As the new custodian of the ancestral home, Treweham Hall, Tobias Cavendish-Blake soon discovers exactly what he's inherited. Instant financial action is needed if the Hall is to survive the mounting debts it's racking up. Adding insult to injury the family is forced to sell the Gate House on the estate to lottery winners Gary and Tracy Belcher – not the kind of neighbours Tobias was hoping for.

Megan Taylor inherits her grandmother's country cottage in the village of Treweham and decides to make a fresh start there, taking a job at the local country pub.

When Megan meets Tobias, the attraction is clear, but she is determined to resist his charms, put off by his reputation and that of his best friends – the rakish Seamus Fox, son of a millionaire race horse trainer and dastardly jockey Dylan Delany. But Tobias is a hard man to resist...

Scandal is the perfect rip-roaring, bonk-busting horsey escapist read for fans of Jilly Cooper and Tilly Bagshawe.

5☆ You're in for a treat!

Scandal is exactly that is full of juicy stories bursting to be uncovered. There's Romance, Sex, Secrets, Jealousy, family dramas, friendship, relationships, oh and a gorgeous dog.

All the characters are quirky, they are all very different but add lots of charisma to the story.
You have the lottery winners who have just moved into the Gate House adjoining the Manor,
the Lord of the manor Tobias so to speak who is desperately trying to save the Manor as they are in financial trouble  and his eccentric family and friends ,
you have the famous jockey Dylan who is a lothario leading on all the women.
you have the pub landlord Dermot and his fiesty daughter Finula,
you have Megan who is an artist who is shy and has had her heart broken by her Ex Adam, yet is being led astray by the local vet Nick and Tobias the Lord of the manor as they fight for her attention.

There are alot of characters but you easily get to know each one and quickly fall in love with them.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Scandal.
It's was a nice paced book, short chapters that weaved together perfectly.
Each chapter tells a story about a different character but don't worry you won't get confused as the just flow.

I just want to say I love the cover. However I'm not sure It represents the story.

Sasha has beautifully captured the essence of the Cotswold and it's tranquil setting and village life.

I really do hope Sasha decides to turn Scandal into a series as it's fantastic!

So if your looking for a juicy book that is bursting with charismatic Characters and the lush Cotswold then this is the book for you!

Thank you to Aria for this copy which I reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

Favorite Quote:

Dylan Delany was a real catch, everyone knew that, but the trouble was he refused to be caught.

My Review:

This quickly-paced and engaging tale was a fun and amusing read and my introduction to Sasha Morgan. The storylines were highly eventful, slightly saucy, and vividly detailed and kept my interest and curiosity primed with an oddly enticing and pleasantly unusual cast of characters. I am anxious to read more of this series as Ms. Morgan’s delightful writing style has whetted my appetite for more.

In addition to being well entertained and frequently smirking with pleasure, I gleaned two new additions for my Brit Words and Phrases List with a rum do – an odd or surprising turn of events; and pipped at the post – lose by a narrow margin or at a crucial moment.

Thanks to Netgalley for providing a copy of this book for review.

Oh, this book was soooo not for me! I think the perfect reader for the book is someone looking for the reading equivalent of a Lifetime movie, but with a bit more sex. There are lords, filmmakers, jockeys(!), women who marry/have sex with the lords or filmmakers or jockeys (it doesn't really matter what the women do professionally, since they will just get married and work with their husbands in the end), manors, country pubs, cottages.... Well, the scenery is all very idealized English countryside (not that there's anything wrong with that; it's why I wanted to read the book) and the conflicts are non-existent, as are differentiations between the characters. Everyone, even the scandalous rakes, are deep down nice and just needed the right person. Also, the sex scenes are weirdly explicit for a Lifetime movie, but oddly short for any romance book. One paragraph of graphic sex, and they're done. Wham bam, thank you ma'am, and everyone's satisfied. Except me.
Now there's probably a time for me that this book would be just the mindless fluffy place I needed, but it was not the day I tried reading it. If this is the sort of mindless fluff you need on a given day, I certainly understand, because we've all been there. I just want to be sure you know what you're getting.

This is a book I liked more than necessary because it is set in a tiny town in the Cotswolds rather than some where in the US. We have a bunch of 20 - 30 something characters who meet, screw and fall in love.

There were two things I found odd. First too many of the women were way too JR High he broke my heart mentality, while too many of the men are 'man whores'. The 'bonk' scenes are all from the Male POV, so we really don't get the idea that the women are satisfied which seems odd for a chick centric sort of book.

