Cassie:
I made the worst decision of my life when I left Denver three years ago.
I broke his heart, I broke my family’s hearts and I broke my own.
I could never go back, yet here I am, staring my past in the face.
Only things have changed.
He isn’t the same boy I once knew, he’s now the Captain of the Denver Dragons,
No longer a boy but a man, a man who has a reputation made by his many achievements in the bedroom.
I know I should stay away but I can’t,
I want him back.

Jaxon:
I’m up for the best senior year known to man.
I’m the king of campus.
The captain of the Hockey Team with endless amounts of alcohol and chicks at my disposal. I worked hard not to have a damn string holding me down.
Until my past comes back to haunt me.
Why, might you ask?
Because she’s back.

WARNING: Jaxon is a steamy romance with a HEA and NO CLIFFHANGER. It contains sexual content and coarse language and is recommended for mature readers. Please be aware that some scenes may cause stress for some readers.

Amazing!

Oh my wow this series just keeps getting better. This book had it all. It was light, dark, fast, slow, funny, and HOT! This was a great second chance romance that was unlike some of the others I've read! I can't wait to see what's going on with Xander in the next book of this series!

I thought Jax was such a douche in the first book. I loved him in this one.

No cheating and a HEA. No ow drama, there is a kidnapping and assault if that is a trigger for you. The H is not celibate during separation of 3 years but h is. Jax isn’t with anyone after he sees Cass again.

I liked Jaxon in the first book and I’m so glad we got his story in the second book. Second chance love is always a favourite and Sheridan Anne definitely delivers with this story. I especially liked that it was the girl that cold feet and disappeared leaving the guy all vulnerable and hurt - even if he did use his pain to become a player. My favourite part was the banter between the character, especially the sets of siblings (Cassandra and the twins and Bobby and Briana), because I’m close to my siblings and we talk to each other like they did and pretty much about everything like they did. It was nice to see that in a set of books rather than them being cold or just existing. This was quick, addictive read!

Couldn't get enough of Cassie & Jaxon. Wow. This one had me crying ugly tears...emotional in parts for me. But loved every minute of it & can't wait to read more of this series. I'm voluntarily leaving an honest review for a copy of the book.

Hot hockey player, Must read

I loved this book. I was drawn right in and felt the pain of the story. I 've read the first book and loved it. Now can't wait to read the rest of the series.

That prologue, oh my god. I have never read one that had me so instantly absorbed in the story. And from there on out it only got better. From Cass leaving and coming home to her and Jax seeing each other for the first time to Jax finding out about her parents and then showing up at the wedding. The whole thing was an emotional roller coaster. THE RING! Oh my hod when Cass admitted she knew about it my heart broke into a million pieces. You could feel how broke Jax was after that. And then the whole thing with Matthew comes along and throws another big wrench into everything. There was so much drama and emotion in this book but it al worked itself out and was a really great read.

This story was heartbreaking and yet lovely as the author developed the storyline between two characters who have a second chance at love. There was humor and so many emotions, I could not put this book down. A lovely book to add to the series.

>Book Review – Jaxon
>I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 2nd in the Kings of Denver series and ends in an HEA. Jaxon is the new captain of the Dragons hockey team. He had his heart broken 3 years prior and turned in to a man whore. His ex, Cassie, transfers to his college and rooms with the sister of a teammate, Bri. The interactions and protectiveness of Cassie’s triplet brothers are very funny. The scene where the girls meet to see if they want to room together and the brothers all face off is very humorous.
>There was some kind of issue with Jaxon’s parents. Too much was implied and not enough actually explained, so the whole relationship was a bit confusing. Jax and Cassie break into his parents’ home to steal his own stuff. I didn’t understand why they had to break in instead of just going home and taking it without the stealth.
>Jaxon and Cassie seem to forgive each other fairly painlessly. The introduction of a stalker was a surprise. Cassie really suffered. She was rescued, but not in time. A chapter explaining things from the stalker’s point of view would showcase the danger Cassie was in.
>I love that this book is a sports romance with actual descriptions of the sport in it. This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving the book 4 stars. The story lost a star only due to poor editing. Incorrect words that spell check alone would not catch were used. For example, the word “brother’s” is used in place of the correct word, “brothers”. This book is a great read and deserved to have the proper care taken in its editing.

