Omega Myrick Thomas has made a pretty good life for himself, climbing the corporate ladder to become CEO of his own company. Still, it was a lonely life as he lived in fear of being used for what he was – and what he could give people.
In walks his new vice president, the tall, dark, and devastatingly handsome alpha Tristan Chefant. Suddenly Myrick has much less trouble with the idea of being used – in every way imaginable.
What happens next is way more than a typical office romance. Can the gorgeous alpha help the reclusive billionaire omega emerge from his shell?
This 50,000-word gay paranormal romance is hotter than hot. Containing intensely erotic and detailed scenes, this sizzling omegaverse tale is intended for adults only.
This was ok. The description of Myrick overcoming all the omega stereotypes and becoming a CEO of a company didn't mesh with his crippling fear. He was scared every fucking second of the day, even with people who'd been vetted. I just feel it would've been unrealistic for him to reach his goals when he's hyperventilating every other minute. I liked the premise, but didn't believe in the execution.
It was really sweet. If you are looking for something light this story is a great choice.
The book was overly slow-paced for my taste. I'm always down for a good slow burn, but when it hits 70% of the book, and nothing happened yet I start to get anxious. I don't mean sex. I'm talking about them only interacting a few times and being friendly and curious but having no real feelings. Of course, after that, the end felt a bit rushed. Still cute tho.
What I loved the most about the story were the characters. They felt natural and their struggles were real. I also liked how they didn't fit the usual stereotypes for alphas and omegas. It was refreshing to read.
i was really happy to see this new book (series?) it was classic aiden and really good i can't wait to see what he does next. i really enjoyed bens character.
This one is different than the usual. Still omegaverse, though. It's The Author's trademark.
I'm happy to get a nice change of pace. The atmosphere in the story is clearly not the same as the heavy duty Alpha trying to solve some big cases. A bit intense, yes, but that's the reason, isn't it? To make readers excited. And the love, well, there are some sparks here and there! Moreover, it's not 'love at the first sight' thing. I can see the Alpha cares for the Omega and I think it's sweet of him.
Romance... Anything about it is, yeah, romance. I can more or less guess the storyline. However, even though I do say this is a nice novel, [SPOILER] in the near end when Tristan had already rescued Myrick from the Alpha invader, they were talking soooo long. It's really unrealistic because at the time when Tristan first entered Myrick's bedroom he was so dizzy with The Omega's pheromone that he couldn't even stood straight. But when the source of the dizziness was within his grip (and even flirt a little)? He could talk... I mean, yes, he could talk but really? For that long? Let say he had a super ultra strong control of his body (and also couldn't put out the bleeding hand - painfulness make a person sane), I still think the conversation is making the story unreal.
All in all, I need more! Like, twenty to fifty pages because how can I don't get their happily ever after life?! I know they got married and had a baby, but it only stated in a flash, like one paragraph!
Oh yeah, somehow I feel the story has an omegaverse manga's atmosphere. Once again, somehow. Might be only my imagination.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book.
Myrick Thomas is an Omega who worked really hard in life to be successful. The hard work has finally paid off when he becomes the CEO of his own company. It is almost unheard of for an Omega to be so successful. Omegas are in constant danger from Alphas who just like to prove how strong they can be and bend an Omega to their will. Myrick lives his life in fear of such an Alpha so he isolates himself from everyone. It is a lonely existence, yet he feels it is the only way to keep himself safe.
Things are about to change for Myrick when he meets his new Vice President, Tristan Chefant. It did not go unnoticed to Myrick how handsome the Alpha is. Despite his misgivings, Myrick and Tristan work very well together. He soon finds out how thoughtful and selfless Tristan is. Myrick is not used to Alphas putting other people before themselves. As much of a shock as it is for Myrick, he can't help appreciate Tristan's efforts to make sure Myrick is comfortable and cared for.
Tristan is obviously attracted to Myrick. He realizes that Myrick has issues when it comes to Alphas and does not normally feel safe around them. He takes great care in not pushing Myrick and always makes sure that he feels safe in Tristan's presence.
I had a great time reading this story. Tristan was the perfect Alpha to Myrick's Omega. I loved Tristan's sensitivity to Myrick's anxiety and never once passed judgement or thought him weak. They were a great compliment to one another. Another great read from Aiden Bates.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book.
The book blurb tells the story a lot better than I ever could. No sense in me re-telling the blurb. ****************************************************************************** Aiden did it again in his story "A New Chapter"A Mpreg Romance". I think he founded the mpreg universe. His previous books are awesome to read. However, in this book, he decided to shake things up. We have Myrick the omega, and Tristan, the alpha. Myrick is the CEO of a corporation and Tristan is his vice-president. Now, who would have heard of an alpha answering to an omega? This is where Aiden shakes this universe a bit. Tristan appears to be happy in his role and does not use his Alphaness to influence Myrick. Of course, they both have baggage: Myrick with past alphas' and Tristian, with past omegas. Both exhibited abnormal behavior with respect to the omega/alpha dynamics which was refreshing to read. Myrick's past experience with Alpha's comes out in embarrassing moments of social anxiety. It really showed his conflict as to who is society says he should versus what he has become: an Omega CEO, on his own merits. I thought it was an entertaining and excellent read. Aiden is my favorite author: I love the way he writes: sentence structure, word usage, and his imagination. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys the mpreg world.
Two strong, passionate, driven and lonely men connect in this romantic story. Excellent writing, strong character development and an engaging plot kept me reading the whole story in one sitting. So many warm and fuzzy feels with this story, I love how the author has created a very unique story.
Tristan is the strong and gentle giant that has been used because of his size and protectiveness. Myrick the strong and driven omega who has almost lost himself, just because of his gender. These two men find a beautiful connection and find love when it is unexpected.
