The Players Club #4
Playing His Way
HE'S READY TO PLAY . . . ARE YOU?
As the new owner of The Players Club, Brent "Mac" MacMillan is all about dirty sex, wicked sin and carnal pleasure . . . served up his way. After being burned in the past, he's always been careful to choose experienced females who enjoy submitting to his dark desires, and are willing to play by his demanding rules without expecting any emotional attachments in return.
Hiring beautiful interior designer Stephanie Randall to create fantasy bedrooms within his club is his first mistake. She's curious, flirtatious, and makes his blood run hotter than it ever has before. Innocent when it comes to all the debauchery his sinful world has to offer, she wants to take a walk on the wild side . . . with him.
His second mistake? Saying yes. And his third? Falling for the one woman he knows he can never have.

A sexy, captivating, passionate love story that was intense and palpable from the start. Erika Wilde has readers salivating as she presents two strong leading characters who are deeply attracted to each other while still playing the game of who has control.
Playing His Way introduces readers to Brent “Mac” MacMillan, the newest owner of The Players Club, a sex club. As the new owner, he wants to revamp the club with new decor. What he didn’t expect was that his new interior decorator is willing and wanting to play with him. Stephanie Randall knows Mac wants her but is willing to deny his attraction to her. So what happens when Stephanie gives him an offer that he can’t refuse? What happens when Stephanie gets under his skin? Will she be able to break his hard exterior and will Mac find himself breaking his own rules by falling for her?
If you are looking for a hot, steamy, and intoxicating erotic romance that explores BDSM in an pleasant manner while incorporating a palpable love story then Playing His Way is the book for you. As always, Wilde gives her readers a story that was well written and a storyline that was realistic and raw.

Whilst the writing was good the story was just far too rushed. This is more of a novella, I had only just started getting into the story and realised there were only 40 pages left! There was one very hot sex scene, where Mac offers to play with Stephanie only until she has finished redesigning some rooms at the Player's Club, and straight after we were at the end of those few weeks. There was no watching the relationship grow and develop, leaving a very tell and not show feel to the book.
I really didn't get a chance to know this couple before we hit the epilogue, which was a shame because the book had such great potential.

Playing His Way (The Players Club #4) by Erika Wilde
She's sugar and spice. He doesn't do nice. There are times when rules don't apply, because the heart is plotting the course. Erika Wilde dares to dream in naughty and vice. Taboo becomes fair game and temptation just fans the flames. Playing His Way may amp up the volume when it comes to the heat, but Stephanie and Mac's love affair has moments of tenderness that are a special treat. The sexiest moments are when Mac dares to be sweet.

You know what I love to read? ….. strong alpha males paired with strong alpha females. Mac is dominant in all aspects of life, not just in the bedroom. He likes it his way all the time. Stephanie is a powerhouse in her own right. She is strong and independent and sassy as all get out :) I knew from reading the blurb this would be an explosive pair. And the author didn’t disappoint. The story was sexually driven and intense and true to form, or shall I say realistically, just when things are looking like smooth sailing for Mac and Stephanie, Mac just has to go and attempt to wreck the whole thing …. That made this story very relatable and realistic for me. I really enjoyed the exploration and growth that Stephanie was willing to pursue to be with Mac. It accentuated her passionate side and it made for a very explosive journey.