Cassie has come back to Denver at the manipulation of her triplet older brothers. She is starting her senior year in college and all she has to do is avoid the cocky manwhore Captain of the Denver Dragons hockey team, Jaxson. The boy whose heart she broke when she left home three years ago without so much as a goodbye.

Jax has drowned his pain in alcohol and women for three years after Cassie, the girl he loved left him in the dust and moved to New York. He is shocked to find Cassie in one of his classes at the beginning of his senior year and struggles to keep a hold of himself as he tries to figure out what she is doing at his school. How can she just casually show up at his school and expect him not to be upset. I mean she left him and her family basically turned their backs on him and now she's just back? Why? What does she hope to accomplish? He doesn't need this crap and he doesn't care about her any more. But how long can he deny that he might still have feelings for the only girl he's ever loved?

Will these two be able to work out what happened three years ago? Or will Jax be to afraid to try again for fear of getting hurt again? With all this going on there is someone lurking in the background and he has some very different ideas of who Cassie should belong to. Grab this exciting book today to find out what happens. It's a wild ride and a beautiful story, definitely should not be missed.

Second book in the King of Denver series, and just as good as the first one. Jaxon has big shoes to fill on the Hockey team, he’s now the captain and trying to whip the team in shape so that they can repeat the champion season from the previous year. Jaxon has a reputation on campus has a man who never goes back for seconds and he doesn’t do relationships. Cassie transfers colleges to go to school closer to home and follow her dreams of becoming a sport physiotherapist. She finds a great roommate, that even her triplet older brothers approve. Even though her roomie’s brother plays on the team with Jax, she thinks she can just avoid him. Well she thought erroneously. The story was great, repairing the romance between Jax and Cassie is a bumpy road, but it was worth it! I absolutely loved the characters, including Cassie’s brothers and her roomie Brianna.

Jax and Cassie have been in love since they were kids but just before they are set to go to college together. Cassie leaves without a word. When they see each other three years later, Jax is still heartbroken and has been using random hockey bunnies to ease his pain. Cassie has always and will always love Jax. Nobody could ever fill her heart like he does, but will she ever feel like she deserves to have claim over his heart again. This book is filled with feelings that are felt from the first sight and just never go away. He will walk through fire for her and he might just have to. Such a great book and an amazing second book in the series. I'm already anxious to read book three.

Meh

The guy is a giant douche. Claims to have been in love with the heroine but immediately turned into a giant slut when she left. The person he was with since he was 12 years old and he didn’t bother to follow her or try to reason with her. He just let her go and started screwing ransoms, having three sims and foursomes. Sorry but that’s not a good enough excuse, I can buy how bing cheated on might change a person but that’s not what happened here. He wasn’t in tune with what she wanted or needed. While that was made painfully obvious, it wasn’t ever addressed. He played the victim card repeatedly and never apologized for his behavior or how he hurt her. Just made this whole story so blah.

Jaxon and Cass

In book one, Miller Kings of Denver, we meet Jaxon in his junior year. He's a heart throb hottie who enjoys the benefits of girl Fandom. Here we get to see him as Captain of the team for his senior year. We eventually learn the reason behind his no girlfriend status and one hit only. We get introduced to Cass and learn that she's known Jax since they were 12 and were inseparable and in love until one day Cass up and left for NYC without any kind of warning or explanation. We get to watch them reconnect and ultimately find their way back to each other. But not without some hardships of a crazy ass stalker and Cass being kidnapped. So glad to see these two come back together ❤

I was definitely excited to read this book because from what we saw of Jaxson in Miller’s book I thought that he needed to be redeemed. I absolutely fell in love with Jaxson and Cassie’s love story, it was a second-chance love story which are so sweet. Cassie was giving up her happiness to make Jaxson follow his dreams, but end up breaking both of their hearts in the process. When Cassie’s brothers ask her to come home she is so worried about Jaxson and what he would say to her. I think from the start that they were meant to be together and so happy with the way this book turned out. I can’t wait to finish this series. I’m so obsessed with all of Sheridan Anne’s work.

