SAY YOU LOVE ME is the third book in the Pine Valley series. I started this one morning, thinking I would read a few chapters and then do what needed to be done at home. Well, that didn’t happen and I was finished with this heart warming story in a few hours. It is crazy good and I could not put it down. I have only read one other book by Heather B Moore but I’m excited to find her previous books and devour them as I devoured this one.
Clara has had a bad break up with her cheating boyfriend. She also just buried her grandmother, who raised her. She decides to leave her home and moves to Pine Valley. She gets a job working at a realtors office and that is where she meets Dawson Harris. Dawson seems like a really nice guy who takes nothing for granted. SAY YOU LOVE ME finds Clara having feelings for Dawson but she tries to resist his charm. They both have trust issues but Clara way more than Dawson. Clara and Dawson both have broken hearts but are very caring and loving people. Can they move on from things that have happened to them and find their happily ever after or will the fear hold them back? They both try to keep their relationship on a friends only level, but Dawson is determined to make it more!
As Dawson realizes that Clara is the perfect woman for him, he needs to come up with a plan to get Clara to realize they should be together. But Clara thinks she is all wrong for him. I mean, in her thinking, she’s just a regular type of woman, nothing special, that Dawson, who is super good looking, wouldn’t look twice at. As she gets to know Dawson, she sees just what a nice guy and big hearted person he is. Of course, Clara is afraid that she just might be a good time fling for Dawson, but she also realizes her feelings for him are growing.
SAY YOU LOVE ME is a fun sweet and very clean small town romance. I’m so excited to continue this series and see who the next book is going to be about. I loved getting to know Clara and Dawson and it was fun to watch them circle around each other while trying to figure out how to get together. Heather B Moore held my heart in her hands from the very first page and never let it go. I loved how she made me want to pack my bags and go and find Pine Valley. I can’t wait to read more about this quaint small town.
4.5 stars for the third book in the Pine Valley series. Can I say I love Dawson?! He's the reason for the extra 1/2 star.
Clara Benson had a lot of healing to do--her grandmother died and she found out her fiancé had been cheating on her for a year with one of his co-workers! So she quit her teaching job and moved to Pine Valley, where she got a job managing the office for realtor, Jeff Finch. She's definitely not looking for a relationship, but as you know that's usually when things happen. Enter Dawson Harris, Jeff's attorney, who's still getting over a painful divorce.
Clara and Dawson are instantly attracted to each other, but decide to remain friends and just hang out with no romantic overtures to mess things up. Yeah, like that's going to last long with a guy who looks like Dawson and says swoony things like "Well, if I were your boyfriend, I'd work really hard to change your mind."
Dawson was the best! His ex-wife had given him a 3 page handwritten list of his failures and he really took it to heart, so much that he kept the list so that he could change and be a better husband the next time around. He was great with Clara and took things as slowly as she wanted. He gave her space.
I understood Clara wanting to take things slowly after being cheated on for a year and then unceremoniously dumped, but Dawson wasn't at all like Max (the ex-fiancé) and he even helped her when she needed legal advice although they weren't speaking at the time. That's the sign of a great friend and a true gentleman right there. Thank goodness Clara opened her eyes and her heart, because I was going to scream if she hadn't.
I love all these Pine Valley romances. They're clean and have great characters. I can't wait for the next one.
Clara and Dawson, you two are just the best! Yes, if you can't tell I loved the book and the characters! This is book three in the Pine Valley novels and I have enjoyed all three, but this book, it's my favorite. Maybe because I have been anticipating Dawson's story from the beginning. Whatever the reason though, it was a fun read.
Dawson and Clara both have a lot of healing to go through. Past relationships and heartaches have left them wounded and hurt. Trust does not come easy for them and when they finally meet, that undeniable spark between them won't let them back away from each other. Try as they might to step away and protect their hearts, that unseen connection keeps pulling them back together.
Dawson was such a fabulous character. He was a gentleman and so kind and gentle towards Clara. His heartache from a previous relationship, and his mistakes have helped him strive to be better. I absolutely loved all the scenes between him and Clara. Dawson knew just what to say to help Clara feel safe and truly cared for. Very swoony for all you sweet and clean romance lovers out there.
There are ups and downs and struggles throughout but the end, it made me so happy. I just loved Dawson's character. And that awesome red mailbox on the front cover, a very cute way to incorporate it into the story. "Say you love me," was having me grinning at the very end. That's a slight reference to something in the story more than the title. If you have read it you'll know what I mean. If not, read it!