What an enjoyable evening I had reading
Playing His Way
! It brings to mind the old Calgon commercial, “Take me away.” Take me away is precisely what
Playing His Way
did for me. It takes me away from my real-life into the life of the members of The Player’s Club.
Playing His Way is the fourth book in The Player’s Club series by Erika Wilde. The first question I ask myself when I finished is, “how did I miss the series?” The Players Club is a sex club that Brent “Mac” MacMillan recently purchased after being a member with his friends for some time. Mac has plans for the club and hires his friend’s wife Jillian to decorate the private rooms. Instead of Jillian he gets Stephanie, Jillian’s boss—so the fun begins.
Stephanie Randall and Mac play the flirting game around their friends, but nothing happens. Mac worries that events from his past make him unworthy for someone like Stephanie, but he can’t deny the attraction. Stephanie isn’t looking for a long-term relationship at this point in her life. She needs to focus on her business. She is up for a little play with Mac, and she knows how to tempt him.
I love this story. I know Erika Wilde from her Vegas Heat series and her collaborations with Carly Phillips. What I love about her stories is that her characters are adults and act like adults. By that, I mean they have conversations about what is happening between them which is true of Stephanie and Mac. There is a damaging history in their pasts. There are hurt feelings in the present. There are conversations with their friends, but again, the main characters have a dialog. I love that realistic, adult approach to a story.
I’m crazy about the characters. Stephanie is an entrepreneur. Her focus is her business and making it successful. She reads Brent’s attraction to her. She is a fun character who is sexy, strong, knows what she wants and sets her mind to giving it her all in both business and pleasure.
Brent MacMillan is another utterly entertaining, and sexy character. He is a little dark but not oppressively so. In many ways, he has learned to settle in his personal life because of a bad experience in his past by a woman who didn’t understand his lifestyle.
The developing relationship between Stephanie and Mac is well-done. The chemistry between the two main characters is blistering at times, and playful at times. Ms. Wilde’s writing is flawless. The setting of the sex club doesn’t overtake the story but adds flavor and sexiness. The flow is fast-paced and keeps the reader interested and wanting more. The secondary characters are friends and supportive.
I’m coming in at the end of this series, and while I’m sure the support characters are featured in the previous books, I never felt out of the loop. Playing His Way is a solid standalone. Also, it is a must-read for the true romantic because romance is what you get from Erika Wilde. I will be getting the other books in the series to experience the other stories.

PLAYING HIS WAY by Erika Wilde is 4th book in "The Players Club" series. This is the story of Brent "Mac" MacMillan and Stephanie Randall. Mac is a dominant and is super complicated yet there is something utterly sweet and vulnerable side to him As the new owner of the Players Club he wants to spruce it up and revamp some rooms. This is where Stephanie comes in. Stephanie owns a up and coming company that specializes in rooms decorated erotically. She is quickly rising to the top, getting those famous clients and is getting featured in pretty much all the magazines. When Mac met Stephanie, there was this sizzling chemistry that set the pages on fire and the story took off and just lit up like fireworks. You have this dominant, alpha male and this sassy, independent female…makes for some great reading moments. Mac liked to be dominant in his sex life and he didn’t think she would be able to enjoy what he liked because she was so independent and sure of life and herself. Stephanie was willing to try new things, especially in the bedroom and she was willing to give anything a try to see how it would turn out, including anything in the bedroom. Lets say Mac decides to give them and a relationship a trial run and just when things were going superbly, he starts getting cold feet. He immediately starts to ruin everything good, everything that was going so right. Will Mac shape up and make a move on Stephanie before she cuts her losses ? Will Stephanie be able to break thru Mac’s walls or will she move on ? Only way to find out is to read this sexy, steamy, action packed romance read. It is actually an amazing love story that has a great plot and swoonworthy moments.

I really enjoyed this book. It was hot, and you expect that from a book that takes place in a sex club (at least in part) but it was also really emotionally and deep. The characters were interesting and I believed their attraction. I believed Stephanie would be willing to trust Mac to initiate her into his world, and I believed he would be willing to put aside some of his rules to explore the attraction they had between them.
This book has fabulous chemistry. It's hot, it's compelling, and it draws you in. Mac wants Stephanie, but thinks she is too young for him, and that the things she wants in her life will be things that he is not able to give her, so he denies himself. He doesn't pursue her, and he doesn't react when she flirts with him...well, he reacts, but he doesn't act on it.
The writing in this was excellent. It kept the reader on the edge of their attraction, in the same way that Mac and Stephanie were. I enjoyed that you feel how they feel, that you believe in them and their attraction and you believe it when she finally pushes him to the point where he is willing to ignore what he thinks is right and take what he wants, and she is offering.
I recommend this title, and I recommend it.