There was nothing really offensive I found in this book but nothing too exciting either. Jax and Cassie seem to reconnect rather quickly after being apart for three years. I do hate when the (gorgeous of course) woman hasn't had any sex (eyeroll) in the time apart and the man is screwing anything that catches his eye. It's unrealistic and quite frankly I find it sexist. In addition the first time they have sex she doesn't mention a thing about STI's and tells him to not worry about a condom - like wtf!! He is screwing around and the girls he fucks are screwing around too. She knows this and acts like it was no big deal. Quite frankly I found it kind of gross not sexy. Overall a meh book.

I enjoyed this second book. I think I may have enjoyed it even more than Miller's book.

The storyline was a good one. I love second chance romance novels. It definitely was fun to see their transition back to one another.

My complaint will be similar to book one which I'm starting to suspect maybe it's just the author's style of writing. We have a good build up but the actual action scene with the drama event fall short. We don't get specifics on what actually happens between Jax and this villain. We go from knowing something bad is happening to poof it's over. No details on what happens, I would of like to read an action scene on this. Same happened in Miller's book.

These books are such a cute read! I’m not normally a second chance romance lover but for this one, I was willing to make an exception. It had everything you could want in a romance novel and a whole lot more - humour, emotional connection, smut, so much smut ;) The banter between everyone is awesome and makes you want it to continue.

This book does have a scene that might be a trigger for some people and I kinda wish we got to see how the recovery played out a little more rather but all in all this is a great read and I highly recommend it to everyone!

I love a second chance romance

Jaxon is the new captain of the Denver Dragons and oh wait a sexy captain. He doesn’t lack for female companionship and he’s known as a good time, not a long time guy. He wasn’t always like this though. What happened? Cassie happened. This is their story. I love this series and all the characters. Please do yourself a favor and grab a copy of this amazing second chance book. I can’t wait to read Xander’s book next.

Jaxon and Cassie’s story has an intensity to it that’s hard to walk away from. I sat down and finished the story, ignoring sleep. The sex was steamy. There’s enough drama. There’s a bit of suspense. I shaved ½ star because I find Cassie’s reasoning as to why she left Denver, which started the story plot, ridiculous. Nevertheless, the story pulls you in. This is a great addition to the series. It is the second and is a stand alone. This is a second chance romance. It is well written, interesting and smooth. The characters and the storyline pull you in and keep you interest through the whole book. Cassie and Jaxon make a great couple. The side characters add to the story. It had you feeling sad, happy and smiling. I recommend it to all. It is a must read. I received it from booksprout and voluntarily left my review.

I have read a lot of these types of books lately and honestly found this one to be refreshingly different.
Her writing draws you in and keeps you involved throughout the whole story, I found myself in love with not only the characters but also the world she has created.
Their attitudes toward the events that are happening makes the story even richer.

Jaxon story is the proof that true luve doest exist and that it doesn't matter how many years are separating two people because if they are mean to be then they are meant to be togheter forever. I loved how Jaxon woke up and worked for what mattered and is imporatnt in his life. And Cassie is a sweetheart and she and Jaxon are cute couple. Loved their story. Thank you Sheridan for this wonderful book.

I really enjoyed this book. It’s well written in such as way that is easy to read, the twists and turns keep you engaged - I didn’t put the book down until the very last word.
Great main characters, also liked that the previous book’s main characters popped in for a bit.
I really liked the storyline and hot AF Hockey men in steamy scenes.. what more could you ask for.

Super cute second chance college sports romance read.

These two together are super sweet, it took them awhile to get to their HEA with quite a few tragic speed bumps along the way but they definitely got there.

After running away without a word Cass is back and she’s at his school, Jaxson was determined to protect his heart from Cass after she shattered it the first time but they both soon learn they can’t stay away from each other.

Second chance love

Hockey and second chance love - what more can you ask for. Love when a romance can make you laugh on its way to a happy ending. Have noticed that the h in first book and second have some pretty ugly things happen to them. Not entirely sure if either were a hundred percent necessary. But enjoyed nonetheless.