It's a quick read that is satisfying and fast paced while you are reading and then it can be forgotten,

Splendid story of a whole village of people. It is well written with great characters. It has neat chapters full of adventure and scenery.
It is a must read if you even have inkling of desire to see an English countryside village and know some of these characters probably do exist.
ARC Netgalley, thank you for privilege of advance reading.

I guess you could say this was an enjoyable romp.

Tobias Cavendish-Blake has inherited Treweham Hall. His father had previously poured all the family money into it just to maintain the upkeep. His mother is oblivious to the state of affairs and it has come to Tobias’s attention the he should now ‘grow up’ and take on the responsibility.
Megan meanwhile, has caught her boyfriend in a compromising position with a secretary at work and upon learning that her beloved grandmother has left her Bluebell Cottage in the village of Treweham, it seems the perfect opportunity for a new start.

This reminded me so much of the old Jilly Cooper books eg Riders, Rivals etc. It even has a list of characters in the front of the book but don’t be put off by that, it seemed a lot but many only appear fleetingly.
Basically it was just great to not have to think too much and just sit back and enjoy the venture into Treweham Village and the inhabitants. It doesn’t encompass ‘Scandals’ so much as the title suggests but secrets and a family mystery.

It was fun and flirty and I sincerely hope this may be first in a series. I could quite happily return to the village of Treweham and be reacquainted with everyone.

Thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher for a copy to read and review.

A riotous romp Jilly Cooper and Fiona Walker fans are simply going to love, get ready to be seduced by Sasha Morgan’s fabulously addictive bonkbuster Scandal.

Living in a stately home might be most people’s idea of the perfect dream, but as Tobias Cavendish-Blake discovers when he inherits Treweham Hall, his ancestral home, that dream can turn into a nightmare if the necessary funds are not available. If Treweham Hall is to survive and have a future, then an injection of cash is desperately needed and with the house hemorrhaging money, debts are steadily piling up forcing Tobias to make heart-breaking decisions, such as selling the Gate House on the estate to a pair of lottery winners who are as far removed from his idea of the ideal neighbours as it is possible to get. But just when a weary Tobias was getting ready to throw in the towel, he meets the village’s latest resident: Megan Taylor, a woman who gets under his skin and whom he simply cannot stop thinking about. Tobias is determined to charm Megan and seduce her, however, Treweham’s latest resident will not be so easily persuaded…

Tobias Cavendish-Blake might look as if he’s just stepped out of every woman’s romantic fantasy, but Megan is determined to give him a wide berth and not to succumb to his tempting kisses or expert seduction. Keeping her heart under lock and key is imperative for Megan, especially as she had moved to Treweham to make a much-needed fresh start after inheriting her grandmother’s cottage. Taking a job in the local pub, Megan does not want or need the added complication of an attraction to Tobias Cavendish-Blake. With his reputation, not to mention his rakish friends, Tobias is not the kind of man who would ever want to settle down – however, Megan soon realises that resisting him is going to prove easier said than done!

However, when giving into temptation proves inevitable, Tobias and Megan are ill prepared for the maelstrom of emotions that are unleashed. But are they prepared to put their hearts on the line? Or is their fling destined to be short-lived?

It would be an absolute scandal to miss Sasha Morgan’s decadent tale of desire, temptation and red-hot romance! Scandal is a juicy page-turner packed with steamy goings-on, hi-jinks and mischief that you will struggle to put down as you get swept up in this enthralling, engrossing and enjoyable escapist treat you will find absolutely impossible to resist!

If you like your women’s fiction sassy, sparkling and oh so sexy, then download Sasha Morgan’s Scandal onto your e-reader – you certainly won’t be disappointed!

Tobias has inherited Treweham Hall. He finds that his father left it in huge financial straits. He starts working on ways to gather enough funding to care for the estate and all the people dependent upon the estate. Many of the ideas are put into action immediately.

Tobias meets Megan. She has recently moved to the village. Two things happened which changed her life. She walked in on her boyfriend with his hand up his assistant's skirt. And her beloved grandmother died and left her cottage to Megan.

Megan looks very similar to Tobias' late fiance. Since her death at the hands of a drunk driver, he has avoided any kind of meaningful connection. Now he is so drawn to Megan, he cannot resist.

Tobias is a very good man. He is intelligent, responsible and very caring for the people in his life. He has created a past filled with lurid adventures which made news in the tabloids. But, he has put that kind of life behind him.

Megan is a young woman who looks at people with expectations of finding goodness. She is leery of men because of her ex-boyfriend's betrayal but she is trying to regain her sense of trust. She is an intelligent young woman who is a talented artist. She is willing to work hard at the local pub and make friends with her co-workers and the customers who come in for a meal or a drink. Within short order, she has become welcome in the village.