I gave this book 4.5 stars!!
From the first to the last word I was hooked like a junky!!! I wanted to see Mac's Dom side come out and play. So be faired warned that when it does, you will need a dry pair of panties and maybe glass of wine or two!!!! This Alpha Dom man doesn't disappoint and I have to say that Steph does her fair share of bring it this Alpha Dom to his knees!!!
I love the chemistry between these two characters, you can tell from the start that they are trying to keep it strictly business and friendship and not cross that line, but for Mac it gets hard and HARDER!!! I felt like we could see where these characters were headed and love the storyline behind it.
Mac has past that has made him look at his love life different in the last 15 years. He only does submissive at the club because of what happen with his ex wife. When Stephanie an inexperience woman and new designer that Mac has hired to redo The Players Club wants to learn about all the lifestyle, Mac is hesitant about bring her into his world. When the chemistry is off the charts and the past comes back can Mac give Stephanie everything she has been missing in her life?
I didn't realize this was number 4 in The Players club, so now I will be going back and reading the other three. Looking forward to reading more from Erika.

Playing His Way is a well-paced story between two strong and sexual characters. Both Mac and Stephanie were easy to connect with and you immediately enjoyed their playful banter with each other.
The sexual tension was built well and considering I had not read any of the other books could easily follow the supporting characters and was not overwhelmed.
Mac and Stephanie had such great chemistry with each other. The changes in both of their feelings over the period of their friendship changing to more kept me riveted. Their physical moments were erotic and highly enjoyable. The way Stephanie allowed him to care for her in that environment and cease control was interesting to follow.
A surprise for me was Stephanie’s steadfast desire to be that career woman and she makes no apologies about it.

Stephanie Randall has wanted Brent "Mac" MacMillan since she met him and even though he's shown interest he hasn't made a move, but now that she's working on bringing a few fantasy rooms in his club to life he's agreed to "play" with her until the job is done and then he's walking away. Stephanie agrees but she has no intention of letting him walk away.
Stephanie and Mac burned fast and hot and fell even faster. Really enjoyed their story and what led to their sweet HEA.

I loved this steamy novella. Mac sure is fighting his attraction to Stephanie. But once they are together, the scenes are definitely hot. Loved her ideas for the rooms she’s decorating. But he messes up. Thinks he’s knows what’s best for her. Will she give him another chance? I really loved their happy ever after. I recommend this book.

Another scorching read from Erika Wilde! Mac and Stephanie's book will set your ereader on fire. Mac tries his best to avoid getting involved with Stephanie but in the end she wins his heart. Absolutely loved this trip back to The Players Club!

I absolutely love The Players Club series from Erika Wilde. When I saw Mac was finally going to get his story and he was being paired with Stephanie, I am pretty sure Ms. Wilde could hear me squealing for joy from the other side of the country. Not only was I over the moon to read this story, but I have to say that Playing His Way is my absolute favorite book in the series.
I honestly don't think I even knew Mac's real first name was Brent until this book. I'm not saying it wasn't mentioned before, but he was always just Mac to me. However, once he started spending time with Stephanie, I could totally see his as Brent. He was still a totally in control in every way man, but he also had a sense of contentment that had never been there before.
I knew it would take a special woman to make Mac risk his heart again, and Stephanie Randall was just the woman for the job. Stephanie is a strong woman who runs her own business and her business is the top priority in her life. Stephanie hasn't made finding a relationship a priority and is ready to break her dry spell and Mac is who she wants. I loved that Mac really did try and fight his attraction to Stephanie, knowing he wasn't looking for a relationship. OMG I'm so glad Mac gave into his attraction to Stephanie. This is when he started to become Brent for me. I absolutely loved Brent and Stephanie together. They were so freaking smoking hot together and I fell for them as a couple from the first moment they were together.
There are absolutely moments in Playing His Way where Mac makes horrible decisions based upon his past where Stephanie is concerned. I have to admit I wanted to Gibbs smack him a couple of times and gave Stephanie all sorts of props for not doing so. Him thinking he knew what she wanted because he was older and thought she would be missing out on a choice was his biggest mistake...even bigger than thinking they could keep their relationship physical only. I loved that talking to Dean helped him see what a complete and total ass he was being. I do love when a hero realizes he has been in the wrong and knows he has to go big to make everything right. Stephanie was absolutely the perfect woman for Brent MacMillian and I loved how they each proved their feelings for one another.
Playing His Way was a story I couldn't put down once I started reading it. I loved this story with every fiber of my being and it gave me all the feels as I read it. It was a great addition to The Players Club series, but could absolutely be read as a stand-alone story with no problem. Ms. Wilde once again gave me a super sexy emotional romance and I can't wait to read what she writes next.