I loved a quote from the book where they are discussing after dinner, if it is worth the pain of getting used by other people.
Isn’t not caring easier? Myrick mumbled… Tristan didn’t seemed deterred. Is it? The alpha gave him a thoughtful hum. I don’t think so. I mean, sure, it’d probably be easier to not let anyone in or try to make connections, but isn’t getting by without anyone else to lean on way harder than not?
And later Myrick thinks: ‘About how sometimes we try to find any solution but the obvious one, and just make more problems for ourselves later.’
I loved this book. Actually I love reading all the books by Aiden Bates. His stories are touching.
Great plots and amazing characters development.
This book is about an omega, Myrick and an Alpha, Tristan, who are scared to be in a relationship, for fear of being taken advantage of. Where one, Myrick, had build walls around him to keep himself safe, Tristan takes risk of being in a relationship in hopes of finding his One, even if his heart and trust is broken several times. But when both meet each other, sparks fly, birds sing and Walls of fear come down. Both want to take chance on each other. This story is emotional. Very touching.
I absolutely enjoyed reading it. I definitely recommend this book.
A new twist for Aiden Bates fans, this book has an Omega in the position of power with an Alpha as his underling. Myrick is the big boss and needs to hire a new vice president and the best man for the job is an Alpha! Tristan is a sexy Alpha that has worked his way up in the company and has no problem working for an Omega. Myrick is so nervous, he forgets to take his hormone suppressants and goes into heat. Someone breaks in and he calls Tristan from his panic room. Will Tristan get there in time to save him or engage him?
Unfortunately this book does not do it for me. I had an incredibly hard time believing the omega is a President of anything. We don’t see much of his business sense; he’s not in control, runs out of work without telling anyone (what happened to the client meetings?) There are way too many plot holes and it just wasn’t believable. Then the book ends. Dead stop, like the author was just done. And this is not an mPreg novel. This is not the norm for this author. What happened?
A pleasant love story of a successful CEO Omega who hires a competent kind Alpha as his VP. This story is different in that the author chooses to build a good working relationship and friendship and only in the last couple of chapters to you get to the sexy bits. Gave it 4 instead of 5 stars only because I wished there'd been a couple more chapters at the end to delve into the pregnancy and relationship instead of getting a short chapter at the end wrapping everything up so quickly.
Our MC omega has worked very hard for years to make it to the top of his corporation. He is determined to not ever be used by an alpha, using suppressants to hide his heats. His current Vice President is leaving the company but is helping hire her replacement. Tristan, a handsome alpha male becomes our omega's closest working colleague. This is the story of their sometimes tortured but finally loving relationship. A worthy read.
MM. Alpha/ Omega. Myrick is an Omega in a very different role in a world where Omegas are prized for their ability to breed. He is leading a company and Tristan, an Alpha, is his newly hired VP. Myrick is nervous about being alone with anyone, being himself, and potentially open to being kidnapped. This is Myrick's journey. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
I really enjoyed this book, right up to the ending, but I wanted more. For me, I wanted to know how they joined their lives together, how work took their relationship, instead after one night together, it went to the epilogue which didn't explain how they have had to work in their relationship. Good story up to the last page.
The book cover gives you the impression that this is an mpreg romance. Reality is an Alpha/Omega Romance the pregnancy is thrown in at the very end of the book kind of like an unwanted extra. I personally wouldn't recommend this book If you're looking for an mpreg book.
The book was just ok for me. There was too much time reading about Myrick's feelings and thought and not enough about Tristan's. They didn't come together as a couple until the very end. Then the story just ended. There was not enough story or conclusion for me to truly enjoy the story.
I love reading Mpreg romance or basically all gay stories. I don’t what it is, but I find them emotionally rewarding to read. A new chapter was heartwarming to read.
I love to read a good love story and this one was by far the best that I've read in a long time. Usually the alpha is the one with more power, but this was a nice change. I absolutely adored this book.
Myrick, a successful Omega in business being able to overcome his fears in his personal life to rely on Tristan, an Alpha, took strength and a leap of faith in himself in making his decision to trust.
Great read. The story moved along on a good pace. Myrick and Tristan were hurt in their own way, but made them both shy. Though Tristan remained an open person Myrick did not, yet they found what they needed in each other.
Myrick being an omega has become a CEO of his own company his work hard to make him not just an omega. In come Tristan who is an alpha who starts working for him. And not only that but they get close when myrick becomes in Heat and is there for him.
I just felt like there was so much build up to them coming together that it was a huge disappointment to not get to spend anytime with them as a couple.
DNF @ 50%. There is just a whole lot of nothing happening in this book. Myrick doesn't make for a believable CEO and spent the first half of this freaking out over one thing or another. Neither character was engaging.
The was Myrick tries to convince himself he does not have an attraction to Tristan and then gives in.... This book had me mad at the Mc laugh with him even want to hide with him I loved it
Loved Tristan, a gentle giant, and Myrick, a scary, worry-wart!! I was a little disappointed in his long it took them to come together and when they did, it was one and done..so dude at the lack of heat... I love heat, lol!!!
It was ok. A bit annoying how they put a picture of baby in cover when there is no real mpreg in the book, just a mention in the end. And if I was Myric I would not trust Tristan throughout things happened in the book because I was only known him for few days, but whatever.
i loved this so much.. i loved the different dynamics and of course the writing is amazing. these 2 characters made me smile so much. they are wonderful and im so glad i read this one.
I enjoyed the end of this. But the first 60% was too much awkward chatter and shoulder shrugs. It didn’t make either character appealing. I very much enjoyed how it came together though.
