Carol Anne Sullivan is a tough but burnt-out NYSE broker. She's going through a rough patch managing her business and dealing with a frustrating sex life. Regardless of the efforts on her hot ex-jock lover’s part, she just can’t get any satisfaction. Not even a former infallible rubber sex toy has been able to take her mind off problems, since it started acting out on her. Carol can’t take any more aggravations. Having to deal with a new cheeky receptionist is the last thing she needs right now. So why can’t she stop thinking about the young woman? More importantly, she’s never been attracted to another woman so what is it about Cindy O’Rourke that’s so alluring? Mark Aikens, said drop-dead-gorgeous lover and Carol’s assistant, knows he’s not getting the job done. Being the good submissive he is, he can’t confront his Mistress. But can he stand by and watch as Carol slips away? Will he risk losing her on account of remaining an obedient pet? Cindy O’Rourke was first of her MBA class and her best papers were about a certain genius NYSE broker named Carol Sullivan. When she had a chance to apply for a position in Carol’s company, she ran for it. However, her professional role-model soon becomes a serious daydream fantasy. And nighttime as well. She believes Carol’s way out of her league and she knows it’s wrong to lust for her boss. Besides, Carol’s straight. So why can’t she resist flirting with the older woman every chance she has? Why can’t she erase from her memory the hot scenes she witnesses when she walked in on Carol and Mark having sex? *** This short-story is intended for adults only! It contains graphic language plus kinky scenes involving a stressed out stock broker, her gorgeous ex-jock assistant, and a naughty young receptionist. Plus first-time lesbian action, naughty toys, and light BDSM. ***

In her sexy stories, one finds smart, independent women, who don’t need rescuing by knights in shining armor, but indulge in steamy action with swoony Alpha males with big hearts. She also writes about women discovering their sexuality and finding happiness in unconventional setups.
Powerless by Liz is definitely a book that surprises readers, especially if you weren't expecting such a steamy and explicit storyline! It's one of those books that can catch you off guard if you're not prepared for its level of heat. With a mix of M/F and F/F scenes, it's definitely geared toward readers who are looking for something bold and explicit in the erotica genre.
Despite the problems with Mark Carol manages to achieve release when Mark uses his tongue and fiongers and she imagines it is Cindy. During the session she looks up and sees Cindy watching them. Two weeks pass before anything else happens. Carol attends a Zumba class and finds herself stood behind Cindy, she gets all worked up. Aftr the class has finished she heads back to her private shower. Cindy joins her and hard hot sex follows.
Powerless is a steamy short that will keep you hooked from page one. Carol Anne has never been with a woman but finds herself fantasizing about the idea when the new employee starts. She ignores these urges until she can't anymore.
I liked this story because we got a glimpse at Carol's struggle to be with her P.A. despite the fact she's never been with a woman. I will be adding more of Liz Gavin to my book shelves.
It took me only 20 minutes to read and it was free, but it was just awful. I was curious to try a lesbian erotica book, but I'm disappointed that this was my first exposure to it. It was pure erotica with an attempt at the weakest story line I've ever read. I guess I was expecting something different.
A very busy stock broker built her company but her busy schedule leaves little time for relationships. Not to say she doesn't have her hook-ups, she has many "boy toys" to fill that need when it arises. However, a new young attractive receptionist is suddendly staring in her daydreams and fantasies. Having never been with a woman and never experiemented this attraction and fantasies throw her for a loop. Up until after one gym session ends with both of them in the shower, a certain vibrating double headed toy, and a whole lot of touching.
This was an interesting story. It was pretty shocking since I'm no where near used to this kind of book. In fact, this was the first for me. It jostled me awake and I was so shocked, I couldn't stop reading it. Good thing that this was a short story. Definitely graphic. Not meant for the weak at heart.
this was a freebie I got last year and decided to read it since I had a bit of time. I never read blurbs so picking this book up I did not know it was a ff and fm. it reads really fast and kind of sexy even with all the typos and bad grammar. their story continues but I will not be following it
Do people really talk like that? Or even dirty talk to themselves when they're alone? All I did was laugh. And I don't think humour is what they were going for....
This was a read filled with passion and lust featuring a turn of the tables on a powerful and Dominant woman. Every scene and sensation in the story was described in vivid detail. There are elements of frustration that build into stress which later are relieved and the cycle begins again in ways that keep the reader engaged and infatuated. The characters were deep enough that you could connect with them and fleshed out enough to add an element of realism to the story. The story stands alone without needing the support of another tale while at the same time it will leave you wanting more. Fortunately, there is a sequel to add another layer. I love it when a book can support itself instead of ending on a cliffhanger and ruining a perfectly good story. I only saw a couple of tiny proofreading issues within the tale, but nothing that would distract from the story and I have to praise that because of how deeply I appreciate the proofreading and editing of an erotic short story when so many authors choose not take the time to handle that. Frankly this could, to date, be my favorite D/s erotic short.
This is a short story that is before Upside Down, with this book we get a peak as to what's in store for Carol and we see that Carol is such an independent woman who can achieve anything she sets her mind to. She seems to be quite happy with the arrangement that she has got going on with her PA Mark and even though he gives her anything that she desires she can't help but wonder one afternoon what it would be like to be with another women.
This has never been an issue for Carol before but she can't seem to stop thinking about what it would be like if she could have Cindy. But after the one encounter with Cindy things change forever, how will Carol react to everything that's going on.
This book will leave you hooked from the very beginning. This book isn't part of a series, it's a stand alone novel, you don't have to read this to read Upside Down but I would suggest to as you can see what your in store for. I love Carol as a character as it's not everyday she is in a situation where she is left powerless and has no idea how to control it, and I hope that you love Carol and the story as much as I have. Liz Gavin you have done such an amazing job with this book.
In between really heavy duty books, I needed something brainless to tide me through the transitional phase. This one fit the bill. The sentences are so incredibly badly written and the stockbroker sounds like a horny high school kid. The explicit scenes were kinda 'meh' (plus, she used the word 'nub' just a little too much).
1/5 would not recommend as decent erotica. 5/5 would recommend as an example of how not to write.
ok actually there was nothing at allowed about this book. It was a quick read, raw and gritty. A powerful executive woman who is all business and only a little bit pleasure is deemed powerless to the feminine wiles of a newly hired assistant. I don't really like the w/w thing but this had decent steam and like I said it was short so it was over quickly.
This book takes you on a steamy ride, that lets you imagine and picture everything that's going on, with Carol, the protagonist. Carol is the powerful business-woman, stock broker but soon someone enter her life, that causes the turn in events that are too hot to talk about :P
Recommended for those who like Erotica books ! Read this for some girl on girl action !
Why not break up if you want someone else or if the person your dating can't give you want you want, this seemed more the issue than the other person being a woman since it basically seemed as if she was with an aggressive man
Didn't really like this,no story line even though it's a short read, seems rushed to me.I'm curious how the love triangle will work out.But it's not a book that brought me much interest.
Whew. I'll be reading more of this. The author needs some help with her usage of certain words during the steamy parts. I just seriously hate the word "lubricated" during sex. But it was still super hot and I was blushing the whole time:
