great feels! It is fast paced, oh so sexy and I couldn’t put it down. The only down side is I wanted more of Stone and Carly, I didn’t want it to end. This is the first time I have read this author and it won’t be my last. I look forward to reading more of her books.

If you want a quick, sexy book then I suggest you give this one a try!

Good

This was a very sweet and sexy read! I really liked both characters. Stone was sweet, sexy and patient. I understand that he felt frustrated but he was unaware of the secret that Carly had. I could just imagine how hard it must be to tell a stranger you’re falling in love with you lied. I also definitely hate hiking so I probably would have spilled the beans before that torture began, lol!
Safety
Totally safe! No op drama. H has been celibate a long time and h is a virgin. No abuse but it is mentioned the h’s home life with her stepfather was horrible.

First read by this author and I was not disappointed.

It's short, with a dash of sweet, heavy on the sexy times. Even has some of the Insta-goodness that I love.

Safe.

Mail Ordered Bride by Tory Baker is the story of Carly and Stone.
Stone lives in Alaska where women are few and far between, so he dose as his fellow men have done and places an online ad for a wife. Carly is the name of the women who writes him back along with the pictures he receives. Stone already has the mine set that she is his and can't wait for her to come out to him.
Carly is young and innocent working two jobs and having to stay with her stepfather who is not a good person. When he ups and steals the money she has been saving to leave she is left with not money and all the bills. Carly's friend at the dinner where she works informs Carly, that she has been working on a plan to get Carly out of town. Carly's friend goes on to tell her about the Mail Order Bride offer that Stone has and that she has been pretending to be her in the letters to him. Carly left with no other choice goes to Stone. But Carly starts that her friends wasn't telling Stone about her true self. Stone is in heaven to see Carly but she doesn't act or do anything like her letters say she does. Carly cooks when in her letters she says she doesn't and there are more difference between the letter writer than the actual person. But his feelings for her are the same and he wants her as his wife.
This is a hot quick read with no real drama...I loved it.

The only thing I liked about this book was the Hero.
Hot damn .... he's so over the top hot he could melt icebergs.
Other than that, nothing much in this book.
No chemistry.
Just primal lust, which was boring after a while.
I didn't finish the book.

Stone worked on fishing boats and built his own house. Now, at age 36, he was prepared to have his family, so he signed up for the Single Alaskan Men website.
When he started exchanging letters with Carly, and saw her photo, a waitress always smiling, Stone was delighted and soon wanted to meet her.

But, there was a HUGE PROBLEM...

Whoever started writing for Stone was not Carly, but Tally.
No, they were not twins, or something similar.
They were work friends, and Tally was tired of seeing her friend in serious trouble. To begin with Carly had to run away from home because her stepfather wanted something more.
Upon learning what Tally did, Carly reads the letters he has sent and becomes interested in it. Decide to take the plan forward and go to Alaska to meet him.
But there were details that Tally had written about how herself that they were not true, and the coexistence between Stone and the real Carly would bring more than just differences in sports practice...

A cute and funny novel.

I was a little disappointed with this story. When I first read the synopsis, I thought: yes, I want this book! It's set in Alaska (which I love!!!!), the hero sounded pretty interesting.

Well, I started reading......the story itself had so much potential but fell flat for me:

1) It was too "quick" between Stone and Carly
2) the book was too short

I think that if it had been longer, more time could have helped the relationship build between the characters more believable.

It was short. It was sweet. It had swoon worthy moment. Both MC were great. Dual pov where some part were repeated or partially repeated but, I love it because I could see what both MC intake on that situation.

Fast read.
Mail order marriage with a twist: our H is a loner wolf "ordering" a wife thru online service.
He is keen on meeting and possessing the girl he exchanged correspondence with.... but not everything is as it seems.
The h comes from an awful past; she is sweet, vulnerable and has no illusions about arranged marriages; a little bit of push/pull, an attempt to escape and a sweet reunion.
I enjoyed it: I got the impression that it was not only "pure smut": good characters, good banter and a good writing style.

I'm not a fan of this story. And not because it's bad written or anything. It just I hate when h/H don't tell things they need to tell. They kept pushing and pushing it back, instead of telling and stoping being tormented by it.

