Moon Circle: Rediscover intuition, wildness and sisterhood

Rate this book
All over the world, women are discovering the power of sitting in sacred circles together. Let Lucy take you on a journey of connecting with yourself, the earth and your sisters. Moon Circle demystifies the process of setting up a circle up whilst keeping alive the magic and mysticism that pervades these gatherings of women. Moon Circle's combination of practical guidance and poetic imagery will help set your feet on your own path of rediscovering your intuition, your wildness and your tribe. Moon Circle covers everything from how to approach women in your community to what form of spirituality your circle might embrace. It includes over thirty ideas for rituals and activities and a full opening meditation for you to use. Nourish your soul and bring your sisterhood together with Moon Circle. "As I read Moon Circle I felt as though I was sitting somewhere cosy with Lucy as she honestly shared her experiences from her first discovery of a women's circle to the harvest of knowledge she now has from setting up her own circle and participating in many. Through story, humour and practical guidance Lucy offers us an inspiring guide to create and hold a Moon Circle so that women can gather to reclaim their ways." Sjanie Hugo Wurlitzer, author of Wild discover the magic of your menstrual cycle and awaken the feminine path to power (Hay House, 2017) "Beautiful and evocative, down to earth and very accessible, so anyone could feel that they could start or be part of a circle." Susan Durcan, Embodied Wholeness Amazon “Moon Circle is a beautiful book. In a tone that is at once personable and knowledgeable, it invites its female readers to come together, to shed their thick shells, to share, to be heard, and to hear. A moon circle, AitkenRead writes, “ is where we tell our stories to each other, where we take the sting out of the shame we've experienced, where we share tears over our griefs, and where we honour and bolster the dreams of each other's hearts.” The book details the author’s own journey of forming a moon circle, and through her experience, she offers practical advice—from tips on scheduling to lists and explanations of various rituals a group might include in their own circles. The book feels especially timely. As women across the world are taking a stand against misogyny, silence, and shame, there is also a need to come together, to rekindle lost sisterhood, to remember our connection to each other and to the earth. “Moon circles,” the author writes, “are a place for laying down these historical burdens and picking up courage.” This book is incredibly inspiring. Although I was not very familiar with moon circles before reading, I am determined to start one of my own! Just the act of reading this book made me feel like I was listening to a sister sharing part of her soul. Part of AitkenRead’s appeal is her openness, which inevitably fosters a sense of inclusivity. I felt a part of something reading this book. I imagine inviting other women to read it in anticipation of starting our own circle.”

Every woman should read this book!

This book is a beautifully written account of the author's moon circle journey. Reading this book felt like a dear friend taking me by the hand and gently guiding me into a world I'd long forgotten. It felt like I was being let in on quiet secrets about womenhood and the universe. I can't put into words what a liberating experience this book was for me.

It is also a practical guide to moon circles. I was surprised by how accessible and useful all the information was. It clearly explains how to capture this experience for yourself. This book contained everything I needed to know to start my very own moon circle. Last night my friends and I had our second gathering. Together we shared, laughed, sobbed, danced and hugged ourselves silly. It was glorious and liberating and beautiful... and all happened because of this book! Buy this book! Thanks Lucy for giving me what I didn't know I needed.

I read in another review that the YouTube link didn't work... it worked just fine for me. Also, the formatting was excellent and worked great as an ebook. Worth every penny!

Some really interesting ideas that I hope to share with others.

I love what Lucy stands for and appreciate deeply her sharing her experiences and vulnerabilities, and encouraging me to do the same. However, I think £3.99 is a bit steep to charge for this. Sorry Lucy if you’re reading this! I share this constructive criticism with the kindest intentions. The book could do with another edit as there are a few errors which griped - grammatical, not a consistent size text throughout and the link to the YouTube playlist didn’t work and wasn’t listed in the footnotes.

I am going to gift this book to all my women friends!

I loved this book from the beginning to the end. I've highlighted passages and will get a hard copy, if available, to scribble in and have by my table. I was a bit reluctant reading the book first because I mistakenly thought it was all about moon cups.... To my delight, the book is about how as women we can support each other. I loved reading it, and have just ordered another of Lucy's book.

Thought provoking

It's bubbles up in me a yearning i didn't have the words or experience to describe. I'm excited to see where my thoughts and new knowledge will now take me, and who might join me.