Content: Clean. Some kissing. Talk about previous relationship and a child out of wedlock. There are no details just a little mention that it happened.
I received a copy from the author. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.
Pine Valley sounds like my kind of place. Small town, but with some amenities and plenty of great people. I've loved the time I've spent here and was completely captivated from the start, especially with that yoga scene, haha.
Some women are so hesitant about relationships, especially because of past experiences, and that's exactly Clara to a T. But what I love about her, is that she knows she's hot and cold and she tries so hard to change her path. It's kind of annoying when a character has no clue how wishy-washy they are and I didn't feel that with Clara. Dawson, on the other hand, is a swoony-worthy man of great determination. What's not to love? Dawson has been a secondary character in the previous books and I've been very intrigued by him and let me just say--he was totally worth the wait!
I really loved both the progression of the story and the character growth. Both characters have a lot of healing to do from their pasts and it's done in a light and tasteful way, while dealing with difficult situations. The sweet and tender small and simple things are what really won me over.
There were so many things that had my heart singing, some things that had me laughing, and still others that had me grabbing a tissue. Heather B. Moore knows how to draw a reader in and how to firmly plant me within the pages.
Content: mild, sweet romance; some innuendo; implied intimacy prior to a past marriage
*I received a copy, which had no influence on my opinions*
I've been waiting for this story since the very beginning of this series! I'm so glad Dawson stepped into the limelight with this book but man, did his story tug at my heartstrings. Poor Dawson was put through the emotional ringer but it was awesome to see him emerging like a butterfly into something better. Clara is in a similar place but somehow it was Dawson that really captured my attention and my heart. I loved how gentle and patient he was with Clara and how hard he tried. It was endearing.
I'm have loved this Pine Valley series and I'm sort of bummed that I'm not getting more of them. Maybe if I beg for a few more? Also, I have series cover love for all the books in this series. Isn't this cover fantastic? The fonts, the pop of red. Love. This book falls into my easy reading, contemporary romance genre. It's where I go when I want to escape.
Content: clean, kissing
- I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.
Romance, clean; Series, but stand alone Clara's escape to Pine Valley to escape, her sadness, her sorrow, and the mistakes of her past (her failed romance), have made her hesitant and unwilling to have a relationship. When she and Dawson meet by chance, there is something there for both of them. Clara's guarded heart, and Dawson's hurt one healing as they spend time together and just relax and 'find' their healed hearts was fun, sincere, and filled with attraction and longing. Great chemistry between the two main characters. Really a lovely read as they both lived their lives and found their healing and a future together. I always love a romantic read with genuine honest hearts. They both had been hurt by their former significant others, but Dawson's hope in them, and Clara's gradual belief in them and the feeling they shared was a beautiful, heartfelt, hopeful read. Sticking with each other, and letting go of the past for both of them as they built a foundation for their future with genuine, honest, heartfelt, beautiful moments. For me, this by far the best of the series and the most memorable for me as a reader. The characters read 'true' for me. If you love a clean romantic read with genuine honest characters, this is a great read! I received and ARC from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review. My opinions are my own and in no way influenced by this gift.
Loved it! Lots of sweet moments balanced with hesitation and angst, I was captivated by the pull between Dawson and Clara, and their struggle to cope with their issues while also not letting them prevent a future together. Dawson is not the typical leading man I prefer, but his vulnerability and eagerness to please Clara made him easy to like. They had great rapport and banter which I always love in contemporary romance! This book was a pleasure to read and made me look forward to the next book in the Pine Valley series. A perfect beach read for the summer at a great price!
(I received a complimentary copy of the book; all opinions in this review are my own)
This was the cutest story and one I'll definitely read again! I'm loving this series. Every time I read one of the books, I think it's my favorite, but then the next one comes out, and it's the new favorite. :D
Dawson has been a secondary character in the previous two stories and sometimes he wasn't at his best. Despite that, I had an inkling he'd be a surprising main character, and he delivered. Caring, respectful, and super sweet. He never pressured for anything she wasn't ready for, and he waited patiently for her. *Swoon*
Clara is alone and has been through some recently heartaches. She's not quite sure what she wants or needs, but she gets there, and Dawson is a good friend along the way.
Clara has had a rough year and has landed in Pine Valley working for the realtor Jeff Finch. She has been talking to his attorney, Dawson Harris, on the phone but is not prepared for meeting him in real life. He's very confident, good-looking and overwhelming.