Stone has a great life and a wonderful home in the wilderness of Alaska. The only thing missing from his life is a woman – a wife. Someone he can come home to is one of the last things that would make his life complete. Stone knew the type of woman that he wanted. She would be a tall blue eyed blonde. Someone who will bring the sunshine into his life. When his co-workers suggested he join Single Alaskan Men, Stone took the plunge and found the perfect woman for him, Carly. She may not be exactly what he was looking for, but she was perfect and he could not wait to start a new life with her in his home and in heart heart.

Carly may not be exactly what Stone had envisioned. She has secrets of her own. Secrets she needs to confess to make everything right. You see, Carly isn;t exactly who Stone thinks she is. Will her confession ruin their relationship before it even gets the chance to get off the ground? Or could they both start a new chapter as they get to know one another?

Wow is all I can say right now. I think I am in love with stone. The author, Tory Baker, has quite the imagination when it came to envisioning Stone. He is HOT. Like insanely hot. I have to admit I went on Google and researched hot Alaskan single men. Unfortunately for me, none looked like Stone. Guess I will just remain single!

Not only am I in love with Stone, but I really enjoyed Carly just as much. She was sweet and may not have had many life experiences, but I think she was just perfect for Stone and they complimented each other. He was hard where she was soft and I have always been a sucker for strong Alpha heroes and heroines that are the complete opposites from each other.

MAIL ORDERED BRIDE is a fantastic story full of heat, passion, and intensity that will burn up through the pages. Oh my is it HOT! I loved the story so much and I breezed the pages effortlessly just so I can see how their story ends. If you enjoy a romance where there is a bit of a secret, but you know the characters are destined to be with each other, then this is a story that you do not want to miss out on. MAIL ORDERED BRIDE is well worth the five stars I have given it.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of the book.

I really enjoyed this super quick, fun, and steamy read. It reminds me a bit of Brill Harper's work and I really love her stuff, so Mail Ordered Bride was right up my alley - so much so that Tory Baker might be an auto-buy author for me. It wasn't that the book was life changing, it was just really fun and light and happy. The author was actually able to convey character growth with the male lead, Stone, and I think that was my favorite part of the whole book. The characters were likable, the plot was entertaining, there was fantastic chemistry and the sex scenes were hot and sweet. I look forward to reading more from the author. 4 out of 5 wine glasses.

She was more...she was everything!
Have the temperatures risen in Alaska or is it my imagination? Something really hot, steamy and absolutely romantic is going down way up North in Tory Baker's novella "Mail Ordered Bride". Stone has chosen to be single and alone because he'd been searching for something deeper and more meaningful than a simple romp between the sheets... ordering and getting to know his "future bride" online may not be conventional but living a solitary life gave him no other options. When said "bride" arrives... she is nothing close to what he wanted... yet everything he needed! Check out this totally swoon-worthy man who will melt the Alaskan glaciers and your heart in the mix. 5 Swoony and Affectionate Stars for a man who has the power to reduce you to a puddle!

Truth be told

Carly and Stone, they'd been writing and emailing each other for months. The plan is for her to move to Alaska, but Carly doesn't know it, knows nothing of Stone, her friend Tally started the answer to the ad for a mail order bride because Carly needed to get out of Cranfill. Carly makes the trip to Alaska not knowing what she actually may find in Stone and is scared in the fact she really has no idea what he and Tally have talked about. They both fall for each other, but the truth always comes out. What will Stone do when he realizes Carly isnt the woman from the correspondence, will he still love her?

This is my first Tory Baker book. It isn't long, a little longer than a novella. But it is a sweet story.

Stone wants to get married. He just can't seem to find a woman in his small Alaskan town. So he meets someone online.

Carly ends up going to Stones home after she finds out her friend has made friends with him as her. Tilly made a friendship with Stone as Carly without the real Carly knowing.

When Carly and Stone meet its instant chemistry. But how is Carly going to tell Stone the truth?

Great little story. I voluntarily read an advance reader copy for my honest review.

