Original, funny, with heaps of action. Jarrett keeps the reader engaged in a fast paced adventure full of dark twists, intriguing characters and a few gruesome incidents. Lots of ideas are explored and come together in a well woven tale.

I really enjoyed this. Easy to read and I really like the characters, Carina Keel is awesome and Canopus is a friend that I feel we all need. Loved Drexel too. Vince was an interesting character and I was surprised by the twists. Lots of fun, looking forward to the next book!

A great story and a really fun read.

When I read the premise (FBI agents and the supernatural) my first thought was "X-Files" but it turned out to be nothing like that. It's probably closer to Ben Aaronovitch's Rivers Of London, although not that similar to that either. It lies on an original point between the two and recommended for fans of either of them.

there are some exciting set-pieces . The diner and the morgue were highlights. The characters of Canopus and Keel are well thought out and the supporting cast (Vince in particular) are equally fun.

Overall, thoroughly recommended if you like easy-to-read action-packed supernatural thrillers.

In the first few chapter there is a character that dies.
The detectives said that he died because he was full of energy and that energy (the same energy that could only be consumed by blood or saliva) needed to go somewhere but after 2 chapters they also said that the same person was quite drained out of blood.

So dead person had a lot of energy (which made him explode) because he consumed blood and he was still missing nearly half of it before he died???

Make it make sense!!

I got through almost 80% of this book but I just lost interest in it. It could just be that I wasn't really in the mood to read this right now but it just seemed to be dragging along.