This story has an interesting plot filled with stories about the people in the village. These are interesting stories about interesting people. Lives are changing and those changes reflect personal histories as well as personal futures.

I enjoyed this story very much. It is well constructed and provides the reader with insights into the village and the people who live there. The descriptions of the village, the estate, the people and the relationships all add to the entertainment.

If there were a shortcoming anywhere, it seemed at times the men were acting like male chauvinists. Being too possessive at times became too much for me.

Ms Morgan is a new to me author. I look forward to reading more of her books. She is a talented writer.

I received this book from the publisher, Aria, through NetGalley. I am voluntarily writing this review and all opinions are my own.

I picked this up as I'd read Jilly Cooper books when I was younger. As well as I like a bit of naughty romance kind of story.

Tobias Cavendish-Blake has run into some financial problems, can lottery winners Gary and Tracy Belcher help? Megan Taylor has just inherited her gran's cottage, but in the attic is a box that holds a secret that hasn't been told. What has her lovely old neighbour Ted to do with it?

I loved the characters and the way that riff raff (Gary & Tracy Belcher who won the lottery) got welcomed into the fold (if I ever win, that's how I would like to be lol). Tobias, Dylan and Seamus are lush. Megan is lovely and has a soft spot for Ted her neighbour, but what is the local vet Nick after when he bumps into her, just as she was about to be knocked down and why blame Tobias for driving.

All will be revealed when you read the delightful and sexy scandalous Scandal book.

I was blown away by this book and so it HAD to be one of my 5 star books. When I first saw the title, I thought it would be all about hot and steamy sex, or a story about falling in and out of love. Believe me, there IS some of that, but there is a lot, lot more to this book!

Tobias Cavendish- Blake is wealthy and lives in Treweham Hall in the picturesque Cotswolds, but economic problems mean he has to find a solution to be able to save the family's finances and preserve the historic home. His father spent a lot of money on maintaining the building and his mother is disinterested about solving the Hall's economic situation, so the task is left to Tobias.

The grandeur of the Hall is well portrayed and it is very realistically described. I have visited many a stately home with my family and have also watched a lot of period dramas and films set in them. For people who are not from England as I am, the book will give a glimpse into English country houses and the Cotswold area. Having been bought up near Oxford, I visited the Cotswolds a few times and the picture postcard village feel is very accurate and strong in this book.

Megan arrives after her Gran's death She spent many a happy time at her Gran's during her kchildhood, and is amazed to find she was left the cottage.
In an effort to settle into the area, she takes a job at the local pub.

Ted is an elderly man and her next door neighbour, but hides secrets. When Megan finds some letters between her Gran and a mysterious man written during the War when her Gran was a land girl. she finds she wants to know more.....What happened to bring them together?

Dylan is a succesful jockey and a bit of a ladies' man. I found him the least likeable character of all those in the book, but this mix of characters really helped to display the demographic in this small village.

In Lancashire, a couple who live in a small terraced house, are unaware what life has in store for them, and live life as best they can by working in a supermarket and care home. Is a new start on the cards for them, too?

Scandal is a very fun read with highly detailed descriptions, and a pace which is very quick but punctuated by short chapters. Despite this, the attention to detail and plot is of a very high standard throughout the book, and the pace never lagged or meant the story lacked interest for me.

It is also a story about how circumstance throws strangers from all walks of life together, and about how change can happen when, and how, you least expect it. It's a story of hope, friendship love embracing life and being brave enough to take a chance and of being happy with what you have.

It could also be a good read for Downton Abbey fans or equally for those who love the close-knit feel of village life. It's definitely for anyone who loves a good dramatic story with people making life-changing decisions. Finally, of course, it is one for all the romantics out there!

Thanks to Sasha Morgan and Aria for my ARC in exchange for an honest and voluntary review

I cannot express how much this book failed to live up to the “just like Jilly Cooper” recommendation. Seems like the majority of the overlap is based on the fact that both authors include people and horses in their books. Otherwise, nothing that I can tell.

Way too many characters and side plots lead to undeveloped plot lines.

The side plot of Dylan and Flora was harassment and manipulative.

Introducing characters at 80% of the book? Unnecessary and annoying.

Megan and Tobias’ relationship is not healthy. He moves in next door to watch over her? Not romantic, controlling.

This book was trying to be too much - country romance, lottery winners, family secrets, town bad boy, infidelity, jilted lovers, horse people? Old people finding love? Pick two and do it well. Don’t throw spaghetti at the wall.