The 4th book in the series and in my opinion, this is the best so far. If you haven’t read the others then don’t worry it isn’t exactly essential that you have because this can be read as a standalone novel but I think that in the scheme of things they do add a depth to the story. But the choice is yours.
The story centres around Mac (Brent Mac Millan) who owns The Players Club and Stephanie Randal, the one woman on the face of the earth that he doesn’t really want to have anything to do with l, let alone have tow orc with her but if he wants to move forward with his plan and make the changes that he wants to the club then Stephanie is the woman to make that happen, so he has little choice in the matter.
Don’t get me wrong, Mac doesn’t dislike Stephanie, quite the opposite but since she isn’t part of the club, he has stupidly decided that he is going to steer clear…well, famous last words I thought and I could help but want to see just how well that worked out for him!
Stephanie isn’t oblivious to the fact that Mac has been side lining her, pushing her away so to speak and whilst she likes him, there seemed little chance of anything coming to fruition whilst they seemed to be at some sort of perverse Mexican standoff.
I could have screamed at Mac to just get his head out of the clouds and take a look at the woman in front of him, the woman that was willing to give anything a try in order to be with him…and I must say that I let out a satisfying sigh of relief when he finally relented and gave in…but would Stephanie accept everything that Mac had to show her or would the truth be too much for her to understand. I hoped that she wouldn’t judge him, after all she had an inkling that everything he entailed wasn’t exactly run of the mill but when laid bare, facing that was always going to be a risk. I had my fingers crossed for them.
I needn’t have been worried because the author had a lot more planned for this pair than I anticipated because once that door was open, they were both on a learning curve that took on a life of its own. Mac had to learn to let go and embrace what he had with Stephanie while she was learning to cut loose and enjoy what she was experiencing with Mac, free form the restraints that she had placed on herself and learning to enjoy a side of her life that she had never imagined having.
The chemistry between the two of them was insane, they were fantastic characters and I quickly whipped my way through their story, thoroughly entertaining.

2.5⭐️ This book didn’t have a really big problem for them to over come. It seems like many of these books follow that suit. There are issues, but nothing that seems to hard to overcome.
Stephanie is hired to redecorate some fantasy rooms for Brent/Mac, who is the new owner of the players club. They’ve always had a smoldering relationship but Mac with his past, doesn’t take on inexperienced subs.
Again, this dom was more of a soft dom bc he allows her to have the control sometime. It still has a lot of spice 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶 but most of these books leave me wanting more.
**Warning: sexual assault**

Stephanie is always surprising Mac, "she stopped and cast a disappointed glance his way. “What? I don’t get a tour of the place?” Was she actually pouting? Again, a smile threatened his lips at how bummed— and adorable— she looked. .." Mac is not one of those sharing is caring people, he doesn't like others drooling over what's his, “I ought to punish you for coming to the club in this dress, with no bra and no effing panties on.” I loved this book, I fell in love with Mac.

There are three types that of BDSM books. I believe this book was for the readers just starting to get into this subgenre. It was a really quick read filled with some hot scenes. But, I wanted more. More time with the two main characters. More about their pasts and more sex scenes in general. I felt like it could have been a really good book. If the author dove into the BDSM aspect more.