Let the negotiations begin! Dawson is immediately interested in Clara, but Clara just wants to be friends. So being the attorney he is, Dawson starts as friends and keeps charming and negotiating his way into her heart.

Oh my gosh, I loved this story! I loved Clair and Dawson. The chemistry was great and I loved how sweet and caring Dawson was. This was such a sweet, clean romance. I wish it didn't have to end. I absolutely loved it!
I’ve loved reading these Pine Valley books! I love that you get to see the same characters over and over. I really enjoyed learning more about Clara, she’s mentioned in the first two books, but really was a bit of a mystery. She’s a great character, but she’s been through a lot and isn’t looking for any kind of a relationship. In fact, when she first sees Dawson, she’s in yoga class and he ends up right next to her. Clara finds herself annoyed that he’s in her space and that he is attractive. That is kind of funny as she gets to know him and starts to fall for him.
Dawson has also been through a lot. His ex-wife, wow! I couldn’t believe the way she left him a letter telling him all his faults. And what was even worse, he saved it! Dawson is just a good guy. I loved how when he realized that Clara liked to read romances, he went out and picked some up. He goes out of his way to take care of Clara in so many ways. Such a great guy!
I loved the plot of this one! It’s light, fun and romantic. I loved that this one is a quick and easy read. It’s just a great escape!
Clara insists on being friends. Dawson is persistent, though, and he keeps flirting and charming Clara, hoping she’ll change her mind and agree to more than friendship. I laughed at all the references to other authors’ books and some of the references to other places in books as well. Clever marketing.
A sweet, clean romance. No sex or swearing. An enjoyable read.
Dawson and Clara are so cute together. They just don't know it in the beginning. They both are working on healing and overcoming past relationship issues. Clara's past is still haunting her and with her grandmother's recent death she just isn't ready. Dawson is kind and tries to keep in the friend zone but neither can resist their obvious attraction. I love that Dawson is honest with her and they have this "truth" game where they tell the brutal truth if asked. They really get to know each other with that too.
Dawson is sooo good to her. I want him as a lawyer too!
If you like finding that person who compliments you and is patient and kind and hard working, lawyers, teachers, office managers, real estate, just hanging out, making dinners then this might be for you!
Clara and Dawson both haven't had the best luck in their previous relationships, which has left them leery of getting involved with someone again. I thought some of the issues were brought up/mentioned a little too much, to the point that it became overbearing (especially in Clara's case), but maybe that's how you'd feel in that situation. I wouldn't know.
The setting was nice and I liked the references to other clean novels, one I've read already and I'm curious to read the other now. :)
I haven't read the first two books in the series, but I feel this book can easily be read on its own. I may read the others at some point, but I'm not sure when. I'd recommend to fans of clean contemporary fiction.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. I was asked to give my honest opinion of the book - which I have done.
This sweet, clean, contemporary romance was delightful. I had just finished reading the other two books in the Pine Valley series (Worth the Risk and Where You Belong). I loved how characters were introduced slightly in previous books and then you get to hear their story. The book was very well written with likable characters.
As expected, Heather B. Moore has done it again! Fabulously sweet romance that sees the couple through trials that strengthens each person individually and as dynamic partners. She wants a new beginning after the loss of her beloved grandmother and a failed relationship in which she was both ignored and taken for granted. He isn’t sure what he is ready for but it he has doubts of his worth within a relationship since his divorce. Healing comes softly and slowly to both Clara and Dawson as romance blossoms and grows into a relationship that both are validated in. Sweet and hopeful read!
Clara Benson is the office manager for Jeff Finch, who was the protagonist in Worth the Risk (Pine Valley book #1). Each book can be read independently, but it was nice to see some familiar characters.
Clara has just had rotten luck: her grandmother died, she lost her job, and her fiance betrayed her all in the same week. This spurred Clara on to start new somewhere else. Clara discovered Pine Valley.
Dawson Harris hasn't been interested in a relationship after his ex-wife gutted him during their divorce. When he meets Clara Benson in person, he starts to think that maybe he can start again, if it is with her.
Dawson and Clara have a sweet relationship. They are both vulnerable, but both are incredibly open with each other. It was incredibly refreshing to see open communication in a romance novel! Clara was sweet and understandably cautious. I loved how she supported Dawson, but also helped him to be better. Dawson was sweet, confident, and persistent. I loved how he didn't give up on Clara or move on to an easier relationship.
A nice clean romance to sit down with for the afternoon.