Okay- give it up and just enjoy this frothy fun novel. Megan and Tobias are both hurting because of how their last romantic relationship ended. In his case, his fiancé died while in hers, well, he was just a rat. Both of them have retreated to a village in the Cotswalds where they've inherited property. You'll meet all (sometimes it seems like too many but it does take a village...) the locals and you'll root for them as well as they try to deal with economic changes and move forward with their lives. These felt like very real people to me. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. This is not entirely escapist but it's definitely a good one for a lazy afternoon or a long plane ride.

This was a sweet story. The descriptions of the characters and the Cotswolds was very well done.

Megan learns two things. Her boyfriend is an ass and her Grandmother has died, leaving her cottage in the Cotswolds to her. A change of scene is just what she needs. Moving into her Grandmother's cottage, she gets a job at the local pub, meets her neighbors and gets gobsmacked by the hunky Lord of the manor!

But is it Megan he wants or does she simply remind him of his dead fiancee?

I really enjoyed this story. The setting, the characters. There were some hilarious moments and some sad moments and a really big secret!

I have no problem recommending this book. What I had a problem with was the cover. What was the big Scandal? And who is the blonde? Where is that pool? Please stick another cover on this because it really deserves it! And hopefully we will get to see more of these characters! I can see this being a lovely series!

I haven't read a 'bonk-buster' for years and approached this one with a little uncertainty .. but this is so much MORE than the blurb says. What a great read!

With a good mix of characters from all walks of life, readers would do well to leave their preconceptions behind. There is sadness, happiness and a bit of naughtiness too .. country life will never seem simple again! A couple of loathesome characters really add flavour and there are plenty of giggles along the way. I definitely got caught up in the story and raced my way through this one .. a very enjoyable book, and one I have no hesitation in recommending.

My thanks to publishers Aria for pre-approving my requests via NetGalley. This is my honest, original and unbiased review.

Yawn, Jilly Cooper she ain't

Utter drivel, the transactional writing is lacking any humour - note to author to remove the word 'plonked' from her vocabulary. Little understanding of the characters she tries to create. Tedious, dull, not convincing at all

Scandal by Sasha Morgan is a book full of secrets, lies, romance and sex and is the perfect guilty pleasure read. In the quiet Cotswold village of Treweham a whole array of scandal is unfolding, involving more or less the whole village.
Tobias Cavendish-Blake has just taken over the role of Lord Treweham Hall the passing of his father. He may have inherited a beautiful house, but he’s also inherited a load of stress as the upkeep for the hall is too high and with the debts his father has left the family are struggling. He needs to reign in his mothers spending and provide a much-needed income quickly.
One of Tobias’ money-making schemes involves renovating and selling off part of the estate, the Old Gatehouse. This is something he finds particularly hard, especially when he sees what the lottery winning buyers Gary and Sharon do to the place.
Newcomer Megan has inherited her grand-mother’s quaint little cottage in the village, a place she sees as a sanctuary after her recent break-up with cheating ex-boyfriend Adam. It’s not long before Megan has fully integrated herself into village life, taking a job in the local pub, becoming firm friends with local girl Finnula and catching the eye of the new Lord.
Village Casanova Dylan Delaney may finally have met his match with stable-hand Flora, will she be the one to finally settle the famous jockey.
These among other great characters make a great story with numerous plotlines which all interweave and work beautifully together to create an engaging and thrilling read. I love Sasha Morgan’s writing and think this story could be made into a series as I’d love to read more about these characters.
I also loved the way the idyllic scenery of the Cotswolds and grandeur of Treweham Hall have been captured in the writing. I’ve been to this part of the country and reading Scandal has made me long for another visit to the quaint chocolate-box villages of this part of the country.
Full of sexy liaisons, family secrets and horsey shenanigans Scandal is the perfect escapist read ideal for fans of Jilly Cooper, Tilly Bagshaw and Fiona Walker. I loved everything about this novel and am keeping my fingers crossed for more form Sasha Morgan very soon.
Thank you to Aria for sending me a copy to review honestly and for inviting me to be part of the blog tour.

Scandal,  Sasha Morgan
ay
Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews

Genre: General Fiction (Adult) , Romance

I can't see any other adult fiction by Sasha so assume this is a debut novel, and what a great start.
That cover though – is that meant to be Sharon and Gary's hot tub? In view of the Hall. And what Scandal does the title refer to, there isn't anything really salacious...

I really enjoyed this read, gentle humour from the story and characters without that OTT forced feeling so many chic-lits have. When I see “ you will die laughing/ funniest story you will read this year” my heart sinks and I know they're not novels for me. This one the story is the focus, and any humour just comes naturally.