Quick easy read
This book somewhat reversed the roles from the previous book. The club also had a bigger part in this one. Otherwise it was pretty much like the others. good read overall.

Audio. Quick read. I am not sure why this got such a high rating. There wasn’t much story. It wasn’t bad, Stephanie was too tough, maybe.

I cannot understand how the h felt anything for the overly broody and whiney H. He is nearly 40 but has a YA personality. His continuous negativity reminded me of droopy dog.

A passionate and beautiful romance with a vibrant and kinky edge...
I've read Erika Wilde a few times before but it's always been her collaborations with Carly Phillips. It wasn't a deliberate thing, I've actually had her on my TBR for a very long time...I just never managed to get that far down it. When Playing His Way came up for review it was a no brainer. It was like everything aligned and the perfect opportunity presented itself! Yay! I can't begin to say how much I loved this book. It was the perfect combination of erotica and romance.
The plot was great. I loved that office/ workplace romance feel but within a more libidinous setting. The story itself was more than enjoyable and captivating. I went through this book like a forrest wildfire. It was just so gripping. The romance itself wasn't on the mushy and dopey side, it's punchy and hot and it keeps you on the edge of your seat. I liked that as much as Mac wooed Stephanie, she also chased him. I felt that this made it rather realistic and raw, it kept it fresh. In my opinion Ms. Wilde has done something really special with the BDSM element. She doesn't try and shock you or blindside you with the lifestyle, it feels more like you're exploring it alongside Stephanie and this gives the plot a very personal touch. Going back to the BDSM, I feel like this book is perfect for a reader who isn't one hundred percent certain on the topic and has reservations, however they still want to explore their curiosity. I also want to say that this book is nothing like Fifty Shades, so if you are one of the people who didn't particularly enjoy that story it doesn't mean you won't enjoy Playing His Way. I really did find this a really easy to read romance and I honestly could read it again and again.
As for the characters I found them really easy to love and get to know. Brent Macmillan or Mac as he is referred to throughout the story isn't your typical kinky alpha male. I found him to be a multifaceted, strong and alluring hero. I actually found that his sweet side made him standout from other heroes within the genre. He wasn't a relentless pusher, but he showed honest concern and care when it came to Stephanie's and his needs meeting so that he didn't throw her in the deep-end. Saying that, I actually liked that Stephanie didn't come across as an overwhelmed prude. I'm not saying that that's how most heroine's are within this genre, but...well, there's always this treading on eggshells rather than just being open and honest with themselves and the hero. I mean there's only so much bashful one can take. Saying that they both have pasts which have them treading carefully in terms of becoming more. One thing that I really want to say and it is something that made this book a pleasure to read and the characters feel real—there wasn't a single time in this story where I felt that either the hero or the heroine weren't emotionally equipped to be in a relationship. They weren't just adults in writing, but also in action. I loved that they talked to one another, and I loved that they were mature enough to really understand and appreciate what was happening between them.
I can't say how much I loved Playing His Way, I'm gutted that I haven't read the other three books in The Players Club series. I will be doing so in the not too distant future. This book is something. It's passionate and it sizzles, but at the same time it tells a beautiful and sweet love story that has a vibrant and kinky edge. Like I said before it's the perfect combination of romance and erotica, and I could not get enough!