Clara and Dawson are both coming from bad relationships and are both weary of starting something new, even if it seems right. Clara also has to deal with losing her beloved grandmother and her teaching position on top of her broken engagement.
I thought this was another good addition to the Pine Valley series. The books in the series can be read in any order, but I do recommend reading all of them. I also liked the plugs for various authors that the characters were reading; their mention made me pause to look up the different authors and their books look like they would also be a good read.
It looks like another Pine Valley book is coming out in June and I’ve probably said this in my other reviews, but I can’t wait to return to Pine Valley.
I loved this book - the characters, the story, the feelings, the emotions. Dawson and Clara are great! Separately and together. Some of their interactions just made me laugh. Clara was hesitant, but just couldn’t stay away from him. It was so cute! Dawson was understanding and didn’t push, but everything he did made his case. He was definitely a catch!
This is the third book in the series, but can be read alone.
I received a complimentary copy of the book, which I voluntarily reviewed. I have given my honest opinion.
Readers of the first couple books in the Pine Valley series have met Dawson Harris, the amiable lawyer and friend of the main male characters of each of those.
In Say You Love Me, we get a more complete picture of who Dawson is as he shares about his past experiences with Clara Benson—a woman he’s talked to on the phone but just meets at the beginning of this story.
This was a fun read because from the start, Clara and Dawson agree to tell each other the truth. There’s no miscommunication (or lack thereof) between these two. Yet, there is plenty of tension and spark between them. And some large hurdles to get over.
I enjoyed hanging out with Clara and Dawson as they fought their attraction while spending time together. Dawson is respectful of Clara’s wishes while remaining someone she can depend on when she needs a friend.
A quick and sweet read for the romantic in you.

This was my favorite Pine Valley couple. I loved the dialogue between this two characters. It was so fun. There is definitely chemistry between the two. Dawson was intense but also such a gentlemen. Clara was spunky and exactly what Dawson needed. My only complaint is that the story has a character from the first Pine Valley book in it but there is no connection to the other book. I like it when I can get a view of couples from previous books in series.
I really liked how the title of this book worked throughout the book. I don’t know about you, but I find it almost annoying, especially with music, when the title just doesn’t seem to have any bearing on the overall story! It’s like the artist just randomly pulled a few words together & called it good. So I was really glad to see that the title actually had some significance.
Ok, that’s my little near-rant over.
Onto what I thought of the story - as professed by my 4 star rating, I really enjoyed this book. I could have so easily not have put it down until I had finished it off in the one day but sadly work & life intervened lol
This is the third book in the series & each one has been enjoyable. I think this is my favourite of the three though, possibly due to the fact that we were introduced to Dawson in the very first book & now he gets his own story. If you’ve already read the first book you will get to see how he has grown along the way & although he’s made mistakes, he’s learned from them.
I also really like Clara & how she didn’t fall all over Dawson when he first started showing an interest. She has a lot of spunk despite her insecurities.
I really appreciated that this was a clean read. There are mentions of previous sexual relationships referred to but apart from this there is only some mild kissing.
Overall, this is a feel good story which I am happy to recommend. Although it can be read as a stand-alone I am glad I read the others first :)
I received my copy free in exchange for an honest review.
After being cheated on by her fiancé, losing her job as a kindergareten teacher, and having her beloved grandmother die, Clara Benson packs up and starts over in Pine Valley. She finds a job working for a local real estate agent and soothe her hurting soul. When she meets Dawson Harris, she is instantly attracted but she also knows she's not in a place to pursue a relationship. But Dawson, still hurting from his divorce but willing to move forward, is persistent, and persuades Clara to spend time with him. Clara could use a friend--but is it really possible for her to only be friends with Dawson?
This was a sweet, clean romance. Clara and Dawson were both realistic characters, with interesting back stories. I enjoyed seeing their unfolding romance. There was good chemistry between the two. Although this is the third book in the series, the books are stand-alones and can be read in any order. I received a copy of the book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.
Say You Love Me is a delightful and third addition to Heather B Moore’s Pine Valley series. I liked this short story. I found it to be a sweet, clean and fun read. I loved Clara and Dawson. They had great chemistry with one another and loved the scenes when they were together. I recommend Say You Love Me and give it 4 ½ stars. I hope there will be more in the Pine Valley series. I received this book from the author, but was not required to write a review. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.
I loved Dawson. We meet Clara and Dawson in Worth the Risk and honestly, I am still confused about the timing of this story with book one because it didn't seem to match up. When I finally pushed that aside, I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Clara and Dawson. Awww Dawson. Their friendship was fun, but I felt like their characters really developed through the story. Another great addition to this series and another hunky lead to love.
