Brianna McGraw ventures out West to find and rescue her brother from bandits who will sell him illegally to the highest bidder. Separated after they were orphaned a few years ago, Brianna has worked hard as a librarian to save money for the trip. But when she arrives, she realizes she has to somehow come up with a thousand dollars to buy him back. She then sees a wanted poster with a sufficient reward and decides to become a bounty hunter, accomplishing two good deeds at once - bringing a criminal to justice and saving her brother. Trey Morgan's renegade days are long over. He is at home on his ranch, tending to his cattle, when Brianna appears and arrests him. He is more amused than concerned, wondering how she thinks she's going to drag him 900 miles through the mountains. To his surprise, Brianna proves over and over again that she is intelligent and strong enough to make the long and grueling trip. While he quietly observes his beautiful captor, his discomfort grows when she begins to win more and more of his respect and admiration. Soon, the threat his beautiful captor holds over him is not so much in the pistol she wields, but the lasso she has firmly fastened over his heart.

Parra certainly creates some very likable characters. Brianna was a hoot, I liked her right from the start. Her interactions with Trey were fun and left a smile on my face. I’m not sure about the historical aspects of the story, but she finds herself in a tough situation and really takes her problems head on. With all of the Parra novels I’ve read so far she takes these interesting plot ideas and makes them very believable. I thought Trey was great, I loved that he just “gives up” right at the beginning because he is so curious about what this “little chit” was up to. The more time they spend together they more they fall for one another, and it was fun to be along for the ride. Again, like her other books, I wish it had been a little longer. It kind of feels like things get wrapped up a little too quickly and I would have liked a few more chapters, at least. I still really enjoyed the story and would definitely recommend it.
Ok, so, I’ll admit this one is definitely a straight guilty pleasure.
It’s about as cheesy a romance as you can get, but it was so good. I didn’t want it to end, really. It’s one I’ll laugh about, but also get warm fuzzies from.
A very enjoyable read! It is fairly short so I thought it would feel lacking something, but it really didn't. I enjoyed the banter between the two and the humor throughout. Even as the story was coming to it's conclusion, I began to enjoy it even more! I find that as a story is wrapping up, I'm not enjoying it as much, but I just loved this from beginning to end!
Couldn't put this one down. A great combination of adventure and romance - very sensual romance that still remains clean. A heroine to be admired and a hero that makes your heart skip a beat.
Self-proclaimed Brianna McGraw has set her cap for the outlaw Trey Morgan. She's read the books, bought the horses and supplies, and will actually round up her catch. Trey is more than curious about this woman who has him shackled and tied, but because the bounty was paid long ago (a bogus attempt by his brothers to get him to return home). They naturally fall in love, save the orphans, go back to the ranch where they marry, and run off to Trey's wedding present.
A quick, fun, light read. I enjoyed the idea of it...a young woman decides to hunt down a man on a wanted poster so she can get the money to save her little brother from slave-traders. A creative idea...a couple of parts were a little repetitive. Overall, I enjoyed taking a break from my kids today to read it. ;)
It took me so long to find this book. This is my second time reading it. It's an easy read about a new female bounty hunter needing money to save her brother. It's a bit of a love story and I promise you won't want to put the book down. Enjoy!
This is a great love story with a totally different angle. Not many characters, but not many needed. The dynamic between the two mains is enough. Thoroughly enjoyable read!
Cute story of sister turned bounty hunter to try and earn money to buy her brothers freedom . Except - this seemed like a trite story, naive and unrealistic - mixed in with fantasy teenage sex.
It is always nice when it is hard to choose a favorite book in a series. I have enjoyed getting to know the Morgan brothers and look forward to finishing the series.
Just the same as the first book of the series, this one was clean, short and sweet. The premise of this story was a little sadder and not as fluffy as the first. The MCs were a little underdeveloped, the plot was a little too simple, and the resolution a little too easy, but it was overall an easy read.
PG - adult subject matter (child slavery), no swearing, some kissing, no sex Morgan Brothers Book 2 (Bk 1 is *Saving Samantha*) - novella-sized (under 200 pages) I really liked this book, even more than I liked the first one in the series. I think the H and h were more interesting to me: the H is basically a wild and heart wounded man, and the h is a butt-whoopin' librarian! So, the chemistry was off the charts and still a CLEAN read. I'm looking forward to reading about the next two Morgan Brothers. Thanks, again, Ms Parra, for the lovely afternoon!
(I would definitely suggest going back over this one [Kindle version, read on my iPhone] with an editor. There were whole paragraphs that were repeated pages later. Pretty distracting.)