Stone Matthews is 36 years old and he lives in a remote part of Alaska in a cabin that he built himself years ago. He’s a fisherman and he loves his life but having a woman to come home to would really make things perfect. Nate, a friend of his, tells him about a website called Single Alaskan Men, it’s how he met his wife, Page. Stone decided to give it a try and that’s how he met Carly, a woman who lives in Georgia who he’s been talking to for five months. The internet connection in his cabin isn’t the greatest so they’ve been writing letters to each other and sending pictures. Carly lived in a trailer with her horrible stepdad and she busted her ass working two jobs. She was saving so she could get far away from her stepdad but the day before she was set to leave she withdrew all the money from her account and fell asleep. When she woke up the next day ready to leave all her money was gone and so was her stepdad. She hasn’t seen him since and her power was cut off and they were threatening to repo her trailer. When she confides in her co-worker, Tally everything that’s going wrong Tally confesses that she’s been writing Stone and pretending to be Carly. She’s nervous but she’s also desperate so she leaves Georgia and heads to Alaska to meet her future husband. Tally gave her all the letters Stone wrote but she has no clue what the letters Tally wrote pretending to be her said. Stone knew as soon as he saw Carly’s picture that he wanted her as his wife. Will Carly be able to live up to the expectations that Stone has of her because of Tally’s letters ? This was a cute little story although I thought the whole Tally writing the letters was stupid because why didn’t she just answer the way Carly would ?

Lies and well tally kinda said carly wasn't a virgin.. which was NOT TRUE!! god.. also... tally/Carly was talking about sex.. to stone.. so that even makes my stomach blah... now i feel bad for real Carly.. since she has no idea what else they talked about.. and i feel bad for stone.. :/ i just couldn'r like it.. maybe if Tally wasn't invovled in this maybe i would like it.. its fast pace... and i wish they did this before they said i do..

Despite its Alaskan setting, Tory Baker certainly had no problem turning up the heat in this mail order bride meets mountain man story. This may have been a quick read, but it was a fun, fast-moving plot full of interesting details and nicely fleshed out (...ahem...) characters. Sugary-sweet, safe and super steamy, Mail Ordered Bride by Tory Baker was a bit of smutty awesomeness.

I felt like it could have been so much better if he wasn’t so degrading in the beginning. It was if she was a common whore for him to get laid, that she owed him that. He was nice at the end, but I couldn’t stand him in the beginning.

Carly finds out her co-worker Tally had been corresponding with Stone in Alaska pretending to be Carly for five months.

Her stepfather stole two thousand dollars she’d been planning as her escape to starting over.

Stone Matthews is 6’10”, a hulk of a man, broad and tall, with muscles gained from working outdoors for the past fifteen years. He wanted a place where he could be comfortable and made his house to reflect that.

He might have been twenty-one when he moved there, but now at thirty-six he’s an Alaskan and couldn’t be happy anywhere else. He came to Alaska 15 years ago and has made a life as a fisherman. He hand built his dream home. There is only one thing that’s missing. A woman. Women are few and far between. The ones that are there usually have men who keep them close.

At a friend's recommendation he tried a dating site just for Alaska men and found Carly, she is nothing like he thought he wanted, but she is perfect.

Carly has been working and planning her escape from her small town for a while. Her plans are ruined when her step-father steals her savings and disappears, leaving her with a mountain of debt. Tally gave her an out, she’s been posing as Carly on a dating site and the hot mountain man wants to marry her.

Carly heads to Alaska to meet Stone but the lies keep piling up.

She witnesses him taking care of business in the shower, he then storms her castle (her room), throws her over his shoulder like a true caveman and takes her to his room.

An epilogue five years into the future has them with a little girl and another baby on the way. He may have ordered a bride from the internet, but he didn’t get a bride.
He got a soulmate.

Good Story, loved Stone

Stone Matthews came to Alaska 15 years ago and has made a life as a fisherman. He hand built his dream home. Life is lonely. At a friend's recommendation he tried a dating site just for Alaska men. He found Carly, she is nothing like he thought he wanted, but she is perfect.

Her waitress friend has given her an out. She has been posing as Carly on a dating site and the hot mountain man wants to marry her.
Carly heads to Alaska. Stone is so much more than she images. The lies keep piling up. When Stone learns the truth, can he forgive her.
Sweet and steamy. Loved Stone, Carly, not so much. Empathize with why she did what she did. How she acted when Stone learned the truth, was childish, at least she knew it on some level. A great epilogue to wrap up their story