Say You Love Me (2018) by Heather B. Moore is the third book in her Pine Valley series. This book comes in all forms including eBook, and is 198 pages in length. With a full-time job and a busy six-year old, this book took me two days to read. I received a copy of this novel in eBook form from Mirror Press Publishing via Kathy at I Am a Reader. In no way has this influenced my opinion of the story. All opinions expressed in this review are my own. I give Say You Love Me 5 STARS. This book is a Contemporary Clean Romance.
Say You Love Me is a quick and easy read that warmed my heart! The characters are well written — especially Dawson. The plot is engaging. And, the romance definitely made my heart do flips quite a few times!
Dawson Harris is the hero of this novel, and he is my favorite character. Yes, he fits all the criteria of a stereotypical Romance hero — he is tall, handsome, built extremely well, employed, and highly intelligent. But, Dawson is so much more. What I really love about his character is how he treats Clara. Clara is reeling from an awful year of tragedy. Within one week she lost her beloved grandmother, her boyfriend of many years left her for someone else, and she lost her job as a kindergarten teacher. Her heart is tender to say the least. She is not looking for a boyfriend. She isn’t really looking for anyone or anything. She wants to hide. Dawson is instantly attracted to Clara, but understands that she needs to be treated with kid gloves. So, he legitimately befriends her. He listens to her. He takes her out on “friend” dates. He purposely buys a couple of girly novels so he can take part in what she likes. Most importantly, Dawson respects Clara and the boundaries she needs in order to heal. This fact alone is enough for me to adore his character. There is nothing more sexy than a man who truly respects a woman.
Another aspect that I appreciate about Dawson’s character is his ability to make changes when necessary. He can take criticism. I don’t know too many people who can take criticism. Most of the time, people react awfully to the critic, and rarely take to heart that there might actually be things they can change to make themselves better people. Dawson’s ex-wife does a really messed up thing to him. I won’t spill the beans…go read the book. Suffice it to say, it’s pretty rotten, and it hurt Dawson deeply. But, over time, Dawson realizes that he did make mistakes. He takes responsibility for those mistakes. And he does what he can to change some quirks and habits in order to become a better man. Not only does this make him an excellent fictional hero, but it’s a good reminder to me that there are plenty of things I can do to make myself a better wife, mother, teacher, friend, and daughter. I need to learn to better evaluate criticism for the truth within it and make necessary personal changes rather than immediately react with hurtful words in an attempt to mask any embarrassment or hurt feelings. For this reminder alone it was totally worth reading this book!
Overall, Say You Love Me is a really fun and quick read that I highly recommend. I enjoyed the relationship between Clara and Dawson. I loved their quick wit and banter. I loved their friendship. If you are looking for an enjoyable and satisfying read that will leave your heart happy then I absolutely recommend buying a copy of Say You Love Me today!
Losing her fiancee, grandmother, and job all happened within a week and it is too much for poor Clara Benson to bear. It's been seven months since her life has imploded and she is settling into her new life in Pine Valley. She had decided to not return to teaching and is working as an assistant for Jeff Finch, an up and coming realtor in the area, and is adjusting to her new normal.
Dawson Harris is also adjusting to a new way of life. It's been over a year since his wife left him with only a note to explain why. Dawson is a successful lawyer, and just happens to be Jeff Finch's lawyer. Being incredibly handsome, Dawson could have any woman that he wants but he is wanting something more.
Clara and Dawson meet in a yoga class after being acquaintances over the phone, Clara being the go between for Jeff and Dawson. Clara and Dawson's attraction is immediate. Dawson wants to jump into a relationship with Clara with both feet but Clara is incredibly apprehensive and holds Dawson at arms length. Will Clara ever put her guard down and give Dawson her heart?
This is the question that plagues you as you read Say You Love Me. If you've been following my reviews for any length of time you know that I love Heather B. Moore's writing style. Like the other books in the Pine Valley series, Say You Love Me is a quick, yet charming, read. Dawson is easy to fall in love with but I did find Clara a little annoying at times. Here she has a gorgeous man that is head over heels in love with her and she wants to play games with him? I can empathize with the fear that she felt giving her heart to another man after what she'd been through with her fiancee but to break off their entire relationship, and go from friendship to relationship and back seems a bit drastic.
All in all, I enjoyed Say You Love Me. The premise is sweet, the characters likable, the writing wonderful, and you gotta love a happy ending.