Relationships and monogamy isn't something Brent "Mac" MacMillan is into. He is a true alpha when it comes to his extra circulator activities. He has to be in control at all times. Since being played and burned in the past, Mac likes his fun down and dirty, nothing soft and his partners know the score. However when Mac decides to renovate his newest purchase, little did he know that the person who he hired would turn his world upside down.
Stephanie Randall always thought Mac was a nice looking man. Something about him seemed to capture her attention. But constantly being brushed off by him, she realizes that he is just what he seems to be. A arrogant ass who seems to always be uncomfortable around her...... However when one of her designers offers her a chance to work with him, Stephanie jumps at the chance to make him even more miserable.
When Mac realizes that it's Stephanie who will redo the new fantasy rooms in his club, he is not happy. The woman just does something to him. The way she walks, talks and even moves get Mac all riled up. Maybe if he avoids her he can get his rooms done and not stir up feelings that he knows he shouldn't have. However what Mac wants and what Stephanie wants seems to be two totally different things.
Both Mac and Stephanie play the perfect game of "Cat and Mouse" with each other. Lines get crossed, feelings start to develop and safe words will not get use. Can these two get past their issues and come together or will their hang ups be too much to see through the fog.
Playing his way is the 4th book in the Players Club series but can be read as a stand alone. I have not had the pleasure of reading the first three but I felt that I didn't need to in order to get through this book. The writing was great and the push and pull between the characters was fantastic. I did at times find Stephanie come across too strong but then when you read Mac's personality traits, I can see why the author did what she did. It was a fast read for me and I enjoyed it. I will defiantly be checking out the first 3 books.
3.5 star review.

Brent MacMillan doesn't do relationships, love, or make promises of forever... he is however a master at the one night stands, the dirtier the better! He took a crack at forever in his younger days and it imploded before he really had a chance to get use to the idea of being married, so he decided from that day on that it just wasn't something he was really willing to invest himself in again. Now the only entanglements he has with women are at his club, and each woman who comes along knows upfront that all they are getting from him is one night, he is not shy about telling him what he is willing to give nor does he want to waste their time. But then Stephanie Randall comes along and shakes up his normally controlled world, and he begins to wonder if he just unwittingly wandered down a road that he never planned to take.
The moment that Stephanie Randall's eyes land on Brent MacMillian she wants him, problem is he doesn't act to interested in anything she has to offer, and he shrugs off her advances.... but she doesn't plan to give up that easily. Then he shocks her when he offers her a job putting the finishing touches on his newly purchased club, not only it does give her the opportunity to tap into her creative side, but it also gives her the opportunity to spend a little one on one time with him. And she plans to use it to her advantage and get her man!!
Playing His Way was a hot little page turner that kept me captivated from beginning to end, I thoroughly enjoyed it!! The story line was intriguing, sensual, naughty, and heartfelt, and came equipped with two amazing characters who knew how to keep things nice and steamy!! This is my first visit to the series, and after devouring this little gem I am excited to go back and check out the stories that I have missed, and acquaint myself with more of Ms. Wilde's wonderful characters! Highly recommend you get your hands on this one, it's sure to leave your heart happy, and your toes curled!!

Even though this is book 4 of The Players Club series, it can be read as a standalone. I really enjoy Erika Wilde's books and this one didn't disappoint.
Brent "Mac" MacMillan has just purchased the Player's Club and wants to remodel the interior of the mansion. He asked his best friend Dean to see if Jillian (Dean's wife) would be willing to do the remodel. Dean says he will let Jillian know and she will get back with Mac. However, it is Jillian's boss, Stephanie Randall that ends up calling Mac and even though Mac had hoped to not have to deal with Stephanie, he rises up to her challenge and they get together to go through the 6 rooms in the mansion where Stephanie comes up with ideals to make each room into a fantasy themed room.
Stephanie has been trying to tell Mac that she is interested in him but Mac has controlled himself and not given in to her. Mac has issues with relationships due to his ex wife and feels that Stephanie is too young for him....there's over a 10 years age gap between the two of them. Stephanie decides to tell Mac exactly what she wants which is a sexual relationship with him and to experiment with the BDSM lifestyle. She trusts Mac to not hurt her and knows that this is a short term "contract". When Stephanie and Mac/Brent finally get together, their chemistry is so hot and Brent/Mac can be such a perfect Dom! As they continue their short term relationship, they each start to have deep feelings for each other but Brent's disaster prevents him from opening up and Stephanie realizes that Brent needs to work through his issues but she is hopeful that in the end, he will find his way back to her.
Stephanie and Brent are the perfect couple. They have similar interests and feel very comfortable opening up to each other about their life to an extent. And the things that go on in the Player's Club gives Stephanie ideas of what she is willing and/or wants to try. The two of them are so hot together that you want to cool yourself off!