I love the characters, Megan and Tobias of course, but Gary and Tracy and how they settle in to the village, very understandable issues with a huge change of environment, and how their former friends reacted is sadly very real. Then there's Tobias friends Seamus and Dylan, stable girl Flora, Finnula and Dermot from the pub, Nick the vet, and Tobias family, brother Sebastian, mum Beatrice and wonderful aunt starchy Celia. They all play small parts of the overall story and lead to some fun sub plots along the way.

I loved seeing how Tobias transformed the estate from a money pit, sucking up all funds and leaving them in dire straights, to renovating and selling parts and making others areas income producing.
Its the kind of thing we do see here in the UK from big ancestral homes, here in rural Norfolk I can think of several who have done similar things. I do like my novels to be realistic, so I can feel that events could really happen that way.

I would have liked a little more drama of the down kind, a few hiccups to Megan and Tobias romance, there were tiny bumps but I love to wallow in the bit where it all goes wrong, and then its so much sweeter when the HEA arrives, but here we didn't quite reach that depth of emotion.
And smacked wrist for Dylan, his condom use needs to be much, much stricter given his propensity for taking up every opportunity.

Stars: 4, a really fun read, full of very genuine characters and events.

Thank you to NetGalley.com for the opportunity to read an Advanced Reader Copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

Based on the inviting cover and tantalizing description – I thought I had stumbled on my first smutty British boink-buster of 2018. Almost -

What I loved: It’s British smut – what’s not to love?

What I didn’t love: Overall – it was a great read there just could have been a little more…
Megan and Tobias had one of the smoothest courtships on earth - they needed more drama. Nick could have been a terrific villain/foil for Tobias but a) can you really hate a man that lovingly takes care of animals and b)isn’t really around to stir up enough trouble. Finula was too nice – best friends In a boink-buster do sometimes stab you in the back or at least get into one fight with you. Seamus – the Fox wasn’t really in this book at all. Unless she’s plotting a sequel???

What I learned: I’m not a horse person

Overall Grade: B+

Treweham is a quintessential English village, full of camaraderie, family life, gossip and the occasional scandal. There are a plethora of characters who are realistic; each has their role in the village life and a story to tell.
An easy to follow the plot, written from multi-points of view, in short chapters, interlocks nicely as the book progresses. Fast- paced the story has multiple themes; saving the ancestral home, winning the lottery, secret love and tabloid scandals being the main ones. Gentle romance, sensual affairs and a mystery hidden in the depths of the cottage Megan inherits from her beloved Grandmother are all explored and make this an interesting read.
This story is pure escapism and has the makings of an excellent series of books.

Many thanks to Netgalley and the Publishers for an ARC of this book which I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed - for me it makes a nice change from the gritty murder mysteries I usually read. Yes it is a pretty predictable story of love, betrayal, jealousy, hurt and eventually happiness but as long as you know what to expect you will really enjoy this book! the characters are warm and I love the setting - the scenes were set really well and you could definitely imagine them in your mind. This would be a great summer holiday read!

Pale pastiche of jilly cooper

Reviews promise a good plot and racy type novel. Yes ok but the delivery lacked pace and that magic something was missing for me. Characters were too sickly perfect and rogues not rogueish enough. I couldn’t have cared less about any of them . All the usual angst of love but girl gets the lord of the manor and bad boy gets his girl. Yes all beautifully described but a bit predictable. Skipped lots of it. Sorry a Bit average for me. Free on kindle unlimited would not pay to buy it.

I am not bothered by a fluff, inconsequential romance book. I love them for de-stressing. That said, this was pretty bad. Barely any plot, too many characters for no reason, and just boring. It seems like the author was trying to do too much. There were so many things going on that I thought were getting set up for story points that were just...nothing? The “big”mystery is revealed less than halfway into the book.

I read the whole thing hoping it would lead somewhere and was thoroughly disappointed. Also not a fan of the writing style. Felt very stilted.

A good story, well written, told with humour and heart.
A young lady being cheated on...
A elderly lady dies
A charming Lord who is very sad and alone
A stately home ready to come alive again
An old sweet charming war veteran has secrets held close.
A playboy who says yes to any cleavage and a pretty pulse.( The sexy scenes are a bit tacky)
Oh and Tracy and Gary lottery winners
Are just some of the characters, light and fun to read.

The pages just flew by...but good to read, would recommend for a fun, heartwarming light read.

Got as far as chapter 6 or 9% before I gave up. There are just way too many people in this book. At the beginning it lists all the people that are going to be in this book and there's 26 people. 26!
It's one person's narrative then all of a sudden it changes to another character. I don't mind side characters but I don't really want their story mixed in with the 2 main characters. It read a bit robotic too. It's not really flowing for me. So, sorry. I can't finish this.
